The Egyptian, Asian and American Indian exhibits were really great. They have a couple tombs as well as several huge statues from Hindu and Buddhist cultures. The staff is very helpful and includes free coat check with several different areas that’s kid friendly.

Armita: A must see museum in Kansas City area. The ground floor of the museum tells the story of the Long family. This was their home from 1914 to 1932. Long family was the titans of the lumber industry from western Missouri to Longview, WA. The second floor is all about Kansas City history and third floor is art exhibition. There are free street parking around the museum and the admission is free.

National WWI Museum and Memorial: what do users think?
KC RatingsGuy: One of the best tours in all of KC! The World War I museum takes around 60-90 minutes to get through. Seeing WWI through stories, gear and equipment is eye opening to first World War and this spot is one of treasures of KC.

Roula Khawam: Enjoyed our time at the National WWI Museum. Very informative. There is a lot to read in the display cases, so take your time. Not likely an entertaining museum for very young kids. My only real complaint is that a small number of the display cases had so much glare on them from the overhead lights, which made it hard to read the informational text. Worth a visit, but not the kind of museum you'll go to over and over again.
jpg archive: The amount of information here -- text, illustrations, actual artifacts - would put to shame several locations of the Smithsonian system. It's that good. Please plan to spend most or all of your day here. With your ticket stubs, you can give yourself a break by going to the tower pavilion, strolling the grounds, grabbing lunch at nearby Union Station or Crown Center (etc.), then return to pick up where you left off. If you want to understand "how we got here", it wasn't the big show of 1937-1945. It was the Great War that wrecked a world.

Jeremy Miller: What a great an amazing place! I was there for 2 hours and still could go back! Such a great example of American and world history. A great place to help any generation learn about history so we don’t repeat it!
Frecky Lewis: This is certainly a sobering museum to visit. The experience begins with a short video explaining the events that led up to World War I, and as soon as the war "begins" the video ends and the doors to the museum itself open. It's a powerful way of setting the stage for everything you are about to view in the museum. Obviously I wouldn't recommend bringing small children here, as the things portrayed are pretty horrifying, but this is history in all its grisly detail.

Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art: what do users think?
Travis Truong: Although the museum was small, the museum still had plenty of artwork to see and it wasn’t time-consuming. So consider going to this museum if you’re either time-strapped or want a quick relief to boredom.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Price for adult entry Free …More
Ben Williams: I enjoy art of all kinds, and I found the Kemper to be interesting and helpfully minimalistic in its approach. While not a great museum for introducing high school students to contemporary art (the primary goal for my most recent visit) due to few educational guides and scaffolds, it is a well curated collection for those who are already engaged in the artistic conversation.

The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures: what do users think?
Bryan Mccurley: Really worth it!!! Really cool place
Dave Brizendine: Actually two museums in one. The first floor was full of absolutely stunning miniatures. I was initially struck by the detail and beauty and artistry of the tiny pieces. Then I was struck by an appreciation for the skill and patience of the artists. The second floor toy museum was a walk down memory lane, as they say. A wonderful experience. Set aside about 2 hours for this and enjoy! There was a reasonable entrance fee but I have forgotten what it was.

Sherrie Ortiz: This one is a true gem.  Remodeled in 2015. If you have not visited the new space, it defiantly needs to be moved up to the top of your list. The toy collection is vast and very entertaining. No matter what your age it creates conversations of what life was like in a different time. Whether it was your childhood, Grand Parents or new retro toys that your own children may have….  the shared experience of seeing this unique collection will be talked about for days after your visit. The beautiful miniature art, furniture, models, doll houses with every tiny detail made in miniature will delight your family.  Over 22K objects to explore. I had the opportunity once to see a special guest artist talk about his craft.  He was a big guy, with large hands. He showed us how he actually made miniature tools in order to do the miniature work, right down to each dovetail of a dresser drawer. You can see some of this information and more on display there.  Truly a wonderful museum
Shamus Burns: Really interesting place to visit. The history and background information was awesome as well.

Abi Olson: Loved this tour! I actually did it with my family back in 2017 and I remember the feeling that came over me when I was walking around listening to the stories and looking over the old items. I came across this photo from the tour again today and realized I never reviewed it. I actually reached out to the tour guides after we finished ours because I wanted to know more about the mirror itself and it’s previous location and owner. I was smiling when this photo was taken but when I checked my photos afterwards it showed this shadowed figure and a light orb off to the side with my face distorted as well as something shaded over my hand that was holding my phone. Whether you’re into paranormal findings or history this tour is a must see.
P G: Great place to go to learn more local Civil War history! We were the first ones there and enjoyed the whole house to ourselves on our self-guided tour. We probably should’ve chosen the guided tour (and highly recommend that since there is SO much information), but we still learned a lot about the Wornall family. We spent about 1hr 20min there total, but it honestly didn’t even feel that long at all! Highly recommend!
