Dan-O The Mad Scientist: This is a beautiful park with a nice creek! We didn't see any trash last time we were there and this is a place your kids are sure to love!
Debra Gunter: Beautiful park with 2 separate play areas, one for the littles and one for the bigger kids. Very nice covered picnic areas and a nice creek. The bathrooms are clean.

jessica trowbridge: Great place for family gatherings, family senior or prom photos, or just a day at the park. You can walk in the woods, chill under the shelter house or play at the park, there's lots of adventures to be had. There's cool scenery like little creek, cool bridges and large rocks with a huge open area for whatever you can imagine. Even a nice wedding could be done here
Brian Zevecke: Definitely a favorite of mine to go exploring in the creek or just spending some time with nature. They have swings and playground equipment throughout the park. You can also rent the shelter houses if you have a large outdoor gathering with family.Picnic area: They definitely have plenty of area to do picnics in and lots of tables to enjoy!

Caroline Bishop: Two playgrounds and a creek! My kids were delighted. Plus neat rocks for climbing! Not too close to the street either.
Shawn Gibbs: Nice place to take your family. Just make sure if your going to have a family gathering or what ever you take your own cleaning supplies and toiletries. Your gonna need extention chords the plug inns are set up high off the ground. If your gonna be there at night bring 2 to 3 hangeable mosquito bug zappers other wise they'll eat you up. The creeks close by so go figure.

Darrell Bunger: Playground: Lots of kids laughing and having fun times, enjoyed itRestrooms: Your standard ol park restroom, about as clean as one could hope for.Dog-friendliness: Leashes required and poop pickup required but our furry friends are welcome if you're responsible enough to clean up after them and keep them leashed. Obviously if your pet has issues with children then don't chance it. There's always lots of kids playing and having fun.Picnic area: Chess tables, not a lot of room for it there but there's lots O grass area though. Also a fun sprinkler area for hot months, kids and adults alike enjoy it.

Linda Pulley: I took my dogs there and felt safe. People and kids were around. Plus, there is a fire station right at the park.

Myles Awaye: Back in the 1990's a body was found deep in the sand that the authorities determined was there since at least the early 1980's.Good Ole' Independence.
Jessica Richardson: I had a gender reveal party and the shelter was available. We were able to carry out the part without any distractions and we were not bothered. However the restrooms were locked and no restroom available. I understand why they may be closed but makes for a long party with no restroom and should have checked that first for the guests. They were able to use restrooms across the street but had to walk a bit.
Lisa Milligan: Great playground for toddlers, next to a beautiful playground for a bit older kids. Some of the slides in the older kid's playground ended too high off the ground.

Sam Kingsley: If you want a fun park for old and young kids alike, come to this park! It has an attached splash pad that my kids love during the summertime! It has a wide open surrounding area, which helps to keep kids safe, and makes it quite lovely in overall appearance. We picnic here often.They have horseshoe games here. I've seen people play, but have never joined them myself.
Miranda Martinez: My granddaughters all love this park! They beg me to take them every time they come over, reguardless of weather. Very clean, and populated most of the warmer months.

KNC2 “Carla”: Níce park. The grass was a little tall and a little trash but it was the end of the weekend.
Steven Berridge: It's always great to go to the skatepark..... I go there to take my little Schnauzer who is about 66 years old now... You just love to go see people and make them smile and take a walk in the park 🤣

Darrell Bunger: Pavilion was a bit dirty from the previous party that was there but hey you can't blame the park for dirty humans not cleaning up after themselves in a manner befitting a place to honor nature.Playground: Modern and cleanRestrooms: Locked due to seasonal restrictions, so I don't know.Dog-friendliness: Dogs welcome on leashes, there's no off leash provision here - do so at your own peril, and your dog's too since it's next to a very busy street.Picnic area: Could have been cleaner but that's not the park's fault, I blame that on the party before not doing their due diligence in cleaning up after themselves.

TOM: Very nice softball complex. Would be nice if they had some handicap parking closet to the fields

Aquatic Place: Nice clean park, just recently arrived from Washington state. I enjoyed the natural rock formation and landscape. While walking my dog I was able to explore with him, bonus being a pet friendly park.Restrooms were closed and most everything was locked or chained up being the off season.Would definitely come back and enjoy a meal on one of the many areas.

Mike Wolever: It was terrible vehicle got broken into all money and card stolen and to top it all off the umps were the worst I have ever seen in my 20 years of following softball. I would not recommend the heartland world series to any team.
Candessa Williams: Only losing a star for lack of parking and lack of shade on upper fields. But other than that- we LOVE this park. Good officials, plenty of shade on lower fields, nice sidewalks. Opening upper concessions would be REALLY helpful when staffing allows.
