Thrift World: what do users think?
Tracy Johnson: I always love roaming around Thrift World. So many treasures, so little money lol.
Brandi Horton: Great prices 😄
H3ll0k!tty collective: Everything was great! The clothes were quite clean from what I could see along with the shelves and clothing racks. The customer service was quick, very nice and respectful, and done well. The clothing options there varied from all shapes, sizes, colors and more. Overall, a very good place to go when you’re looking for a quick thrift.😊
John Smith: This place was good about 3 years ago. Now they think they are a retail store selling brand new items and they charge accordingly. Why pay almost retail and have no warranty or returns on used items?
Debbie G: The prices here are pretty average for current thrift store prices. But the staff is outstanding, so I find myself shopping here frequently again after a long hiatus from the store. It's amazing what a great cashier can do for a place! The sales are good, so it's always possible to find a treasure at a bargain. I'll definitely be back again soon.
Staci: I whole heartedly support this stores mission. I can not however support what has to be some of the rudest, ignorant & unprofessional staff I've encountered in a mission driven store.I walked up to the counter and the man is almost yelling how nice it was not having go backs, but now there was and how rude ECT....Over and over as I'm standing there. Finally he directs it to me "are those what you didnt want."I said "no" and he proceeds to ask me 3 more times. YES, I'M SURE I DIDNT LEAVE A BUNCH OF CLOTHES ON THE COUNTER. Are you that ignorant? Management no where in site of course. Truly sad.
Jessica Pace: Decent prices
FatKat MOTO: Good selection. Prices is a bit high. Some things is cheap.
Kim Sutton: Loved it ! Huge selection and great prices.
wanda sims: Was reasonable and clean
Ken Freeman: Dirty store
michael hamer: Some prices are too high, it's supposed to be a thrift store where you find things cheap.
Maxwell Krem: Nice shopping experience here. I found the staff to be friendly and efficient. The aisles are fairly wide. Prices are low, and selection seems reasonably broad. I thought the selection of used CDs and records was excellent: good value for the money. On the other hand (and I am sure this is out of the management’s control), the clientele seem to want to bare it all. That was the major downside of shopping there.
Anthony Preston: Hate to admit I come here every other day... but I do. With that is sad to say that it's starting to price itself out of the market....100 dollars for this coca cola phone. 29 dollars on ebay. This is is not complete and is in our condition. Sad. Also they are selling things for twice the price of new in this bundle bag... 8 for a dollar 6 total. They want 3 bucks. Crazy.
Jodi Harris: I have donated my clothes and other house hold items here for over 10 years. I was checking out last night at 9pm ( closing time) they rung up 2 items and i ran back to grab a pair if pajama pants for my daughters pj day at school...when i got back to the register they put my clothes back and told ne to leave the store . It was 9:02 pm and they said they are now closed as im leaving... A gentleman with a cart FUL to the top comes around the corner and she proceeds to check him out? I felt like that was very rude ... And nothing like this has ever happened to me . My mother and I were shocked as we have gave so so much to this store. (Seen a pair of my jeans they had marked for 20 bucks last night even) I give this store a 0. Rude high priced self righteous people!
Shawnna Cox: Huge place, great prices, friendly staff!
Andrea Buchan-Hill: Hands down my favorite thrift store. It's organized and relatively tidy, they have a great selection as well as rotation, and while there are things prices higher than I'd like sometimes, overall the pricers seem to still realize they are USED items (unlike savers who often charges almost as much as new). Very rarely do I go in looking for something for my triplets and leave empty-handed.
Diane Faelber: Overpriced on too many items.
Ava Fine: I love this thrift store. The prices are reasonable and it has a great selection. The good stuff does go pretty quick here, but that's just because it's decently busy. It's by far my favorite thrift store in Independence. I wish it was easier to get access to a dressing room, especially when it's busy, but I completely understand.Only docking a star because I knew someone who worked here and thrift world (at the time at least) expected a lot from their employees. Also, I guess the only sink for the people sorting through the clothes was the bathroom sink, which is super gross and sucks for the employees.
Ben Pruett: Amazing!
Felicia Mclean: Yes it's a good store but before they put a lock on the trash in the back people used to be able to access all the things that was thrown away and let me tell you many brand new things that are donated are just thrown in the trash I mean you could start a whole new thrift store with all the tremendous things that they throw away from people that donate and I feel like people should donate elsewhere or at least if they're going to throw the stuff out they could give it to another thrift store.

Red Racks DAV Thrift Store: what do users think?
Michael Cahill: Insanely expensive. Apparently they forgot what a thrift store was supposed to be. So much for helping the community, nothing but greed. Looked at one item and walked out. Wii super smash bros brawl in front case. Listed at $55.95 in store, on eBay $16.95+ free shipping. It’s summertime. Go to a garage sales and get a fair price for your used purchases.
Frank Dolci: Awesome staff. Very helpful and informative
Ashlea Mendelson: Use to be a great place to find some great deals, not anymore. They are way over priced and I mean way over priced!! Not only this store but all the Red Racks, pretty sad considering they are used clothes. Greed is never a good thing!
Ashley Martin: Outrageous prices throughout the whole store
Steve Hulrey: I'm 70 years old and asked to use the restroom before continuing my shopping. I was told both bathrooms were closed for maintenance. I went out to my car and drove to Quick Trip to use the restroom. Do you think I'll EVER go to shop at any other Red Racks Store???
Tracy Shoate: I hate the Independence stores new location and I won't be going back. It's to small and I feel like I'm shopping in an elevator. The prices are ridiculous as well.
LaWanda Lamar: Way over priced for a thrift store.
Derbo Caicedo: If I could give this thrift store a lower rating than one star.....it deserves just that.....I walked in to the store Mgr with no name tag blocking the main entrance to the business. She was speaking to an older woman when I asked her if she worked here....the store Mgr was walking away from me to talk to another woman & told me to hold on a moment. She never spoke to me again for the duration of my visit while I bumped into her on my way out...! I'm a disable vet total & permanate & that is the last time I go in this store.I will not recommend coming here unless you don't mind being ignored by the person in charge. I had one question that I asked another employee that was happy to show me where to look....😡😠🤬
David Lambkin (mirrored eyes): Books and DVDs were over priced. Didn’t look at anything else staff was on edge and I unwilling to offer assistance. Uncomfortable environment.
Robin Reece: Closed...building gone
Cindy Hernandez: My Husband & I were here looking for good deals because you know it's a Thrift store...we found a pair of men's Nike shoes without shoe laces & were stained for the price of $39.99!!! The funny thing is that we found the same pair of Nikes Brand New at Marshall's for the SAME price. We are never coming back to this place again.
Steven Hitch: Love finding great things to buy especially cheap kids clothes 😂
Jay Mexico8: Got exactly what I wanted and then some including this vintage hand-carved painted beautiful art piece.
Elizabeth: I went here for the first time today I won't be going back the store smells so bad of body oder and the people are rude and the prices are way to high for a thrift store
Jessica Lero: Good prices, items weren't very organized so it was a bit hard to search through things
amyzzz 89: Lots of Christmas & Chiefs stuff! Not too crowded on Friday night.
Sandy Rosenthal: Since they moved locations to a new store their prices have gone up so much, when I can buy something online cheaper than they want cuz they'rethere it's ridiculous
Rob Bevins: Good selections good prices
Barb Schaefer: The new location is well organized. The pricing, however it outrageous for a "thrift" store! Some of the prices were the same if not more than you could buy the product new!
J Barbados: Great for odds and ends
Amy T: Most prices are so high, you might as well buy new! Why price stuff so hi when its used and you have so much stuff!

Deals Thrift Mart: what do users think?
Jeff Simmons: Great for a good laugh - just look at some of the prices. Definition of a “Grift” store. Pricing items crazy high so they sit on the shelf for months until they become destroyed and unrecognizable. Some prices :Worn out shoes - $20+Electronics (untested) - $30+Basic Kids Toys - $10+
Jessica: Great deals and prices!! I’d go here over goodwill any day
Alyssa Rose: Clothes were 50% off today so that was a bonus. Had lots of cute Halloween costumes for kiddos.
Esme Abarca: Very overpriced for a thrift store and very unorganized stuff everywhere otherwise there is Kind staff. I wouldn’t suggest a friend to go.
Rule 64: What a fun experience! You can get good and lost here. We will most certainly return. The store has a nice layout. The items are priced fairly. We definitely found more than a few gems from our trip. The employees seem very happy to be here. Keep up the good work 👏
Brandon Ricks: I loved this place good for anybody looking for something cool
Amber Lindsey: Not very organized, and everything felt/smelt pretty dirty. It was a quick in and out trip for me, won’t be back.
Diver Dean: I started coming here about 2 years ago. The upkeep on the store and the prices got worse and worse. To the point I stopped coming altogether. About 4 months ago I was driving by and decided, what the heck and stopped in. The place still looked a bit rough, but was better. I spent about an hour browsing and ended getting a few things. I started popping in pretty regularly, and started noticing that each time the place looked better and better. I think they have a new manager that is turning the whole place around. I now stop in a few times per week. The prices are on point for a thrift store, and I always find a treasure or 10.
Scott Cohen: Lots of items and good prices but organization is a little rough.
Pixxy Haze: The store has plenty of treasures to search for. The prices are REAL thrift store prices not gouged prices like most of them are these days. The owners and employees are super friendly and nice. It's a little crowded but I don't mind.
Billy Joel (Bee): Ton of good finds of all kinds! New merch out daily. Donations excepted, but not picked up. No public bathroom in the whole strip. I think CDC still won't allow us to let u try on clothes. Store hours 10am-7pm
Becca Belmont: This store has a ton of things. The store is very big and they still have to much stuff for the size of the store. You can see carts and boxes full of stuff that needs to be out out but there is already stuff just stacked on top of other stuff that you may want to but but you will never find it. The prices were decent. I was surprised by how high a few things were. If I can but the same thing brand new for $5.00 I am not going to pay $6.50 for it in used condition at a thrift store. I have seen the owner go out of her way to be rude to people. I have seen her be very pushy. BUT I HAVE ALSO SEEN HER GO OUT IF HER WAY TO HELP PEOPLE AND ALSO OFFER ITEMS AT A LOWER PRICE WHEN SIMEONE MAY NOT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO PAY FOR WHAT THEY WANT. THE TEENAGE GIRL THAT WORKS THERE IS VERY PROFESSIONAL THO.
Cherish Odell: I was concerned about several things. 1) If there was ever a fire you’re toast. Every isle I went down I had to stop and move something out of my way to get through. Today 2/9/2020 A large tred mill was just laying on the floor blocking an isle along with a grill. 2) The amount of (broken/missing parts/trash vs quality used items is slim) this place really really really needs to get organized you can’t even get to the register there’s so much stuff blocking it.
Alayna Mazzeffe: Great experience!
Joe Mazzeffe: The deals were great and the service was even better
Brook Rychnovsky: wonderful people, great store!
Johnny Martino: Good prices wonderful helpful people and locally owned
Leanna Mazzeffe: great people! good deals
Tina Penn: Prices are more thrifty with the new ownership. The people are friendly. I will shop here more often.
Anthony Amador: Good deals
Ronald Kroeger: clean nice! reasonable

The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center: what do users think?
OSMAN: Tiene más variedad de productos y accesorios para damas
I'mCrazy Brumfield: It's a thrift store.
Neptis Reggae: I bought some shoe's didn't realize that the rubber is coming apart. NO REFUND ARE EXCHANGE POLICY. This is a bad policy. I will never shop at any salvation army are support them again.
Ashley Martin: They have all the clothes sorted by color not size makes it very difficult to find anything. Also used kids toys were very expensive. My son found power rangers one was $6 other was $8
Frank Caprefoli: Very friendly. Has what I needed. Inexpensive
Mike HARRIS: Average
Jose Luis Ayala: A good place to find nice value priced merchandise.
Jeff Simmons: Don’t waste your time. This place has turned into a “Grift Store”. Prices are bonkers so items sit on shelves for weeks. This means the thing that was in good condition a few weeks ago has been torn up and strewn about the store before it even makes the 50% off sale.Price examples 10/2022VCR / DVD players - $29.99Dirty Bedding - $8.99+Old Printers - $29.99Generic no brand clothes - $5.99+Shoes (the most bonkers) - $30+ for grass stained Adidas / Nikes / cowboy bootsWii - $69Small appliances - $49+Don’t even look at anything they deem “special” behind the counter. Almost never willing to drop price after collecting dust for weeks.Management thinks they are clever by googling products and finding the highest price - not what they are actually worth/selling for.Don’t donate your stuff here unless you want it destroyed in store or priced out of reach of regular thrift store customers.
Prodbyaxis: Just like all the thrifts in Independence they get more and more greedy by the month... I used to walk out of this place with bags full when the prices were reasonable now I am almost at the point of not going again because everytime I actually do find something it's priced to high and I walk away empty handed. Gas is to expensive to keep wasting going to these overpriced "Thrift Stores" hoping things change...
Devan Bleyhl: Prices were ridiculously outrageous! I love donating to a good cause but not when I feel like the 'Salvation Army' store is trying to rob us! They want $10 for something you can find at the store for less than $5! There were a few items I had seen that still had original price tags on them but their price tag was about double the original price.. not cool guys.. smh..
Gwenda Bruhn: Prices are a little higher than they used to be.
Nathan Dell: My favorite thrift store in independence
Sheree Barker: Love this store ... Staff is very friendly, and the prices are great deals .... Store is all one level, and wheelchair friendly, but you do have to push the doors open yourself .... Public bathrooms for all is a plus, and this shows valued customer care
Jennifer Shapley: Have been there twice, friendly staff and quality clothing and accessories! Will go again when I get the chance!
Michele Welsh: Unfortunately I feel like the prices in this particular store are too high for the clientele. Not all people are thrifting because they just want to...some people need to.
Paul Kirkendall: A good place to buy recycle items on a fix budget good place to buy recycle clothes, shoes household items decor items, hanging pictures, records, tapes CDs, Blu-rays movies, DVD movies, VHS movies, Electronics, TVs, lamps, tools, small and large appliances, furniture, collectible items, and even bicycles anybody that shops there made get lucky and find a gem through all that stuff a diamond in the rough at the Salvation Army is a good place to to donate stuff that you do not use anymore that is still worthy of being used again call recycling and if you're on a fixed budget it's a good way to buy gently used stuff now I'm not saying everything there at salvation army is a bargain I'm not a big fan of buying furniture from them like couches and chairs or mattresses unless they're brand new but I do buy small appliances, lamps, electric fans, clothing, CDs, movies, records, and other miscellaneous items why not donate and help other less fortunate people that may not have a whole lot of money to spend enjoy the items that you donated and help keep it out of landfills that pollutes the Earth just a small bag of unwanted stuff that you use no more or don't want anymore can bring a smile to someone's face when they see the diamond and rough that they had bought the gem of a good buy.
Kimber Kim: I'm lost on how a place can receive USED FREE stuff and turn around and sell the stuff close to or ABOVE new retail price?Absolutely ridiculous! You people should be ashamed of yourselves.
Amanda Garber: Huge thrift store!! And very busy! Only thing I don’t like is that they have their clothes organized by color instead of size!! 🤔 but prices are good!! 👍🏼
Joey Shaw: Always a great selection of clothing and kitchen utensils. I've been all over Kansas City, you have to check out all the Salvation Army stores. If you're are 55 and older they have great discounts through out the week.
Brittany Schroeger: Friendly staff. Good selection.
Jack Phillips: This place is over cluttered, with many items priced way too high. There are good finds if you are willing to dig through the stuff.

Extremely kind and helpful and I hope they are blessed from head to toe for sharing their awesome store with the rest of us.Go check it out and make sure to take a friend I promise this is the best kept secret in town
Theresa Todd: The staff is friendly. Clothes and shoes are very reasonably priced. Everything else is priced pretty high. The place is packed, some spots you have to stop and turn around because you can't walk through. I like the place, but it's just overwhelming every time I've gone in there. There's too much stuff. Thin it out, display it properly! Not many people want to dig through all that stuff.

Allison Lester: This is a nice little thrift store with decent prices. However, the smell of dog doo doo makes it an unpleasant experience.

Angela Cain: I love this place they're always very friendly and the prices are very feasible also that work with you if it's something you really want they'll always bring work with you the enjoyable place to go
N B: I love this place! I can never leave without a couple of bags-full. The staff is so very nice and friendly. It's clean and cozy. Every day they have a sale, which makes those items very cheap. It's awesome! The only inconvenience (for the "I never carry cash" people) is they only accept cash or check. Also, I wish they were open more, but that's only because I like going in there so much.Oh, and they have a punch card that doesn't take long to fill, which gives you $5 off your next visit! A must-stop shop!
Raja Reed: Lovely thrift shop. Especially because the money goes to the Episcopal Church.

Lose Some Gain Some: what do users think?
blonde dude: Decided to stop here from reading all of the positive reviews. Glad it was open after the drive getting there. Can't give it the 5 stars others have unfortunately. It's very small and packed, very packed. Most I saw, was not worth the time. But again, depends on what a person is looking for.Did not receive any type of acknowledgement when walking in, even though you walk right past the person working. He was busy talking to a female customer who had no issues staring...gave a weird feeling for sure. So drive time to get here, 45+ minutes... time to look around....5 minutes. 😔
Sharon Ravellette: Awesome place and people
Jessica Leigh Allegedly: This is the absolute best thrift store in independence, hands-down. The story behind why it even exists, and what the owner is trying to accomplish with the proceeds, has brought me to tears… multiple times. I highly suggest if you have some free time and a few extra bucks to check it out.Not only is everything extremely reasonably priced (unlike red racks who tried to charge me $14 for a t shirt), but they have an amazing selection- I didn’t wanna leave, & I would have bought out the whole store if I could have afforded to do so. I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting any of the employees yet, but the owner is such a kind hearted guy. He is an absolute peach. He is extremely thoughtful, exceptionally reasonable when it comes to pricing, and most importantly, he is running the store for such a good cause… There isn’t enough words or space on this site to express how awesome the owner of the shop and the shop itself truly is. Please go check it out!
Kiley Hudson: I’m training in Independence for a job and wanted to check out thrift stores. I found Lose Some Gain Some on maps and decided to check it out. Unfortunately, the closing time on maps was incorrect and I arrived as soon as she was locking the door. The owner still let me come in and shop and within 5 minutes I had handfuls of great deals. She even took the time to secure my items in a box even though I kept her plenty pass the closing time. Very thankful for customer service like this and I will be returning lots to her thrift store!
Amanda Deoring: The owner is so sweet and nice and would do anything for anybody great prices should work with you on what you can afford and she's doing what she loves which makes a difference
Lauren Perez: Friendly staff and great prices!
michael niemeyer: Tucked away off Noland road, good place to find a few treasures :)
Maddy Easton: Tried to come to this location twice now. Once yesterday and right this second as I’m typing this review. I just wanted to check out the store but for some reason there’s always a note on the door stating the person would be back at a certain time. I guess they are not wanting customers? What’s the point on having a operating hours if the door is locked and no one can come in??? The stores name is a little bit off it’s just definitely be “ lose some” with out the gain. Nothing to gain from this store at all except for wasted time.
Rachel: Definitely the best prices around! The owner also mentioned a discount if you bring in donations. I found some really nice finds, and it's packed full with stuff. You do have to dig sometimes but the prices justify it. I'll be bringing my donations here from now on, I hope to see them grow more!
Mercedes Labrador: Cute little thrift shop! Lot's of neat finds and great prices/discounts. Owner was also very sweet and welcoming! Will definitely be back 💕
Handyman2TheRescue LLC: Check out Denesia's new store she has great stuff and awesome prices. Support local small businesses 😊 she also has a few new shelves I've installed 😁
Heather Ruffin: What a great find! After visiting family in Independence, I couldn’t pass up this cute thrift store on my way out! Prices are more than fair and I was able to find a designer bag set for $10!! $10!!!!! I found clothes and a Kate Spade AirPod case! I hope I am able to visit again soon and stop by my new favorite thrift shop in Missouri!

Frugal's Family Thrift Store: what do users think?
Jxssma: The best thrift store in Independence. Great prices from people genuinely trying to do good in the world. When I donate, I donate here.
Gwenda Bruhn: Great place to shop. Love Inez and everyone.
Annel Jones: My favorite thrift store!! They also help out children in the Philippines. Their new bigger store is now bigger and wonderful!! I love it
Kevin Bryla: Best thrift store around. Good prices. Friendly, helpful staff.
step5253: Always find great bargains. Staff friendly
Shelly Robards: Small but we'll kept and clean I will be going back
Andrea Moralez: 2nd part is not one word was said to the other man. So i left. Since when do we get to pass judgment n decide who we thinks have a service animal or who doesnt. Im disgusted and im definatley going to share my horrible experience with others n i WILL NOT EVER return to this judgmental place
Tina Murphy: The lady at the counter was very friendly and greeted everyone very nicely.
cheryl kerr: Nice clean store, alot of items, very friendly staff. Vintage pieces and some antiques. Prices reasonable and goes to a gois cause
Trese Booze: AWFUL experience!! I've never been so disrespected in donating. The lady was rude, went off, told us we were idiots, offended our donations, told us she had COVID and now we have it while screaming and our face. Refused to tell us her name. The poor associates that worked with her were terrified. I’m all the years of going here, I’ve never been so offended.
Stephen Roach: Went to donate a truck load of stuff (some of which is pictured) and the older lady said we don't want any of it. Apparently they are stocked up and don't need anymore gas powered edgers, 12" dual subwoofers in a box, rakes, shovels, 2 Makita cordless drills, a belt sander, and even a big spool of yellow chain worth about $100. There was even a massive amplifier that works (12" subwoofers also worked) that the lady didn't want. Two of the expensive weighted chairs looked a little run down but they just needed cleaning. I'm glad they can turn down good stuff that could be sold to help those in need. I'll take it down to goodwill where they at least know what good stuff looks like.
Debbie Bledsoe: Excellent store
Dave Spangle: This is wonderful place to shop. Friendly and the new building is a lot larger prices are pocket worthy.
MARY PEAL: Was in there 5 mins and found 2 items I couldn't live without!
Lisa ozburn: Seems to be really good pricing for a thrift store!!
Mary Catherine Music: Astounded by the merchandise variety, at this partially hidden, unprepossessing thrift store.....Touting the excellent charitable direction, toward Women/Orphans/Widows (WOW), this business has a small furniture area, glass wear, hand thrown pottery, dolls, etc. I almost always find incredible deals....Yesterday, I found an early 2000s torchiere floor lamp, in perfect condition.... Original price, for this tall bronze-like marvel, of ambiant lighting: 650.00...... My price: 65.00....!!! Not one chip in the large marbled globe....Good cause, nice clean shoppe, and a little afternoon hunting trip; lots of fun... Across the street from Olive Garden, on 40 hwy, right before the Noland Road intersection.... It is down the hill, in a demolition area, right next to a solitary Dollar General......... Take a look...!!!🤓
Natausha Plamondon: This is my all time favorite thrift store. I have been to many places in my day but this is by far the best! Amazing prices, HUGE selection in every department from clothes to furniture to home goods, clean store, lots of parking, friendly staff and clientele as well. If you want it, they have it. If you didn't even know you needed it they have that too! I tell everyone I know about my favorite little thrift store!
Paul Kirkendall: Great place low low low budget-friendly price.
T Borden: WOW thrift store is AWESOME. Clean, organized, good prices. All the things a thrift store should be. Shop there you will not be disappointed. UPDATE just visited their bigger shop, same locate. Just as clean and organized. Does not disappoint.
Norma bredemeier: Very nice and clean and reasonable but needs to have public restroom and dressing rooms
K.L. Taylor: I literally live 5 minutes from this store for 8 years and never visited until a month ago. Now I want to go every day! First, the prices are so reasonable. Clothes are $3 per item and I found a Christian Dior skirt in there. DIOR for $3! Second, they have some great pop-up deals if you follow them on Facebook. Right before they moved into their new location, they had an everything's $1 sale. Occasionally they'll have a fill your bag for $7 etc. but you need to follow them. Finally, the store was always clean and very organized. I can't wait to see what kind of gems I'll find when they re-open in their bigger location. Whether you live near or far, it will surely be worth the trip.
