Storm Victor: Warning!!! Do not use this company. I will post an updated review with dates and receipts once I finish compiling everything for a claim with the Better Business Bureau’s. But this has been the worst nightmare of a repair process, they came out multiple times and after each time shortly there after a refrigerator failed then they would come out and say oh we forgot to put this part in etc. After over $1000 (we felt like we had to keep using them because some parts will be under warranty and some wouldn’t by the time it broke again) It broke again, right after the three month mark. So obviously they refused to cover any further repairs under any warranty. Trying to call is an absolute joke. Crystal literally screamed at me when I was calling to get itemized receipts, so that I can file a claim under a home warranty to have a different company come out and repair it. I have sent 4 written requests in on top of my phone calls to get these itemized invoices and I’ve gotten no response.Service:Refrigerator/freezer repair

They came out same day, evaluated potential causes and kept me fully abreast of what the options & related cost would be. Terra Jo Tolliver: When the technician came out to diagnose the problems he missed the fact that the dryer door does not stay closed. He realized this when he came to repair what he did find and told us it was his fault he missed that and that we would not have to pay for him to come out again and fix the door. Trying to schedule the second repair was a nightmare. They kept telling me they would be there between 12-5. I explained every time I spoke to them that we are not home until 4:00 and could not take off work again to wait for the repair man. At least twice they called to say they were on their way prior to 4:00. I explained again that I would not be home until 4:00 and that if the window is open until 5:00 they should be able to come and fix it then. The woman who answers the phone was extremely rude every time I talked to her and each time this happened insisted that I would have to keep rescheduling. The last time this happened I insisted on speaking to the manager who not only told me he would not keep his employee on the clock to come do the repair when I am home but that I was wrong for expecting that as the customer. He told me the repair man should not have said it would be a free repair as well as other things we were told by the repair man that the manager was now denying. They may be dirt cheap but you get what you pay forI guess. Their customer service is horrible. They only care about getting paid. They do not care about their customer service reputation or the quality of their repairs. Spend a little more and go with a company who cares and doesn’t treat their customers like dirt.Service:Washer/dryer repair

Mallory Hindman: There is a reason this store is closing. Ill never 1 star a location, but this one was running close. Their prices are so jacked up, and they claim everything is "50 - 75%" off. No. Nu uh. This shirt shouldnt be 80 dollars originally. They are trying to make a profit off of terrible clothing. Thats just the womens section. In the appliances and mattress section, everyone was on their phones and a little old lady was running around doing a 4 person job by herself. She had a line of 6 people and some heyjoes are facebooking or candy crushing while she was busting her butt. Im not sad to see this sears location shut down.

Katherine Peterson: I appreciate Randy coming out to fix our dryer. It had a burning smell and we could not find the problem. The appointment scheduling was easy and they give the date and approximate time period to arrive, calling the day of to confirm. Randy was friendly, easy going and explained everything in a conversational manner I could understand. It ended up being a ball of lint got stuck way down in the back of the dryer. I do think $98 was pretty expensive but thats the rate so it is what it is. $60 for service call to show up and $38 for half an hour of labor.
Alex Vournas: This is when you know they are a good company. I called with an issue on my GE fridge. I tried a few basic tricks via google and they didn't work.It's a known issue and I explained it to justin(?) and he offered a solution over the phone rather than coming out. He was happy to come out but said I could try his suggestion vs paying for them. It worked! That simple gesture has earned my trust the next time I have an issue that requires the professionals. I will call American Appliance Service.

Alex Gorodinsky: My fridge needed very minor maintenance and a light switch replaced. A few places that I called were inaccessible, others offered ridiculous quotes and there was a long wait to schedule. American Appliance scheduled it for the same day, the technician was friendly and knowledgeable and I was charged $90 for the service call, labor and parts. Highly recommended.

He not only followed up, but when I called him back he was able to schedule me for the next morning with a 1 hour window for his arrival. Kept me updated prior to his arrival and had my fridge fixed in about 30 minutes. Gene Manning: Compressor failed on refrigerator, called Mid America and they installed a new compressor 24 days later. Installer was great and it does work. However, if you buy the compressor from Sears it is $357 and has a 10-year warranty. From Mid America it is $458 and has a 90-day warranty. Andy Ganey: I woke up recently to find my refrigerator went out overnight. I instantly called my nearest appliance repair business, which was St. Louis Appliance Repair Group. This was at about 8:30am. I was told someone would be here between 9:30 and 12:30, and they’d call me 30 minutes before arrival. Well, it gets to be 1pm with no call, so I call them. The lady tells me that apparently I called them and they were just waiting on me to call and schedule an appointment. This does not align at all with my conversation that morning. I explained that and she put me on hold. Then she came back saying they weren’t going to be able to make it by 12:30 (obviously since it was already 1pm) but they would send someone out that afternoon. I asked the time because I had an appointment that I simply couldn’t miss that I had to leave my house by 5pm. She said she couldn’t give me any time at all, but I’d get a call 30 mins before. I finally get a call at 4:10 telling me they’d arrive in about 40 minutes, which assuming they were telling the truth about the time (and I had little faith in that given the past experience) that would give them exactly 10 minutes to fix my fridge. I know the result would just be me having to pay the $157.50 service fee that they are obsessed with, but not being able to fix anything. So, I cancelled. I managed to get my most valuable frozen food into my parents’ deep freeze, but I did suffer a significant loss of food as a result of the bad service of this company. Not only did they not come out, but they lied about the timing causing me to not call a more reputable company. I like to support local business but I will never consider them again. To anyone reading this, please look for a more reliable company if you are dealing with a time-reliant issue like a fridge failure. This company’s lies and incompetence cost me a lot of money.

Both technicians who attempted to correct the problem did not have the skills to complete the repair. In less than five minutes, my contractor (not an employee of the repair company) came up with a simple solution. The price structure for this company seems arbitrary and considerably higher than any other in the area. Kyle Gibson: I would not recommend this company. Very disappointed in the service or lack of service provided by St Louis Appliance Repair Group. I had a dishwasher that was not pumping water out completely at the end of the wash cycle. Called and scheduled to have them come out to determine the issue. The repair person Zack indicated the drain pump was the issue. I questioned the service rep while he was here as the motor was running but not discharging all the water. He stated the pump was just spinning too slow to get all the water out. I ordered the pump and installed the new pump and was still having the same problem. I did additional research on my own and replaced the check valve in the dishwasher discharge hose. Problem solved! Put the old pump back on and its been working perfectly ever since. I called Susan at St louis Appliance repair group to let her know what had taken place and I felt like I should have been provided a partial refund for the service fee. Susan declined to provide any refund. I was not even asking or expecting a full refund but they completely denied any refund.
