Temple Buddhist Center: what do users think?
Axel Littlepage: Really good place with great kind loving people
miss wonder: Such a wonderful place for all ages. They have programs for every life situation and support groups for all walks of life. I feel so welcomed here.
karen guilfoyle: The Sunday service is the best hour of my week. The meditation and teachings bring me back to myself and hep me get through the journey ahead. Great for those new to Buddhism and for those who have studied it for years. There is always a new way to think about things. Since I started contributing monthly I feel more a part of the community. Only complaint is sometimes volume is not set high enough for comfortable listening no matter how I adjust the volume on my laptop especially if a guest is a softalker. Namaste
Fábio Luiz nascimento: lindo
Robert Haggard: I love the vibe and atmosphere definitely worth going to, had someone bring me last week and I'll be attending every Sunday now.
Alan Brotherton: A very open and welcoming place for someone just interested in Buddhism or the more experienced practitioner. The only thing I didn't care for was they tend to get a little political in their announcements at the end of the service.
Julie Curtis: Very beautiful Temple, thank you for officiating our ceremony.
Rebecca Ashcraft: This is where I need to be every Sunday - with this sangha - to set my intention for the week.
John Corbaley: An open welcoming space to explore western Buddhism.
Sue Schmidt: Wow. A diverse place. Tons of services, and a relaxed non pushy atmosphere
Indira Grace Huerta: The services are gentle and sacred. They hold true to the teachings and are truly emptying and beautiful. Much has changed in the last several months, all for the best. The extra activities are also very well-done. 1/2 day meditation retreats, authors, parenting classes...all inspiring and helpful.
Joel Snyder: Hi there, I'm really glad that I went to the Temple Buddhist Center in Kansas City several weeks ago and I've decided that I'll go back to that Center. (I didn't take any photos when I was at the Temple Buddhist Center, but I'm going to take more in the future!) :)
Darrious Smith: Great place

Kristina Sedgwick: I had an amazing energy entering the building. Rachel and Isaac were amazing. Guided me and gave me a lot of knowledge. I even cried and had received nothing but support.
Austin Gerken: One of our favorite places to shop and the best place in the area! No bad vibes when you walk into this shop and everything is incredibly priced for the size of their products. They also offer yoga and meditation classes in the back studio which always seem very well lead and super relaxing. All around a 10/10 experience.
Emily Perkins: My first time coming was for the Mala Making workshop and it was amazing! Rachel is fantastic and puts her heart and soul into this shop.

It has a very relaxing environment yet so many things to choose from! They had incense, backflow cones, jewelry, crystals, books, tarot cards, yoga mats, yoga blocks, salt and crystal lamps, essential oils, and any accessories you would need to go with it. I took lots of pictures so hopefully it gives you a good idea if the item you're looking for is inside!

Rime Buddhist Center: what do users think?
Mark of the Sun: You know what I always say, "A tight fist can't hold water and neither can a loose hand".
Sharon Ronsse: Wonderful place with wonderful people
Britton Erskine: I love this space and these people. It is such a warm and welcoming environment. Even if you're just interested in learning a little bit about Buddhism they will make you feel welcome. I feel welcome on my journey of becoming a Buddhist.
Fanny Mandelberger: My dear sangha since I moved to Kansas City five years ago.
Eric Glock: I really like the new location; it's more intimate and nicely decorated with various Buddhist Deities. Lama Matthew has done a nice job with the place. However, the gift shop is an absolute nightmare! The first time I went there years ago, they waited two months to put my debit card transaction through which ultimately cost me more than $30 in overdraft fees. And last Saturday I went there and purchased three items at the given price. It turned out that I had been overcharged $10; then that the clerk hadn't given me all that I'd ordered--they had given me an incomplete order. When I went back, which I had to wait a week to do because they are only open 2 hours a week on Saturday, I tried to get the undelivered item at the agreed upon price, and they refused to give it to me at that price. This is a breach of the original purchase agreement, which is especially troubling coming from a religious organization. They furthermore offered no apology whatsoever for any of this.
Michael Lee: They're moving, but I always loved this little building!
Mary Uebersax: I am attending a live meditation weekly with visiting Tibetan Buddhist teacher, Geshse Thinley and benefit from the collaboration and unity of group meditation. Thank you to the Rime center for their hosting of this teacher and lengthening the teaching and understanding of this compassionate path. Sessions are in English to help audience understand.
JeanHelene Davis: So sorry they're moving but rent increases take a toll on everyone !
Bonnie Goodvin: Wonderful place to connect with kind and caring people.
Frass Azab: The most peaceful and truthful place in midtown kc
Ryan Gallagher: Buddhist center of mixed Buddhist traditions. As you enter you are greeted by an alter dedicated to Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th and current Dalai Lama, and as you look around the temple you will notice a beautiful collection of Thangka art just as you'd expect in any Buddhist monastery. The folks who run the center are very kind and knowledgeable.
daisly: a good place to meditate have many activities & classespeople multicultural and very calm environmentLama are very kindthe lamas of this temple are excellent
Travis Bickle: Went for a Wednesday meditation class and session and was impressed. They did not provide a "sell," and very friendly. Nice space in a old building in a part of town that is just outside of the more well traveled side of the highway. Nice quiet place to be mindful
Ruth Byers: Rime aims to be the most welcoming, all inclusive, spiritual community center in Kansas City. They succeeded. After more than 3 years of casual attendance, never joining as a member or claiming a religious affiliation, they still receive me with genuine warm no matter how long it’s been. And most importantly, they never ask me to officially join as a member or pressure me to donate or volunteer. They are truly the most welcoming spiritual community I have ever found.
Zeek Beauchene: Extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and an overall amazing place for those interested in a more traditional Buddhism.
Geoff Geist: Our favorite little hippy Buddhist temple. Namaste.
Dutch Vitri: Every one of us comes to the Rime Center for a very different and unique personal reason. However, something that we share is the sense of community. If you would like to find a place in which you feel that you belong, this is the place., the Rime Center is inclusive, warm, friendly and fun. However, the center will also give you the opportunity to learn the teachings of the Buddhist tradition and you will be able to either learn them for the very first time or, support your already established practice and help you submerge yourself unto your studies without limitations.Friends not familiar with Buddhist traditions some times ask me, is the Rime Center a Church? Is Buddhism a religion or a philosophy? My reply is that you would be very smart to approach Buddhism with an open mind, not thinking of it as a religion nor as a philosophy. And, to allow yourself some time before asking yourself for your own perception.Your reply could be that it doesn't matter what it is, because it helps your pursuit for happiness or, you might have a distinct reasoning as to why, to you, it means one or the other.Either way, I hope you stop by and I hope you sit for a while and if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask anyone there.Fondly:William
Bobby Weinman: I have awakened my Buddhist nature through the teachings I learned at the center. The classes are enlightening and the people are warm and inviting.

Kansas City Meditation Group of Self-Realization Fellowship: what do users think?
Heather B: Not what you might expect. Sometimes feels lifeless, low energy and cold but also a serene, silent space perfect for inner contemplation and meditation. Friendly people but not aggressively friendly so that's nice when you don't feel like being social. There's a little honor system book shop available before and after service and a reading library. Good overall spiritual focus. No preaching personal attitudes, only reading straight from sacred texts, verbatim. No subjective interpretations offered. This is a small environment.
Judy Douglass: A sanctuary in KC with loving vibration.
Nancy Blackman: Peaceful, friendly, and a great place to meditate and expand one's consciousness.
Connie Meis-Robertson: A place to meet God

Kundalini Yoga & Meditation: what do users think?
Don Matthews: I have only experienced three sessions but the results have been remarkable. I have gained body, mind and spiritual benefits including better sleep, more ease of movement and better awareness of others and situations. The instructors are competent, compassionate and caring. Check it out and make your own conclusions. The prices are affordable and there is no pressure to join. I am a Christian minister and scholar and find them respectful of others.
Nicholas Summervill: I had the pleasure of staying at the ashram this weekend. I can't say thank you enough to Sat Inder and Karta Purkh for a wonderful experience. Those two are full of joy, and they love to share it. I came as a stranger, new to yoga, and was welcomed as family. The sadhana and kriyas I learned from them will be a tool for wellbeing and enlightenment for me in my journey of sobriety. Special thanks to Ananda and Jeanette for some awesome and fun classes. Sat Nam! I can't wait to return to further deepen my spiritual life.
Weird Stuff Antiques: This is my kind of yoga.
CORA STEWART: Give yourself a chance and take a class, you will be back for sure!

Unity Temple on the Plaza: what do users think?
Shane “Nesha” Yeman: Unity temple has-by far-the softest toilet paper on the plaza, if not the entire Kansas City metro. I’m using it as I write this, and it’s just unbelievable how soft and sumptuous it feels against my skin. I dare say your life is incomplete until you have experienced just how soft and supportive their restroom tissue is, which also, mind you, happens to be a first rate restroom. Having experienced restrooms and lavatories all across this blessed country, I’m proud to call Unity temple my spiritual home, where even the toilet tissue has curative capacities.
Sean: Ought
Coleman Reed: I have only been to non-religious events here, but it is a great venue with intimate seating.
Jollycats Photography: Beautiful place. Excellent extra curricular services.
Lisa Bradley-Amendola: We had a Simple Ceremony with Ben — it was exactly what we expected “simple”. There are no worries whatsoever. Book your event using the online calendar, and you’ll receive a call with contact information. I prefer to communicate via text, and they were willing to accommodate. I received reminders and regular communication at times that made sense before our ceremony. Important things like “having a marriage license in the State of MO”. KS is so close by, some people don’t think about that and get their license in the wrong state. Our officiate, Ben, was organized, responsive, and helpful. The Temple is beautiful with plenty of places for family photos. We were able to take photos with a photographer before and after the ceremony. There is also very convenient parking. The free, covered parking garage is steps away from the temple — same side of the street — right next door. For the actual ceremony— you get to choose what type — religious or not, blessings before or after, rings or not. There is no need for a rehearsal because it’s truly “simple”: A few days beforehand, Ben confirmed we would have witnesses. In our case we we had the maximum 15-guests including ourselves. It’s meant for very small and intimate weddings. Our parents on both bride and groom sides are mid 70’s and didn’t want big risks associated with larger groups and covid. We had our small, safe family ceremony for the actual wedding with a big reception later that evening. I couldn’t be happier with Unity Temple and highly recommend.
Linda Hoskins Sutton: I attended Live At The Temple: Kansas City Concert Series on September 10, 2021. The Jazz Concert performances were amazing. I gave one star because I want to bring attention to the rude and unprofessional treatment by a man who is high up in management at Unity Temple. I know he was higher management because he was called to the stage to welcome the audience.I had purchased a reserved ticket and an usher seated me. However, this man from management said I needed to move over. He was trying to give my center aisle seat to his friend. The African American lady behind me who was in the first row of general admissions was told the same thing. She did not move. As an African American female, I felt like Rosa Parks, I did not move!! I paid $60 for a reserved seat!! This man saw the usher seat me!!
Scott Cohen: Great place for meetings
Anita Sifuentes: Very nice people
Rich Davidson: Nice place to hear concert
Greg Raney: Very holistic spirituality..
Jason Gale: I've been here for book signings, conventions and morning Meditation.I love the Unity Temple. It's a fantastic piece of KC history. They do a great job of keeping it clean and accessible. There is free parking right next door too.I would recommend coming here for the temple Buddhist centers meditation on Sundays. It's a great way to start the week
James Prim: Great place to heal
Stephanie Petersen: Beautiful and spacious. Greet for presentations and seminars.
Vanessa Ferguson: Went to another great event sponsored by Rainy Day Books. Ta-Nehisi Coates was excellent.
Oriana Lee: Unity is a really good AA/NA meeting. And I also love that you can meditate when you get done with the meeting.
Bruce Jefferson: Nice atmosphere
B Happy: Its , Non Denominational , they have from christian to Buddhist and everything else
Zeal Zillner: I absolutely love unity temple on the Plaza... they offer so many different classes and spiritual practices... they changed the artwork the first Wednesday of every month in the hallway... this place is the most awesome spiritual place I have ever experienced in my life and I am so grateful that I have Unity Temple in my life... the prayer chaplain program is phenomenal... I can't say enough about Unity temple on the Plaza explore it with an open mind and willingness... and your life will change.
Dr. David Knox: Came for a meeting and observed two weddings. A busy place on the weekend. They embrace Buddist.
Zeek Beauchene: Extremely friendly and offers a contemporary approach to Buddhism that will feel more welcoming to the Western world. Their Christian service is also very contemporary with heavy focus on compassion.
jo aulgur: I have tried lots of different churches. In lots of various states! Unity Temple has the kindest, caring and most welcoming people I've ever experienced. Truly wonderful! And Duke Tufty is an interesting, enlightening and very inspiring pastor! Try it, you will love it! ✋🏽
