Seeking Solace Yoga Studio: what do users think?
James Wiggins: I must say that, after two private yoga lessons with Colleen, my mind and fitness trajectories have both changed for the better. She’s incredibly in tune with each individual client and has literally changed my mindset and fitness goals for the better.I’d never tried yoga before, and I’m so glad that I gave it a chance and am lucky enough to have Colleen as my teacher. The studio is very relaxing and serene, and Colleen’s 100% committed to helping her students improve their lives. I feel blessed every day to have given yoga a chance and have Colleen as my teacher. What she delves into is a holistic understanding of each student and focuses on their specific path toward being the best for themselves and others.
Ladonna Sanders: Colleen is an excellent instructor! I have attended both in-person and by Zoom. The classes are a gentle mix of yoga and pilates, which is good for me as a 72 year old in reasonably good shape. Colleen is very thorough in instructing and uses lots of imagery ("imagine your spine is a string of pearls") which helps foster the learning to know one's body. In the studio she is very attentive to each student and watches to assist poses. The space is warm, clean, visually appealing, and orderly. The classes I attend are restorative, I would say, where some props are used. This is not the tpe of class where more time is spent arranging than actually engaging your body..She also instructs in how to modify a pose or movement and givers space to do that depending on your needs. What has been helpful for me personally is stretching of muscle groups, and the attention paid to moving hip and shoulder joints which are often problem areas for seniors. Yesterday's session involved legs and hips--"drawing circles on the ceiling", doing bridges, and more than I can't recall right now. We also take time to shake out muscles after movement. Within 12 hours I had some relief of pain, which says a lot about the benefits of this work.
Cynthia Okimoto: This place is a true gem. The class I took was exactly what I needed to open up my posture and be more mindful of tendencies when using everyday devices like the laptop and phone. Colleen dropped some real wisdom nuggets about fascia overtime. Highly recommend!
Hope Riley: This is the studio to be at if you’re looking to feel completely refreshed, energized, and to let go of anything holding you back. Colleen has the most healing energy and voice that will instantly calm you no matter the state you show up in. You can tell immediately that her immense empathy is already at work pinpointing your needs and shaping your experience to truly benefit you throughout your visit. She will never push you past your limits and will ensure you’re comfortable throughout. The studio is immaculate; it’s beautiful, serene, and spotless clean. It smells peaceful and amazing every time. This great location is easily accessible and there is always close parking available.Colleen offers tons of types of classes that fit any need!! Go see her and find out for yourself!
Donna Palatas: Colleen's extensive yoga training, enthusiasm, and genuine caring and compassion all contribute to an incredible yoga experience. She focuses on the needs of clients and is always thinking of how to include movements/poses tailored to a client's areas of concern. Colleen incorporates the knowledge she's gained throughout her years of training as a key element in her teaching, resulting in a comprehensive and invaluable yoga experience. I initially used a Groupon and Colleen was incredibly helpful throughout the Groupon redemption process.
Andrew McCarl: This place has really great energy, and Colleen is awesome.
Kana Kliethermes: I've been coming to this Yoga studio for years. The place is peaceful and quiet. Gentle Yoga is perfect for correcting my alignment. I love Restorative Yoga because you'd get pampered. Thai Massage is amazing too! Colleen and Chisa are both great teachers. They know how to help students with their physical issues. I always leave feeling so relaxed. :)
Cindy Easton: Colleen is a very nurturing person and cares deeply for all her clients. She is very flexible and is a joy to be around. She has extensive knowledge on yoga and the body, and her Thai massage is one of the best experiences you can do for yourself.
Joe Speicher: I have gone here for the Beamer and massage, and meditation. Love the place, love Colleen, a beautiful peaceful healing place.
Laveena Thawani: Colleen is admirable & amazing. Me and my daughter loves to attend her sessions. By joining private lessons we came to know her more personally, we like her ideas, her way of explaining things and her guidance. We are really thankful to her👍👍
Marty Johannes: I have been taking yoga classes for almost 30 years. This week, I attended the best yoga class I've ever experienced - the Restorative /Deep Stress Relief class led by Colleen Boveri. It was like a whole spa day condensed into 75 minutes! Colleen exudes wonderful, calming energy and has such a soothing voice. Colleen provides clear guidance and assistance on the poses and uses spot on imagery to guide the class members into a meditative state of mind and body. I arrived feeling harried and distracted, and left the session feeling calm and centered! I highly recommend this studio! I will be back. :-)
Kartik Singh: Seeking Solace is the best yoga studio I have found in Kansas City, or maybe anywhere, actually. The main instructor, Colleen, is also its owner and founder. She is remarkable, and her teaching has benefitted me tremendously. I am sleeping better and have more energy, strength, and flexibility. When I arrived, my yoga experience was quite basic. I had very little flexibility. She is a patient teacher, and she guided me and the other students through the challenges of certain postures. My practice improved greatly thanks to her. She is very observant, and also extremely intuitive. She offers modified poses for newbies like me, or advanced variations, for those who have a stronger practice. The practice has a spiritual side, too, and Colleen is an excellent guide here, also. While calling the poses by their Sanskrit names, she offers a focus on the breath, encouraging students to get out of their heads when they practice. Classes end on the chant of Om (peace), and in poses, sometimes mantras are given, such as “I am peace.” Another favorite of mine is the So Hum meditation. I love the spiritual side, and I feel that students who don’t get this are really missing something key.The setting at Seeking Solace is so wonderful, too, and the first thing you notice when entering the studio is what a special place it is. People have posted photos, but they don’t do justice to the place. It is at once grounding and energizing, clean and harmonious. You feel good when you enter, and it also feels like a sacred space, a safe haven away from the hustle and bustle of the world. The room offers a view of a peaceful rock garden where there are flowers, and when I was there, in the Fall, a couple of pumpkins.Colleen’s knowledge extends also to nutrition and anatomy. During class, as poses are being done, she offers information about the way the joints, muscles, and ligaments all come together. She also points out when doing certain poses can help in our daily lives, and can even help people to avoid surgeries later. In contrast, I had previously practiced at studios with rooms heated to 95 degrees, where it was all about how much you can sweat and how to show off your moves. Here, it’s quite the opposite. Seeking Solace is about finding lasting benefit, with a top-notch teacher, in a friendly group of yogis. I highly recommend Seeking Solace.
Julia Saykally: I love the classes at this Studio! Colleen and her instructors are fabulous!!
Gabby Hardesty: Colleen is the most welcoming, nurturing, caring yoga teacher i've ever come across. An all around great person and great teacher! Tons of experience and can work with all your needs whether its your flexibility or a torn muscle she will make sure your comfortable no matter what. Yoga at seeking solace is more than just yoga, its a relaxing sanctuary where you can unwind... her thai massages are a must! And my favorite is the restorative class, you leave feeling like a new person!
Elizabeth Uppman-Marquez: There's nobody like Colleen. She's genuine, funny, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to be around. Class is fun, challenging, and different every time. If you have an area you'd like to work on, just ask and Colleen will work it into the class. Can't say enough good about her!
Bonnie Murdock: I am new to yoga and am so glad that my first experience was with Seeking Solace Yoga Studio. The studio owner is an amazing teacher who knows how to educate and inspire her students about the benefits of yoga practice. I would definitely recommend the studio to anyone who is thinking about taking up yoga.
Lisa Veglahn: Seeking Solace studio is a welcoming environment. Colleen is incredibly knowledgeable and makes each class very personal and accessible.
Annie Alexander: I looked for a yoga studio that was welcoming & comfortable. Seeking Solace offers just that. I finally found the Restorative Yoga I had been searching for!! Best hour and a half of my week!!
Sarah Uchytil: Wonderful studio. Small classes with lots of individual attention. A secret oasis in Overland Park.
Susan Hartman: When I decided to give Yoga a try I knew I wanted small classes, individual attention and a caring and compassionate instructor. I found all of that and more in Colleen's class. One of the first things she said that really resonated with me is that everyone is different and poses can be modified to work with any body type. She encourages you to give all poses a try but never makes you feel inadequate if you can't get it. She really focuses on breathing techniques which helps in all areas of my life. The class is wonderful starting with the warm up stretches to the restful and meditative end. The atmosphere is lovely and serene. This is everything I was looking for and my only regret is that I didn't start sooner.
Shirley Marshall: Seeking Solace is a unique yoga experience. This is largely due to Colleen...a master teacher and star personality. You will immediately feel welcomed and at-ease. Colleen's expertise is phenomenal. She is extremely knowledgeable in the practical application of anatomy, physiology, energy healing...matters related to mind-body-spirit and shares this generously. She communicates with wisdom and humor. The studio is is indeed a special place of solace and rejuvenation.

Lisa Ash Yoga: what do users think?
Diane Clarkson: I was so happy to find this wonderful yoga studio! The instructors are not only wonderful and inspirational but they are truly among the kindest (and fun😊) yogis I’ve ever had. I look forward to my practice at the studio.. just the best!!
Melea Siebert: To say Lisa is kind and knowledgeable is an understatement!! I cannot say enough good things about her and her staff. Fantastic workshop. I’m not a yoga instructor but a practitioner, and the information covered in the workshop is truly applicable to anyone. Practical & easy to understand.
Emily Devers: What a treat to find Lisa Ash Yoga! The studio space is welcoming and sacred. I have tried many of the classes ranging from Restorative to Stretch and Strengthen and the teachers are knowledgeable and supportive. I love the small class size and personalized attention. Lisa also has an online subscription with access to specialized therapeutic classes. Lisa’s in person trainings are top notch…a great option for yoga teachers or yoga students wishing to dive deep into meditation, restorative yoga, yin, myofascial release and more!
Amber Defore: The Restore and Meditate Training was INCREDIBLE. Not only am I a more confident teacher of the practice after this training, but I feel equipped with the knowledge and tools to better handle the stress of my life as a mom, wife, employee, human, etc. I’m leaving feeling inspired, hopeful and ready to take on the world.
James Ash: Lisa developed a personal protocol for me to address chronic lower back issues. The relief was almost immediate and in less than a week I the pain was completely relieved. The routine takes less than 10 minutes and I can do it anywhere, even in my hotel room when traveling.
Kim Johnson: Renting Lisa Ash Yoga studio has been an easy & all around life enhancing for myself and my private yoga client who wanted to get back into a studio post pandemic. Emailing with Heather, the manager, for first time scheduling and responsibilities is quick and clear making it pretty seamless to rent the studio for my students practice time. We’ve continued to rent the studio for our twice a week practices and love it!
Katja Cahoon: This is a beautiful space - I did a group there and have also taken classes there. Lisa and Heather are a pleasure to work with!
Tayler: I rented this space for Authentic Relating events. This space was prefect!
tasjha dixon: This place is like “church”/“ashram”/“sangha”. This is where I go when I need to reconnect to my Divine Feminine energy. When I need to commune with my Higher Self. When I need “therapy”, yoga/meditation is The Therapist. And the “guides”/“teachers” at this studio are heaven-sent, in my opinion.
Kathy Damron: If you ever get a chance to take a yoga class with Lisa, do it! She is a lovely person whose warmth and knowledge make for an ideal teacher. She sets a welcoming tone for her classes, creating space for all students ❤️
Shelly Doucet: Heather is a gentle guide in a wonderfully restful and restorative yoga class. The studio provides a calm, elegant environment, complete with pillows, blankets, and blocks. (Bring your own mat or rent one there). Attending her class is a gift!
Aimee Patton: I take a meditation and stress relief class weekly. I suffer from chronic pain and I can't express how much this class helps control my pain and allows me a time to relax. I use the methods taught in the class throughout the week. It's truly a wonderful experience. I can't recommend it enough!
Shelby Exposito: Classes are a great balance of mental and physical. Each class has something new - a unique combination of moves or a stretch I've never seen - that ends up being deceptively challenging!
Shelli Baldwin: Lisa Ash Yoga has been a wonderful find! The workshops are well organized and very informative. I will definitely be back!
Julie Kircher: Fabulous classes and experience!
Susanne Watson: This is an absolutely delightful studio! The stretch and strengthen class is wonderful and Lisa and the whole community are very warm and welcoming. I'm so glad I found this studio and can't wait to return!
Candace Potter Wilson: Lisa is AMAZING - this fall, I've taken two 6-week pre-natal yoga sessions and have been so grateful for the experience. Lisa makes sure the classes target the challenge areas that expecting mamas and new mothers are facing (both physically and mentally) and creates such an inviting space. I HIGHLY recommend any of her yoga classes (have some other in-person and online classes with her over the years).
Larry Owens: Just what I was looking for! A Personal Yoga Therapeutic session with Lisa quickly identified my specific problem areas and has considerably improved my situation. This was much more effective for me than physical therapy and I give my highest recommendation.
Janice Friesen: I have Ataxia and have been walking unbalanced and struggling with it for a long time. Lisa worked with me and has taught me to do many thing that are really helping. She has an eye for which parts of your body are weak or moving the wrong way. She also seems to have a sense of what can be worked on and what maybe is just something to work around.
Brittany Goodman Craig: I'm so happy to have found Lisa and her yoga studio! It's been amazing to connect with other pregnant women and mamas, and Lisa has really helped me get through my pregnancy-related aches and pains. I look forward to her class every week!
Sara Fahring: Love it here.
