K. G.: Not a value to me. BBQ is ok was not amazing. Prices are high enough I should of been amazed by the quality, portion, and flavor. I'd never go back. Just wasn't good enough to equal what I paid for what I got. Not to mention some items I paid for I did not even get.I put it on par with places like Rib Crib or Dicky's. But $$$.Just drive to KC and go to Joes or Oklahoma City Leos, or Memphis if you want BBQ. Crosstown seems better to me in town while not amazing it does seem good for the value.I get the feeling they are trying to be like Franklins in Austin...run out etc....prices...but as some one who has eatin at Franklins many times...your not close. Not even remotely close.

B Travel: Very polite folks who helped us when we ordered and the food was absolutely incredible I got a burnt end Sandwich and enjoyed and savored every bite. My significant other got the sweaty Texan sandwich which was brisket and links he loved it but couldn’t finish it was a great portion. We got a cookie on the special menu to share and it was the best cookie we’ve ever had. You could really tell everything was homemade and made with love. We will definitely make the trip to come back out here again. Definitely recommend.
Erica Conto: It was okay the sides were so spicy we couldn't eat them. The beans and rice and corn. The line took forever to get through they would take 1 order and fill the order then move to the next. It took about 30 to get through the line. Meat was amazing as always but sides least to be desired.

Daniel Larsson: All in all one of the higher quality smoke houses in town. Clear 'texas style' serving meaning handhelds, and meat by the pound with traditional Texas side items (corn, potato salad, coleslaw and onion peppers etc.). Torn between 4 and 5 stars because while their brisket, pork belly and sausage is very good. Their burnt ends are in my opinion very salty, and slightly over sauced; and it's also quite expensive compared to other local smokehouses.

Chase Miller: Waited 45 minutes to be served a sandwich with no sauce or sides. Waitress just dropped on my table and walked off. I had to flag her down for her to tell me the side was going to be late. When I asked about the sauce for the sandwich she mumbled something and walked off. After waiting a few more minutes with no sides or sauce I walked out, sandwich uneaten. Worst service I've ever had in a restaurant.

Mykhael Hayes: Went for Saturday lunch, it was kinda busy there were a few empty seats. Chris the server was excellent and worked hard to keep up. The atmosphere is like a family reunion. Most patrons know the people there so it's always a warm welcome when someone enters. It had been a while since we had been. The owner came out from. The kitchen to talk to us just like he knew us.A large portion of food and the menu has many offerings.Don't let the road work prevent you from visiting this local gem. Lots of pictures on the wall with lots of history.
C Starrett: Well. I had high hopes of this place with all the rewards from the past and the reviews. The only good thing about this place was our waitress. She was great. Now to the food. I ordered brisket, ribs, and burnt ends. The food was so overcooked or reheated that it was like jerky. The absolute worst bbq I've ever had. Every piece of meat was tough like jerky. It was a complete waste of money. I'm really not sure how a place could serve what I had. Really hoped it was gonna be great.
Charlie Robison: I was quite disappointed in this place. The best part was the fried; however, not a lot of fries for $4.99. I didn't like their sause @ all. Pappy's is, by far the better BBQ place.

My friend's raved about the ribs. We ate outside which looks like it would be a ton of fun for an evening musical venue. Server was kind and treated our table well. Charlie Robison: Been wanting to try this place a long time but I usually only have Sunday or Monday & they aren't open then. This was FANTASTIC BBQ!!! I'm not a huge BBQ fan but this place could change that for me. Good BBQ requires no sauce & this was mouth watering good BBQ. I had the sampler platter & the only thing that wasn't perfect were the beans(shoulda ordered the Mac&Cheese instead). A piece of Texas toast was all that was missing. Very quaint & friendly place.

Lissa C: Lured here by the amazing smell over by Bass Pro, decided to stop by. It's definitely worth it! The pulled pork sandwiches were filled as much as possible and the take out boxes were stuffed on the side with meat too. The amount was very much unlike most places that skimp out on what they give you. The meat had a good smoky flavor, not too strong, but not weak. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was really nice overall. We may circle back after our trip west! They're a small business, but they do such a fine job! I can't understand the negative reviews one bit.

Mr 337: We had a bday celebration of 7 people at Bawi. Food was spot on but the service was a whole other issue. Our server was simply never around. So we had issues with no refills, orders on meats wrong multiple times (wrong stuff or 2x what we asked), issues with dessert taking forever to wait, and no one around to give us the bill. We was there for 3 hours. Nagdev Amruthnath: First time at this place and we really enjoyed the BBQ and all the sauces. Burnt ends and pulled pork was really amazing. Brisket was really thin and had texture of Gyro. Not really sure that the way its supposed to be. Potato salad was also great. Burnt end creamed corn was so so. It did not have any Burnt ends at all. Weird. The whole atmosphere was great and staff were great too.
Johnson: The Whole Hog Platter is a decent deal that can fill up two people. It comes with baby back ribs that were tasty but on the drier side. The brisket was tender and juicy. The highlight of the meal has to be the creamy corn that melts in your mouth. The rest of the platter, which included burnt ends, beans, potato salad, coleslaw and dinner roll were average at best. I also noticed the staff looked visibly annoyed that I was ordering takeout 45 minutes before closing.

J Bethel: Don't waste your money here! I got the pulled pork nachos to go, took them home and was sadly disappointed. It was chops, nacho cheese sauce (not fresh cheese), one small thing of sour cream (which BTW is $1 extra), some pulled pork , and about 10 jalapeños. 😞 This is sad for a BBQ place .... Not to mention that the pulled pork didn't have any flavor of its own. ..... Save your money and go elsewhere
Jody Langstraat: They sent us home with undercooked chicken. My husband ordered a half a chicken. There's no way they didn't know it wasn't cooked they had to put it in the to-go container. We always visit around three. Another time they had sent me home with overcooked pork. Maybe we need to go earlier. Another time we went their sidewalks were full of ice. They didn't take care of it. I would suggest eating in. I have no complaints about eating in.

The food is always top notch, but it is the excellent service that I appreciate more than anything else. Beans were mushy and sweet potato fries were from frozen and overcooked. Sauces were ok but nothing special and had very similar flavor profiles.

What annoyed me was that we are a year into the COVID pandemic and the staff does not know how to properly wear a mask. The chef himself took the liberty to take off his mask to converse with another customer. Meanwhile, I received no service, not even a “Bye” or “Thanks” when I finished. I like their doughnuts but I’ll pass on the BBQ.
