The Bright Spots Blog: We stumbled upon The Benevolent King the day they opened the doors, years ago, and have found ourselves coming back over and over. For many restaurants, especially since covid, the quality tends to go down, over time. At The Benevolent King, it has only gotten better every time we’ve been. While we tend to prefer variety and interest over routine, I will admit, we’re finding ourselves to be semi-regulars here. It’s become a favorite for date nights and special occasions. And the menu always has new, interesting and creative additions — it’s never boring! The last time we went, we were celebrating with friends and the staff went out of their way to make the evening memorable. The entire staff is friendly, personable and welcoming. We look forward to seeing them, each time we go.The lamb meatballs are a must. The last time we had hamachi collar there, it was the best any of us had ever had. The hamachi crudo was also extraordinarily on point. We absolutely love the escargot and the fresh bread they serve with it (which is worth breaking my no-gluten rule for!). The oysters here, are the best we’ve had in town — immaculately cleaned, beautiful, briny, plump and fresh. It’s obvious that Chef Elliot enjoys his craft and is very good at it! The bar tender, Zachary, deserves an award for his artfully crafted cocktails — always different, interesting, balanced, and delicious. We have plans to visit the rest of the Ben Poremba group restaurants soon, but often find ourselves returning to this one. Overall, it’s an experience to satisfy the senses and every time we leave here, we are already planning our next visit.
john jonson: Great food and the best Old Fashioned I’ve ever had.
Dick Slackman: Mediterranean cuisine with a twist. Very enjoyable.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Gennie Avellino: Was lucky enough to experience “The King Visits Japan” over Valentine’s Day week. The food was some of the best I’ve ever had in Saint Louis and the interior of the restaurant is beautiful. I have to dock a star because we felt extremely rushed throughout the meal. To ask $14 for a cocktail and then whisk it off my table while it’s still half full… we got the hint they wanted us to move on with our night. Sushi is meant to be enjoyed slowly, or so I thought.
Robert Rudock: Truly delicious food when you are brought what you order. However, we were brought a different main dish than requested and nobody ever came back to our our table to make sure everything was correct. When there is a discrepancy between expectations and what is served, the end result is disappointment. There was then no attempt to rectify the situation. :/
Claire Huang: Came during the sushi popup - really wanted to love it but the food was just ok and the prices were highway robbery-esque. The best thing on the menu is their zero proof jasmine spritz (which they charge $12 for) and a warm mushroom salad (which consists of 4 thin slices of mushroom and costs $18). The rolls themselves were 90% rice - the total amount of hamachi I got in my roll ($25) could constitute 1 thin slice of sashimi. Kumamoto oysters were dressed nicely but clearly not fresh (idk why I expected fresh in st louis). In total, I spent nearly $90 on a completely underwhelming meal - look elsewhere.

Robert Barnacle: Great dining experience. Reservations are needed I think but definitely worth it. Can seem pricey but it really isn't that expensive for the quality of the food. It is a small space though. I had the scallops and they were amazing.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Liz Deken: Tiny little spot in Maplewood that was perfect for a date night. We sat at the bar and had perfectly executed cocktails, a caprihina and a house old fashioned. We ordered two snacks, both were superb, one pictured here. The flavor and textures were so good, and the atmosphere is modern and spare, but cosy. Shane: Cinder was a nice experience because of the location on the rooftop of the Four Seasons. It has a great vibe but doesn't quite deliver on the service and food end because your expectations are quite high going in. If you go in with that in mind, you won't be too disappointed because sometimes we just overpay for an experience and/or it's convenient. Service was slow. We had steak and scallops and they were cooked well etc but I was done eating my 4 scallops (entire meal) in 2 minutes on a stretch. No sides, nothing. When you pay these prices, you shouldn't leave hungry.
Faith Davis: Amazing place and food. Our server, Glenn, was outstanding the entire time and made my husband and I feel so welcome. The food was beyond anything. The scallops and steak were to die for. The drinks and dessert were amazing as well with a spectacular view! Everything and everyone there was fantastic. The prices were well worth the quality we got.
Norma Arnold: If I could give this establishment 6 stars, I would! Everything we tried was amazing. From drinks, to appetizer, to entree, nothing disappointed! They’re located on the 8th floor of the Four Seasons hotel. Once you know that part, finding the restaurant is easy. The views of the Arch and city from the outdoor seating area are fantastic. I had the PIRI PIRI CHICKEN-Grilled Half Chicken, Manioc Polenta, Preserved Lemon, Sweet Pepper. It was an elevated buffalo chicken dish that left me wanting more even after I had stuffed myself. Absolutely delicious. My Partner had the BUTTERNUT SQUASH RISOTTO- Cashew Cheese, Ginger Mushroom Chimichurri, Toasted Cashews. All good feedback but the Piri Piri Chicken was truly hard to beat! We will definitely find our way back here!
Steve: Incredible! Everything was exquisite! Gotta get the lamb chops. OMGoodnessWheelchair accessibility: Free valet parking if going to the restaurant. Once in the building everything is wheelchair accessible. The bathrooms are accessible, surprisingly they just don't have an automatic door opener.
TR3NDY OFFICIAL: My partner and I celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant and it was truly a memorable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warm and welcoming staff who immediately made us feel at home. The positive energy of the people there really added to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. We were seated promptly and our server was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Not only did he make great recommendations from the menu, but he also went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was exceptional. The food itself was fantastic - every dish was beautifully presented and delicious, and it was clear that the chefs put a lot of care and attention into each plate.Overall, we had an amazing time at this restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special dining experience. The combination of good staff, warm welcoming, and positive people truly made our anniversary celebration even more special. We can't wait to come back again!

Erin Gohil: Vegetarian dishes and views are amazing! Our server was very busy but was such a nice gentleman and served us excellent cocktails! Michelle Bristow: Brinch menu leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered the wagu beef with eggs. There were 8 small pieces of wagu beef and 4 were solid fat, which I wouldn’t eat. There were 2 fingerling potatoes cut up and a lot of chilies. My two brunch mates were not impressed with their eggs Benedict either. The continental portion was very smalland lacked much choice. The waitstaff was spectacularFor $40 per person plus drinks, I expected better than this.
Tonya Boyd: I'm not going back.Food: 3/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
David McBee: Fantastic atmosphere, food and service. Everything was wonderful.
Benjamin Powell: I really wanted to love this place, and while the food was good, it just wasn’t quite what it promised to be. Our lead server tried to sell us a bottle of champagne or wine four times throughout the meal, even when we indicated we were only interested in one cocktail (on a Wednesday.)The Brazilian cheese balls were a delight - the best bite of the night. Everything else was well executed, it just felt like the entire staff was joyless in their roles, and phoning it in. I want to go back for brunch to take in the downtown views, but probably won’t come back for dinner.
Willie “WillIsrael” Adams: An amazing place to enjoy life. Food was above perfect. Everything about this place is perfectFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Hana M (Hana): Extremely over priced and meat portions are not even enough. I was still hungry after my meal. Place is beautiful. Service was over too much made me feel uncomfortable. Bartender was not very hygienic while making drinks and he was not dressed properly up to four seasons standard.
Jonathan Schleyer: Spectacular meal and service. The vegetarian and gluten-free options are fantastic. My meat lover friends love this spot too. The food was incredibly pleasurable not just from a taste perspective but also aesthetically. Sommelier Ayesha was top notch and delightfully attentive (she even remembered what we ate the night before!?!?!). The hen of the woods mushrooms are insane, the manioc goat cheese polenta may have stolen the show and the gem salad so fresh and crisp. The blue corn grits with veggies is pretty great too. Oh and the Brigadeiro for dessert felt authentic as I had been in Brazil the week before. The spirit menu is very robust which is not common especially if you like fancy scotches.

Aerial Green: I will never dine here again. Second time and I’ve still never received any food. My friend was 7 minutes late and we were threatened the whole time with canceling our reservation. In which she literally told her to stop seeing that to her. They wanted a 4% service , 20% gratuity and 10$/head for late fee. All while we’re crammed in this raggedy area that got us in. They are out their minds. We politely went to Mortons who was so nice and accomidating.
Isaiah Gray: This place is great for a date night! Food wise the what I have ordered from them has been phenomenal every time. If you like lobster or trying it out you have to get the Lobster fries! Also if you love salmon I suggest getting the chili glazed Salmon or the stuffed salmon. Both are really good but my favorite out of the two is the chili glazed salmon.
Lucretia Blair: Awesome team and experience. Great foods. 👍 😃 😊 😀

S. F.: We were there for 2 hours. Only able to get one watermelon margarita, water, and lobster fries… ended up getting up and leaving. Felt trapped it took forever to find our waitress so we could get the check and leave. Not a professional environment. They were not even that busy for a Friday night. They also don’t really honor reservations. We still had to wait to be seated.
Kara Theus: we got sat and got our order took but our food never came. i didnt even get my drink!!! the people around us said they were waiting for 2 hours. we waited as long as we could but got fed up and left. went to go get fast food instead. instead of prime 55 it should be lousy 55.
Alicia Wanta: The whole experience was terrible from the atmosphere service and food! The fact they add 20% gratuity for a table of 4 is crazy! No wonder we sat there for over 2 hours with not one refill the server never checked on us. Don't eat here you will be throwing away money

Daniel Wisniewski: Awesome food, all the sauces are amazing so far. The falafel is really awesome, fries, veggies super fresh. Lots of veggie options as well.
Daniel Martin: First time grabbing food at Orzo at the Creve Coeur location. I ordered the Beef and Lamb Gyro with a side of Falafel. When I opened the box that contained the gyro, I instantly noticed the lettuce was dirty and not washed at all. Needless to say, I had my doubts on the rest of the vegetables so I did not eat the gyro. Vegetables not being washed can be detrimental so I would probably not eat here again.

KK & Twion: I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Mediterranean restaurant and was blown away by their falafel bowl. The dish was presented beautifully with colorful layers of fresh vegetables, hearty grains and perfectly cooked falafel. The falafel itself was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a delicious blend of spices that gave it a rich flavor. The fresh vegetables, including cucumbers, tomatoes, and red onions, added crunch and brightness to the dish. The flavorful dressing tied all the elements together, making each bite a perfect harmony of taste and texture. One thing that stood out to me about this dish was the attention given to the ingredients. The vegetables tasted like they were just picked from the garden and the falafel was made in house, giving it a real sense of quality and care. Overall, I highly recommend the falafel bowl at this Mediterranean restaurant. It's a healthy and satisfying meal that is sure to please any vegetarian or Mediterranean cuisine enthusiast.
TBG ent: Orzo Mediterranean Grill is one of the best Mediterranean restaurants I've ever been to! The atmosphere is inviting, warm, and authentic. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly service and couldn't wait to try something from the menu. I ordered a chicken tahini wrap and it was absolutely amazing. The chicken was juicy, tender, and seasoned perfectly. The wrap was filled with fresh vegetables and topped off with an outstanding tzatziki sauce that perfectly complemented the flavors of the dish. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food that was served. Overall, Orzo Mediterranean Grill is a must-try restaurant for anyone looking for delicious Mediterranean cuisine. The combination of friendly service, cozy atmosphere, and mouth-watering dishes make for an exceptional dining experience. Highly recommend!Parking: Big parking lot.
makayla miller: If you're looking for a delicious and satisfying meal, you can't go wrong with the beef & lamb gyro and pita! This dish is a heavenly combination of tender, succulent beef and lamb seasoned to perfection, wrapped in a warm and fluffy pita bread. The meat is cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of spices and seasoning to give it that mouthwatering flavor that keeps you coming back for more. The pita bread is warm and soft, perfectly complementing the hearty meat filling. This gyro and pita is perfect for lunch, dinner or even as a snack. The portion size is generous and the dish is very filling. Overall, if you're looking for the best beef & lamb gyro and pita in town, look no further. It's definitely worth trying and is sure to leave you feeling satisfied and craving more
Jessica Burton: 10/10! Every time we eat here we are always happy with our food.Every time we have introduced new people to this place they have been very happy with their food. The food itself is always delicious and fresh even when ordered to go . The steak is always tender and flavorful and the chicken is delicious as well. The beef/lamb is always a good way to go if you are looking for a traditional gyro. The veggies are always fresh and their cooked veggies are always soo good. The service is always quick and they are always accommodating to any requests we might have. On the rate occasion the service was slower than usual they have always show their gratitude towards us for waiting. The outside seating area is a favorite for us during the summer and the inside is always clean and great to sit in when we don't sit outside. If you are looking for a good gyro place, this is the place to go! Deangelo Hayden: First, let me say I found this place because of the reviews and thought I would be great. The atmosphere was very nice and clean. The service was very good and the food was prepared and served very fast. The staff was nice and friendly. The food..... The gyro was bland and needed more meat. The fries were ok as well, but I just had feta cheese sprinkled onto it. The falafel wasn't good at all and is kept in a draw under the stove. Half of the food purchased was discarded. Maybe it was an off day. Im not sure, but compared to other gyro places around Stl. I put this place 2nd to last. Hopefully, they get better. The food looked good but just didn't taste good.
Scott Perdue: Had promise but I think we caught them on an off-night. Service was slow despite the restaurant being practically empty – I think they were filling online orders. They were scraping the bottom of the container for all our ingredients so we didn’t get the freshest. But overall, it wasn’t bad. The red pepper hummus was the standout for me.One thing to note is that the prices on their website are outdated. Both the bowl and gyro were $1 more than listed online.
Michael Meara: Their Orzo soup was meh. Warm, not hot and lacking in flavor. Odd because you would think a place named Orzo would excel at a dish with Orzo in it.
Cee Jay: Chile this was delicious. Steak was juicy and the bowl was yummy. I’ve had the chicken bowl through door dash and that was even better. We had a good lunch date here and plan on coming back.
