Trent Wood Switzer: Upon interning the Old Post Office buiding for a 9:00am appt. at the Secretary of States office,, I was rudely confronted by security officer "Eugene". Just waiting for my party to appear to file official documents before the first of the year, Eugene insulted me, implied Iwas homeless & called the Police. New security needed.

Scott Joplin House State Historic Site: what do users think?
Zoolyness: Such a wonderfull experience. The staff were nice and the history of it was interesting.
Tara Tesreau-Boggs: After seeing an informative video, we toured the house. We were also treated to a superb Ragtime concerto by Royce, who, along with Sarah, answered our many questions in an unhurried manner.SO GLAD we came!Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure Price for adult entry $6–10 …More
Andy Shoup: Learned more about Joplins life for the brief period he lived at this address. Also had a wonderful spontaneous performance by an artist Royce Martin who played some of Joplins work and explained the homogenous nature of America's only genre of music invented here.Generally the neighborhood vibe can leave you feeling uneasy, there are plenty of run down buildings, but where the Joplin house is felt good enough to tour the house.
Боря Голынский: Very personal experience, with helpful guides.
Mickey Hall: I thought this would be a cool place because I'm a music nerd, however I don't think it's worth the cost. The only connection of this location to Scott Joplin is his name on the records for having lived there. They have done a good job restoring the house and some of the information about the local geography is interesting, however I wouldn't recommend it to a friend. The coolest part was the player piano, you can listen to some Joplin tunes on their antique player piano. Save your $6/person :(
Saradhi Cheruvu: Went to this place with my son who is very much interested in Scott's music. I personally learnt a great deal on Scott. The person who walked us through is very knowledgeable and very passionate.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry $6–10 …More
Kellon Sandall: Scott Joplin is so cool! When I found out they have a museum about him, I had to check it out. It was cool to see the piano play some of his ragtimes.
Alex Demas: We really enjoyed our little tour here. We got to learn a lot about Scott Joplin and what St. Louis at that time was like, as well as what life as an itinerant musician was like. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and I loved getting to listen to an old player piano and finally find out how they work. They do tours on the hour every hour, so if the website that lets you make reservations only shows tours in the afternoon, call and they’ll add you to a morning tour if you want.
Rick Fortner: A must-see. Excellent docent on the tour.Highly recommended while you are visiting Saint Louis.Visited on Weekend Wait time Up to 10 min Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry $6–10 …More
Sloane Wood: We visited this museum yesterday. Our tour guide was a wealth of information - she had done extensive research into Scott Joplin. She was able to explain how this location was instrumental in Joplin being able to publish and promote his music while he was there. She was also well-versed in the history of the site and was able to vividly describe what life was like in the city during Joplin's time there, including the local ragtime music scene during the time of the St. Louis World's Fair. There was a working player piano that the guide will demonstrate for you as part of the tour.If you're an educator or musicologist, there's a wealth of resources for purchase. If you're a t-shirt fan, you can get a t-shirt with art from Joplin's published music. The tour was only $6 per person - it was worth much more.Your trip to St. Louis isn't complete until you visit the Scott Joplin house! Don't miss this treasure!
Philip Castaneda: Very experienced staff and the museum is well maintained
Sonya Ayers: Fun, informational...I had great time experiencing history.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry $6–10 …More
Ronald Wyatt: The Joplin House state Historic Site is a wonderful Museum. It has a very informative display of exhibits of the way Scott Joplin lived. He was best know for composing and playing Ragtime music. He was a outstanding composer. I highly recommend visiting this Museum. He was an African American Composer of Ragtime Music. He was born in 1868 and died in 1917 at the age of 48.
Colleen Rittmeyer: Even my 9 yo said it was a great museum!
NASRIN RAHMAN NODI: So beautiful
Brittani Gordon: Very informative, loved it
Constance Johnson: Great place to learn about Scott Joplin.
Brittany Rule: This place was SO COOL. Would definitely recommend for any music nerd, or anyone who just loves Ragtime!
Justin Earnest: I did not get a chance to tour as it was closed when i arrived. Will have to make a return trip to St Louis to check it out.
Jessica Garcia: Was close when we got here, but still nice to see from the outside
Joseph Wagner: My girlfriend and I absolutely loved the Scott Joplin House! The tour guide (I think his name is TJ; he has a British accent) was super informative and passionate about Joplin and ragtime and his job. He told us so much fascinating information. I give him 11/10 stars! There were two gentlemen at the end of the tour who played some of Joplin's ragtime music for us on the piano! Super awesome!I highly recommend this state historic site to anyone else who is interested in Saint Louis history or ragtime history! This was probably my best experience I've ever had with a state historic site!

Sugarloaf Mound: what do users think?
Jessica Vargas: I didn’t know this was here until I posted a picture of the billboard on Facebook and asked if anyone knew what it meant. Someone works nearby and had heard about it.
Frank Hunt: The fact that has not been bulldozed is amazing.
Ken Oberle: This mound is of great significance to the history of the area, from the ancient thriving native civilization here from 600-1300AD to the modern locals that lived there for 90 years, preserving the last remaining mound in "Mound City". Now returned to the Osage Nation, this will be a great place to visit and learn the origins of the area. The interpretive center has not been built yet (as of 2022). There is no parking or admission to the mound for now, so admire and reflect from afar and look for the upcoming venue, but please be patient and do not trespass.
Nicolas Kemper: Very striking. Only surviving mound on this side of the river. Would be nice to be able to go onto the top.
Kyle Osterberg: The last Native American burial mound in St. Louis. St. Louis's nickname was Mound City. Now Sugarloaf mound is all that is left. You cannot go on to the mound, but you can view it through the fence. It is currently owned by the Osage Nation.
Philip Newell: It is wonderful that this burial mound has been preserved and that control has been returned to the Osage Tribe! You can benefit from seeing it from outside of the fence. There are no facilities and parking is very limited. Contemplate the cultural history represented by this monument.
Anthony Winebarger: Mega Hub prehistoric activity
John Love: Finally a ancient Native American Mound, not that far from home! WOW! thats great, i hope to visit also.I added the google maps url to my Tomb Raider, facebook, google maps page, to 5,000 people
Gordie Hanna: The house is now gone and it's just fenced off. I wish there was signage stating the significance of the mound to St Louis.
Alex Long: It's an amazing sight but do not trespass
