onetwocue: Knowledgable guy working there. Fish are super healthy. Vacationed in st louis from iowa and they had the fish i needed. Im doing a species only tank and needed more females for breeding. I was worried about the 4 hour drive home with them. They made it home safely and are eating and doing amazing with my original fishes.

Brian Van Hoosier: A store for a true hobbiest. Their selection is versatile and priced accordingly. Sometimes the staff seems a little edgy but any questions get answered. Never had anything but success with all their plants and animals.

Their tanks are individual (vs. all connected like petco and petsmart) so no risk of getting a diseases from one of the other tanks. They check their fish constantly and would never sell a fish with any issues. Mike and Garret are very helpful on specialty fish and which fish do best together based on your tank size.Highly recommend this place.

Denny Mk: Went there for the first time today and was very pleasantly surprised of how professional the employee was! While all aquariums appeared to have diversity of healthy fish and plants, there were two with tape on the front glass. I wanted to buy a fish from one of those tanks, taking the risk on my own, but was prevented by the same guy because they will not sell sick fish! That's a HUGE plus in my book. I think if most of the aquarium fish stores stick to this policy we'll have happier aquarists and less people giving up on fish keeping because of buying sick fish that die in few days.Ended up buying some Prime and water wisteria plant.Highly recommend this place to any aquarium fish keeper and will definitely visit them again!

DaMusicMane1: Let me start by saying the employee who I spoke with a couple of times is VERY knowledgeable about aquarium fish which I greatly appreciate, HOWEVER this particular person's demeanor towards a customer who is new to aquarium fish or learning is kind of "brash" and off-putting. I spoke with this person a couple of times and his tone was very condescending, as if I was dumb for asking questions or if I get my terminology incorrect. I called him before and it felt as if he was in rush. Just not a very pleasant, friendly experience in my opinion. To me, you can have all the knowledge in the world, but if your tone is unwelcoming, then I will avoid that person for a better experience. Now I don't know if it was because there are other factors that determine how he treats customers, but to me if I speak with respect, I expect the same in return.

This store always has cheerful, helpful, and very nice people that work there. They are all very knowledgeable in helping you find what is the best items for whichever pet you buy. I have been going there many years, and have never had a problem with this Petco store. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone needing a pet or any pet supplies.

Aaron Dunajcik: I really want to support a local fish store but starting to see a real pattern of buying sick fish from here. Part of it's on me for not having a dedicated quarantine tank but they certainly don't quarantine or use preventative meds. Just bought a really cool Betta and a couple of Cory Cats and the Betta and 1 Cory is dead along with several of my long time healthy Cardinals and Kuhlis. Betta was healthy and lively till he got in with the other fish then the fin rot set in. Treated with salt and Kanaplex but was too late as multiple fish had already died. Had issues in the past with sick fish and never said anything, tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. Shame since I avoid Tropical World for similar issues in the past. Also prices seem to be getting raised higher than other local stores.

Juan Vila: It hurts me to do this to a mom and pop aquarium shop but it's places like this that ruin the hobby for many people... Went in for the first time and I didn't find anything I was interested in. Some neat stickers caught my eye so I figured— you know what, let me purchase SOMETHING to support the LFS. They were priced at $3 each and I asked if I could get x4 for $10. No big deal if they couldn’t do that. I use to work at an aquarium shop and would be more than happy to either bargain or politely let customers know that the price is fixed. The individual working there (short haired blonde guy) immediately tells me “This isn’t Walmart or Homedepot, you can do that over there but not here”. I politely told him— “okay no big deal, I’m not saying this is like Walmart. I use to work at a shop and bargaining was never an issue but I totally get.”. I was actually in the process of pulling out the extra $2 to purchase them full price when the guy snapped at me again explaining that this isn’t Walmart, go somewhere else, etc etc in front of the rest of the customers. At this point I put my money back in my wallet, politely let him know that I don’t appreciate how rude he is being, and left. The only first impression this LFS accomplished is losing my trust and business. Best of luck guys.

Corey Fitzpatrick: This is the best aquarium store in St. Louis. And I’ve been to them all. No other store comes close to the aquatic plant and aquascape selection. Mind blowing corals, a full reptile, tarantula, and dart frog section. Tons of rare freshwater and saltwater fish. Driftwood, seiryu stone, high end aquatic shrimp. They have it all. Beautiful old building with 10 foot tin ceilings, urban jazz music in the background. Even if you don’t have a fish tank grab a drink or a bite at one of the 6 or 7 restaurants on the block, and take a stroll through the aisles like I did. You may just end up leaving with a new hobby…

Story time.... last night the checkout line suddenly got long and a manager opened a third lane. I was next and walked up. A woman who wasn't in line walked right up to the second register. Patrons told her to get back in line, but were waved off by the entitled customer. Instead of making a scene, the manager looked up and said loudly to her two employees working the other registers, "Please give the next three people in line $10 off their purchase". Kudos to this manager. She did not allow the situation to escalate and gained the loyalty of three customers.
Alesia: Kevin was great to my little girl!!! She looked really nice, neat and well groomed. Kevin really took care of her. She was so happy. He was courteous and kind. I truly recommend him to anyone.
Nic Harvey: I took my dog to groomer today for bath and trim not pleased with the groomer today. I was there fo 3.5 hr my dog was not fully dry her nails where clip but not filed they have jagged edges and her tail was not brushed because she was damp when I picked her up. $It took 3.5 hr my dog is 4lbs. At most it takes 2 hr. This is not the first time. I WILL NOT USE PETSMART GROOMERS EVER....

Heather Kristof: A free groom should mean FREE, not one part is free but you still have to pay for a materials fee and another fee. If it is FREE, why did I still have to pay almost $14. I would have given a bigger tip if I didn’t have to pay the extra $14 that should have been part of the cost of the groom. Prices have gone up so much in the past year, I won’t be using Petco anymore for grooming.

Tim Dye: Purchased a 75gal Aquarium on line for pickup at the store. On arrival, they had the item waiting at the front of the store. I was in and out in less than 5 Minutes and the Associates were very nice and helpful!!!

Nikki Messenger: Petco is a fine store that sells the wet cat food I prefer to buy but I cringe having to go bc almost every cashier in a bunch of locations I've been to feel the need to tell every customer their life story or what's going on with their work scenario and it makes for a long wait when checking out. It's not that I don't care bc I feel for these people bc I know what it's like to have a bad day at work or otherwise.....we all have those days, but it's not professional and honestly its extremely awkward. I'm pretty sure this is not how Petco wants their customers to feel in order to just buy some pet food. If chewy were cheaper on the brand of cat food I buy, I would have switched to delivery service completely already.

Explorers: The staff is very kind and helpful. They will help you find the pet you're looking for based on your experience of handling pets. We went in hoping to get a gerbil and ended up coming out with the idea of getting a guinea pig instead. If this isn't marketing and power of conviction, I don't know what is.
Jessica Warren: So I LOVE my puppy. He is my handsome boy and he is spoiled and Idc! It is so important to me for my baby boy to eat right and have as many toys and treats as possible. I feed him Blue Puppy Formula and Id like to buy it at PetSmart because I have the rewards. They never have the dog food I want to purchase and they don't get new toys in EVER. Please PetSmart get some new toys in. Employees are helpful once you find one and ask for help.

Kyla Thompson: I’ve bought a fish from here before and it died two days later. Haven’t been back since. We bought a beta from another pet shop and he’s been living just fine in our fishbowl for the past year. Recently it broke while cleaning it, so tonight, I came to buy a replacement tank for my beta fish and we decided to get the dual beta fish tank (that’s advertised as that’s what’s it’s for). When just asking Maya (one of the employees) a simple question as to what fish could go together and what our plans were, she got very rude with me. I understand that there are certain rules that she has to abide by (and explain) to uphold store rules, but think she needs to be trained on how to relay this information to the customers. I did not come off argumentative, was just asking a couple questions, and am glad to know not to add a third fish to this tank as it won’t work well. After she answered, I decided to just use the tank as advertised with two fish and the divider. This tank still gives more room than what my fish currently has. Maya became even more defensive and rude. Needless to say, I won’t be back to this Petsmart.

They always help with the items that I am looking for my complaint is it corporate will let dogs come in and it’s in their policy that these employees will clean up after other peoples dogs because they’re too inconsiderate to clean up after themselves, and I almost stepped in it it’s disgraceful and you should protect your employees and put a sign up. Do you clean up after yourself or don’t bring your pet in the pet store frankly if you don’t agree with what I’m saying, you’re a lowlife
