We didn't hear anything in November so we stopped in. He said again a week or two. She called today(Dec 27th) he said he's been very busy and he will get them done today. He closes at 2. It's 4:15 now. No phone call. I've never written a review before. Very unprofessional. Stay away.

The young-er than me couple (and their beautiful doggie) running this operation is very kind, knowledgeable, professional and skilled at an almost lost hand craft. The gentleman puts extra holes on belts, resoles boots, glues soles, repairs purse straps and restores neglected leather coats. He does it all at affordable prices.

Nick Manan: BEST SHOE REPAIR IN KANSAS CITY. Service was super nice, came in with an urgent request on a pair of loafers that were completely beat up and they repaired them to look brand new. Even pointed out what a previous shoe repair shop did wrong and corrected it completely, and did it all on short notice with a fast turnaround. This place is the real deal. Will only go here and recommended here from now on.

After 4 separate trips to the shop to pick them up (each time he had said they would be ready and did not call to communicate otherwise, and when I arrived, he had excuse after excuse.) I finally have them back in my possession on 1/27. Seven weeks later!The owner of Overland Park Shoe Repair does not communicate:Every time I came to pick up the boots when he told me they would be ready, they were not in fact ready, and he had a different excuse as to why they weren’t. He never once called me to let me know there was going to be a delay. I asked him on two separate occasions to confirm he had my phone number correct and he did. Forget trying to call him, as this man seemingly does not answer his phone or return messages.The owner of Overland Park Shoe Repair does poor shoe repair work:When I finally got my boots back, the repair was clearly done sloppily or in a rush. The elastic was sewn on crooked, he SLICED through the leather at the seam (and of course did not acknowledge this) and there is glue everywhere (along the seam and speckled on the leather.)This shop has plenty of good reviews which is why I chose to come here, but if you sort by negative reviews you will see that nearly all of them are a similar story – takes way longer that he initially says and offers lots of excuses along the way. Maybe he is really good and quick at certain things, but for whatever reason he didn’t want to do this repair or didn’t feel comfortable doing it – I wish he has saved us both the time and trouble and just told me he could not fix them. This is the least of my worries at this point but also worth noting that the boots REEK of cigarette smoke now.

jvaugh19: I bought a new pair of boots and one of them was not right, the inner lining was not attached to the boot and it was making that boot very uncomfortable to wear. He fixed that, and then I brought it back because the insole still felt wrong and he took it out, inspected it and realized that it too was unlike the other insole, so he reshaped the insole and literally made the pair of boots wearable and comfortable again. I didn’t have to waste another $150 getting new boots and his fix was less than $20. Support local business, this man is a professional and he won’t let you down.
