Jeremy “Stimpy” Simpson: This place is a nice addition to the downtown Independence area. Has a unique selection of kitchen gadgets/accessories, wine, and dry goods for anyone's taste. Stop in if you need some charcuterie boards or cheese knives for you next get together. So if you're walking the square, stop in and have a wander.

Aubrey Anderson: What a fun store to visit when you're at the Independence Square. Believe it or not, the Gilbert Whitney store has been at this location for over 190 years. It is honestly pretty neat to think about it being a building block for the city of Independence. Definitely worth checking out this piece of history :)

That one makes a fine body spray only!Rose water for cooking can be used in recipes like candies, yogurts, etc and can be used in place of vanilla extract! Just make sure you get the safe digestable one from Gilbert's!!!

autumn: Every single time without fail the short haired cashier is always gossiping to whatever poor girl is bagging my items that day. I have seen her yapp away to a girl carrying a large box when she clearly needed help with it and mouth off when another woman was moving things on shelves. Last week she kept answering questions that I clearly asked the young lady who was directly in front of me!😡 I try to avoid shopping on days when she is behind a register because she is always trying to fit 50 things in one bag. without double bagging! I know it has been a while since I have been in retail but I still remember enough to know this is NOT professional. I bought GLASS mugs and the second I got in my car I had to rewrap them and put them in grocery bags I already had because the only protection she gave them was a thin piece of paper she slapped on it. You could hear the glasses hitting each other when she gave me the single thin bag. it is ridiculous and I have had it! one star. last time they will ever see my dollar.

They had no record of my order and I was told to call online customer service. Apparently even though my order was placed it didn’t get downloaded so the store could fulfill it. I had to wait on the phone for the customer service representative to place the order again. She could not apply the 10% discount nor my $5 reward. She gave me a case number and told me it would be 3-5 days before the refund would process back to my credit card. What a hassle. I could have shopped in the store in less time. I won’t be online ordering again.

Kenneth Smirl: You guys I have some wise advice for you all who go through this place to get any sort of furniture. Don’t ever go through this place to get furniture if you don’t wanna get ripped off out your own money that could possibly go towards a better place or find better use like paying bills because I am currently having to file a lawsuit against them and the financial place that they are through along with rent A center and by the way my grandmother at 80 years of age wound up with bedbugs because of them and had to get rid of a lot of stuff including stuff that her mother and father passed down to her and shortly after she experienced that with them she passed away from natural causes along with having curvature of the spine on top of that. Will literally lie to your face switching up story to story and they will also try to sweet talk you into buy anything from them even making payments on anything of theirs and than turn around and try to make you believe that they have better deals than any other place that has furniture and trust me it’s not worth any of their time after you guys read this review and hopefully you guys will take heed to I’m saying right now as I write this review as well because due to what they’re doing to me and my soon to be wife we are literally about to wind up homeless because of this place and what they’re currently doing to us behind our backs.

Cayce Palmer: I purchased a Chair and a half, and the matching ottoman 18 months ago. I also paid extra for the "goof proof" guardian plan that they claimed covered any kind of damage. The fabric on the ottomon started to pill a few months after we got the set, now the fabric is separating on the arm of the chair and some of the nail heads have fallen out. On top of that, the "certified foam" in the ottoman is caving in. I contacted Bobs, and their reply was "sorry, we only cover products for 12 months" and that the Guardian plan likely wont cover it because it is a manufacturing issue. So almost $1200 got us a chair and ottoman that need replaced less than two years later. I wouldn't spend a dime here unless you have the money to replace your furniture every two years.

MystycAssault UnholyEndings: I get that keep the feet off the beds, but you could've said it in a much nicer tone. Plus $6,000 for a bed? Is this made of the queen's skin? Cuz a bed that much needs to be at least worth that much.
John Birkett: Experience in the store and then ordering over the phone were perfectly fine. Although there’s no lights in the parking lot, so if you get there at night it doesn’t look very open from outside the mail.The product itself came in good condition and we’re happy with the instructions and the ease of assembly.All that being said, DO NOT CHOOSE DELIVERY. The store handles delivery extremely poorly - ours came 6+ hours outside our scheduled time, and communication that it would be late was nonexistent until already past time. They contract their delivery to someone else, and on our delivery day the driver didn’t show apparently, and instead had a friend deliver for us. Our order was north of $1000, so we didn’t get charged a delivery fee, but if we had been I would be asking for a refund of the fee in a heartbeat.Moral of the story, if you like the product, take it home yourself.

It sells Chinese particle board with a price point that makes dumb people look at something for 5 seconds and impulsivy decide its pretty... Basically what 75% of this country does now. I went in here possibly interested in working there as a sales rep, as I have done hobby level wood working since i was 12, and 90% of the items I went around and inspected were particle board. It's amazing that businesses can falsely advertisers like this, and nearly everyone buys it. This place should have a 1.8/5 star rating tops. And ya I know i have irrationally high expectations of the world. If they would name this place something that's not a slap in the face lie, I'd probly give it a 3 star rating

CEM Classic: I was walking past this store and was drawn in by the cut window decorations. This store is fill with lovely finds. The sales associate Marilyn Ware was great. She used to decorate for people so she shares a few good tips to help me with my new place. I will definitely be picking up some pieces from here.

Rainbow Savvy: Don't usually put in the effort to do negative reviews but this particular situation was pretty disappointing. We purchased a couch here in April 2022 with the warranty through Montage Furniture with it, which was offered to us when we mentioned we had cats. Sales associate said it would cover any and all pet damage up to 5 years. $149.99 extra for it. And for a $1300 couch that definitely seemed worth it. Some months later we ended up filing a claim with Montage which was denied and said they would not cover the damage, which is what we purchased the warranty for in the first place. I looked up Montage online and found an immense amount of bad reviews about them. But what made me feel we'd really been had was when I went on the Furniture deals website to find the couch we bought to make sure I was referencing it by name correctly, found it. The Benchmark. Then some weeks later it's name changed. Same couch, but now called something different, the Tracling. We should have done our research on all ends as now we are sat with a couch that wont be fixed under a warranty we paid for that should cover the damages and no refund for either. My advice to others to do your research first.
