Valerie Unger: Don’t bring a large family to this restaurant. They wouldn’t let us put 2 tables together and there were plenty of empty ones. The hostess was rude, hostile. Said we could eat outside in the rain on a wet table and chairs. Said no one called her to move tables so she wouldn’t allow it. Get over yourself! I asked for a recommendation and for a first timer and tried there famous beef nooner! We wasn’t sure if we wanted to stay and found the patio! The food was so delicious and the special Gates sauce was magnificent!!! Lindsay “Sweet Clucker” T: This bbq place in Kansas City was recommended to us by multiple people, it exceeded my expectations! It was just what I wanted. The brisket and the ribs were my favorite! The ribs were the best I have ever had. The beans were a little sweet for my liking but everything else was great. We sat at the bar and the service was really good and attentive. I recommend getting there before 11:30 it got very busy after that. The restaurant is beautiful, different vibe than the Austin bbq spots.

Elena McNickle: I have never been a big BBQ fan.This place is hands-down the best barbecue I have ever had and I would have it any day. It doesn’t matter what kind of mood I am in, Q39 always makes my mouth water. It is the only place I have been where the brisket has a perfect smoke line, will literally fall apart with your fingers, and has no fat on it. The burnt ends are to die for. And I highly recommend the best wings on the planet for your appetizer, they are called that for a reason.If you are coming on a Friday or Saturday night, or there is a game of some sorts, call ahead to reserve seating or you will have a long wait. The wait is totally worth it, but still.Unfortunately I am moving out of the area soon and I will say this place is probably what I will miss most about KC, and if I ever come back to visit, I will eat here in a heartbeat.Parking: Parking is very hard to come by on a busy night, usually you have to park across the street or somewhere you are not supposed to.

David Carson: I've been to BBQ places all of over the country as well as cooking my own for decades. I fully recommend stopping by one of these restaurants. The meats are a little light on rub, but have nice hickory wood flavor with about a 1/4" deep smoke ring. Sides were also good. We sat in the bar area and the bartender Anthony was as good a server as you will ever meet. The restaurant was clean, along with the bathrooms and even the outside area around the building. Great experience.
