They make sure you're fully numb before they begin and when dealing with a tooth extraction, they'll try the cheapest route first and both times I've had it done without needing the surgical extraction. Kyle Dawson: Absolutely horrible attitude by almost all of the staff. If you want a dentist that cares about the aftermath and your comfort after the fact go somewhere else. Over 24hrs after a rear extraction bleeding is still steady and heavy. I called and they said "yea it can take a few days to stop". Consulted another office to find out that with the size of the extraction a suture and clotting gel should've been used. I asked "my dentist" about the clotting gel and was told by the rudest front desk lady I have ever met. That it's still bleeding so it's OK. It appears that once your payment is received they stop caring.UPDATEAfter posting this review and it taking over a week for a response. I attempt to call this office and am told it will take 24 to 48 hrs for a response. And it taking over a week for my review to get a response (positive reviews get a response within 48hrs) it appears that responses to complaints are handled in a time where it is probably too late to correct. I can only assume this is on purpose to avoid accountability.

Lori Allen: If a persons crown falls off that was placed by My Dentist they should NOT have to wait a week to get in to have it fixed. If It gets swallowed it should be replaced for free since you have them waiting to get it fixed. This is poor service especially since the person paid over 5000 out of pocket.

MiKayla Ruble: I went to American family dental as a kid, I’m now 19 and have permanent damage to my teeth after Dr.Z decided to put braces on my teeth before I even turned 10 and was still losing teeth. I am about to lose my front tooth because she refused to take my braces off as a kid because my tooth was dying. I was shocked to see they are still open and how she’s able to still work here, I really don’t know. Save yourself and your children the future struggle and pain. This dental office and especially Dr. Z is a huge joke and Felt if I could save someone a visit I would.

Tiff Gar: Waited more than 30 minutes past appointment time, after showing up early to fill out paperwork. My daughter went for a general exam and cleaning. She came out almost in tears and I could tell right away something was wrong. She said the woman who cleaned her teeth was rough and the dentist who came in frightened her (her words were "she was like a mob boss"). The dentist didn't come out to let me know anything (if she did or didn't have any cavities, any additional preventative care needed, if my daughter needed to be doing anything different, if she had good dental health, etc..) which is what their previous dentist always did. When we got home she said it felt like there was cement on her teeth and I noticed some white stuff caked on. It seems like they overbook and I'm guessing they only do 1 cleaning at a time based on the waiting times I saw. On a positive note, the front desk people were very friendly.

This is the first time I have actually been hurt during x-rays. I was too scared to have her do actual work. Hopefully they replace her and I can start coming back. I do like Dr Zee though.

However I brought my girls for their 6 months check up today and the two individuals at the counter were rude and seemed to not want to be there.First of all the gentlemen that checked me in told me that one of my girls had no info on file She has been going for 17 years. After getting her out back into the system, and waiting 10 minutes past our scheduled appointment time , 2 people went ahead of us.It is now 32 min past my appointment time and I have to return to work.I asked about the delay and the gentleman rudely said they are checked in. The girl laughed!!They are more interested in watching the Food Network them doing their job!!! I am not impressed!! Very unprofessional and not a good first impression for new clients

Hannah Chamless: I started seeing dr X when I was 7 years old. Never went to another dentist until recently because Jordan valley provides dental to ob patients. (Remember I’m on Medicaid while reading this and have been my whole life) I’ve had countless fillings through dr z. I received a filling today where I was numbed with needles. Dr z never once numbed me. Through every filling I’ve had I’ve never been numbed. Neither has any other Medicaid patients at dr z office. My mom went to dr z pay out of pocket and was numbed. I didn’t even know they were supposed to numb you. I feel so neglected by dr z. I was pregnant with my first had some bad pain and dr z said nothing was there and gave me sensitive toothpaste. 2 months later something that was nothing turned into me needing a root canal somehow.Now after routinely going to dr z last visit in March seeing my new dentist in June my new dentist said I have 6 cavities that had to be neglected and ignored for over a year and may even need another root canal. Lady is exstreamly unprofessional. I’m so disappointed that I went there my whole life and was being neglected. I’m sure they were charging Medicaid for the numbing I never received as well.

Shawn K: I called to see if I could get a crown and dental work done at their facility. They said yes and scheduled me an appointment and a cleaning. When I got there they said that my insurance is not covered for them to do a crown and referred me to Jordan Valley of all places.My cleaning was pathetic. I floss better at home than they did when cleaning my teeth. I had to take my daughter there a few days later for her scheduled cleaning and it lasted all of 2 mins. They had horrible flavor for fluoride. with no options for kids?The dentist said I needed to have a tooth pulled in addition to the crown. I got a 2nd opinion and they were able to repair both of my teeth. This Dentist was in a hurry and does not have compassion I would not go. I wish I had read the reviews before coming to this facility.

John Shepard: When being a dentist you should be more worried about teeth, and cleaning them and doign your job. Than worrying about if somebodies parent is paying for them or treating them a certain way because of it.

Scott: Sent me to get a root canel, got the root canel done and was told to let them know so they could fit me for a crown. Set up an appointment, discussed pricing and we were set. Called me the day before my appointment to confirm and make sure I would be there. Next day, day of appointment, call me and tell me they no longer do crowns. Supposed to have permanent crown done 4-6 weeks after root canel. Since they decided to take my appointment, confirm my appointment a week later to then decide 16 hours after confirming my appointment they no longer do crowns. It left me stressing on finding someone else to get the work done in the next 4-5 weeks, that I would then be a new patient with, so of course that was not easy. Now have to wait a month to get this takin care when they could have sped up the process initially by just being honest.... Do yourself a favor and find another dentist even if you initially have to wait a little longer!!

Katheren Noriega: I called to get assistance with my jaw pain and my cleaning, no issue said they could assist and got me scheduled within a week. Walked in was greeted and they were very polite. Even had dual coverage and the gentleman in the front clarified which one needed to be listed first.Walked back and the assistant starts telling me oh your jaw hurts because you grind your teeth and to get a mouth guard. Expressed I am aware and have been doing that, it now is weird. She goes oh well what are you wanting us to do. I reminded her what my appt was for. I sat down in the chair the dentist came in and said just so you’re aware I can not assist with jaw pain that has to be an oral surgeon. I asked why their website advertise as her specializing in it. She said she assisted many years ago but doesn’t do it anymore. So website was misleading but please still do my cleaning. She then asks the hygienist that was assisting another patient to come over to me real quick and look at my teeth. Did not think that was professional . Had to leave due to a phone call but as I am leaving I asked for my paperwork to be shredded the gentleman that I thought was polite and professional provided a different vibe and said he will get back to me in 1-2 business days on the decision from office manager and owner. I said no, you can go talk to them right now. The dentist/owner suggested to mark it out with a pen then white out. Finally cut my social out with scissors. I am just so shocked how this office is still open. Never going there againReply to owner: you ask me to go look at a specific place on your website but you have two other places contradicting what you have stated. Clearly looking at your below reviews, my review is not false. It is very unprofessional and disappointing on how you handled this situation and how you are handling it now. Wish you the best and I’ll attach screenshots from your website. Maybe do an update so it is not misleading and train your staff that schedules to not continually schedule people for things you do not offer. I am not able to attach picture to this review but I did upload them to the photos so you can see your website is misleading.

They never asked me any questions, they just took x-rays, BARLEY touched my teeth while cleaning them and then told me I had no issues. I find that hard to believe since my teeth are sensitive and I have an obvious crack in my back tooth. The cleaning job they did was TERRIBLE. There is now a sharp part on the back of my tooth cutting my tongue from where she supposedly cleaned the back of my teeth. I am so irritated with this place and will not be back. Just a waste of your money. Do not go here.

Kortnee Danley: The staff is friendly! However, back in November I went in to see what my options were to slightly adjust my teeth (I had braces way back when and broke my retainers YEARS ago). At my first visit I was told that we can either do a surgery to lower my teeth as one half grew lower than the other, then braces, and obviously a retainer. Or we could simply do retainers (spring retainer for bottom) for slight overlapping on the bottom and a top to keep them from moving any further and that is what I chose to do. Today (6/5/23) I go to get my impressions done and all of a sudden my teeth have moved so much since November my only options are braces or nothing at all. My teeth must be extra terrestrial for moving in such a short amount of time. I will be getting a second opinion.

jessica: I went and had 11 molars pulled 2/23/21. Let me tell you that everyone in the staff is amazing they all go above and beyond to make you feel important! I have never had this great of an experience anywhere else from check in to check out the staff is lovely. My dental hygienist Amanda was an absolute angel she always made sure I was comfortable and cleaned up and was so attentive to my needs even if I didn't know I needed them. Dr Nathan Bauer was an absolut sweet heart as well I never felt any of the shots and he was always asking if I was ok and making sure nothing hurt and if anything seemed like it did he would stop immediately and apologize. This was the best experience I have ever had and I am so excited for the rest of my work to get done here I could not have asked for a better place to be than at 417 smile's everyone should go here. You won't regret it you actually feel like family here!! ☺️

Kimberly Tschannen: Issue after issue. I don’t even know where to start. Anyone on the dental side of this office are all super nice. The ladies in the office part are incredibly rude. I took my son there for a dental exam, dentist over looks a forming cavity saying she likes to wait for the actual cavity to form. 4 months later my son is in such pain with an open HOLE in his tooth. Dentist said she probably should have filled it, I agree. I wish she would have but then she tried to blame it on poor dental hygiene. Take him to another exam, they over look a cyst that had formed on his gum. They noticed it a week later during a filling. When it comes to trying to check out of the building be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes for the lady to not figure out what she’s doing with insurance. They feed you all these different prices until you call your insurance company yourself to figure it out for them. I am completely disgusted with the way things are handled and how we were treated. Parkcrest Dental is where we have switched and they are AMAZING! They are fixing the issues that were not dealt with correctly.

Recently, my 10 year old chipped her front adult tooth on tile and I made a call to their emergency phone number on a Wednesday night at 730 pm. I left a vm and received a return call within 10 minutes. They worked me in their schedule at 8 am the next morning. They were able to build the tooth back up and you would never know she ever chipped it. Amazing job!

We have numerous long standing customers that travel from Lebanon, West Plains, Branson, Osage Beach and even as far as Kansas City to see the doctor. He is honest, reasonably priced and stands by his work. I have personally seen him drive patients to a specialist office or lab for consults because he cares that much. If you’re looking for a dentist give us a try! We also have a great hygienist and our dental assistant is great at putting people at ease.

Kirk Reisner: Dr. Ledford has been my family dentist for about 10 years. My kids love him and fight over who gets in the chair first. He has my kids best interest at heart and also understands budgets. He can prioritize items and when another dentist said we would need a pediatric oral surgeon his attitude was lets try, see how they do and then we will decide if we need an oral surgeon. That attitude saved us several thousand dollars. He has amazing patience with kids.

steve myrick: My wife had a 3 hour appt today to fix a bridge that was dislodged after a recent endoscopy procedure. I expected her to return in tears, but she came home instead with a smile on her face. Now, the anesthesic hadn't worn off yet. So, I'm sure she will be sore soon enough. She explained how she walked into the room, which was a little on the cold side... now, they immediately covered her with a warm blanket and a towel that had aromatherapy to calm her down. I was impressed with how well they treated my wife, who actually lost sleep the night before.
