Hope for today Generation: I love Taco El Gordo, the times I have went they treated me like family. Everyone is so friendly, even the owner. The food is first class, so don’t judge the place from the outside. The meats they serve in the food is unlike anything I’ve tasted. It taste like they butchered and prepared the meats fresh that day. I’m addicted to this place and need to increase my budget so I can eat here everyday. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, it’s a well kept secret spot.

Eden Willoughby: We found this place last minute down town before we went to our show at the comedy club! Both of us enjoyed our tacos and we got a chips and queso to share! Neither of us had been here before so we just winged it the cashier was helpful and patient! I definitely want to come back and try more of the food options! I even tried the chili vinegar and it was good and a nice touch to my taco! My friend got a spicy taco and said it was absolutely perfect nothing extra needed to it! We will be back!

I ordered two soft drinks. $2.32 is what the cashier told me the total was. The drinks only came in one size and they were very small but that was ok. I gave her my debit card and then we continued on our walk. When I got home I saw that tinga taco had fraudulently charged my card for $6.52. I'm visually impaired and so I couldn't see the numbers on the register so i just trusted what she said the charge was. I wouldn't have paid almost $7 but they lied to me and charged my card over 3Xs what they told me my total was.

Awesome attitude and the best Tacos by far in town. I met the owners of Tinga and they don’t seem real friendly, guessing they don’t pay much to their employees thus the glum attitude, and unreliable quality.

jessing777: I ordered takeout about an hour ago. The phone was busy so I went in and ordered in person. I sat at the bar and had a beer while waiting on my order. They said it would take 15 to 20 minutes. I waited 40, no problem they were busy. I am staying at hotel across the street got to my room. The food was cold and old like it had been sitting there for quite a while. There was hardly any chicken whatsoever in the enchiladas. It’s was gross. I travel a lot. The quality of restaurants have just in general gone down. I will never return. Don’t waste your money especially on take out.
Barb Beezley: The food is the closest thing to being in Cozumel we've found in this area! Fresh, hot, amazing flavors! The service is perfect. The beans are yummy! Everything we've tried, so far, has been just delicious! The music, the decor, Everything! This place is so fun to go to! The warm salsa with chips, as well as the regular, is worth the trip! It's like going on vacation, even if you only have an hour!!

We got chicken fajitas to share, I can't eat green peppers and asked for none but wanted more onions. Asked for onions to be cooked well done. The order came out and there was a good amount of chicken but not double the onions and most of the ones we got were burnt black. We also got an order of ground beef chili rellano. When we got home with that order it was chicken rellano which the person that ordered can't eat chicken. Chips were hot and fresh as was the sauce.

Adam Russell: Quality of food has gone way down. Service was good. I went on Friday 11/11 for lunch, ordered a chicken and beef enchilada with rice. The chicken enchilada was not warm at all and it was hard inside. The rice was not fresh, with in 30 minutes of eating I was sick to my stomach and needed bathroom asap. I will not be back. I use to go here all the time.

chelsea spencer: I've been going to the taco truck since its been at the Ace Hardware parking lot. Love the food, the employees are wonderful. The restaurant on the other hand is a little ridiculous, their prices are kind of high especially when you factor in that you also have to pay for your chips and salsa. We dinned in last Friday and the food was okay. However when we got to the register they told us our ticket was almost 50$, when we asked to see a physical copy it was there that we learned they tacked on an extra gratuity charge of 5 dollars and some change. There was only two of us so its not like we were a large crowd. I would love if they were going to continue to do this to let the customers know before they get to the register and have extra charges they were not expecting.

T. Brooks: We used to eat here at least 2 times a week. The second location closed and they modified their menu. The quality for the price was just not good. We tried it again tonight for the first time in almost a year, it was even worse. 3 of the 5 meals we ordered were wrong. The shells now taste like cheap store bought shells. The amount of meat was almost nonexistent. Rice waz undercooked. Overall, tasteless and bland. Sincerely disappointed because this was our family's favorite spot for over 3 years.
Springfield Resident: This is an okay place for a Mexican restaurant that isn't staffed by actual Mexicans. If someone says to meet there, I don't complain. But there is better Mexican cuisine to be found in Springfield, Missouri, at lower prices.
James Bloir: Good food with fresh ingredients. We had a Carne Asada street taco, green chili enchilada, and a steak quesadilla. All were seasoned well. Portions were large so come with an appetite!
Just Me: We stopped in for dinner on a weeknight, the restaurant had a few other customers but not busy at all. Staff was friendly and helpful – service was a little slow. Queso is decent, mild salsa is SWEET - go with the rustic or mix the habanero with the rustic. Prices run about $10 a plate. We were all surprised it was for only one taco, rice, and beans. Portion size for the rice and beans is literally a spoonful of each. The taste of the food was decent although there were too many onions for my taste; there is potential for this to be a great place. What is keeping this place from booming are the small portions and all four at our table received food that was cold – almost as if it had been stored in the refrigerator and just served without reheating. Yet another Springfield eating establishment to cross off the list.

The Jamaican jerk taco had the potential but just had no flavor except pineapples and all the food felt like warm which was strange because we didn't wait all that long, maybe they just had stuff premade and we where the ones that got the old stuff. This was the first time I came by and I won't go back. The waiter was awesome though. I really had high hopes since the restaurant was recommended by friends. Maybe it was just a tough night for the kitchen.
garrett rea: Stopped after a Costco run because of the Veteran Focus. Starters were sweet and spicy salsa, mild and queso. All excellent. I got the Carne Asada taco. It was amazing! Also bought were Havana shrimp. Soooo good, great service.
Kevin: Been going here for years. Got the same thing for so long (buffalo chicken taco) then they removed it. I became a little salty towards that. Didn't eat there for a while. I have since started eating there again, forced to try new menu items, only to find out that they're all pretty amazing. Now a big fan of the Baja and Hawaiian tacos. Try the Hawaiian with the Tuna. You won't regret it. Their customer service has always been top notch.

Kira: This is THE BEST Mexican food in all of Springfield hands down. My husband and I shared the Big Tijuana which I also recommend you do if you always have a bunch of food left over and don't do to-ggo boxes or leftovers. The atmosphere is excellent, the staff are all attentive and sweet, it's clean and the food is absolutely a 10/10. Even my picky 7 year old (who got a quesadilla) enjoyed their spicy salsa and chips while we waited.You are honestly missing out if you don't eat here.
Matt Manno: First time dining here. I loved the food, the burrito I got was huge and the grilled chicken is awesome 💯. Salsa is on point and probably one of the best servers I've had. She was efficient/quick, remembered every bit of the order and got everything right. Small things, super packed and sitting at the bar I had to avoid the servers walking by the whole time and the chips were super "sharp" and cut up my mouth a bit. Will be going again though for sure.
