John Mauro: If you are looking to purchase a fireplace or stove and have Leisure World install it, or provide pool services, please read this review. Skip to my last paragraph for the short version.I purposely waited a year to write this review so I could give a complete review of the wood burning stove and Leisure World’s workmanship, after using it for a full season.First the stove review: Brian was incredibly patient in answering all my questions and helping me find the right stove for my home. When he didn’t know the answer, he went back to his distributor to get answers, so I could make an informed decision. He never rushed me in making a decision and always provided answers quickly and thoroughly, which I appreciated. I purchased a Pacific Energy Zero Clearance FP25 which has proven to be the perfect fit for providing about 90% of my heating needs this past winter. Given the layout and size of my house, it has worked exactly as Brian said it would.Now the workmanship: Probably like you, I’ve had many projects done on my homes throughout the years that I am unable or unwilling to tackle (roofs, driveways, wood stove installations, etc.). Some go well, some not so well. This one went exceptionally well! My chimney required an extensive amount of work as I was replacing an old gas fireplace with the wood burning unit. Justin and Eliseo were absolutely amazing in the work they did. Detailed, clean, reliable, and concerned about getting so many details right to meet performance and safety requirements was impressive. If these guys did any other home remodel work, I would hire them; they are that good.Kiah was so helpful in getting me updates while we were waiting for a final part from the manufacturer. She would follow up with me on a certain date as promised, even when there was no update yet on its arrival. This is great customer service.I highly recommend the whole team at Leisure World and I can confidently say that if you need ANY of their products or services, you are going to be treated right and the work will be done well, whether it’s fireplace or pool related, based on my experience. In this day and age, it is a welcome relief to know there are still businesses that exceed your expectations! Thanks Justin, Brian, Eliseo, and Kiah!

Evan Mitchell: Tell your associates to stop bypassing the email receipt option when checking out. Several of them try to hit the bypass option as fast as they can. E-receipts are much easier to categorize over pictures of a receipt.

Melanin Poppin: The location on Linwood Blvd is the ABSOLUTE BEST out of ALL the chains in Kansas City. The Linwood Location has Super Friendly, Helpful, Professional, Welcoming Staff members.I have been as far as 154th in Olathe and ALL the other Stores act as though Certain People of a Melanin Complexion have some sort of time limit as to how long they can be in the store. They act as if People of a Melanin Complexion are not Allowed to Browse. They want you In and Immediately Out. I see in the reviews at other Locations customers of a NON Melanin complexion saying they could not find help on the floors. This is because there will LITERALLY be 5-6 employees, in a Row, following the People of a Melanin Complexion around Asking a Million times if THEY need help when THEY aren't even Asking or even Looking as if they desire assistance. It's like security sees the Melanin Complexion people on camera and Instantly put staff on THEM, Way in Corner Aisle 44. Hmmmmmmm !!

Jason Riek: Please look elsewhere if you want a pleasent experience. I was instructed by Napoleon (fireplace manufacture) to come to Fire Place and Bar-B-Q Center as they are the closest authorized Napoleon dealer to complete a warranty item (broken remote thermostat receiver). This was a two-hour round-trip drive for me. The encounter with Fireplace and Bar-B-Q was horrific. The front desk staff member (wearing a Napoleon hat) refused to do the warranty claim. He tried to get me to go “down the street” to another fireplace company and while we were on the phone with the napoleon agent, the Fire Place and Bar-B-Q staff member asked me to take my stuff and move from the front desk. And walked away. No other customer was in the store. Luckily Napoleon customer service rep was on the phone and heard everything. Even the customer service agent for Napoleon stated how rude Fire Place and Bar-B-Q Center was and is sending me my replacement part in the mail so I would not have to go back. I could not imagine having that guy serve me fast food much less in my home doing fireplace work. Worst customer service I have received in a decades!

I was doing a complete fireplace remodel and they were helpful in assisting me throughout the process. When the time for installation of the insert came, they were on time, efficient and very respectful of my property. I highly recommend them!
Jess Adams: Initial experience with A salesperson was Great we purchased Natural Gas Burner Sets. Decided we would purchase our logs there as well the following day. One of the sets of logs we were interested in was on a working display the other set was next to an open display simply needed to be set inside so I could get a comparative visual to provide my Wife who unfortunately is disabled and has a hard time getting in and out of vehicle as I explained to the owner of the store.. He spent more time telling me how he needed to straighten his warehouse than it would have taken to help us make a decision between the two sets of logs I told him I couldn’t believe he didn’t want to make a sure sale on logs especially with us having bought the burner sets the day before, he stuck to his un helpful decision nevertheless I left empty handed and purchased two sets of logs later that day at a store that was far busier but actually cared about the customers needs regardless of it being peak time of the season etc. Very shocked to find out after my experience it was the store owner and not an employee that provided such poor customer service heck I’d of been happy to have placed the logs in display myself. Side note I’ve been self employed from day one serving the public and always treated people the way I would like to be a little extra effort is worth it in the long run but as I left he did tell me to have a nice day!

Benjamin Robinson: These guys are fantastic. They represent what a small, local business is in my mind. Great service and friendly, patient interactions. My family had just moved into a new house with a gas fireplace, but the manual had been lost and we had never used gas logs before. I called and sent some pictures to Mr. Kelly who sent me a PDF of the manual and walked me through starting the logs. He communicated everything very articulately and within minutes it was up and running. All of this at no charge. The best businesses are places that know a positive interaction with customers is far and away more important than nickel and diming. This is that sort of business.
Rebecca Haney: They have held $2500 of our money since AUGUST. The original install date was December, then January now February. After contacting Kozy Heat it sounds like an issue with a part. However, Jonathan the owner is emotionally unstable. He extended a $500 reduction in labor cost for my mom and dad last year when they had the exact same problem and told us he was canceling our order and would, "check to see if he could get my money refunded," since I left a poor review. Yes, Jonathan you will. It's called the Attorney State General and BBB. Go anywhere else and stay away from Kozy Heat! UNPROFESSIONAL HACKS

They then reviewed the pictures and made much less costly suggestions in response. I got the parts from them and now my fireplace works like a charm. I really appreciate their outstanding customer service and their integrity.

What can I say, this store brings out the worst in me.I went here Saturday evening to buy a tool battery for a project I was starting and needed immediately. Since it was Saturday night, there were very few customers in the store, and at least 5 red coat employees walking around on their own, not helping other people. I asked three different people if someone could unlock the battery case so I could get the battery and get out of there.The last person blankly said "no" when I asked if she had keys to unlock it. I then asked if she could call someone and she said "I mean I guess I could call the manager on duty..."Three people. Four overhead pages. Nobody ever came. I stood in tools by myself for a solid 20 minutes while multiple workers were walking around. Everyone ignored the pages. The manager on duty who was specifically paged twice never came. I pushed the "help" button in the tools aisle. It wasn't even hooked up.I'm an aging millennial who has nothing but empathy for customer service workers, and yet this was bad enough that I'm now that person complaining online.This was pathetic.I will obviously never go to this location again. The Shawnee Lowe's though? They're fantastic. Head there if you want to actually buy the things you need. If you want to stand helplessly next to the thing you want to buy while everyone who could open it for you ignores you and walks by, then this is the spot for you.TLDR: 0/10. Had a better time at the DMV.

They are beyond slow, unresponsive, don’t know where anything is or how to be efficient when checking people out—especially at the Pro desk. Those employees seem to be less capable than the others which seems backwards. Always a long wait for simple things to be done, never anyone helpful around and absolutely no hustle whatsoever. Super frustrating, but it’s a necessary evil for proximity when a project is very close to this location—that may need to change.

B. W: In Omaha I loved Menards however the North Kansas city store is solely responsible for us finally closing our account. Over the last two years this store has shorted us on EVERY order they were responsible for delivering. In EVERY case we would be missing materials and their delivery department would refuse to deliver the rest of the material so an employee would end up coming off the clock AFTER formal complaints to BBB were filed or we would have to pick it up to avoid the fight. We aren't talking about small stuff either we are talking $500 to over $1000 worth of product of high value orders they charged us $100 or more to deliver and didn’t deliver in full. When its every time its pretty obvious theres serious mismanagement or employee theft (maybe thinking we wouldn't notice?) going on since the material was there when we called. We originally thought it was an employee issue but started to realize something else is going on when the last order a supervisor gave a kid a death store when he said he remembered our order and stuff WAS missing when the supervisor was trying to deny it. They shorted us a second time a $50 box of landscape material and told us it was being sent to store via fedex snd we could pickup the next day. They then never ordered it so a week later tried to deny they didn't deliver it. At this point the owner & management of this location is fully aware of whats going on and are supportive of shorting customers or complacent. I strongly suggest you take your business elsewhere or if you take your chances being very careful to check any order you pay this store to deliver.

Amy Maloney: Love Menards and we have been in quite a bit lately due to some remodeling. However, if everytime someone attempts to look at pocket knifes your security guard feels the need to rush out and awkwardly stand there maybe you should put them in a case or not sell them!? Is this happening to everyone? Maybe, we should just shop elsewhere!

Janet Moore: Unfortunately I have had such a bad experience the last 2 months with a lemon washing machine that I will not give anymore business to this company. A BRAND NEW machine hasn’t safely worked since the second day we had it. Very sad what customer service has become. I bought brand new with what I thought was a reliable brand & store. I was very wrong. Why would I want to repair (TWICE now) a brand new washer?? What is wrong….the one star is what Menards once was to me and my family.

Amethyst Halvorsen: Cali at the front was great! Helped this newbie feel comfortable driving back i to the gated area. The gentleman at the fill station had lots of good insights on our RV. Inspected the tank for us as well. Friendly and quick service.
Scott Newman: Waited for the lunch break to be over at 1 and nobody is here. It is now 1:20. Then saw sign to refill down the street and that place was a ghost town. Waste of my time. To both companies.

Robert Hazelwood: You can get your propane tanks refilled here instead of doing the Blue Rhino exchange and save some money. Could be better organized.

Talian Kretschmar: I have an older propane 20 lbs tank that I use in my camper that no one else in the KC area would fill. Ferrell Gas re-certified it and filled it, no problems! Cost for the cert was $5, which is a whole lot cheaper that buying a new tank, which was around $190.

Caezar L: There is a lady in painting that she took a peak at the sticker of paint that I was trying to reorder and she memorized the whole number and even while talking with another customer, she entered the numbers to get the paint I needed, at one point I thought this is impossible she will come back to look at it again but she didn't. I had to acknowledge that and let her know how good she is.

Wanted some for DYI project.▪︎They have nice selection of flowers around the doors upfront.▪︎Checked out a few plants in garden area. They were pretty pricey. I was looking at pots with multiple plants in them.▪︎Then was heading for the door to get out the front of store. A customer has to go all the way to self check area to get out. That is long way for a handicap person.▪︎They do have several handicap parking spots out from of the store, which is a nice change for alot if stores.

jim hughson: Went to Home Depot this morning to buy two sets of blinds. They didn't have my exact sizes when I encountered employee "Kevin". He was obviously busy but upon seeing me asked if I needed help. This young man exceeded my expectations of the usual careless employees I often encounter when shopping other stores. He cut my blinds to size and showed me how to install them to which I had no idea.The management needs to know "Kevin" is an excellent employee and is a step above most others. Extend my sincere "Thanks" to him and know that I will shop this store again.Customer JamesHughson Returned 2 days later and was assisted by store employee Daymon who assisted me in the same professional manner. This store asli has an excellent assistant manager who is genuinely friendly. I will return again

Lowe's Home Improvement: what do users think?
Od P: I am writing this for my mom, who doesn’t want to pursue any legal action unless she requires surgery. I am fuming because she is a first generation immigrant who has lived in America for decades, and the treatment she has received is NOT okay for any single person to have received. She is also on blood thinners and anytime she bleeds, it is SCARY and life threatening.Earlier today, she went to Lowe’s. She was near the floor trim aisle. There are TWO layers, so the photos I’m sending isn’t justice. She was not touching these floor trims, but even if she was, they should not be falling so easily on customers. She was shopping around, and the floor trim fell on her foot, and she screamed because it hurt so badly. A floor associate asked what was happening, my mom explained what happened and then asked to speak to a manager. The associate then left and for several minutes my mom waited for no one to come to her. She then asked another associate and they TOLD her to go to the front desk to speak to a manager when she is in pain. She then painfully went to the front desk and the manager REFUSED to write an accident report, and told her she shouldn’t wear sandals. No apology or anything. She is a customer…..there are no rules for customers that state you must wear closed toed shoes.I am frustrated because this is a corporate store and no claim is being filed. This is NOT okay and we will never be shopping here again. Please, go to Home Depot.

Nightlistic: The Kansas City Lowes Delivery Service are dishonest, lairs, and deceitful. I was to have a dyer delivered today only to be left a message claiming they showed up at my house when they didn't. I called and was told that the time frame they gave me which was 5-9pm was a mistake, and they can't deliver past 8pm. I waited all day for them to show up. Now they tell me I have to wait another 7 days for my delivery because they lied about coming to my house. The worst customer service I've experienced in forty years. My recommendation is go to another place to buy something that doesn't use lying deceitful delivery services. I have reported them to the BBB of Greater Kansas City, and KCTV5. I've also filed a formal complaint with Corp. Lowes. I don't expect any results but if it helps hold them accountable it was worth a try.
FatKat MOTO: Update. 5/31/23This Memorial Day sales I seen Home Depot has a propane 3 burner for $99. Then I seen academy sports different brand for $99. I thought, let's check out Lowe's because that's where I go!.. yet no sale. Disappointed. Iv been also wanting patio furniture and seen home Depot had a bench for $40. Lowe's has one for $140.. maybe I should start going to home Depot 😕____________I prefer Lowe's over Home Depot. Sure they don't have Milwaukee tools. But I'm not a fan boy. So that's ok.. Also easier to get a credit card here then Home Depot. 🤷
