Terri “Terri”: Hats off to Independence Animal Hospital!I have a 14 year old mix breed that's been unwell since Saturday night/Sunday morning, with vomiting, diarrhea and then bloody diarrhea. No appetite, very lethargic. After he kept throwing up the 'bland' diet of rice and chopped chicken I had given him, I was desperate to get him feeling better and fast.I had to miss a day of work to hopefully get him seen by someone, all the while calling different vets offices, who all inevitably, had no openings that day. My regular vet was booked so that was a no go. I called Independence Animal Hospital on the suggestion of my husband, to hopefully get an appointment that same day. Get this... THEY ACCEPT WALK-INS UNTIL 3:00 PM!!!! Bingo!!!I took my boy there ASAPabout 1030AM. The lot was full BUT in less than 45 minutes, Dr Scott had him checked out and headed home. He got my boy in so fast, gave him three shots and pills to take home! I was/am so very ecstatic!!!!The prices were very reasonable for what they did. The staff, and there were a lot of them, were very helpful, friendly and on the ball.The clinic is not fancy with lots of the bells and whistles that many have, but it is clean with a very large waiting room which is really nice if you want to sit away from others. The location is perfect!!Extremely pleased!!I HAVE FOUND MY NEW VETERINARY OFFICE AND DR!!THANK YOU IAH!!!

Kathy Cockrum: Doctor Becker is great. The front desk employees not so much.I have never been able to call this office without being on hold for a minimum of nine minutes and thirty seven seconds.My latest hold was 14 minutes and 12 seconds.All I wanted to do was cancel an appointment.Hire more employees to minimize the call wait time.The employee who trimmed my shepsrds nails made him bleed.No he isn't difficult to cut his nails.I'm trying a new vet in Holt MO that comes highly recommended

Rhonda Williams: I love Dr. Wingert. He has taken care of all my boxers for at least 20+ years. But lately it’s very confusing as to how your dog can be seen. I called ahead and was told appointments aren’t necessary because they’re taking walk-ins up to 3:00. But when you drive into the small parking lot every space is taken with signs they put up during COVID . Call this number or text and we’ll text you when you can be seen. WHICH IS IT??? And talk about a cluster getting out of that lot! The exit/entrance drive out to Walnut was blocked off! So one way in and one way out. But so many of us kept pulling in to the lot one right after another and soon it was all jammed up so everyone had to back out into Noland Road!!! So after all that, no my dog wasn’t seen because of no parking 🙄 With the amount of business they’ve done over the years, you think they could find a bigger and more convenient place. I live in Lees Summit and will be coming back for emergencies only! Otherwise, it’s not worth the headache, drive, and gas when I have a vet that practices right behind me for vaccinations. You’re my hero Dr. Wingert, but it’s a cluster and too stressful trying to get in there!
harper clause: We had to put down our dog and instead of getting it over with and not having to watch him suffer more, we had to wait for 30 minutes and deal with rude people in the animal hospital. I rather would’ve been able to have nice people help us and not have to second think the decision we made for our dog.

Kiley Waller: I really liked this vet but me and my dog were attacked by a stray dog last night. I called the minute they opened to get Luna’s wounds checked and she immediately said “we’re booked” didn’t even try to help us get seen. Said she has an opening in 3 days. I assumed my vet of years would at least try to see me.
Stephanie Baillie: Had an emergency appt for us when my normal vet turned me away. Very caring, prompt, and thorough. Great explanations of procedures. A lil more expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Chey Girl: Slightly expensive for some dental work but they do a amazing job . And give amazing home care instructions. I use Hidden Valley only and everytime they treat my animals so well. The staff is amazing I definitely recommend!

They now charge by weight instead of taking the breed into consideration. Any dog 11-19 lbs is $50. I have a miniature dachshund that got a bath and what they call a "tidy cut" and they charged $50. RIDICULOUS!!!

Sam Kach: Was referred to Hidden Valley by my vet that they did mon/tues walk-ins when I couldn’t get to my regular clinic. Staff was super friendly towards both pets and customers. Despite being a walk-in I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time. I highly recommend them as a clinic to go to for urgent non-emergency care and I will be going back if the need arises in the future.

lora steiner: Wonderful staff, caring vets who listen to your concerns and give any concerns they may have, very tender and soooooooo wonderful when you lose a pet. They understand your grief. Vet techs go thru soooooooo much we don't see and yet, laugh it off as part of the job. Recommended to me by my neighbors who've lived here over sixty years as the best bet clinic they went to. You could not ask for better people anywhere to take care of your fur baby.

taylor peebles: I brought my dog in for an emergency appointment after he had a full body allergic reaction to something in our yard, they got me in same day and didn’t charge me an extra fee like most emergency visits with other vets. The vet promptly got my little guy relief with a shot and sent us home with steroids that have continued to work great for him.

Chreshae Hairlson: Nice when they are able to get you in the drs are amazing but reception staff isn't the best they will mess up scheduling and then don't accommodate for the mixups. If it's an emergency better off going to an hospital. Messed up scheduling twice but was patient because the doctors here are truly phenomenal. Might return when they get better receptionist
Ari: Edit 2: In response to the business response. This absolutely happened at your clinic a few years ago. And if you can't "find records" that's a flimsy excuse seeing as you don't have the patients names. I'm guessing your trying to get my honest review removed by claiming I didn't use your services.Edit: Things are not as great as they once were. After being told by the vet that my 2 kittens were "too young" and it was the "wrong season to get pregnant", I agreed to wait 1 month for the next available spay appointment. 1 month later, I received a call from the operating room that both kittens were pregnant! 11 kittens later, 1 mama kitten developed a severe infection leaving her with an actual hole in belly, they refused to see her for an emergency visit. $1000 to the emergency vet later, Farview did an ER follow up visit and sent her home with dead tissue around the huge hole in her belly. I went to another vet who cleaned her up and sent us home with supplies to care for her. I lost all trust and respect for this office.---Nice honest vets with fair prices. They don't upsell you on unnecessary tests and services. They usually have emergency appointments available for no extra charge.

The doctor and her assistant gave us all of the answers to our questions and gave us time to spend with our baby. They understood how hard it was for us and they treated her with dignity. The assistant even placed her favorite toy in her arms before we left. and that made it so much easier to leave. Today we got her paw prints in the mail and the card was so sweet. I cried when I saw them but, I felt like a little bit of her came home to me. Thank you with all of my heart.Update: We have been taking our dog Levi here to get nails trimmed and other vet needs and I am impressed with the last girls who did his nails, he was calm, they were kind to him and quick and he even got tummy rubs. Several hours late they returned my call and I quote " We can't get to him today for final act of kindness , our 1 & only Vet has busy day but we can put you on standby for later this week" we have taken our furry kids to Fairview for over 20 yrs! He's crying can't walk can't release his bladder CRYING OUT TO US ! HELP ME ! All the female vet had to do was open their back clinic door , administer injection , go back inside . The Org Owners WOULD NEVER treated any k9s , especially long term clients , like this ! They can't keep any Vets longer than a month or 2 . The office staff are I'll trained , they are NOT VET TECHS , just kids off the street ! We have huge money in time training for our baby's , Working k9s ! Reg Public Safety k9s .FARVIEW VET GETS AN " F " .,...Lost our business FOREVER ! THEY ARE A ON THE DO NOT USE LIST !

The doctor and medical staff really care about your pet and do their best to de-stress them. They listen to you and help find solutions for your pet whether it's for anxiety or guiding me to use the internet to find ways to train Chaser to be a more obedient dog. They try to look for alternatives to help you and your pet instead of getting you to buy expensive medicine that may or may not work. I love everything about JCAH! ❤

Huge shout out to Amber, she was the first person to see my cat Momo when he was a baby, a year later, she still remembers him! They fixed an umbilical They fixed an umbilical Hernia and fixed my cat early to make sure that they would get that taken care of on time, Any other vet was quoting over $600. Dr. Pedro was so kind and recommending multiple ways of treatment, for my cat, breaking down by most recommended to least recommended, and it made it so much easier in a stressful situation. I highly recommend this that to anybody!

They even took the time to send a sympathy card to our family via us mail. Words cannot express what that simple gesture meant to my family. ❤️

Liz Geier: When my cat, little Opie, started going downhill within just a few days, I tried to get an appointment with our regular vet, but they were too busy to see him. When I called “Old Town Veterinary Clinic,” they were able to see him within a few hours. I was so relieved, and Dr. Snyder and the whole staff were friendly, attentive, and very compassionate. Dr Snyder gave Opie a thorough physical examine, and then did labs to check his kidney function, as she thought that may be the issue, and she was right. Opie’s kidneys were failing. They gave me options to decide what to do next. Opie was 18yrs old, and I could tell he was ready to cross the rainbow bridge. Dr Snyder and staff treated Opie with compassion and respect as they made him comfortable with a soft blanket to lay on as the Dr proceeded with the euthanasia procedure. They allowed me as much time as I needed to say good-bye to my little companion.I highly recommend Old Town and Dr Snyder and staff, and if I ever get another pet, I will definitely return. Thank you all so much for being there for us in this difficult time.

I’m so glad I was referred here. Staff was very knowledgeable and knew how to handle my reactive dog. They took their time and made him and I feel as comfortable as possible during the entire process. We will definitely be returning with all of our animals to this facility!

Pricing has been very fair. I always feel that they are truly interested in caring for animals and their families.I also appreciate how welcoming and flexible Old Town Vet has been. They allow my children to escort their dogs and take the time to educate them. They also give the dogs treats and pats. It is clear that both dogs and kids are comfortable going to the vet, and that makes a huge difference!Old Town is a good name for this establishment. If you want to feel that you are bringing your pet to a small, caring community, this is the place to come.

Judy McDaniel: My daughter took her dog that she adopted from wayside waifs in grandview Missouri seven years ago to this clinic to be peacefully euthanized after killing two small dogs. This clinic told her she had not done all she could and that he probably thought the two small dogs were toys. They told her to give him a chance. My daughter has had him for 7 years and does not make this decision lightly. She has had him in therapy and in training. She loves him and this devastates her. She should never have been treated like this and frankly I’m very disappointed. This clinic should re-evaluate their practice and truly look at individual owners and respond appropriately.
Julie Kincheloe: Ive had a rescue dog for 7 years. I love him dearly. He’s easily triggered and has attacked 2 dogs in the past but nothing that was life threatening. Last night he killed my neighbors 2 small dogs. I’ve taken precautions over the years not knowing what to expect from him. He’s never harmed a person but has had other behaviors that concern me. I’ve tried behavior therapy and tried to keep him safe. I own 2 cats and another dog and he’s never harmed them. I have a 6 foot privacy fence. He dug through the fence and tore pieces away to get to these two dogs yesterday. After this terrible tragedy and very difficult conversations with my adult children we decided that peaceful euthanasia was our choice. It was a heartbreaking decision. We arrived at the clinic this morning and after sitting in a small room on the floor (2 chairs and 5 of us present) we were told they would not euthanize out of convenience. They wrote “?attacked and killed 2 dogs” on my paperwork and said I would need to prove the attacks took place. I understand the need to protect animals but the way my family and I were treated was inexcusable. We were all visibly distraught and my poor Riggie was panicked from being in a cold room for 45 mins wondering what the hell was happening. I never dreamed I would be treated this way after a very traumatic 24 hours. Help and comfort was needed not harsh accusations. The person who came into the room said “sometimes big dogs think little dogs are toys”…. This is not acceptable and she should feel ashamed. I would suspect any small dog owner would agree to this type of comment ever.
Hi it me: Vet basically told us we never helped our rescue dog. When we adopted him he had been abused terribly and was violent towards other dogs. We gave him 7 good years of not being in a pound and living a good happy life. He got out of our fence and killed 2 dogs recently. Prior to this he had attacked other dogs but never killed them. We have put him through behavior training and have tried to rehome him after prior attacks. After he killed 2 dogs my family sat down and through a lot of discussion we begrudgingly collectively agreed that putting him down would be the best for our sake and our neighbors sake. When we came up to this terrible clinic our hearts were breaking for him, but when we told the Vet what had happened and the prior events that happened she responded with "We never gave him a chance." We gave him 7 years of not being stuck in an adoption center and not being in a pound. This was already a hard enough decision to make and this place only seemed to worsen it. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone due to their terrible communication skills.

Roger: This is why I believe The Animal Clinic of Susquehanna is a trash company and why I won't EVER say a good thing about or spend a dollar here.They are located 2 miles from my home. Farview is normally the family vet clinic, but they haven't been working on Saturdays.So, I called this company that unsuccessfully treated a rescue cat when I was 13 (I got cat scratch fever shortly after their assessment) to ask for help euthanizing my 16 year old Chihuahua. She had a huge tumor on her mouth and it was time to help her pass...A woman, who couldn't sound more put out, told me, "uhhh, we're all booked up today and we're not taking new clients".I was infuriated, but I was more invested in finding someone to help us. With some help, I found and contacted a company called HOME WITH DIGNITY.A vet drove from Kansas and was at our home at 10:45 a.m. He was so warm and so professional. And, after 16 years, we needed that compassion as we said goodbye to our beloved little Ruby.This vet traveled quickly to be in our home and give our baby the best chance at a peaceful death. I will never forget that. That's the way to do busines, in my opinion.So, because the vet in my community was not willing to help a suffering dog, she took any money that could have been hers and forfeited it to the state of Kansas and she earned Susquehanna Vet a one star review from a person that will never ask for help again.If you're in the business of caring, then care enough to help the public around you. Thanks for nothing.
Meda Holloway: I accompanied my 70 yo mother to this clinic today for the first time and was shocked by the poor customer service. Her cat has been ill so I was with her today when she called them to make an appointment. She made the call on speaker phone so I heard the interaction. They told her specifically to come in at 2:45pm. We did arrive 15 minutes early. She called to let them know she was there. The receptionist started scolding her. Saying “No, no no, I told you 3:00” her tone was very frustrated and it bothered me to hear her interact with my mother this way, a customer they have had for many years. I let this go but then was even more astounded by the behavior of the veterinarian. As soon as she entered the room she didn’t even address my mom with hello or any kind of greeting. There was no bedside manner at all. She didn’t say anything even close to (Hey sorry your cat is still ill. Tell me what’s going on?) She just looked at her clip board and basically said she wasn’t sure why we brought the cat in since they can’t manage it over the weekend. She seemed exasperated.I felt like all of the staff were so dismissive of my mom and her concern for her cat.I’m not even upset that they couldn’t care for her cat’s illness over the weekend . The lack of customer service or empathy is really what stood out to me.Mom is such a loyal customer and will just accept bad treatment. It was so hurtful to me to see her treated like that.
