African Palace: what do users think?
Kashawn Baldwin: Recommended dishes Egusi and Fufu w Stewed Chicken Stew, Whole Fish with Jolof Rice, Curry Chicken, Pounded Yam Amala or EBA, Mixed Beef Stew with Agusi, Jerk ChickenMore
Herta Martha Shikapwashya: Customer service was truly personably immaculate. The food was exquisite. I need a nap now. The only thing is that the restaurant needs is an update otherwise, I can’t complain about the food, portions, or service. Drastic improvement since I last vowed not to go back but my friend convinced me to give it another try and I am glad I did. I enjoyed my lunch unfortunately I don’t have energy for the nightlife anymore (old age).
Okike Ure: I really like it. It's like being transported back home to Nigeria. The atmosphere and vibe is really on par with the real thing. The food is great tooFood: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Whole Fish with Jolof Rice, Pounded Yam Amala or EBA …More
Olukayode Awosika: The ambiance was not appealing- drab sitting area, loud music, and long wait times for food, but the server was pleasant/apologetic. We were pleasantly surprised when the food came, as it was delicious!Recommended dishes Whole Fish with Jolof Rice, Spicy Chicken Suya, Spicy Goat Soup …More
Derrick Okyere: Am disappointed how they charger me extra 2$ for Asun that I have been ordering ,I am to believe Asun is spicy already so why charge me extra 2$ for hot spicy ?? Your foods are really expensive tho
L DeeNee Realty Solution Llc: I had the delicious fried talapia , spinach, rice and plantains !! Hospital was awesome. Will be returning 😋
Pamela Cole: It was a new experience but still good!!!Recommended dishes Stock Fish Red Sauce and Fufu …More
Vic2Tee O: I have eaten here a couple times. I really didn't like the idea that dining in food was served in a Styrofoam plate. Otherwise, food tasted good. I ate jollof rice
Suresh Ramsaroop: I have been to the African Palace several times with my family and friends. The food is always amazing. The fish, jollof rice, egusi, the chicken curry and asun (very spicy goat pepper soup) are all DELICIOUS and SO TASTY!!! The flavors on each dish are FANTASTIC!!! The asun is a WONDERFUL SPICY dish!!! The curry is a PERFECTblend of spices. My only complaint is that there is not a location in the St. Charles County region. If you are wanting something unique and ABSOLUTELY OUT OF THIS WORLD DELICIOUS food then go to Africa Palace. Your taste buds will not be disappointed.
Alan White: So I'm big on African food coming from the twins city. So I was very disappointed at the food I received. I don't even know what type of rice this is, maybe jasmine. It's not balsamic. I wanted goat and rice and not the goat I got . This goat came in stew form in a red sauce I have never seen. Normally my goat comes with green sauce to the side. They had red sauce and not green sauce. I ain't get a banana with my meal , miss that. I guess this goat gose with Foo Foo and not the rice I got. They didn't have cassava leaves a rice or none of the other food that I love. At best this is a nice American take on African cuisine. Also the portion size is very small for the amount that you pay and the food isn't close to the original. 😤🤔
Dymond Girl: The food is decent but the portion sizes are ridiculous for the price. I know we're facing inflation but this last time I visited, I left feeling like I got bamboozled. It was mostly because of a miscommunication/misunderstanding of what I wanted vs what I got..... The wait time was also a bummer. African Palace has been a favorite spot of mine for years but I just don't have consistently good experiences with the food or service like I used to.
Tracy Ray: So, I just found out that I'm from NigeriaWanted to try the whole experienceOh My Goodness was sooooo good I think I found my new home. Great job guys. My first visit won't be my last.Parking: Plenty of space

Everything was on point, the service was great! The staff kept checking up on us and topping up the food without us asking. We had brought our own decorations as well and they were okay with us setting them up as well.

Liam Briick: I discovered this place at the “Festival of Nations” last year and was immediately blown away. Discovered when searching for them, that they were close to me!Finally got the chance to try it, for takeout a few months ago. I ate it so quickly I didn’t get a chance to take a photo! Went there again recently and remembered to snap a photo.Their sambusa is really good. The dried spices that come with it are just as good, and have a little kick to them. Get them!Got the chicken tibbs and lamb (kelwa begged). It’s authentic, delicious, and LARGE portions!Merhaba will now forever be on my list of go to places in U-City. If you haven’t been here, take the risk and go; you won’t be disappointed!
yusuf abdi: Got food poisoning there and had to share a table with random old men
Dave Seehra: I have truly enjoyed the lamb curry at this place. It reminds of the food in India and authentic spices. I have enjoyed their curries and Samosa's. Their Nigerian Bread is awsome. I have been going there for many years and finally got around to write this review and they deserve it. It is worth a try food cooked fresh and served hot. Mouth watering aroma!
John Morgan: Yummy beyond belief
Sándor Bokor: Food is very good. Friendly service. If you want to try something different highly recommend this place.
Aren Ginsberg: Delicious Ethiopian food! The injera was fresh and all the vegetable selections were very tasty.

M: Some of the best food I've eaten in STL, and I have had a lot over the years from many very fine dining establishments. Everything I had was excellent - jerk chicken, beans and brown rice, and steamed cabbage. I am quite full from the generous portions, but I nevertheless want more. I know I will be back soon. This place is LEGIT. Perhaps the best chicken I've ever eaten.
Ramone Hamilton: Jerk chicken was to die for
emmaster: The food is really delicious, but the portions have gone down. For two people, we paid a little over $31 for 2 plates of what is pictured. The first time we came here, there was a much bigger amount of chicken. Also, watch out for the chicken bones—each piece is filled with them and they are easy to choke on!
Kyle Johnson: Chez Ali is one of the underrated options within the City Foundry food hall. It is located on the far western end of the food hall, and I think the food items are among the more adventurous so they may not get as much traffic.I am far from an expert on Jamaican food, but my $14 plate of Jamaican jerk chicken, red beans and rice, and cabbage was outstanding!!! The chicken is flavored so, so well, and while you do have to be careful about the bones (as some people have lamely complained about on here), it's doable with a little bit of work. I am not a huge cabbage person, but mixing in the cabbage with the red beans and rice was delightful. I ate my whole plate over the course of 25 minutes and felt full and great the rest of the day! Chez Ali may not be at the top of people's list at the Foundry, but I would definitely work it into the rotation.
Marissa Brown: Good food. Only complaint is you don’t know if they will have oxtails until you are there. There’s no schedule they have for them. There’s no way to call and check. There’s no update on a website. You just have to make the drive and hope for the best. If they could be more consistent with their menu, that would be great!
Jerry Stamson: Jerk Chicken was amazing. Wonderful food.
Misa Mirzaee: I know them from the beginning! Every time I went there, they have something to surprise me! Love their chikens, they know what they are doing! So delicious. They use high quality spices you can feel in your bite 😋Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Yassa Chicken, Curry Chicken with Rice and Cabbage, Jerk Chicken with Rice and Cabbage …More

American Lover: Brilliant with tasty delicious dishes. Must try, they do magic with flavors.
Tanner Ridings: The jerk chicken with red bean rice was life changing. I may be dramatic but it was incredible. Excellent food, good amount of food for the price, and the staff is very friendly. I’ll be back!
James Morris: My wife had the oxtails and I had the curry chicken. We will DEFINITELY be back. I'm bad about remembering to bring leftovers to work... you bet I remembered to grab this out of the fridge in the morning!
Josephine Tsang: the yassa chicken tho
KLL: On Monday Nov 21, 2022 around 2:15, 2:30 I arrived at this place. I was so excited to find some jerk chicken and cabbage. Unfortunately I didnt get to try the food. The girl there was sooooo mean, rude, and very unprofessional. I must say that had to be tge worst customer service I ever experienced. No hello, nothing, no one was in line. She looked at me and said wait and never took my order. SHE SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO HAVE SUCH A BAD DISPOSITION. ITS ACTUALLY PRETTY PATHETIC. I WONT RETURN.
W. Robert: Flavors were excellent, no denying that, BUT, there were dozens of chicken bone shards throughout our dishes and multiple pieces of chicken still had feathers on them, so we were unable to actually eat our meals. I'm sure some folks enjoy the extra challenge, but that was the most painful and nearly tooth-cracking meal we have ever had. I talked with the young woman at the counter and she was "politely" dismissive about my concerns without resolving the issue. See photos of bones meticulously picked out of rice and sauce and some of the chicken feathers. We spent more time avoiding bones than eating, and threw away most of our meals. A refund or offer to remake on a future date after making a new batch with better quality control was all I was asking for, but that didn't happen. Also, there were no dividers in the styrofoam container, so all the cabbage, chicken, sauce, and beans & rice blended together into one mess. While still good flavors mixed up, it would have been nice to actually try the individual components separately.0 stars for quality/safety/enjoyability of food, slopping food together, and refusal to resolve the problem.
Lauren Bowers: Lots of food & decently priced! Is has the chicken sampler which was $17. It came with Yassa chicken (lemon pepper & Dijon flavors), curry chicken, jerk chicken, cabbage, and rice. It was good & I’ll definitely be back.Vegetarian options: They had vegetarian samosas

The freezer section looked disgusting, there was blood on vegetable packs, and was mixing with raw meat which was a tell sign I should’ve listened to. I decided I was going to try the jallof rice since I didn’t enjoy the peanut soup, and it was the worst Jallof rice I have ever eaten. It tasted like just plain tomato paste, and chicken was dry. The only thing I enjoyed was the fried plantains. I wasted my $37.
