National WWI Museum and Memorial: what do users think?
KC RatingsGuy: One of the best tours in all of KC! The World War I museum takes around 60-90 minutes to get through. Seeing WWI through stories, gear and equipment is eye opening to first World War and this spot is one of treasures of KC.

Valpirio Monteiro: A melhor coleção de artefatos da Primeira Guerra Mundial.
Cynthia R. Mayhew: This place is fantastic. The majority of the galleries are open to the public for free, and the exhibits that do require a fee are very reasonably priced.

Roula Khawam: Enjoyed our time at the National WWI Museum. Very informative. There is a lot to read in the display cases, so take your time. Not likely an entertaining museum for very young kids. My only real complaint is that a small number of the display cases had so much glare on them from the overhead lights, which made it hard to read the informational text. Worth a visit, but not the kind of museum you'll go to over and over again.
jpg archive: The amount of information here -- text, illustrations, actual artifacts - would put to shame several locations of the Smithsonian system. It's that good. Please plan to spend most or all of your day here. With your ticket stubs, you can give yourself a break by going to the tower pavilion, strolling the grounds, grabbing lunch at nearby Union Station or Crown Center (etc.), then return to pick up where you left off. If you want to understand "how we got here", it wasn't the big show of 1937-1945. It was the Great War that wrecked a world.

Jeremy Miller: What a great an amazing place! I was there for 2 hours and still could go back! Such a great example of American and world history. A great place to help any generation learn about history so we don’t repeat it!
Frecky Lewis: This is certainly a sobering museum to visit. The experience begins with a short video explaining the events that led up to World War I, and as soon as the war "begins" the video ends and the doors to the museum itself open. It's a powerful way of setting the stage for everything you are about to view in the museum. Obviously I wouldn't recommend bringing small children here, as the things portrayed are pretty horrifying, but this is history in all its grisly detail.

Mariah Smiley: I've been to this place multiple times and it's beautiful every season. I've introduced it to many friends as a fantastic place to explore. A lot of the times that I go, there is 0-1 other person there so I jokingly pretend that I'm just stepping back in time and this is my own town 😂 It is a beautiful and peaceful place to have a picnic, walk your dog, visit the Bison, and explore some trails! If I wasn't moving away, I'd honestly sign up to volunteer to help take care of this place. The doctor's backyard garden is a dream project! 💕

Armita: Amazing little neighborhood to walk through the 1800s. This amazing museum has 21 structures with 13 authentic building dates from 1807 to 1885. You can walk around the area for free. The inside of the buildings are only open during events. The events are usually cash only and affordable. The 1800s Christmas event were $5 cash only event. There are also signs outside of each building telling where the buildings came from and a bit history about the buildings.

While not a great museum for introducing high school students to contemporary art (the primary goal for my most recent visit) due to few educational guides and scaffolds, it is a well curated collection for those who are already engaged in the artistic conversation.

We went with kids 3-11 years old and were there for almost 3 hours and didn’t even get through everything! Lots of stations, activities, art, and play areas. The Regnier Family Wonderscope Children's Museum of Kansas City: what do users think?
Stefan Hodgden: They called CPS on us because my child told some bullies to stop breaking things and to be quiet when the staff was talking. We were visited by CPS, at which point they concluded the case to be closed. How do you get a visit from CPS? When there is signs of abuse and neglect. So you're telling me my son, who actually had intended to be good and promoted positive change, is now being blamed and us parents have to be punished for this?My son never broke anything. Th told him to shut and and that they don't care, to my son. We never received one email or call regarding any issues with his behavior until CPS was called. He never threatened to hurt anyone or himself. Not even the director knew that CPS had been called. They jumped the gun. In Missouri its a misdemeanor to make false claims of child neglect. So many wrongs here and in the wake is now a child that has to pay and parents that have to explain to him why. Thanks wonderscope, I'm sure your own parents would have loved it if CPS would have been called on them.
Caroline Knecht: We were members and chose not to renew. Part of it is because of their new ticketing policy that requires everyone, even members, to reserve tickets in advance. We were denied entry because they were at capacity one day, so I understand the need to limit crowds, but this way isn't great. We were asked to leave early because they were setting up an event (no emails or signs on the doors about this). We are frequently forced to leave exhibits so they can be reset. They clearly have a lot of growing pains they need to work out. It is a fun place, but it's frustrating to have to disappoint my kids because of all these new rules, random closings and overcrowding.

Allice Crawford: I booked my party MONTHS IN ADVANCETo the woman who kicked my daughter in the head with a soccer ball at FULL FORCE. and didn’t even apologize and said “she looks unphased “ I begged Wonderscope Children's Museum to do something about it. They refused. I asked about them at least keeping the mother from my child while we finish up her party. They told me to “ call the cops “ I asked for corporate or any number I can call Monday morning. They refused. They never checked in my party. They never wanted to leave from behind their desk. And this was all AFTER I was extremely flexible with them canceling my order for donuts and goodie bags less than 48/hrs in advance. And I never even got upset. I just provided my child w everything myself. So I’m conclusion DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS TO Wonderscope Children's Museum They will let adults assault you children. They won’t care. They won’t do anything. They are not reliable. And every kid who attended my daughters party was genuinely upset because they thought they would be hit by this woman next. And nothing would be done. A simple apology and communication could have fixed this. instead they met us with complete disregard and disrespect. Never again will we attend.

Abbi Suess: This was one of the coolest places I have taken my kids this far. We were there from 12-close and still had more we could do. The kids loved story time and got to make a super hero craft. All of the staff is very friendly and work hard to keep everything picked up while the kids play. They also have “mouth toy” bins for toys that littles put in their mouth. The Market was so cute and all the kids loved being able to use a shopping cart. The water area was also a favorite! My kids would have stayed all day if they could! I highly recommend!

Asia Horton: Wonderscope as always is an amazing place for the kids, however since it’s spring break, wonderscope was doing pre-order tickets. Unfortunately this was unknown to us and we were turned away. Which caused quite a few tears for the little one. Many other families came in and were turned away causing their own kids to cry.
Joshua E: The kids absolutely loved this place! Staff does a great job of keeping the place looking and feeling clean, despite the enormous amount of kids there daily. There was plenty of different play areas and activities to keep the kids busy for hours on end! It’s nice that the kids can go from playing outside to inside so easily! The kids have already asked to go back! & we will be!
Tamara Quinones: We bought a year membership for our family last year, and we've used it heavily! I've got 4 kids ages range from 3 to 12, and they all love going here. I've taken some of my older kids' friends, and they loved it, too. This place is like if Science City and Paradise Park had a baby. It has a water play area, imaginative play with the shopping and cooking, jungle gym, outdoor play including a sand pit area. They also offer fun learning classes that you can sign up for while you're there. It doesn't cost extra either. We usually have a difficult time finding an indoor place whenever the weather is too much. Check it out!
Amanda Donovan: Our daughter loves Wonderscope! We have a yearly membership, which is well worth the price. There's so much to do, it's easy to spend at least an hour or so here. It can be crowded over the weekends, but it's still a lot of fun for the kids. Our daughter is under 5, she's at the perfect age to be able to enjoy all activities available.
Hatim: Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry $6–10More
Em Eff: A very nice place to spend a couple of hours or more! We go with our daughter and 3 year old grandson. There are many varied enrichment activities for a good range of age. I like that I can participate with my grandson. The staff is attentive without being invasive. The water works station is our favorite and the ball area is a runner up.
Jazmine Roberts: I usually don’t do any reviews on places, but this place called Wonderscope is one that hit a nerve. I went up there to book a birthday for my child’s first birthday, but the birthday coordinator wasn’t there. So therefore I emailed her telling her what I’m looking for, then the called me the next day. Ms. Maggie Fayard called me telling me in a rude and ugly way that we have an event that day, so we only 10am available. No apology or inconvenience, i will never come to this place and I do not recommend to anyone.

There is a large ballroom that is used for weddings as well as special events, and several areas in the lower level are used for special exhibits (there was a Spiderman exhibit going on when we visited). Fun place to walk around even if you have no plans to dine here.
Henry Williams: Would be the perfect place to put up another big parking lot but the building is very pretty so I'll let it slide

Chris Bolek: Classic Kansas City icon. Always has fun exhibits and activities for the family. We love going to the planetarium and using the link over to crown center. You can park for free in river market then catch the Streetcar over for free too. Admission to Union Station is free but the activities inside are mostly paid attractions. The grand hall is really cool and the hallway back to the link shows photos and stories from the construction and opening of what was once the largest train station in the country and was one of the last built of its size.
RedBullKC: Union Station in KC is pretty compared to some others! It has a few restaurants throughout, along with some local shopping for souvenirs or local favorites! A movie theater, Lockout Rooms, Science City (for kids) and more! This visit was for the "special Spider-Man exhibit"..... as you can tell! The exhibit was "okay!" Great camera and light works, nice displays of vintage comic books 📚, and several movie used props! Great for adults, but not much for kids until they get to the retail shop to look around and make purchases! Ehhhh, it was alright, but by the time we ventured thru the rest of Union Station and bought ice cream 🍦 😋, it made it all worthwhile! 😉Price for entry: $25.00Ticket type: Special Spider-Man display!

Alvvin Reynosa (CHU4A_CABw4-54. Chewy): I been on Amtrak for 25 years passing through K.C. I finally saw the inside of the station. And at for the Christmas display and decorations was mind blowing. I read the history stuff in there. If you have a layover please visit the station, definitely worth your time.PS don't ever travel through station or come to station if possible, during the NFL DRAFT It was pure chaos trying to get dropped off or picked up at Kansas City station. Enjoy this little jem tucked away , u won't be disappointed.

Other exhibits, Post Office, stores, Restaurants, theatre, and museums within the building. Parking garage. Walkways to hotels, restaurants and additional shopping at Crowne Center, Freight House restaurants. Crossroads is nearby. Street car to River market begins at Union Station.
