When you’re paying $$$ you’d like reliable service.Otherwise .. the sushi is delish! I’m not the raw slices of sushi kinda girl. I prefer regular rolls with toppings, spicy, and sometimes flash fried. I was on a spicy kick the night I went so we got the crunch roll, star jalapeño, panic, and the volcano.The crunch is okay, not really crunchy. The star jalapeño is delish! And the panic roll is by far the best spicy roll we had. The volcano comes on fire but got soggy with time and was not appetizing even after about 10 minutes.We got the combination bento for our daughters to share with a cali roll and shrimp tempura and they loved it! Lots of food and perfect for two kids or two light eaters!All in all the food was good, kind of high on price. But it’s an experience!

Rylee Pohl: So so good! The two of us got the titanic sushi boat for $55, and it came with 4 huge rolls, two salads, two soups, two crab rangoons, and two spring rolls. And the sushi rolls were so delicious and filled with only fresh products. I’m astonished we got that much food for $55. Paying separate for those rolls would have been over $70 total, not including the salad, soup, rangoons, and spring rolls. Worth every penny. We will be back!

Wine is served in colored goblets, hard to explain there not elaborate but kind of funny. They have bulgogi on the menu and that was the reason for my visit. Once I found out it is only served with rice and not the traditional bulgogi accompaniments I was bummed out and settled for over priced mediocre at best sushi.

It was well presented and the service was good.I would rate Momo sushi with the higher end sushi in Springfield, however at other places they give you salad, soup or other sides when you order sushi. Momo did not. While the sushi is comparable in quality and maybe a little higher in price, (this would be fine given the nicer atmosphere) we ordered the same amount of sushi as we would elsewhere but left not as full. I did miss the soup and salad.. etc. that others offer.The place was very clean, I do recommend and will probably return as we had a nice dinner.

I didn't review it the first time I went because I wanted to see the same level of excellence reached two times in a row and boy let me tell you the quality, service, flavor and overall atmosphere of this place is incredible! I worried moving from Dallas that I would not find top notch sushi but this place has got me covered! Excellent experience. Huge shout out to the server who dealt with the extremely picky lady sitting nice to us and did it with such class and patience that even her friends were surprised. 10/10 Date night win!

Chelsea Mendrala: We arrived at the start of dinner on a week night with a party of 3. The host was rather rude, but otherwise our service was outstanding. We ate off both the happy hour and regular menu and enjoyed all of the rolls we ordered (8 total). Our waiter was very attentive, but not obtrusive. He helped us make a few extra choices, which we loved as well. The Lobster Spring Roll was exceptional.Parking: Street parking

Both myself and my wife have called and left voicemails with “Young” over the last 2 weeks to make the final arrangements without a call back. Roy at Kai gets 5 stars for doing what he could to make it right.

Laura Carr: Our waitress Dawn was fantastic and went above and beyond. Every person working seemed really friendly and helpful. I thought the restaurant was gorgeous and I loved the high backed booths. The asparagus appetizer was delicious, the Wasabi risoto was yummy but not enough heat. I thought the sushi roll we had was perfect and loved the drinks, but I was disappointed in the creme brulee, it wasn't even warm when it got to me. I will be back for sure, though!

Elisha H: This place is what I call a one stop shop.So first, the atmosphere was fantastic. It felt like a lounge in Tokyo. I loved the sofa lounges upstairs with the pillows snd the overall feel. Music was on point! And the drink options were fantastic as well as tasty! We had the Rose Collins and it was super refreshing!The food: It was traditional with a twist! Super flavorful and fresh, and lots of interesting options. The miso was the best I have ever had, and the edamame was yummy! They offer a lime to squeeze ontop of the edamame, and I loved it!Now time for the bad: The service was SLOWWW. We got there right when they opened, and there was zero hustle. Now I am a bit picky about service. But we go to a lot lf restaurants and usually the service makes or breaks a place. When we sat down, it was at least 10 minutes before we got water. Our waitress never introduced herself. Then it was at least 15 minutes before I got my drink after ordering it. And atleast 30 minutes before we got our two rolls. Then when I got my roll, we didn't have any soy sauce! So I had to wait another 5-10 mins for that. Now this is what takes the cake. BEWARE THE AUTO GRATUITY. We were a party of two, and upon looking at the receipt we noticed a "large party auto GRATUITY" for a 20% tip. That's a no from me dog. Especially when the hustle was lacking. If the service was good, I woulda let it slide. Granted, the servers weren't rude. They just took forever, and weren't very intuitive. When I asked the waitress she seemed super surprised by it, and said it must have been a mistake and she got us a new receipt. But to be honest with you, I don't think it was a mistake. Seemed like she tried pulling a fast one. I can't prove that, but just take it from me. Look at your receipt. Tipping culture had gotten out of hand.

Margaret Halford: We drove to Springfield for a concert. We moved to the Midwest after years of living in California. We were craving Japanese food, and the desk people at our Hotel told us about Kai. The food was fabulous, as was the service and staff. Don’t miss this place! It’s well worth a visit, and we will return any time we are in the area!
