Landon Dowden: Always great food. Service is top notch as I've only had one bad experience in the dozen times we have been. The bad experience stems from having a late dinner at 8pm on a Saturday night. So it was extremely busy which contributed to the less than par service. Kira: This is THE BEST Mexican food in all of Springfield hands down. My husband and I shared the Big Tijuana which I also recommend you do if you always have a bunch of food left over and don't do to-ggo boxes or leftovers. The atmosphere is excellent, the staff are all attentive and sweet, it's clean and the food is absolutely a 10/10. Even my picky 7 year old (who got a quesadilla) enjoyed their spicy salsa and chips while we waited.You are honestly missing out if you don't eat here.
Matt Manno: First time dining here. I loved the food, the burrito I got was huge and the grilled chicken is awesome 💯. Salsa is on point and probably one of the best servers I've had. She was efficient/quick, remembered every bit of the order and got everything right. Small things, super packed and sitting at the bar I had to avoid the servers walking by the whole time and the chips were super "sharp" and cut up my mouth a bit. Will be going again though for sure.

Hope for today Generation: I love Taco El Gordo, the times I have went they treated me like family. Everyone is so friendly, even the owner. The food is first class, so don’t judge the place from the outside. The meats they serve in the food is unlike anything I’ve tasted. It taste like they butchered and prepared the meats fresh that day. I’m addicted to this place and need to increase my budget so I can eat here everyday. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, it’s a well kept secret spot.

Jennifer: Food was amazing. Service was lacking they did have a huge party going on in the back so that may be the reason. They did try to keep up. We did not see our waiter after our food was delivered but again he too was helping with the big party. The owner was out working the floor and helping out as well which was very nice to see. This was my first time eating inside. I usually go here for lunch and always get take out and never disappointed. Will definitely give the dine in another try. The tables are a little small so if eating in with a group of 4 plus the table space is a little tight once the food comes but the food definitely makes it worth it.
A Esc: Chicos Tacos spicy bowl ... WOW it is out of this world! If you love a good spicy meal! This is for you! It was EPIC. Next time I'm in town I'll have to stop by again! I also purchased a dozen red pork tamales to go. Those were DELICIOUS!!! I like how the tamales were full of meat and were well balanced with the masa. I'm not a fan of tamales where there's hardly any filling. These were good and also a good size. Great variation of hot salsas to go!

I was tempted to leave a bad review Because they did not give us good service But I did notice think of the rest of the rest of the restaurant good service And I'm not sute how the service would have been for us If they had been given the right Information about our party My aunt was in charge of setting up the location And she told them we had a party of 15 So when we arrived they did have a backroom And tables set up for 15 people and a waitress waiting.Well there was over 40 of us So they were not staffed or prepared for a party of that size I so it took forever to get anything. But I believe that if they had been given the right information That they would have given great service One plus side that I can say Is that we did have a backroom And we were extremely loud I felt very comfortable They even have couches back there, So I would definitely recommend them for a party But I would definitely recommend Making sure that you know how many people will be in your party.Wheelchair accessibility: they are wheel chair accessible.

Danielle: I like this food truck! Friendly people! The flavors are good. I do wish this burrito had more queso and was more cheesy. I will for sure have to get a side of queso and salsa so that it’s not so dry! Other than that, the street tacos are great too. Another favorite is the Cali burrito and the Yummy rice!

The food had very good flavors. Super tasty. I might not get the pork ribs in the fajitas next time, but it was still awesome. Might replace it with Carnita meat next time. Looking forward already to the next trip back! Sweet tea was good. Staff was friendly and attentive. We shared this and we’re both stopped and left part of it. You can’t replace spice with cheese and that seems to be the thing here. But not this place!!! I haven’t had a burrito that made me wanna hug the cook and tell them I love them since I left California. This place is amazing!!! It’s not bland, the salsa is great, the food is great!!
Triss Hill: I went here tempted by reviews against my better judgement as the lot is always empty.I walked in at 1pm on a Saturday and there was not only no one at the counter, all of the chairs were up on the table from the previous night, the bar shown in some of the pictures wasn't even put together and the place was deserted. It also looked unclean in general. I turned and walked out as someone yelled across from the other side of the building "Be right there!". I left as it just all together gave me a bad feeling.
Woodpecker Peckswood: good grub. love the chile verde burrito.. super tender pork.. some things not so good and a bit overpriced now but I have liked most of what I tried. the muchaca burrito is amazing.. the green salsa is very good.. I think the Mexican coke is $3.50. but they are sooooo good..I live close by and even tho they close sometimes out of the blue I dont mind.. lol.

William Harrison: Stopped in for early dinner about 2:30 on a weekday. Seated quickly. Ordered quickly, very friendly. Big tables. Big boothes. Different levels. Comfortable and kind of fancy decorations plus a very clean atmosphere make it feel like 5 star. The service was attentive, not intrusive, timely, and overall a benchmark of what it should be. The wait from kitchen to table was as expected and normal. The food arrived sizzling and filled the air with authentic savory sensation.After eating at several similar restaurants, we both decided that the flavors here stand out as 5 star. We had tacos and tamales and enchiladas, and they did not hold back on the chips, sauces, and cheeses. It was great, satisfying, and we will be visiting regularly. GO!

Northside Youth: My husband and I eat here often, usually after church on a Sunday. We have tried several other Mexican restaurants around town and they just don't compare! El Maguey has the best food, prices, service and portions! Most generally we don't have much of a wait at all for our food. I would recommend to anyone! BTW..... my favorite dish is the Arroz Con Pollo! So yummy!

The ONLY positive was a super sweet hostess who seated us quickly and saw that we did get drinks once I voiced my concern about how long we had waited.
