The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art: what do users think?
Abram Gonzalez: Very cool place!
Grace Jackson: Came to KC for a trip from Oklahoma. Stopped by the museum and WOW. it’s absolutely breathtaking. Super clean, and the atmosphere is so beautiful. Highly recommend
Chris P.: A wide variety of art from all over the globe and various eras. The grounds have a ton of different sculptures as well as a snack bar and mini-golf. The Egyptian, Asian and American Indian exhibits were really great. They have a couple tombs as well as several huge statues from Hindu and Buddhist cultures. The staff is very helpful and includes free coat check with several different areas that’s kid friendly.
Jim B: Better than I ever imagined. We enjoyed every hour of our walk through the museum. There was a lot to see. The history, techniques, and talent were simply amazing. This is a perfect place to go on a hot day. Park in the cool underground parking lot (14.00) and enjoy the perfect indoor climate while enjoying the beautiful art.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes Price for adult entry Free …More

Kansas City Zoo: what do users think?
Vince Benedetto: I appreciate all the work the staff put into taking care of all the critters!!Had a great experience, been upwards of 15 years since I visited and overall enjoyable. This time gap gives me an interesting perspective now, after so many years of projects and upgrades. Knowing there's tons of money being pumped into the zoo overall helps my feelings, but still feel the need to express thisI was tremendously under-impressed by the lack of relatively recent monies and updates put into the whole North sector of the Zoo. All the old cat/bear cages are great ideas for reuse, free and easy to throw smaller mnkeys, cats and birds in there. But it's 90% identical to my childhood in the 90's and I left that area disappointed. Felt like they were all relegated to that area, while the spotlight shines on the more popular animals.

Matt Tessier: I hate to leave a three star review. It’s an impressive zoo, and we saw some cool things, but the ride situation is out of control. It seems like everything is a paid “add-on” once you get inside after having paid a high admission price. The train ride was probably 100 yards and the “tram ride” takes you like 150 ft, and after you pay for that, you find out it’s not round trip! Then the sky ride is extra money…then the carousel is extra money….then the boat ride is extra money…then feeding the stingrays is extra money. Felt extorted once inside. Very sad to leave such a review for my wife’s childhood zoo, because there are some good memories there, but the ride situation is unfortunate

Kent Boydstun II: An ok zoo, no what I would expect for a major metropolitan area. Would highly recommend getting the bands, helps avoid paying for the trams, carousel and other things. Be prepared for high cost food. Would recommend bring a lunch as they have plenty of picnic tables to have lunch at.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes Price for adult entry $21–30 …More
Alexis Donnelly: First thing I noticed walking in this zoo was trash in the turtle pond. Was a bit unsettling. There was a lot more than I would have liked to see. Most animals looked unhappy. My biggest pet peeve was the straws they give you for the slushies. Someone in corporate really needs to know about that. The tiny straws are not appropriate for large slushies at all. The guy working the ski-lift could use an attitude change. Soley giving 4 stars based off of memories with family. Seriously though the straw thing was a visible problem for everyone who had one.

Kaleidoscope: what do users think?
Wylie Momma: Great, free place to take kids. It was definitely better and more aesthetically pleasing before they remodeled it, but still a neat thing for kids to do and you can't beat free.Visited on Weekday Wait time Up to 10 min Reservation recommended Yes Price for adult entry Free …More
K: I love that it’s free and gives kids the opportunity to be creative with all sorts of different art materials. I would highly recommend checking it out if you have kids. Be sure to book tickets online though because spots fill up fast. You can’t just show up and get a same day ticket. They have a certain amount of guests per time a lot. It is wheelchair accessible and stroller friendly so when you go in you can just park your stroller near the pictures of clouds and you don’t have to worry about it. They should give you a 2 hour free parking pass. Be sure that you are parking in the right area beforehand though. I parked in the wrong parking garage and had to pay full price.

Amanda Donovan: I wasn’t expecting things to look so dull and sterile. This isn’t what I recall from my childhood. I was really excited to get an opportunity to finally take my 5YO, based on what I remember. There wasn’t much to do besides draw on different cuts of paper with dried out markers, water color that was murky from kids not rinsing their brushes, and melted crayon wax. All the stations looked almost exactly the same, minus one space that had a wheel of fabric. I recall the space with a much more whimsical feel to it, now it’s just white and minimalist with a little bit of color. It makes me think it was designed with Ikea products? It’s very underwhelming. My 5YO struggled to stay focused, as all stations were almost identical. I could tell she wasn’t that thrilled because when she is engaged and excited, I struggle to pull her away, and she sometimes becomes upset (this happens at Science City a lot—she LOVES it. We had time to stop by after thankfully and utilize our membership passes). We walked out with no issue, she could care less.Disappointed to say the least. I know it’s free, but considering the waitlist is weeks long, I was anticipating her to experience the same magic I seem to recall from my childhood, like many fellow KC Native reviewers before me had mentioned. I don’t feel like she experienced that feeling, and felt no inspiration to create—nor did I to come up with creative ideas with her. Very much unlike her, she loves to craft and create! Maybe if a more similar theme to the old one had been designed in the remodel, she’d have enjoyed herself more. This is for kids, after all. I don’t feel like the current look sparks creativity as the old look did. Maybe I’m just being too reminiscent. The staff was very friendly though, so 5/5 for them.
Alasha Rainez: Loved this as a kid and can't wait for my son age 2 gets to go experience it soon. I'll be booking soon for him.
marina coon: My son loved it so much! Can't wait to take my daughter
dalton thomas: We took the kids out for fun but by far we loved it just as much
Cecil Bills: This an awesome interactive art shop for young children. The only limits is their imagination .
Queen Bree: Love this place
Krystina Tiger: A fun free thing to do with kids, I was expecting a little more but for not paying anything I can't complain.
SterlingJamie Bryant: Really enjoy coming to Kaleidoscope! They are definitely giving kids a great experience with creative arts and crafts, and free of charge at that!As a parent, I did find there to be a little less variety since they remodeled during the pandemic. I heard from the front desk that is more friendly to kids on the spectrum in different ways. I definitely support that. One of favorite stations that my kids enjoyed was the watercolors, on the back corner of the room. They even made hats! When we visited most recently, we were walk ins. I do suggest doing your best to reserve a time slot ahead of time.I would also advise coming earlier in the day. Their last session begins at 2:30p and ends at 3:20p.The front desk is less likely to help you enter as a walk in towards the end of the day but if you arrive before the beginning of a session, you are more likely to grab a spot as long as you have your kiddos with you!I will be coming back again with my wife and kids very soon and I recommend Kaleidoscope to anyone with kids that lives within driving distance of Kansas City, keeping in mind that there are many other things to do and places to visit within Crown Center and downtown KC.Atmosphere:5Family Experience:5Friendliness of Staff:4.5Homeschooling Activity:5
Zach Hyatt: Was incredibly disappointed. I remember this place being colorful and abstract and you knew what to do at the stations. There was neon lights you could color. Now it’s just so basic and minimal to no color. It’s all just coloring station with markers that don’t work. Save for a small wax station and water color paint area. It was awful. We left before our time session was even up. We were bored and didn’t know what to do or make. They used to have station that you could make different crafts at and you were actually learning to make something now it’s just paper and fading markers.
Becca Shideler: 14, 10, 8, and 4 year old all had fun at this place. O and us parents too! So many fun activities for the kids to do, and completely free! Only thing is make sure and get your tickets in advance. My kids left with so many new creations. They even had fun games for the kids to play if they were tires of arting. 10 year old made a chicken beak, that has made its way into a special spot so it wouldn't get crushed. 14 and 4 year old left with capes. But the 8 year old got the best prize of all she got a special Birthday sticker! She told the staff her birthday was tomorrow, and the brought out this cute sticker for her to wear.
kelsey guiot: It has completely changed, lost of coloring stations, a small puzzle making machine, water coloring station, wax drip station but that's pretty much it. Nice bathrooms. I recommed calling ahead to reserve a spot or at least to know when they are letting people in. You only have so long before your session is done btw i didn't know it was a limited time. All and all clean and open... but it was more fun when i was a kid, more to do anyway.
Kris Bever: We really enjoyed our visit. Our kids had a good time and so did we.
Michael DePriest Sr.: Long time Kansas City staple I took my grandson. I remember going as a child.
kmhemeyer: We had an okay time. It wasnt the same experience that i remember as a child although they had similar components. Very open ended. For me as a parent i would like to know what i should be doing at each station to help guide my young chidren. They just scribbled on odd shapped paper and then did the same at the next station. My kids rated it a 4. I would say 2 because we can do the same activities at home.
Amanda Quisenberry: Went today and my daughter loved it she is 6. But I remember going as a child and even a few years back when I babysit other children and it was so much more magical and the decor was more fun. I’m not a fan of the minimalist look they have going on there from the remodel. I was hoping they would have made it a lot more magical and artistic like it was when I was a kid. I miss the black lights in the room as well which was my favorite part.

Penguin Park: what do users think?
Addie C: Love the place so much but one thing is, the graffiti is a big problem especially because it's everywhere!!!
Linda Stayton: Great unique park for various aged kids. There's also a long, paved looping path behind it. It goes around a fishing pond with park benches along the way.
Angela young: This park is very popular. It's one of the busiest in the kc northland. Kids live it.Playground: My son says he likes penguin park because it's easy to make friends there. My daughter likes the climbing set.Restrooms: They have flush toilets. :)Dog-friendliness: There's a nice paved walking trail that's over a mile long.Picnic area: There are covered picnic tables and tables in full sun.
Anthony Reyes: Nice park and different vs. the other parks you find in the area. Would recommend going in the morning as it get overwhelming packed towards the afternoon.
Alex Northrup: Dirty. Too busy. Individuals with drug problems.
Sleep: Wish they had more shady areas but it's fun for the kids
Diana Shores: Grandkids enjoyed the park!
Kathrine Daniels: Awesome 😎
Michelle Woods: Little ones love this place.. lots of updates equipment
Connie Wagenknecht: My little ones love Penguin Park. There are areas for toddlers and older children. There is a large covered area with tables that is very popular for birthday parties. Several grills are situated around it. There are restrooms and water fountains.
S. Lacombe: Clean
Vashel Williams: My boys love this park
jim lewis: So much fun!
Stephen Coleman: It's trippy to be in a park, with your granddaughters that you first visited, before their father was born! PEACE
KGORE: BUSY!
Karin Ellis: Dog-friendliness: Trails are paved and lighted at night. Waste bags are provided in a few places along the path.
Ila Moore: Kids had a good time. I used to play here when I was a little kid
Leah Buenneke: My 3.5 yo loved this park! Only 4 stars because of the parking lot set up, its way too open & close to the park. If you have a runner kid, be careful
Outback: When I was a kid growing up in KC my brother and I would play at this park. Such a great surprise to see that it is still there.
Nicole Esquino: Nice park with a good variety of play equipment. Our 5 year old was fascinated by the giant animals. Our dogs enjoyed walking the trail that is behind the park. Recommend.
Daphne Elizabeth: A super fun park for kids! Probably the biggest playground in the area!

Marcel Neves: Smaller than expected and unorganized. Clearly understaffed. There should be more staff to guide at each station. Pieces of Lego on the floor everywhere, the place was dirty. My kids liked it but we’re not very engaged.

Patrick O'Dea: I love Legos so yeah I am going to like this place
Shannon V: We had 5 adults and 4kids. This was good fun for all of us. They have two rides that are included in the price. This was a pleasant surprise. Adults can ride too. The only extra cost was the VR game, which we opted out of. The wizard of oz and Stadium builds were very impressive! The kids had fun making there own builds and racing cars on the track. Starbucks inside that sells food at regular prices. (Not inflated like a lot of other places)
Anna James: It was pretty nice. Only issue is the price for me. I think it’s way too much for a 2 and a half hour experience. Like $25 dollars a person - kids and adults both at that price - is a lot for what you get. If it was more like $15 per person I would say it would be more worth it… Kids had fun, just wish there were a couple more things for them to do.
J G: VERY expensive! My kids loved the bike ride, and it was fun watching them do the vr rollercoaster but I don't think it would be worth the price to go again. They do close at a certain time so we had to come back for the aquarium that we bought a joint pass for the next day. Alexis Donnelly: Great place for all ages. They have smaller rides, shows, food & drinks, challenges, building stations, and of course Legos. They had Legos of all kinds. The employees here were better than Chick-Fil-A employees. Every employee had a very strong personality that shined through their work employee character. More businesses should strive to have Legoland employees. They were all kind and seemed to all love their job. They put the same magic in Legoland that Disney employees put into Disney world. Will definitely be visiting again.
Jace Bardwell: Customer service was severely lacking. One cashier was unable to put a certain amount of my purchase on one card and the remainder of the balance on another (I had money in my Venmo account and used my checking to complete the rest of the transaction). When I got home, the $300 set was missing multiple bags of pieces, I could not even start at step 1 as a result. I went back to the store, another 30 minute drive. Same cashier who was unable to process my transaction was leaning on the checkout counter with her back to the line, playing on her phone. With people in line. I finally spoke to a manager and they said they were not able to exchange or return the set as it had been opened, as they are not a retail store, but a gift shop. They refused to exchange my set for another on the shelf. They told me I had to contact LEGO to get the pieces I was missing and it could take a week for that to happen. I instead drove to Oak Park Mall where LEGO has a retail store, and they gladly exchanged my opened set for a new set, that had all of the pieces included. Next time I purchase a set in store, I will be going to the Oak Park location, and I'd advise you to do the same. I have never in my 25+ years of building had a set that was missing pieces nor have to go through so much trouble to get the problem resolved.
Julie Davis: It was ok, very small and not alot to do. Kids were ready to leave in an hour. For the orice you pay plus the vr ride you pay for, it just didnt add up for me and my family. Definitely needs to be alot bigger with more to do. The 4D movie wasnt worth the hype.nothing seemed to come out the screen. Ashley Rohrbach: I came with my family on a Monday- it was $162 for a family of 2 adults, 2 kids. For sealife and legoland. We were hoping this place would be cool.It was just alright. Some of the attractions were broken down or not able to be used. Really Disappointed in the 4d movies - the ones we saw were NOT 4d. Nothing happened. No air , wind, feeling of nothing. Isn’t that what a 4d movie is supposed to be? And the 3D glasses were all dirty and looked liked they’d been passed around to everyone all day and not cleaned. Gross.I brought it to the attention of an employee outside of the theater, she said “no one has had problems all day.” I said that’s odd, because other people in that theater were saying the same. That employee just didn’t care at all it seemed.I brought it to the attentionof another employee, and same thing- she just said “oh there are some dead spots in the theater.”I just think it would have been nice if an employee, someone cared enough to make sure we did get to experience it in 4d.No one cared. Lego land was overall, very dusty, dirty, 4d movies weren’t working, 3D glasses dirty, and more than 2 employees seemed to not care, at all.On top of that, I thought it was way overpriced.Very disappointing. Please, do better.
Zevan Gustafson: Definitely not worth the price. A lot of the activities you could do at home or were lame. The best part was the Lego display of Kansas City and the wizard of oz. Tracy: I have spent tens of thousands at Lego Store, Legolands, etc over the years. Today is the firat time back here since covid. Its was 82.00 for 2 children and 1 adult. They removed ALL exhibits except one small room. There is very little building experiences and the movie theater was shut down due to low volume of visitors. The only options were low budget rides and the coffeeshop which also was closing 2 hrs early. VERY, VERY disappointed in Lego and will NEVER be back. It is very unfortunate. Diane Yzar: Fun place for the entire family. We arrived soon after a thunderstorm. Many rides were shut down for about an hour. Many people were kept away due to recent rains. That kept lines short and more enjoyable for us.
Riley Lyons: Wow.... What a terrible amusement park. Cedar Fair really just takes your money and doesn't care if you have fun or if the rides are safe. Some of the rides are incrediblely rough and ride operators barley check safety belts and lap bars. My wife's seat belt wasn't checked on the timberwolf. A ride that killed someone in the 90's. Also the Mamba was so rough on the return it hurt my back. Bad enough I'm still dealing with pain almost two weeks later. This park has multiple world themes much like Epcot but a rinky dink version. Theming was sparse and only visual employees were just there to take money and push buttons. Several rides were down throughout the day. The food was chicken fingers and burgers at every vendor. Or you can pay 4x the regular price for panda Express or the parks version of Chipotle. Overall I'm never returning to this park.Price for entry: $65.00

Ryan Murphy: Not a great experience. 2023 WOF is not the same as 1990 WOF. Parking is a ridiculously $30. Half the rides were broken. The shops and games are expensive and seriously lacking. Basic carnival vibe. The bigger roller coasters were great but not enough of them due to 60% of rides being out of order. Don’t waste your money.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes Price for adult entry $31+ …More

Tara Tirrell: If you are a smoker? DON'T GO HERE !!!!!! You will end up spending more time walking out of the park and not having fun at all. The hours of operation got cut down along with half of their food vendors. No more turkey legs, nachos, or churros. Basically chicken strips or pizza are your choices. ☹️ Half of their rides and water features are closed as well. No more aqua obsticale course or Monsoon either. One good thing to note is they added a killer pot roast to the menu at sand dune diner.

Elena McNickle: I’ve lived in KC for 2 years and I’ve been to worlds of fun 6 times. It’s super fun every time!! However the lines are really long on weekends, I made it a point to always go on a week day when I had a chance because then I was able to ride pretty much everything in the park. The only gripe I would say I had is that EVERY SINGLE TIME I went, the Mamba was under maintenance for at least 2 hours. And the last time I went, I visited both Worlds and Oceans of fun on opening weekend, and more than half of the ride at Oceans of Fun were down for maintenance and it was very disappointing. But other than that, it was a great experience with great staff!
travis jones: Not allowing certain people to ride new Zambezi zinger coaster, that's unfair.

Clarissa Feldman: So worth the ticket prices! Took niece and nephew there and spent all morning and still didn't get everything checked out. 3 levels and multiple rooms with things to do and explore. Plus and outdoor explore/play area. 100% worth the time, very interactive and a great learning center. Plan to spend 3 plus hours there.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry $16–20 …More
Matt: Great museum for kids of all ages. Multiple levels. Areas for younger age group. It's off their Union Station which is cool as well.
Anna James: This place is a hidden gem!! We have passed this place up many times, thinking it was a small exhibit. This place is HUGE, there is so much to do for all ages! We went with kids 3-11 years old and were there for almost 3 hours and didn’t even get through everything! Lots of stations, activities, art, and play areas. I can not express enough how worth it this place was! We paid 10 dollars more per ticket to go to legoland and we got through that in 2 hours - it was way smaller. The price is great and the kids have so much fun!
Warren Ballard: I have been there before, but it is always fun, especially when I am with a group of family.

Crazy Honda Chris: This place we way better than one would expected. We originally put this on our vacation schedule as a filler in between Ocean of Fun and World of Fun, not realizing that's just an hour visit with three kids. You can easily make this a four hour visit like we have done. There are so many cool things to keep everyone occupied by brian teaser, fun facts, play areas indoors, and out door area. Definitely would recommend it to anyone with kids going through Kansas City.

Shoal Creek Living History Museum: what do users think?
Michele Fry: Loved this hidden gem in the City of Liberty! Informational and interesting! We went when they weren't having any events, so you couldn't see directly inside, but they had informational boards with pictures on each place. Cristi H: My family comes here several times a year. It's a nice quiet place to wonder around and look at 19th century buildings. It's a self guided tour but there are certain days of the year that the buildings are open and actors are there. It's free except on the days of the events. It's so beautiful and peaceful. I highly recommend a visit.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry Free …More

Roxy 7.0: I don't think you can take a stroller as we tried and it didn't work. They have signs for wheelchair though out but I'm not sure how that would work out either. Gravel can be slippery so precaution is needed, no running or you will slip and fall. Best part of the entire area are the bison.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry Free …More
Mariah Smiley: I've been to this place multiple times and it's beautiful every season. I've introduced it to many friends as a fantastic place to explore. A lot of the times that I go, there is 0-1 other person there so I jokingly pretend that I'm just stepping back in time and this is my own town 😂 It is a beautiful and peaceful place to have a picnic, walk your dog, visit the Bison, and explore some trails! If I wasn't moving away, I'd honestly sign up to volunteer to help take care of this place. The doctor's backyard garden is a dream project! 💕
Keaton Carey: Hi little girls 😘
J Hall: There are a lot of historic buildings here. Some were moved here. It doesn't matter what time of year, you'll still get to see a lot of history here and they have plaques explaining what you're looking at.
Aaron Garrison: Neat place with some historical buildings.
Reno Meihlik: Schöner und weitläufiger Park mit Freilichtmuseum, Sportstätten, Spielplätzen, Golfplatz und Picknickplätzen.Im Winter sehr ruhig und friedvoll.

Armita: Amazing little neighborhood to walk through the 1800s. This amazing museum has 21 structures with 13 authentic building dates from 1807 to 1885. You can walk around the area for free. The inside of the buildings are only open during events. The events are usually cash only and affordable. The 1800s Christmas event were $5 cash only event. There are also signs outside of each building telling where the buildings came from and a bit history about the buildings.
