Jaime McCarty: This place is so good. I wish we had gone long ago. I usually prefer sit down eating establishment, but finally gave in and went through the drive through. Food was 🔥! The portion sizes were really large, the service was great, and overall great experience. We had steak tacos with beans and rice (my favorite) , chicken flautas wit guacamole, and fries with cheese dip. All were fantastic. I highly recommend.

My cabeza street tacos were amazing and flavorful, juicy, great texture, and I liked the hot sauce that came with it. Also appreciative of the clamshell container that came with it that actually made it possible to eat in the car - sounds like a small thing but makes a big difference in containing the mess when eating on the go. Looking forward to trying the horchata and burritos in the future too. Happy to go every time I’m in Independence now!

Glenn A: First bite I could taste the salsa was bad. Like rotten, spoiled, contaminated bad. We asked for fresh and it came tasting just as foul. We didn't eat it, but ordered entrees anyway, I wish we hadn't. My wife and I were both sick, full-blown food poisoning, within an hour after eating. Disgusting. They should be shut down.

The food was hot, fresh, well-presented and delicious. The atmosphere was bright and colorful, the restaurant was clean. The only small negative I have is that the music was too loud, I believe it should have been lower so people could converse, maybe more like background music would have been better. This Mexican restaurant is one of our favorites.Kid-friendliness: My 2 year old grandson went with us, high chairs were available. His dad ordered him a soft chicken taco.Parking: There are lots of parking spaces near the restaurant front door.Wheelchair accessibility: There are handicap parking spaces available near the front door. The curb has a ramp. As someone who uses a cane I was able to easily get from the parking lot to the door without any obstacles.

The flavor was great, covered in half red sauce half cheese sauce. This meal came with rice and beans, I was really impressed with the beans! Lynn Stewart: We had a Bachelorette party here (ate in costume before going to the real party). The service for a large party was great. The musicians serenaded the Bride to be and even took pics with us. The staff handled our craziness very well, the manager came by and offered her blessing too. The other diners were smiling and laughing as we all came in too. Everyone was fantastic. Oh, the food was great. The view of the lake out the window added to the fun and was beautiful to see. Amanda May: Came in here Friday 6/2. Just a bad experience all around. The drink I ordered took around 20 minutes to be made and brought to my table and the restaurant was dead so it’s not like they were busy. Ordered some chips and an order of queso as an appetizer, well my mom and I’s entrees came out BEFORE we even received our chips and queso. The tortilla on my fish taco was ice cold. Never had such an awful experience here before and I’ve came to eat at this location more than a handful of times. The cherry on top of the sh*tty experience sundae? They have now charged my card three times for this transaction. :-) Definitely do NOT recommend coming here.

David Wildschuetz: This was not the On The Border I remember. We were seated at a tiny table in the bar area even though they were not busy at all, and there were plenty of bigger tables in the main area. The food was acceptable, but also not the way I remember. I may try again, but based on how few people were there on a Saturday evening, I fear they may be closed down in the near future.
Lory Wilcher: We visited tonight. Restaurant was not busy. People came in after us. We were set on bar side. Bartender only server. Others came in after us. He kept letting us know that he was only server on that side and t hey gave him 4 tables close together. He was overwhelmed. Other people working not helping out. Took long time to get drinks. Long time to order food and get it. Food was not good . Cool temperature they forgot things with one of our orders. When we asked for things they never were brought back. Just didnt taste good. We will not be back. Poor food Poor service.

Linda Krewson: Wanted to eat there but after standing at the hostess desk behind a couple that was already there unacknowledged for over 10 minutes, we left. That was a preview to the poor service we probably would have had. And there were so few tables in use that if nothing else a waitress should have stepped up to help out. Independence location is a train wreck.
