When it came time for installation, Steve took the time that was necessary to trace all of the wires and re-integrate the hardwired window sensors from our original security system (that another security company disconnected without our knowledge during a so-called previous upgrade) into a truly upgraded system that includes wireless glass-break and motion sensors in addition to a mix of hardwired and wireless door and window sensors. Then, we sat at my dining room table and he personalized a security plan specific to my home...meaning we discussed what was needed/what was not needed and then he put together the blue print that would be my home’s security platform. Not once was there that annoying “pushy salesman” feeling. I had a lot of questions which he took the time and answered them all. After signing the contract the install (on 2 buildings) went without any issues. They had to work in and around our employees which worked out great. We couldn't even tell they were there. No mess at all. They trained me on the operation of the system and confirmed i was good with the camera views. 3 days after the install we had some items stolen from our property. I was able to pull it right up and saw the intruders. We called and filled a police report. When the police arrived and viewed the footage he said "Wow those are some clear images" I am glad we didn't wait any longer for our install. I highly recommend Gateway Alarm.

Lisa: I don't write bad reviews very often but I have not had many good interactions with this company. I have been frustrated many times about the equipment and the customer service. I finally cancelled my services and was told that they just have to stop the alarm service and I was done. It has been 3 months and my alarm started going off yesterday. I called the company to report the issue and was treated horribly by the staff. The first person told me that she did not know anything because she just answered the phones and then the technician told me that I owned the equipment and that he could not do anything, but then said that I needed to make an appointment to have the equipment un-installed. I said that noone had told me that when I cancelled. He replied."Well, I am telling you now, so what do you want me to do?" I told him that I did not feel like I should have to pay and he told me, "Oh, you'll pay or we won't come." The technician was rude and condescending and no help at all. I left this company because of this type of behavior and see that it is still the same. When I had the equipment, alarms would activate when it was too cold or too hot, and noone could ever fix the problem. I was told that "it just does this." Still frustrated and I don't even have their services. They lack kindness, patience, and good customer service.

Justin Compton: I have been a customer for sometime now and just recently had some hardware issues with my system (low voltage & window sensor issues). I called a technician to come out after describing the symptoms and the indications I was receiving from my alarm. Needless to say I believe the technician was more interested in starting his weekend over spending 30 to 40 minutes of his time to actually doing his job. He changed out a window sensor battery after I asked him to change it out and he wasn't prepared for the low voltage issue which required another battery that he didn't have on him. Not a big deal, but when you pay $85 for someone to troubleshoot a system you rely on you expect some due diligence while they are at the house. Instead I got maybe 15 minutes of an unsure and unprepared technician. Not impressed, but I will say the monitoring system does carry the weight with this company. I hope I caught the technician on a bad day.

Mike Billmeyer: I contracted with Gateway Alarm to have a security system installed in my new home. The initial consultation was thorough and pointed out several security issues I was not aware of. The installation was done in a professional way and it was done neatly. When I put in a service call, a rep was at my home within 24 hours and the problem turned out to be operator error on my part. The rep took the time to reeducate me and I haven't had an issue since. I thought so much of their service I recommended them to my daughter who now has a Gateway System installed in her home. I'm very happy with my experience with Gateway and will continue to recommend their services in the future.

Steve: When it comes time to cancel your services, the company will try to charge you more than four times what the the equipment is worth. It will takes threats of legal action to come to any resolution with this company. Stay away. Better service and ethics are easily found elsewhere.

Bad neighbors!Ha, remember when they built an expensive building (that doesn't fit Dogtown) then secured their parking lot with cheap chains and a gate made out of a 2x4 and a bucket? Classy.

David Ruggeri: Do some research and you can find numerous better companies. I am a current customer and am canceling my service and switching to a different company. I have had several small issues over the past few years, but nothing that would warrant leaving until now. Our alarm was beeping and I called and asked what the issue might be. They told me they would send someone out. I stated that if we can trouble shoot this over the phone I am happy to do so, but they said it was no problem and they would send someone out to make sure everything was working properly. The service tech came out and said it was a bad battery and replaced it. Well a few weeks later I get a $103 bill for changing a $8 battery. I called billing and was told by the women in the billing department that she will look into this and call me back soon. Well she never called so I called back the next day. She explained that the charge for a service call was $95. I stated that the service call was their idea and that I could have changed the battery myself as $103 to change a battery seems excessive to me. She told me that there is nothing she can do and I have to pay that bill. I told her that I will pay but will be canceling my service, to which she replied "Ok, I need that in writing. I will be looking for your letter." She literally could not have cared less. After I hung up I decided to call back and speak to a supervisor. I was told that Bridget would call me back "very soon." Bridget called me back and seemed to not care anymore than the first employee.I did some looking around and found many great alarm companies with better technology and options.

They will not always call when your alarm is triggered and they give you a card with a ridiculously long password and will not let you personalize it. The guy went on a rant about he looks closed because he don't wanna get shot and the neighborhood is bad. But he comes out , took a look at my equipment and says I cannot install. Didn't explain why and just walked off. I can tell between him being awkwardly rude and him being in the audio installation business but wouldn't do an install that this wasn't a legitimate business
