A Thyme For Everything: what do users think?
Farnoosh Manzoorie: I went to the store and I bought some stuff, ladies the work there are so sweet and welcoming. She was explaining to me about cooking class . 😍 Thank you
Victoria Urnise: Only go in there if you don’t mind being stared at and followed around the entire store :P
Tim John: Great store for any cooking need. Attended one of their cooking glasses. I definitely recommend one!!!
Lynnea I: This is such a fun kitchen store. They were really kind to my mom and me. They have excellent truffles, quick kitchen needs: for example, your dog ate your rubber spatula and you need something to flip pancakes with and want it in 10 minutes Thyme. Happened! I have specialty glasses from here and love to take a quick walk in to see what is new.
Karen J. Campbell: I went to Lee's Summit on Saturday to the Downtown Square shopping area to "get in the sprit of Christmas feeling". I walked the area and went into a few shops. I had been there many years ago and was just interested to see what they had.One of my favorite shops is A Thyme For Everything. When I entered the shop my eyes where drawn to a three piece set of large glass candlesticks holders. I fell in love with them.I approched the counter to ask how much they were and the sales person told me.The shop was busy with with customers doing shopping and it just had a good Christmas feeling.I purchased the candlestick holders and walked out of the shop with a very good Christmas feeling. I enjoy patronising Small Business and espically over holidays. It adds a warm fuzzy Holiday feeling to me.
Janet Long: Love Love Love this shop and the girls working it! I can always find something I've been looking for 😉
Skyler Davis: Their co-owner, Jennifer, was extremely rude. My girlfriend and I felt she was staring at us the whole time while we were inside. Then preceeded to make rude remarks about the way we live our life and eating choices. Coming from someone who works in customer service, her service was horrible. We also had 4 or 5 items ready to check out, but ended up leaving with nothing. Wayyyyy overpriced anyway. You can find most of their products cheaper at local health food stores.
Carl G: Owner very rude.
MikesYourMan: My wife and I enjoyed their "cast iron skillet" cooking class last week. The Electrified Cooks (Roxanne & Kathy) made everyone an awesome meal while educating & entertaining us along the way. Owners Jennifer & Marilyn were awesome hosts! My wife was impressed with the variety of items in their shop as well. Great place!
Nikola Tristani: Wife loved the chocolate box for a valentines gift. We are for sure about to book some classes too.
Pete Jensen: Ok, the Christopher Elbow chocolates & caramels are a wee bit expensive, however they are also some of the best treats you can find! Highly recommend are the Passionfruit Caramel, Strawberry Balsamic Carmel, Lavender Caramel, Vanilla Bean Carmel, oooo Bananas Foster Caramel... Definitely check out this top shelf candy, you will not regret your choices! As with the ice cream, the flavors are on point. Passionfruit is probably my absolute personal favorite!
Haley NotGivingMyLastName: The owner is super nice and they have all kinds of wonderful products
Maisy M: I went in today to buy savannah bee lotion. A product they have had for almost a year. The store was out so I asked if they could order more in. The lady said no because it doesn't sell. I offered to buy every one that she ordered in if she could order it for me. She still said no because the minimum she could order was a $250 order. For a third time I offered to buy them all from her regardless of price she still refused.
David Hunter: Very awesome Food!! My wife and I eat there at least weekly, the service and food quality are the same every time...Aces. Dave the owner is a real friendly guy trying to be a part of the Downtown Lee's Summit Community and doing a fine job. We hope to see Bout Thyme Deli do very well and stick around for a while.P.S Try the Cheeseburger Pizza! Amazing!
96Blue96: A fantastic little store with lots of ways to inspire you!
Amy Driver: This is one of the coolest shops in Lee's Summit. We also brought our company for a cooking class and it was wonderful! The food we made was delicious and it was fun for everyone. If you haven't been in to this place - you have to stop in and check out all the awesome items.
Beadery Destash: A great shop for all your kitchen needs! Lots of classes to chose from too!

The Culinary Center of Kansas City: what do users think?
Michelle Saenz: I signed up for a class in June but I was able to attend the sooner class in May. There were 19 openings in the May class so I requested to transfer to that class. I received a voicemail advising me to sell my ticket for the June class and re-enroll in the May class. I called them back an Heather confirmed that this is my only option and they would not transfer my payment to another class. What???
Fear & Living: My friend registered for a sushi class and I registered for the wrong date. She called to switch her date to mine and they said ‘sell the ticket and take the money to buy a ticket for the other date.’ Just stupid, this place has gone downhill with their new policy. There’s 19 spots open in the date she is requesting. At least allow folks to transfer dates?
Kendra Moritz: Highly disappointed in their prioritization of policy over customer service. I purchased event tickets for 4 ($95 per ticket) and due to a death in the family, unable to attend. After speaking with the woman on the phone, she compared their ticket sales to those of the sprint center validating their inability to offer any type of change. Since I spoke with her a week prior to the event, I offered suggestions to see if they would be able to provide a portion or percentage of the ticket amount for us to come back at a later date and continue our relationship with this business (cover the expenses of our seats but show grace and desire to maintain my family as customers). She was beyond cold and made clear her annoyance with my unfortunate situation after I attempted to give my tickets away to friends, not having anyone able to go in our place.Policies should be put in place to support and protect a business, however, the best policies can do that while also maintaining a positive relationship with customers being a small, locally owned business. Beyond the outdated and blindly enforced policy, it is clear the woman on the phone needs training and support in customer service as the first (and sometimes only) individual someone interacts with.
Norene Gaines: If you have a passion for good food, learning how to cook better/easier or for cooking/kitchen tools & such, this is the place to go. Fun classes, pre cooked meals to go, kitchen boas & gadgets all in one spot & served with a sense of humor.
Angie Maggart: It's always a good time, and we learn a lot of fun new recipes
Richard Latham: Went here for a team building experience with work. The staff was friendly and it was overall a great experience. We did a mystery box, which did not come with clear directions, so I struggled. I'm the kind of cook that needs a recipe to follow. The team had a good time and I'd absolutely go again, maybe for a date night.
Nick Sandridge: Poor experience with Heather DeFeo Minor and a the KC Culinary Institute. I emailed Heather 48 hours ahead of our class to let her know I was interested in rescheduling due to a forecasted snowstorm. The snow came and roads were icy so my wife and I decided not to drive 40 minutes for the scheduled class as I was sure they’d be flexible with rescheduling. Boy was I wrong! Almost two weeks after my initial email to reschedule and having not gotten a response I called to speak with Heather where she was both rude and unhelpful, stating the cancellation policy was 72 hours not 48 regardless of weather conditions. She mentioned they were a small business struggling through the pandemic: I wonder if their struggle isn’t in part due to poor customer service and shortsighted business practices.
Facetime: Stopped in on a whim while visiting across the street. The people were friendly, the place was exceptionally clean, and it smelled amazing. One of my group will be going back for a cooking class in the future. Their selection of cookware was nicely curated, so if you need a serious kitchen tool, they will have it.
AdoredandChosen: Very hospitable environment! It was a Joy to be in the midst!
Tim Hayes: Great Pad Thai cooking class from Chef Jill
P Squared: I was visiting Overland Park from another state and bought several sets of general (non seasonal) coasters at this shop in mid-October. I changed my mind about a 3 of coasters (valued at $14) and called to ask if I could return them in late November when I'd be visiting again. The return policy states 30 days and my return would have been the 40-day mark. The woman answering the phone put me on hold and then came back and said, "No, absolutely not. We cannot do that." We are talking about new, unused, still in-the-package items. We are talking 10 days after the limit. Is business really so good (bad?) that a poor customer experience is worth Culinary Center of KC keeping their $14? What a disheartening experience.
Andrew Doerr: The cooking classes offered are a blast.
W. P.: Outstanding cooking experience for creative team building and eating a good lunch after!!!
Scott Archuletta: Unwilling to reschedule my class after I tested positive for Covid……complete waste of money, send yours elsewhere.
Jeff B: The wife and I enjoyed an interesting date night, and I would highly recommend this to any couples who are foodies and looking for a fun evening. Because we are foodies, it was somewhat difficult finding a class that featured cuisine we weren't familiar or very experienced with. But we made a great choice, and our chef, Gary, was the best. He answered every stupid question, honored every request, and even stuck around afterwards, shaking hands and thanking each attendee, and allowing time for some culinary conversation. The Culinary Center offered a free glass of wine or a beer as part of the class, and allowed time to wander their store. And, of course, the wife found a few unique kitchen items that needed to come home with us!
Terry Chartier: We had a group of 7 ladies who attended the Mexican Authentic Tamale's cooking class. It was amazing. We received a paper cook book with all the recipes, got to make 6 tamales to take home, had a free token for a drink (margarita (delicious), beer), had chips, black bean, and pico de gallo appetizer, and got to have a full meal of 2 tamales and Mexican rice. We had a blast. Well worth the price. Their shop is amazing also. We will definitely be back.
Sgarcia2864: Great atmosphere and service.
bill westerhouse: Had a great time in the knife skills class. Learned proper technique and new skills. Chef Richard assured us that with a sharp knife and proper technique we could cut onions without tears. I cried, so I still have more practice to do! Check out my strawberry fan in the Pic. 4/27/2022 - took the Chinese take out class, Chef Jill was phenomenal.
Bonita Fisher: My friend & I had a fun Girls Night Out! Carribean Getaway! Truly enjoyed the Pain Killer & learned some new cooking tips!
Leslie: We had an incredible time at the Culinary Center of Kansas City. We greatly appreciated the expert team of people who helped our group prepare our meal and took great care of us. It was a great time with our group, great team building and amazing food.
austin andersen: Love the cooking classes

Gary Reeder: First time attending an event like this. Taste Buds Kitchen is awesome. They communicated in advance what they do and don't do. What they provide (everything except drinks) What you are expected to bring (drinks and a willing to participate attitude.)The TBK lead for the night was Amy and she was cheerful, energetic, and spoke clearly with concise instructions. While being entertaining and engaging. We learned some new tricks to use in the kitchen and to cook a great meal.
