St. Louis Cremation: what do users think?
Denise Sielfleisch: I found this service to be very supportive. I had to call from an Airport to get things lined up in a race to see my mom before she passed. I was on the phone coordinating between this and Hospice and they did a great job and took control. They were courteous and understanding. They did a great job on the posting of the obituary and helping me along the way. I would highly recommend
Mary Ewing: Everything was professionally and Lacey is such a great person to work with. We really enjoyed her
John Dolan: Great compassion and follow up.
TJ Kingsbury: Great experience during a horrible time in my life. They were so kind and courteous, showed compassion while helping me navigate the options and choose the best for our needs. The staff took time to answer all my questions and they were fast to get all of the paperwork filed and guide me through next steps there as well.Pricing is reasonable and they provide services in a dignified and beautiful way.Thank you to the staff at the downtown location for everything.
Bill Sidell: Very professional, and thoughtful in times of extreme grief.
kevin C: On behalf of our family, we'd like to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the care we received from St. Louis Cremation when my wife passed away in March. From the first call to the last, all were handled with empathy and professionalism that made a very difficult situation much easier. We'd like to thank Michaela and Oliver for their assistance guiding us through the process, both went above and beyond to insure everything went as smoothly as possible.
Sam Thompson: The whole staff was wonderful during our time of need but it was Lauren that really went out of her way to take care of us. Many thanks for all your caring and support.
Christian Smith: Very thorough and proficient
James Horn: Very respectful and nice ...just not sure what to say considering why I was there for
Larry Brown: I can’t in true confidence speak to your organization. I just don’t know anything about it. What I do know is your employee LaceyR is beyond a doubt a super person! My brother’s demise was totally unexpected. It was a 16 hour drive to get there and I had a very short time to do a lot of things. LaceyR made things happen. I spoke to her 3 or 4 different times and each time I spoke to her my situation narrowed the time she had to get me what I needed in the time I had. She didn’t loose it once! She simply said “I’ll see what I can do”. Then she did it. Time was my enemy and LaceyR was my friend, a friend of the family. I was comforted in knowing LaceyR was gonna get it done. I’ll close by saying this about your organization. If LaceyR is indicative of your personnel you got 1 heck of a company. And anyone who chooses to work with you has chosen well. Thank you LaceyR
Janet Stiebel: Our family is very satisfied with St. Louis Cremation. Oliver showed empathy and was kind, professional and helpful. The entire team was kind and respectful. Thank you.
John Surtin: Professional, courteous and prompt service with a gift for compassion and empathy, as well.
william k Halliburton: My wife and I had instructions written down for the Survivor of us to Call St. Louis Cremation at the death of the 1st to die. We hoped to die at home, but alas, it was not to be.I called St. Louis Cremation when my beloved Joan passed on in a hospital, and after a couple of attempts got connected to Lauren. Lauren was kind, very nice, and seemed to listen to the heart break of a 91 year old Widower. She was a big help, and advised me more than adequately to get the Cremation and Burial at Jefferson Barracks completed. I am very appreciative of the help, and assistance.
Patrick Owens: St. Louis Cremation was very helpful and quick in administering all the details and kept the process moving. Grateful for the National Body Donor Program. Thank you!
Brionna Wilson: Lacey was very helpful during such a difficult time in my life and I will forever appreciate and cherish the support she gave me!!
Patrick Cubbage: You were very pleasant to work with, and we appreciate the online obituary service.
Jackie Jackson: The service I received was excellent and everything completed in time stated.
Tammie Knight: SLC did everything we asked and were very easy and pleasant to deal with. They took care of everything and they also kept us up to date and communicated very well with us. Also very reasonable.
Peggy Slater: Alicia and Melissa were wonderful. They were patient with my repeated questions, proactive, accommodating and very professional. We made a last minute request that they took care of with no stress. I appreciated their approach through a rough few weeks.
Madonna Chew: Everyone here was very helpful with putting together last minute arrangements for my aunt. The staff are very nice people. The setup for the service was very inviting considering the circumstances. Thank you so much to everyone that helped especially Lauren.
Lana Kiefer: Professional and easy to deal with under stressful situation

lisa gipson: Everyone I spoke with was so very kind and patient. They are truly god-sent. Thank you very much for everything.
Terry Presley: Everything was wonderful. They treated us like family. The prices were very reasonable. The quality was very nice. I recommend Gateway for any kind of funeral service.
Rodney McGee: I can't thank John and Gateway enough from handling my cousins funeral. They worked closely with the family and explained each step along the way. The provided flexible options which ultimately made the process smooth. Gateway is a top tier provider and really appreciate their service during a difficult time for my family.
Delphine Holmam: Words can't explain my experience from beginning to end Rev Robinson made the home going and transitioning of my son a very memorable one to remember the patience empathy and kindness of the staff was outstanding I would recommend gateway to everybody and anybody thank you Rev Robinson for everything especially my throw with that Polo emblem on it makes me smile and cry at the same time.
Crevonda Cramer: Gateway did an excellent job with my love one. From start to finish their service was like no other. They are very caring and more importantly, they give a top notch service. Chris was caring and very professional. He was very patient and was extremely knowledgeable. Losing a love one is very hard. I am very thankful for Gateway. They most definitely go over beyond the call of duty and I feel blessed to have received their services.
Darlene B Rollin: I would like to take this time to say THANK YOU to the ENTIRE professional staff at Gateway Funeral and Cremation for their knowledge, follow-ups, and their patience while helping me through an difficult short notice matter while making the final funeral arrangements for my dad. The many different funeral and cremation service packages that GWFC offers were right within my budget. The services that GWFC rendered for my dad's final services are to be commended because my dad looked exactly like himself and so peaceful! The funeral procession to the Cemetery and the parting prayers via the GWFC staff went smoothly as well! I will most definitely use their services again and I will also recommend Gateway Funeral and Cremation to others too!Sincerely,Darlene B. Rollin
Michele Graham: From the moment I called them on the night of my son’s passing to the time I picked up his urn the staff at Gateway has been fantastic! They really care about grieving families. I would recommend them to everyone. I wish I could give them a million stars.
Joline Damon: This place was absolutely amazing in handling my husbands cremation. They kept me informed every step of the way. Sheron was the most helpful person I encountered during this entire process. Both staff members I spoke with had such a calming voice and you really have no idea how special that is until dealing with the death of a loved one. Thank you doesn't even cover the amount of gratitude I have for Sheron and her help. Plus you won't find a better price.
Erica Stewart: Don’t use this company!!!! They get 1 star based on how quickly they responded the day my father passed. However, to the date it has been 1 full month and they refuse to give us the managers phone number! I guess paying customers aren’t important enough for the contact information to escalate a situation. As of Friday last week 3.5 weeks after they took my father and my money these people had not cremated him or contacted the doctor to sign off on the process! The rep I spoke with could was completely unapologetic about where things stood and tried to blame the others instead of taking responsibility for the fact that they did absolutely nothing on this case. I do not believe that my dads body sat in a cooler grit a month! No way!!! Who’s ashes am I going to get? I have lost all trust in this company and their process as a grieving daughter I’m not sure who’s ashes I’m going to receive. Trust me this is a horrible feeling! To make maters worse I still haven’t heard from a manager! These people are not trustworthy! I guess my next stop is the BBB.
Sydney Jones: They truly took care of my family during the difficult passing of my little brother. They honored him so beautifully!! All anyone could say was that was a beautiful service. They truly showed out. We couldn’t thank them enough for their dedication and care to our family during this difficult time. Thank you!
Daryl Marsaw: I was recommended to Gateway Funeral and Cremation Center by a family member, for my fathers funeral service. My experience with their service has been nothing short of greatness! A lot of people would say you get what you pay for, but when it comes to this funeral service provider, my expectations were far exceeded, considering the cost of the service package and the great home going services they provided for my dad!Gateway Funeral and Cremation Center (GFCC) provided my family and I with services at a very affordable cost! They were very prompt and professional when transporting my father from the hospital morgue, to their funeral home location and also to my fathers church. GFCC did a wonderful job preparing dad for service. Dad was properly groomed and fitted for the services and looked very natural and alive on the day of service.GFCC staff made my family and I feel very comfortable when working with them to plan the funeral arrangements and the payment plan for the services. To be honest, GFCC made us feel like they were a part of our family too! If you're looking for an Affordable, Professional, Caring and Cost Efficient funeral service provider, then look no further, Because Gateway Funeral and Cremation Center is the place for your loved ones home going services. From my family and I, THANK YOU GFCC STAFF!!!
Jeanna Searcy: We want to express our utmost gratitude to Gateway Funeral & Cremation Center for the beautiful farewell you provided for my mother, Rose M Sykes. The personal service given from beginning to end was so much more than ever expected. While she rested in your care, every staff member provided impeccable professional service, with grace and unmeasured compassion. They truly treated us like family. The team took care of every detail and kept us fully informed during every step of the process. They seemed to be available for us 24/7 with an caring attitude and reassuring smile. There aren't enough stars on this review to indicate exactly how much we recommend Gateway for your family member's final resting care needs.
Judith Cucuro: My experience with Gateway was excellent! They worked with me , to accommodate my needed timeline! They were "very" helpful, through the whole process. They went above and beyond, in my behalf! I certainly highly recommend Gateway!
Consuella Meeks: The passing of our Patriarch was devastating. Gateway made the process of laying him to rest as respectful and peaceful as possible! The compassion, care and connection we experienced, changed the 'up in arms' family dynamic to one of love and reflection. Thank you for allowing us to grieve while you handled the business. We are now your crazy family for life!
Keesha Bunker: Gateway funeral home did a awesome job highly recommended. They went above and beyond for the family. The family was unable to make it to the funeral home to make the arrangements so they were kind enough to come to the family home. The home going service was beautiful, they even threw in a crowning ceremony that melted our hearts 💕 so if you are looking for an affordable and professional funeral home, Gateway Funeral and Cremation service is the best recommended place. Thank you
Barbara Campbell: If I could give 10 stars I would!! Professional, compassionate, humble are just a few things I can say about the staff and owner. I have used their services for 3 siblings and each time excellent service. The owner Mr.Robinson I can’t thank him enough for how he handles business.Chris who’s a director and handles the contract and your service specifications,I walked in crying and left out laughing. He walked through step by step no question went unanswered. I was reminded by them throughout the planning we’re here for you and they delivered on their word. If you have to handle services and want a dignified and cost efficient service ,you won’t be disappointed!!!
Milton Jackson: Just want give a thumbs up to this funeral home, they served my family with excellence. They went above and beyond to walk us through the process.
Shandrea-Charity States: When you are planning arrangements for your loved one Gateway is definitely the way to go. Not only is their pricing reasonable but the service you get for the price is remarkable. John and his team worked hard to provide my family with everything we needed for my brothers services. Even with limited time, we never felt rushed to make decisions and they exceeded our expectations. The team had so much compassion during the service and always treated him with care. Not to mention when we had last minute cancellations John stepped up and even kept the program moving along the day of. We are so thankful for Gateway during this difficult time!
charity ward: My experience from beginning to end was a smooth one. Christopher Blackwell was there from beginning to end making sure that my brothers and I were 100% satisfied. He worked day and night to make sure that my dad's last farewell was everything we wanted and needed for closure. All of the staff was respectful towards us and our family. I'm glad we chose Gateway funeral to watch over my dad until we laid him to rest. I'm pretty sure that my daddy is pleased. Thank you Gateway...
Edeena Crape: Incredibly professional staff very warm and welcoming clean environment. I was walked through the process and procedures of the what would be taking place and I was very satisfied with the results.
tasha norful: My father passed away 12/28, my family and I chose Gateway Cremation. We used them in 2018 when my mother passed away. Mrs Ellis is very compassionate, caring, and professional. She never had a problem with me calling her with any questions family or myself may have had. I do not know how to thank Mrs Ellis for her hard work words cannot express my appreciation. Thank You Mrs Ellis and Gateway Cremation

Bill Freeman: I recently worked with the team at Discount STL Cremation. My staff and I are often tasked with connecting those left behind, with the best resources for their budget. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical at first. Can this be true? A cremation starting at $600? From the moment their business phone was answered to the cremation being complete, I was met with professionalism, kindness, and compassion. The company is very upfront with their prices and offer additional services. No bait and switch pricing. There was an additional surcharge for the size/weight of the deceased. This is true for all mortuaries and crematoriums. With the surcharge and death registration fee, it was $740. That is all we wanted. There was no pressure to buy additional services. It was handled on the phone. I’m very pleased with this company. I will use them again if/when the need arises. I have been telling others about Discount STL Cremation since using their services. I will continue to recommend them to people for their caring, professional and affordable services.

Serenity Memorial Funeral and Cremation Service: what do users think?
Guan Simmons: I was great going but throughout days changed when suit was needed. Took off work early to make this happen for serenity. Went to view body hair was all over him make up on casket lining and then day of Funeral no one informed me that the system was down and that our dvd wasn’t going to play and it was paid for. I was told I will be reimbursed by the end of day that was 3/18/23 and nothing has happened. I value black owned businesses but this has to get better too many families use and need you guys. Don’t drop the ball !
shena debow: I would not recommend them at all. They had my son's property for two months without notifying me. Then when I went to retrieve his property I was told they threw some of his thing away. None of the staff cared or even apologize. The manager told me that the funeral home choose what to give the family and its was nothing else she could do.
Clarence Hutt: This place was outstanding from beginning to the end. I spoke with Ms.Person and she was very helpful and comforting. Mr. Johnson and Mr.Fraser were amazing. We truly could not have gotten through this difficult day without all of you. I appreciate everything that you did and it didn’t go unnoticed. Even after the service was done we needed to contact you and our needs were addressed in the same prompt stellar manner. I can’t thank you all enough. God Bless. Tamara Hutt
Mister Poke: Ms. Crystal and Mr. Darryl Rainey assisted my family with the services of my father. We will forever be indebted to them for their services. Everything we asked for was fulfilled and our father looked great.
Courtney Fowler: Serenity is a wonderful place to take your love one. They were compassionate with my 2 family members. I recommend people to go there.
Marquitta Prophete: Where do I begin…We were given a time to come sign papers, and Darren LEFT the building before we got there. Three people went around the building looking for him, and then called him. He left the paperwork out on the reception desk for my mother to sign (don’t know why you would leave information out like that) and she didn’t even know what she needed to sign. When he got back, there was never an apology for him not being there. The staff were rude. It’s like we were inconveniencing them. Don’t close at 5 and have your coat on ready to go at 4:15. After signing the paperwork, my mom asked if she could pay the balance, some guy came from the office saying’Yes, we’ll always take your money’ and that pretty much summed it up for me. The lady in the office was RUDE. She knew exactly who we were there to see and made a big deal over the balance because SHE didn’t read the whole paper. She had an attitude the whole time she was taking the balance because she thought it should have been more. You look at this paperwork all the time, you couldn’t see the insurance payment and the remaining balance?? My grandmothers makeup was much darker than her skin tone. I see a few shades but she’s very light and her makeup was as dark as my skin. They royally messed up the obituary, misspelling, wrong times and incorrect names. They were definitely on their own time because after the corrections were sent back, they still arrived at the wrong time. If a viewing was at 10, the body should be there no later than 945. My grandma didn’t show up until 10:45. Which makes sense because they put 11 for the viewing before my mother told them it was 10. Always was 10 and it was sent with the original information. They changed it. And even after knowing the correct time, still showed up when they wanted to. Changes were sent and they still printed out an error filled obituary. The flowers were incorrect and after being told that it would be corrected, they still were incorrect. Darren promised A LOT, even telling us that he would personally be there. It’s like he didn’t show up because he knew it was a mess. The family was not treated fairly at all. It was very disappointing. So many people said great things about their services. We were definitely let down and left disappointed. I will never recommend anyone to come here unless they are literally spending TOP dollar. And that’s a shame. I hope they get it together, no one should leave their loved ones in the hands of people who simply do not care and they did not.
He'sComingSoon: My husband just passed away on Friday. I went through Serenity Cremation and found the people there to be warm and caring and very professional. I thank God for them - they were a real blessing to me in my time of need.
Martez Prophete: These people do not care about their job and are only trying to get a check. We told them how we wanting things and they did what they wanted to do. We ask for a proof reading of the obituary on Friday and didn’t get to see it until the day of. So much was spelled wrong. They were late to the funeral, I don’t even know how that happened. These people just do not care and it’s heartbreaking to see considering they overpriced everything.please look for another place and do NOT go to these people
Charles Samples: The Staff at Serenity Memorial funeral home did a good job With my Brother-in-law Memorial Service , Musician was Great Mr,Steve ,Pastor Glen did a good job with the message to my Family and Close friends , From the family of Sylvester Smith Jr ! Sister and Brother-in-law Charles and Lannie Samples from Florida,
Foryea Evans: They weren’t bad with my uncle but I do have some complaints and stuff I just don’t recommend. Your family car driver should take consideration of other why do I say that? Because if it’s 30 something degrees you don’t the air off and especially for your own comfort. The obituary’s were wrong in a lot ways no one in the family told them to put the following on his obituary death date, religion, wrong personal information. The make up was horrible my uncle was not dark skinned how he got dark I don’t know. We didn’t ask for a face lift you all lifted his face too high almost didn’t recognize him. Also the plants that people sent to his spouse my aunt they were never given to her so I said that’s stealing. You all need to do better wasn’t that bad but you all need to fix these things.
Lance Bryant: The actual funeral home services were okay but the business handling side of things is TRASH! 1. Made an appointment to set arrangements and they double booked. 2. Met with director Crystal, whom wasn’t familiar with packages and took calls and messaging on her cell phone while we attempted to make arrangements. 3. We had services and awaited the arrival of death certificates to be able to settle the estate. It took over a month and a half, after the certificate was ready, for them to get it and call us. During this process Sherry (administrative assistant) made excuses and took no accountability over the phone and in person. Said she’d give my complaint to the manager, Tan Gates, who NEVER contacted me. All this after contracting to get an upgraded package. This place simply doesn’t treat this like a business and should NOT be trusted by families during such a rough transition.
Maurice Brown: Serenity Funeral Home is the absolute worst place to say goodbye to your loved one. They’re truly cold hearted crooks. Their very responsive when it comes to money, but when it came to taking care of my late spouse, myself, and my family they showed no compassion no concern. I wholeheartedly regret listening to family and friends regarding the utilization of their services. This has been a daily regret, I plead with you go somewhere else.As I said before when it came to money they were very responsive, they contacted me left and right. Because of COVID we were unable to view his body at the hospital, I explained this to Pastor Rainey and asked him could I see my husband when he arrived and Pastor Rainey promised me I would be able to see him. My husband’s funeral was on a Monday at 10:00 a.m. and I did not get to see my husband until the Saturday before his funeral. When we arrived on Saturday we were taken to the back to view him. When we saw him I had no idea who it was in the casket. The only way I was able to recognize him was by a scar on his hand. He was 10 shades darker and looked nothing like his former self. I addressed these concerns with Pastor Rainey and the staff, and they assured me they would correct it and allow me to view him again before we have his service. The makeup artist stated he didn't want to put makeup on my husband, because he would look like he had makeup on. That infuriated me, because his skin tone was 10 shades darker. The makeup artist agreed to put makeup on my husband after our cousin stepped in. After leaving I received a text from Pastor Rainey asking me to send him a picture of my late husband. I sent him a picture and he assured me he would make it right.I never heard back from Pastor Rainey, so on Monday (the day of the funeral) I arrived at the funeral home at 8:30 am. I was the first person there and patiently waited in my vehicle. One of the funeral directors arrived and asked why was I there. I explained the story to him and he told me he had no idea I was coming or that I had issues with the look of my husband. After making a few phone calls the gentleman allowed me to view my husband. They did absolutely nothing to him. Again I complained and the gentleman contacted the makeup artist. The makeup artist arrived at 9:30, then he left to go get his makeup supplies. He didn't arrive back until 9:50, and my husband’s funeral was at 10:00 a.m. When I asked him to put makeup on him for the second time, the makeup artist stated my husband would look streaky and he didn’t feel comfortable doing it. By this time Pastor Rainey showed up, he backed up the makeup artist, and at this point is 10: 15 a.m. and my husband and I are already late to his funeral. Backed against the wall, I finally accepted they were not going to make this right, and I would have to accept the bad work they did.The two guys who helped out with the funeral were phenomenal. I appreciate them though I do not appreciate the rest of the serenity staff. I complained to them several times to no avail. They didn’t even have the decency to call me back like they agreed to.Please whatever you do save your money and go somewhere else. This is the last time you get to say goodbye.
Renee Jackson: My father was there in 2011 when I say they did a great job.
Lisa Demsko: HORRIBLY RUDE AND COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL! THE COLD, INSENSITIVE GUY THAT WORKED ON THE EARLY MORNING OF 6/14/2022 ....THIS GUY PICKING UP THE BODY OF A LOVED INDIVIDUAL FROM OUR HOSPITAL COMMUNITY WAS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. WE WERE SHOCKED BY HIS NASTY ATTITUDE AND WOULD NEVER, I REPEAT NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. NO COMPASSION OR PROFESSIONALISM WHATSOEVER!!! IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE SERENITY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME WOULD ALLOW SUCH AN INDIVIDUAL TO BE EMPLOYED THERE.
Debra White: They are a bait & switch operation! They totally ruined the obituary. Chrystal lied & said she allowed me to read. She was rushing me so, there was no way I read it. She was trying to make me think there was not going to be enough room. These people are so unprofessional. They threatened to hold my son’s body until we gave them $700 more dollars. My son’s hands were hidden & his casket appeared to be used. For the money you pay them, they are beyond horrible. Would never refer them. I was the next of kin, yet my daughter and the girlfriend were able to get his body moved to Serenity. Sherry made it clear that next of kin means nothing to them, it’s about whose holding the money. I was also switch around to different people during the entire process. It creates confusion so that what one person tells you means nothing to the next & next and the next.
Brian Murphy: Cheap prices but not the best and most professional place to have your funeral! I went to my niece funeral last year in the winter and the parking lot had snow and ice on most of it so when everyone got out their cars they had to be extra careful the lot was barely shoveled. So when I got out the car I tried to be careful but still slipped on some ice/snow,thank God I caught myself and didn't hit the ground. So when I walked in the front door I told the people/staff that was near the front desk.It was 2 men and a women. The woman looked over to the man that had a shovel in his hand, I guess he was the janitor. But before she could get any words out the dark skin man in the suit cut her off and told me" ma'am, we're doing the best we can and when I got ready to say something else he said it again,it was as if he had an attitude. Why I don't know because I was very polite to them! I guess he didn't care if I had fell and filed a lawsuit.I hope he wasn't the owner because if so he needs to learn all type of customer service and compassion skills. The only reason I didn't get back ignorant with him is because I was at my in-laws funeral. There was no reason that he should have said anything else besides are you ok,we have someone doing the lot it's gonna take a few more minutes for it to be complete"etc! I'm gonna make sure I keep life insurance policies on me and my children so we won't have to go here! And some of the bodies look good and some don't,I've been to 3-4 funerals here.I just hate dealing with people with bad attitudes and it's usually a black owned establishment
Harvey D. Chamberlain: A special thank you to the staff in Belleville. They are professional, courteous, respectful, knowledgeable and caring. A special "thank you" to Etsy Mays and the gentleman that helped serve at our brothers funeral Mr Donald Chamberlain Jr.
Nancy Fredrich: Thank you to the owner for his expediant, empathetic, and compassionate ways with my sister dealing with the death of William Rutledge. I am thankful to God for your kindness.
Fly Sneaker: There makeup artist can make ur young love one look old
Maurice Robinsonfamily: They did a great job for us
Cherri Sparkle: My brother and I did hospice with our dad( passed 4/15/21), he was very specific about how he wanted his funeral to be... Nicce.. but cheap. They had the best package for the lowest price. The make up artist did a wonderful job and the weekend manager for the insurance aspect was very helpful but outside of that they are horrible. The lady at the front desk has the worse attitude ever seeing that she is the first person a grieving family will see. Our planner approached us multiple times about signing paperwork that I asked him about signing multiple times. We were pulled out of our dad funeral twice and the paperwork still wasn't complete, they allowed someone else to pick up the death certificates after being given specific instructions and they never even called to verify with either of us. I was harassed for days after the funeral was complete about the life insurance even though I was told by the company that they were supposed to reach out to them and I relayed it multiple times. It was the worse experience of my life, especially seeing that we'd lost the better half of us. The prices are cheap... But you get what you pay for

Hughes Funeral Alternatives, LLC: what do users think?
Ha Ha (HA): A few years ago I stumbled across the realization that I could be naturally buried or something I've never heard of before, aqua cremation. As someone who was never interested in the fanfare of caskets, embalming and eternal internment, this was a welcome alternative to what I was told "had" to be done at death. Fast forward a couple years and it is now time to have this discussion with my grandparents. My mother was very open to natural burials or aqua cremation so she researched and found Jon Hughes, who was so helpful and knowledgeable. It is refreshing to know that in death those who want to just go back to the Earth as naturally and non-invasive as possible, can do so! For my grandmother we went with aqua cremation. It takes much less energy and resources than cremation by fire. Thank you Jon for adding these alternatives to what you offer. Much respect and God bless!
Lori Gardner: This was a very difficult and trying situation and John made this such an easy process for me. I'm in another state and he went above and beyond to help me with this. John and his team were all very professional and courteous. I highly recommend John to anyone requiring funeral/cremation arrangements.
Jessica Bishop: I can't say enough good things about this company, Jonathan was so caring and went above and beyond for us and our family. Obviously you never want to have a loss, but when you do it's so comforting to know that your loved one is being taken care of. We went with the flameless cremation and I think it was the right choice.
Jillian Froebe: I want to extend my gratitude to Jon and Hughes Funeral Alternatives for offering compassionate and skilled support and service during one of the most challenging times in life, the loss of a loved one. Given the need for alternatives to traditional burial and cremation at this time on the planet when climate crisis is clearly on the rise, our family was so relieved to discover flameless cremation. My son and I visited the facility and were present during the initiation of the process. Jon was respectful and allowed us the privacy we needed while also being very present to explain the process and answer all the questions we posed. Our family's hope is that more people will consider this way of honoring the passing of a loved one while also caring for the planet.
J: Jon at Hughes Funeral Alternative has been Very helpful, compassionate and patient. He listened to me at a very emotional time and just seemed like a caring, concerned, knowledgeable person - The kind you need at a time like this. It was just a little more money but well worth it. My highest recommendation. After the untimely and unexpected death of my mom at the hands of, I mean while at... Mercy Jefferson Hospital, he even got her out late that night. He knew it was distressing to me to leave her there too long.I was glad to see this Google ad after finding out the planned place had deceptive price advertising practices and I was supposed to go to a questionable downtown neighborhood to pick up the cremains. Being far away did not help either. The cremation process just seems better. Something about fire...no thanks. Cremation was her request and I am more comfortable this way.He gave me a reference for a pro I needed to talk to who was great too, cleaned up my obituary that I typed on my phone while out of town and it went to another website too, a memory wall.
Diana Wideman: Thank you Jon for your compassion and understanding in this most difficult of times.Saying good bye to a brother is heartbreaking.
Christie Porschen: Hughes Funeral Alternatives managed a green burial funeral for my mother and exceeded my expectations and overdelivered on several options. The communication was prompt and thorough and they did everything possible to keep costs reasonable but still give her a beautiful ceremony that my mother deserved. I couldn't have chosen a better provider for our vision.
Eryn Hommel: John and his wife were absolutely wonderful to work with throughout our families Service. We were out of state and John was above & beyond throughout the entire process. There was not one time they did exceed out expectations. I'd highly recommend to anyone the Level of compassion & care can't be beat.
Lisa P: Jon was so comforting and respectful during our time of sorrow, that we could not have been more appreciative. He was there with us each step of the way, as we dealt with the sudden loss of my father-in-law.We were so pleased to find a natural, gentle and eco-friendly cremation service, that was also very affordable.Having spent thousands more for our mother's cremation a few years ago at a different funeral home (for far less personal service), which we thought was "family owned", but later found out was a large chain company - we will definitely recommend "Hughes Funeral Alternative, LLC" to all of our friends and family in the future!!
Sarah Foege: I am very pleased to have chosen John and Erin to the finalities of losing my Mother, Cindy, just weeks ago. I am very grateful for thier care and professionalism in dealing with the matters of my Mothers cremation. I also am pleased with the flameless process they use. ThankYou So Much To The Hughes...I am so glad to have had the recommendation of your services.
The Modern Mortician: I own a funeral home in Austin, Texas. When our clients want eco friendly Water Cremation, we partner with Hughes Funeral Alternarices to provide Texans with this progressive form of disposition. Jon is an asset to the funeral industry and his community. Thank you for being a leader in change and providing this service to your community, and to Texans.
James Farley: Mr. Hughes and his staff are second to none in the field of flameless cremation and funeral service. They are very helpfull , kind and compassionate.
Meredith Luedecke: It is nice to know that there is a third option, bio cremation. It is a great idea and eases my mind as it is more gentle than flame cremations. The methods are efficient and cost effective.

Henry Funeral and Cremation Services: what do users think?
Liz Stewart: Henry's was recommended to us by a family member and we could not have been served better in our time of sorrow and loss. Brandon and Kimberly were responsive, professional, knowledgeable and compassionate. They had to coordinate three households in three states to see to the needs of our loved one. Thank you so much for everything you did.
Brenda Hinson: I attended a visitation on November 18, 2022. Upon my entry into the church I was winded as I use oxygen. The Staff Of Henry's Funeral Home was very caring in asking could they assist me! I found this to be very impressive! I would recommend their services just based on their hospitality! This wasn't even at their funeral home!!
Lori Gillespie: My uncle's service was beautifully put together ❤️
Eric Dillon II: By far one of the classiest funeral homes in St. Louis. Nobody puts more thought and care into a lost love ones home going. This Staff led by Mr. Brandon Henry displays empathy, compassion and dignity that will help the family in their darkest hour.
Yolunda Lester: I love mr. Brandon Henry and staff...so sweet very personal. Took Great care of our family wants and needsThanks Yolunda😍
KL Jackson: Excellent services, professional staff, very maintained facility and a well-respected business in the community! Mr. Brandon Henry [and staff] does great work and I highly recommend.
deependablereviews: Beautiful building with original stained glass windows and woodwork. The staff is incredibly professional and kind. Highly recommend for all your funeral needs.
Ms. Kellye: Great service very comforting
Tonya Williams: Thank you for handling the shipping of my son's body from North Carolina to St. Louis and all of the other funeral related details professionally and flawlessly. I appreciate your team's responsiveness to my family's needs during the most difficult time of our lives.
Dorneshea Bailey: On behalf of the Bailey family we would like to say Thank you to Mr. Brandon and staff!!!!! You made us feel like we were your family. Every last one of your staff members made us feel welcomed. Also, our loved one look so natural and peaceful. Your work is truly a God’s gift. The florist you use was amazing. ***my dad also smelled like the gentleman he was**Professional, clean environment. You all are the best hands down. My family will continue to support and use your service in our time of need. Thanks for all you do.
Wanda Hammond: Excellent service, had no problem with staff or anything. Everything was done with care.
L. Renay Moore: The staff at this establishment was very professional and compassionate. Thank you ~ your service was greatly appreciated.
Lorraine Gustavis: Mr. Henry and staff at Henry Funeral and Cremation Services live up to their mission and pledge. Our family has used them twice within a two week period and each experience was consistent; professional, compassionate, and exhibited genuine care and dignity. Their quality of work and care of our deceased loved ones extended as well to our families.
Ella Berg: I went to them for direct cremation of my loved one. They were kind, prompt, and responsive, and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need.
Laura Pavone: We chose this place away from home because it was significantly cheaper than the places in our area to have our mom cremated. We went with the flameless option. We had to pay extra for memorial cards, but we also had to contact Brandon every step of the way. We asked if we could see her, just for a minute or two before they took her to be cremated and Brandon happily agreed. But when it came time, we were told the place willing to let us see her would charge $300. Very upset, we called the place and was told Brandon told them we needed a small service, hence the fee. We had to constantly call and text and initiate conversation with Brandon. On the form, we selected to reserve a locket of our mothers hair which was never done and it's now been since 11/4/2019 when I last heard from Brandon stating there would be a resolution to make up for the mishap and I've been ghosted. The rating would have been higher had it not been for the mishap (very unprofessional and you don't get a re-do) and had he not ghosted once payment was rendered.Edit: to say that also they do not keep up with the online obituary and tribute wall.
Jonica Williams: The whole process ran very smoothly from beginning to end. Mr. Henry and his staff showed nothing but professionalism throughout our entire process. I was very pleased with the service they gave us which was above and beyond also my mother looked amazing 😉 Thanks again!
Tina Dempsey: I couldn't have been happier with everything they did for me to help get my Uncle taken care of they went above an beyond not alot people would have known that especially with us having to drive 10 hour's ro get there thank you again guy's
Roxanne Cardoza: Super sweet family-owned made you feel like you're welcome and you're part of their family very reasonable very respectful people mr. Henri is a wonderful man and his sister Kim she's a sweetheart truly blessed to find them
charlesetta Davis: I couldn't thank Brandon enough. My mothers transitioning was so unexpected. She left 5 girls although we're older we've never planned a funeral and Brandon was there to answer every question we had help us with what we needed. He became our family we were at the funeral home or calling him to ask questions almost everyday. I really appreciate him and his kind friendly staff. And to top it all off my mother looked absolutely stunning due to her having to have brain surgery and some of her hair had to be cut we couldn't have asked for a better stylist. 💔
Tracy Jones: We got 5 star service and my Mom looked beautiful. With her looking so much like herself made it a little easier.
Ready Realty: This was the worst service I have ever received. The body did not look natural, the prices were inflated, it cost 8200 for a small service graveside with no frills, cars are anything. They didn't provide the obits at all. When I asked the owner about the price Brandon said that they charge more for people with insurance. WTF.

Baucom's Life Celebration Center: what do users think?
glenn walker: Baucom's Life Celebration Center has provided first class service for our family during a difficult time at least three times. Twice in the past for my cousin and my aunt and now most recently for my mom. They were very Timely, considerate and organized setting up our initial meeting. After our first sit-down with Kelvin there was no need to look any further. Kelvin, Cynthia, Eric, and Phyllis we're all very helpful, compassionate and knowledgeable. The trifold programs were stunning and beautiful. Kelvin was instrumental in walking my sister and I through each detail and even allowed us to contact him after hours if we had questions.Their makeup team did such an amazing job on my mom. I have been to other funerals where sometimes the people did not even look like themselves but my mom looked so natural that it almost looked like she was just sleeping. I don't think we could have entrusted our loved ones to anyone better. They definitely deserve an A+ rating. If you ever are in need of these types of services you should definitely consider them first.
All Things Mstonita: Mr. Baucom and his entire staff is the epitome of excellence. Every step of the way they were compassionate and professional. We’ve entrusted them to handle services for 3 loved ones (my son, my granddaughter, and most recently my mother-n-love). We can’t express our gratitude and appreciation for their assistance during this difficult time for our family. They went over and above with great attention to detail to provide great dignity and respect for our loved ones. I highly recommend their services and they will forever be part of our extended family to handle any future homegoing services. Thanks again for everything.
Candace Jordan: Baucom’s Life Celebration Center provided First Class Service, compassionate support, and exceptional professionalism in the planning of my Father’s Celebration of Life ceremony! They were timely and accommodating in scheduling our initial meeting. They were attentive and patient in helping our family make our selections for the services. Their graphic design team did an amazing job on the funeral obituary, from the font selection to the layout. As for my Dad, our family was speechless upon viewing my Father prior to the service. They did an AMAZING job with Dad’s hair, outfit, and makeup. He looked exactly how he looked in life with the exception of looking YEARS younger! Their makeup team is truly gifted!!The MercedesvSprinter limo was a smooth and very comfortable ride for our 12 family members. The hearse carrying my Dad was adorned with the funeral flowers on its rooftop and was a really beautiful and nice touch for the cemetery procession! The attention to detail and surprise gifts from the entire Baucom Staff exceeded all of our expectations and our family highly recommends that anyone in need of celebration of life services entrust their loved ones’ home going arrangements to their business! Cynthia and Eric were truly a pleasure to work with!!!
Pam Moses: From the time I met with the General Manager/Director Andre Monroe the experience is one I will never forget. Mr. Monroe and the staff at Baucom, including Mr. Baucom were very professional and caring when working with me and my family. The service was exquisite. I could not have entrusted my loved one in better hands. If you and your family are in need of this service, please do make this your first stop. There will be no need to look any further. Thank you Baucom family for your service to me and my family. Pam Moses 12/20/22
T D: STILL RED CARPET SERVICE. "BAUCOM" . THEY DID AN ISLAMIC SERVICE WITHIN 24HOUR TURNAROUND. SO PROFESSIONAL. THIS WAS OUR 3RD BUSINESS EXPERIENCE AND I WILL CHOOSE AND REFER OVER AND OVER AGAIN.❤️
Cherry Red: PLEASE DON'T BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE.
Rania Jamison: Baucom’s professionalism made bearable one of the hardest things I have ever had to do in my life. I was nervous and skeptical about having to coordinate things from 700+ miles away but they truly lifted a heavy burden and brought to life my vision of a spectacular homegoing celebration for my loved one. The staff provided exceptional customer service every step of the way! The facility was top notch and the attention to detail was impeccable. A huge shout out to Jeremiah for his amazing talent, Eric for his technology skills, Tamika for her ability to make me feel like nothing was too small to be addressed immediately and Shrylene for ensuring all of the T’s were crossed and all of the I’s dotted. And finally Kelvin, thank you for leading the charge to provide VIP treatment from our first conversation until our final goodbye today.Without a doubt I highly recommend Baucom’s.
Angela Peoples: Extremely professional and experienced. Shows great compassion and concern I highly recommend them for your time of bereavement.
Fred Green: Baucom excelled in serving the needs of my family recently. We appreciate the services made available to us, the facilities, and the many professional courtesies. Special mention to our primary point of contact Eric. My family wanted the best for our loved one, our distant family and friends who could not attend the celebration and those who were local but could not attend - we got it. Baucom is a well-run outfit. Thanks.
David l Terrell: They were kind and friendly, completely professional, Mr Baucom was a great advocate for my loved one. I would recommend them 10 out of 10x.
Deborah Edwards: Baucom's Life Celebration Center provided an amazingly exceptional, and compassionate service to my family and myself during the most difficult time in our lives with the passing of my husband. They treated my family as if we were their own. I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Eric Griffin, and he made himself available to us at all times. He provided a gentle guidance every step of the way until completion of the process. At no time, were we uninformed about anything that was taking place. The entire staff was kind, caring and gentle during this extremely difficult time. My husband looked wonderful. If it is possible that one could look younger, he absolutely did. Also, the building is beautiful, clean and holds a peaceful atmosphere. I would recommend Baucom's above any and all other funeral homes in the area.Deborah Edwards
Carl Garland: I decided to take my time and do a review on Baucom's Life Celebration Center because of the outstanding service I received while doing a preplanned funeral. Most people do survey's to complain but I wanted to share a few things about what good customer service can do.. I was looking to do a preplan funeral plan and to be honest I thoroughly searched for the funeral home I was most comfortable with. I went to 6 funeral homes, 3 black and 3 white. Baucom's was the best because not only did they treat me with respect, they were very attentive to all of my needs and fair with cost. There were cheaper funeral homes and some more expensive. Some acted like they never did a preneed, that really confused me. Phillis Randle who handled my preneed was very knowledgeable and patient with me and took the time to explain each and every aspect of the process. More importantly the funeral home represented to me, a place where I would want my funeral services to be held when I pass because they seem to care about how I would be represented when I'm gone. Like I said, if you do like me, visit several funeral homes. You will start observing how different funeral homes handle themselves, very unprofessional, rushing you through the process just to overcharge you for unnecessary cost and say whatever and then goodbye. I was very impressed with the professionalism and the environment at Baucom's. Trust me I was very particular about where I wanted to be and who was going to handle my remains once I'm gone. There are quite a few funeral homes. Trust me they aren't all the same. I just don't see how you can go wrong with Baucom's. This should be the last stop in my opinion. I know this was a lot but it's all true. If something is misspelled or the sentence is not sounding right. You get the picture! Good luck in your search.
Mia Davidson: The Baucom Staff is amazing !!! Our funeral director Eric was so awesome and everyone was so polite !!Baucom You all did amazing job from beginning to end Thank You for your patience and supportRhonda Davidson
Starla Rhodes: The Baucom's Life Celebration Center (Baucom's Family) was such an inspiration to my family! From the moment of our loved ones passing they have been so supportive and very compassionate. The professionalism of the entire staff was like none other. We were not treated as a transaction, but family taking care of family! While caring for our needs my father was presented as peaceful rest!We are grateful for their sincere services. Should you be faced with losing a loved one and need great service as this, you should definitely contact Baucom's Life Celebration CenterRespectfully,Alice Davis and Family
Monet Cooper: Thank you guys and dolls for making this a real celebration of my daughter's life... I'm so grateful to God for all your help.. 💜
Margie Moore: The Baucom Life Celebration Center was such a God send at a difficult time in my families life. Everyone showed so much compassion and eagerness to assist with my granddaughters homegoing. To Mr. Baucom and all his staff, Thank you. God bless you all.
Taja Thomas: Recently used this Celebration center for my Father’s Day. Really loved the Service! Nice setting, my father looked absolutely amazing!!! I enjoyed the service, the help, and overall the Center. I really appreciate what Mr. Baucom and his crew did for me and my father ❤️. My other favorite part were the beautiful gifts, thank you all I will cherish them forever! May God Bless You All !
MD Stldrummerboy: This was the worst funeral home I've ever been to. By far the most unwelcoming place I've ever seen. They wouldn't even let family stand and talk to each other during the visitation. We were told we had to sit down in the chairs in front of the body or go out side (in December!). They had the lobby completely closed off. They didn't even have rest rooms available. And instead of putting family pictures and memories on both projectors, they used one projector to display their covid policy, even during the service as the pasture spoke. The owner was also distasteful enough to give everyone a speech about covid before he would let the pasture speak. Then to top it off, the procession escorts left a bunch of people in the parking lot to get stuck by oncoming traffic and at several traffic lights while never allowing them catch up to the procession. I think 3 or 4 cars got lost and never made it. Pick a different place. Your loved ones deserve better than this!
Rosanda Mitchell: Baucom's funeral home is where you want to go if you want to lay your love one to rest with a team of pristine professionals. They serviced my mother funeral and took care of everything in such a trying time. I am forever grateful for their patience and love and kindness with attending to my large family. My family and I are truly thankful for them.
Kelli Rogers: Baucom treated my mother with the most dignity and respect. From day one, this business has been nothing but professional. They made the funeral arrangement process as smooth as possible, which is crucial when you are trying to get through one of the most difficult times in your life. Everything they said they would do, they did it to the highest standard. I will definitely be referring Baucom to others in need of a funeral home. Thank you for making the most difficult time in my life easier through your high level of professionalism and your care and compassion for grieving families.
RevIE Gales: May, 2021 - The family of Wendy Marie Dawson would like to express our sincerest gratitude for the professionalism, expertise, and respect for the final act of love we were able to provide our sister - because of Baucom‘s. With this sudden passing our family needed and was given the utmost service and superior individualized attention. Baucom’s has raised the standards for the area funeral industry and delivers one-stop inclusive service which is equivalent to Fortune/Forbes Top 5 rated service entities. Thank you Mr. K. Baucom, Mr. Eric Griffin, Buffy, Administrative staff, Funeral Directors, Security Team, and the phenomenal Transportation Leads- Mr. Ron Morgan.

Cypress Pointe Cremation: what do users think?
Kyree Kawasaki: Unfortunately We had the experience of dealing with the death of our 2 week old son (zion)...we called and spoke to jo . he picked our baby boy up from the children hospital In St. Louis. He called before doing the Procedure to let us know when it was actually taking place . Then he said he would call in 2 week with the ashes . 2 weeks later or sooner we got a call to come pick up our baby .. there was 2 locations he let me pick what ever one was More convenient for us. He gave us our boy back in a blue urn with a teddy bear engraved on the urn. when I asked him what I Owed him For the cremation he said No charge . He didn’t want any money he was glade there was something he could do to help us out and he was very sorry for our boys passing . I 100 percent recommend this place!!!!!!
Mark Nunya: Not knowing what to do in this cross road in life Nancy and Joe both set my mother and I at ease. Caring and compassionate.
Lisa Taras: Professional, reasonable and no sales pressure
Katharine Griffin: I can't thank Nancy enough for everything she has done for my family. She made this a very smooth process and answered all of my questions.
Ryan Elijah: We can't say enough about Cypress Pointe. Working with Joe was everything we wanted from the beginning to the end of the process. He thoroughly explained the process and cost and was compassionate in understanding the loss our family just suffered. The facility was first class and provides families a nice private viewing area. The service was very professional and the costs were very reasonable. We highly recommend Cyrpress Pointe. I called several facilities and this was an easy decision. Ryan E.
Lisa Schuler: I can't say enough kind words. I am so please with the kindness, attention to detail and character of Joe and Nancy. Circumstances were such that we had to choose the most economical / basic option but Joe and Nancy went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations, even obliging a special request. We were treated as if we were five star. I believe this is a testament to the values and ethics of the organization. Thank you for being people of principle and treating our loved one as if she was yours.Lisa S(Fenton, MO)
Tina Pinter: For being over 2,000 miles away and finding out my mother had pasted away, try to take care of things were very difficult. I searched many funeral homes and only got one call back, and it was from American Cremation. I'm very pleased with the service, everyone was very professional as well as polite, and made my first experience pleasant and as stress free as possible. So thank you!Tina from Oregon.
