Pickwick & Cherry: what do users think?
Mara Cressey: Had an amazing experience here for their Comfort Food date night cooking class! Katie was an amazing host and instructor. The atmosphere was fun and intimate and we learned a LOT! We definitely plan on coming back soon. Thank you!
David Ransin: Wonderful experience having great fun sharing with strangers learning new prep techniques and eating fabulous food under gregarious Katie's careful guidance, you cannot go wrong!
Catherine Upp: Katie is such an accomplished baker!Pickwick & Cherry provided the cakes for our wedding and made incredibly flavorful individual cakes for all of our guests.Katie really worked with my husband and I to create flavors based on flavors we love, and that fit our theme! We are so thankful Katie made our wedding cake!
Taryn Huffman: I just had the best chocolate covered strawberries I have ever had in my life. Not only were they huge, but they were so flavorful! They were so good I’ve already eaten 2 of the 3 I bought! I’m regretting not getting more!
Elena Irvin: Katie is an amazing cook, a fun teacher, and ever a performer. We laughed, we cried, we cooked. What else could you ask for?! I’d buy anything she’d sell me, especially if I could eat it. We will be returning for more classes!
Bella Rose: Took a Valentine Cookie Decorating Class today & Katie was AMAZING! Such a great teacher, & nice cozy atmosphere. As well as the cookies being super yummy! Thank you for the COVID precautions. What a hidden gem. I’ll definitely be back for another class.
Shelly Clark: This is Springfield’s hidden gem! My go to place for specialty cakes, holiday menus, and pickup gourmet treats on the way to a friends house! I have loved the classes, and will go back many more times to get personal instruction and amazing food! ***Special shout-out for keeping us safe during these uncertain times!! ***
Rob Thomas: The Christmas cookies were an absolute HIT at my house! You don’t need to be in Missouri to enjoy the culinary masterpieces this bakery has to offer. Not only delicious, but works of art.Excited to visit someday to take one the cooking classes!
Susan Tharp: Not local? That’s okay. Order tea online. Get the Scottish Toffee Puer. It’s so delightful. And then add some truffles to your order. You won’t regret it.
Merr Hunt: We've been to a few classes here and they've been wonderful. Today we made pie! Katie is a treat and full of fun energy. I really appreciate the COVID precautions that she has in place to keep us safe and our community healthy. We're looking forward to signing up for another class soon.
Amy Danford: Great pie baking class today - Katie is always fun and entertaining! Also grateful for the policies intended to keep the community safe. Can’t wait til next time 💜
Justin Burnett: I purchased several Christmas treats from this establishment and appreciated the quality of the product, shop hospitality, and their commitment to a safe shopping environment in the age of COVID-19. This business is a responsible community partner.
Patricia Watson: Wonderful pie making class today! I learned so much. Thank you for your vaccination policy, helping to keep us safe.
Robert Stevens: Make sure to read any fine print. My wife and son drove an hour and half to the pie making class only to find out they could not attend because they did not have proof of COVID vaccination nor have they had the vaccination. They were asked if they would wear a N95 mask if they stayed and after they agreed to that were told that others were not comfortable with that and were asked to leave with no refund.
James Clarke: Been twice and loved it.
C Cunningham: This is one of the greatest treasures of Springfield. I recommend them for any occasion, special or just self care luxury. Everything is exquisite, Katie is masterful in her craft. Lgbtqia safe. I can't say enough good things about this place.
Bonni Douglas: I love the cooking classes, I will be glad when it's safe to go back to those but for now we are happy with pickup orders. Their holiday foods and cakes have always been amazing. If you want to really wow at a birthday party or baby shower, this is where you call for cake and cookies and pie
Lauren Lavo: I went to a croissant and puff pastry baking class. It was so much fun! I went to a croissant class at Sur la Table a few years ago in Dallas, and it was very informative but not nearly as much fun. The teacher at B&B loves to bake and made the whole experience an adventure! And at the end, you get to take home a whole pastry box of warm, delicious pastries. It was such a great experience. I’m going to try the dinner date classes next time. Like one of the other reviews mention, the kitchen is small, but it only adds to the ambience and the general feeling that you’re a part of the family!
Fawn Warner-Rechkemmer: I visited this super cute bakery in a very hidden location for the first time today. Located in the back side of the white two story building that faces Pickwick, you'll feel like you've found a secret treasure when you arrive. Cookies, cakes, and other treats are festooned about, and you get a full-on view of the bakery work spaces. The two ladies I interacted with were very friendly as they made batter and decorated cookies. I was buying a gift card, but also snagged a couple yummy macarons. I will definitely be back to try more of all the amazing goodness I saw!
R Sapp: Difficult to find, but the food is really good. Got king cakes from them last year and they were a big hit at the office
Matt Case: Here is my Haiku Review for Katie (xoxo):My life needed youAlmond croissant ecstasyBaking divine bliss

Hy-Vee Bakery: what do users think?
Christine Adams: Ordered a Frozen cake for my daughter's birthday party. The lid of the box didn't close all the way and pushed the Anna and Elsa decor into and across the cake. Perhaps get boxes that properly fit your cakes or don't put decorations on at the store for them to get destroyed. Heard wonderful things about hyvee cakes and I'm sure it tastes fine but if it were my business, I would never want a cake leaving my establishment like this.
Alicia Quick: In short, the cake tastes amazing and they are great for just walking and buying a cake, but doing a special order was a complete nightmare.I ordered a wedding cake from HyVee. They have a display section of wedding cakes with many intricate designs, so I thought it would be perfect. We got a free sampler plate to pick which cakes we wanted, and they were DELICIOUS. Lots of options to choose from, and they tasted amazing. Everything after that was a mess. We put in our order over a month before the wedding. The manager we spoke too sounded very confident that they could do what we were asking. I emailed the store a reference picture with a short list of changes, and they replied thank you. The cake was to be three tier, white and sage green icing, gold leaf in a couple spots, and some gold geometric lines on the bottom tier. We were told we would be called about 2 weeks before the wedding with a final price. 2 weeks pass, and we hear nothing. Another week passes, and still nothing. We had to call them to ask for the price, and they said that they didn't have a picture of the cake we wanted. I know they had it before because I got a reply email. They also told us that the manager who did our order was on vacation. I texted them the same picture again. A day or two later we get a call saying they can’t do the gold leaf or the gold geometric lines unless I bring in the supplies (this is a Hy-Vee policy issue, not a bakery issue because of the difference between “nontoxic” and “edible”) I wasn’t upset that they couldn’t do it, but I was upset that they’ve had at least 3 1/2 weeks to figure it out, but 5 days before the wedding they can’t do 90% of the design. I was also told another reason that they didn’t have hardly any supplies or tools was because “We’re a grocery store, not a bakery.” So I’m running around town frantically trying to find edible gold leaf and pre-cut gum paste. (I’m also not super knowledgeable about gum paste, but after talking to another bakery, they said you can’t buy pre-cut gum paste because that’s not how it works. Even if it was pre-cut, it would still have to be trimmed to fit the cake. Hy-Vee said they didn’t have the tools to cut it, but it sounded to me like it could be cut with just a butter knife. I could be wrong about this part, but I didn’t have a lot of faith at this point.) After wasting my time driving around, I found nothing and had to tell them to change the design of the cake 3 days before the wedding. We still had not been told a price. The morning of the wedding, I had to call and ask what the price was and pay over the phone. When we saw the cake, it was good, not great. The sage green was more of a yellow green (not cute for a wedding cake). The people I talked to were always polite, but it was just a really rough experience. So again, they’re great for just buying a pre made cake, but I wouldn’t do a custom order ever again.
Mariah Williams: A simple ordering process. Variety and adaptability. Delicious and reasonable cupcakes. I was so happy to work with HyVee Bakery for my wedding!
Carmelita Talbert: Grocery store filled, with many varieties of merchandise and products. Love the idea of having a butcher, on the scene, to cut steaks and wrap the selected meat per pound in individual wrapping paper. Also have baggers available to bag your merchandise. Overall, the staff was friendly and helpful.
Renee Fox: I ordered a cake for my mother's 80th birthday. A two-tiered round cake with rosetts around the bottom and scrolling around the top. When I called back the next week, I spoke with the young lady that said she would be making the cake. She had a picture. I talked with her in length about the color. As everyone's interpretation of color is different, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't pink. I did not want it like the picture which was more pink in color. I wanted it to be a dusty rose almost mauve color. I used those exact words. She said she understood. So when my sister picked the cake up, it was pink. Like baby shower pink. Seriously! So while the cake was very pretty and looked very similar to the picture, it was pink. We obviously ate it and it was good. (my mother of course had no idea it was the wrong color). But I was disappointed cause I know she doesn't really care for the color pink. So long story short, make sure your on the same page as the Decorator. And yes I would still go back there for another cake.
Barbara Kerr: We got a gluten-free cake for a visiting relative who needed it. I thought it was delicious and such a nice selection you have. We don't have that here in Republic so it was worth the drive. Thank you for being there for us.
Harriett Long: Hy-Vee did such an amazing job on our wedding cake! They made our visions come to life. They are so understanding and want to make sure you get what you asked for. The cake was so good and everyone at the reception loved it. I would highly suggest coming to Hy-Vee Bakery for any dessert needs!
Eric Weiskopf: Helpful people
Braulio Reyes: Awesome fresh baked bread.
John Dick: Good food and good selectio
Daniel Hahn: Hy-Vee's Deli is second-to-none and they're Bakery second to none if you need it they probably got it if they don't you don't have to do it on your own
Doreen Martin: Great bakery selection. Friendly staff
Dan Person: The bread are so good. Lots to choose from with it all! Cakes, pies, pastries, donuts...go get some!
