McCoy Park: what do users think?
Deborah Guillemot Scarritt: Very nice park. Picnic area very nice
Wynona Johnson (Annie): I just go sit and just think about things
tilease sims: I love this place. My daughter love this place so much
C.J Miser: Plenty of things to do for all ages! There's horseshoes for adults and plenty of playground the children!Playground: There's enough playground for kids to play and burn energyRestrooms: They have restroomsDog-friendliness: Dis are welcome too
Darrell Bunger: Playground: Lots of kids laughing and having fun times, enjoyed itRestrooms: Your standard ol park restroom, about as clean as one could hope for.Dog-friendliness: Leashes required and poop pickup required but our furry friends are welcome if you're responsible enough to clean up after them and keep them leashed. Obviously if your pet has issues with children then don't chance it. There's always lots of kids playing and having fun.Picnic area: Chess tables, not a lot of room for it there but there's lots O grass area though. Also a fun sprinkler area for hot months, kids and adults alike enjoy it.
Will McIntyre: Good for family and good for picnic, lot of neat stuff for the kids other than that there's a lot of bums that you might have to watch out for
Patricia Golding: I have lived in Independence,Mo. most of my life. My grand children have played there, been to the water park and many birthday's celebrated there. Now I will have the scenic view over looking my balcony everyday of this beautiful park to enjoy.
Troy Rabinowitz: Beautiful and just things that you don't see it other.parks.
Brent Whitesell: Great place to throw horse shoes
Linda Pulley: I took my dogs there and felt safe. People and kids were around. Plus, there is a fire station right at the park.
Asch-Lee Patricia Butts: Kids love going here. Some of the equipment needs to be repaired, but otherwise we're happy there.Playground: Areas for all ages, little and big kids.Restrooms: Open during the summer, but I wish it was during the rest of the year and more central to both areas.
Myles Awaye: Back in the 1990's a body was found deep in the sand that the authorities determined was there since at least the early 1980's.Good Ole' Independence.
Jessica Richardson: I had a gender reveal party and the shelter was available. We were able to carry out the part without any distractions and we were not bothered. However the restrooms were locked and no restroom available. I understand why they may be closed but makes for a long party with no restroom and should have checked that first for the guests. They were able to use restrooms across the street but had to walk a bit.
Lisa Milligan: Great playground for toddlers, next to a beautiful playground for a bit older kids. Some of the slides in the older kid's playground ended too high off the ground.
Jennifer Marie Murcia: Love it 😍
Sam Kingsley: If you want a fun park for old and young kids alike, come to this park! It has an attached splash pad that my kids love during the summertime! It has a wide open surrounding area, which helps to keep kids safe, and makes it quite lovely in overall appearance. We picnic here often. They have horseshoe games here. I've seen people play, but have never joined them myself.
Miranda Martinez: My granddaughters all love this park! They beg me to take them every time they come over, reguardless of weather. Very clean, and populated most of the warmer months.
Robert Perez: Ahh,just waiting for spring to begin….and a HiBoy hamburger to munch on!
Joseph Maya: The restrooms are always locked.
Ja'Net King: Great place to bring the kiddos to let them get their energy out. Lots for them to do.Playground: Playground is fantastic! Super fun for not only the children but adults who are kids at heart.Picnic area: Plenty of space to sit and be
Maryjane MCluvin: Love the parks

Little Blue Park: what do users think?
Thomas Hackley: Birthday celebration// family get-together at the park. Nice sunny day, good weather but warm. We reserved the shelter and barbecued.
Adaire Stewart: Good place!
Miranda: Good I guess a little dirty
Joe Tesar: Autocross event with the SCCA every third sunday of the month. #Funwithcars everyone is welcome
CrocK: Love it just not enough parking or everybody goes at the same time i do.
jenn K: Need more places for the experience. But very nature for sure.
alicia zelada: I love it 😍 my puppy ❤️ have fun
Jan F: The place was clean, and there was ample staff available to help. They had plenty of dogs and cats to choose from for adoption. We didn't see any young puppies, but they did have four kittens. All of the animals had already been spayed or neutered. Most of the adult cats we're $45 to adopt. They wanted $150 for each kitten.Four stars because three of the four kittens had goopy eyes. We were told they would send drops home with us to fix that, and that their vet would look at them after a week if they still seemed sick.
Joan Adams: Nice serene place to walk.
Janet Robinson: Clean and peaceful.
Ann Morris: Peaceful
Sherri Garrison: Has walking trails and a dog park!
brandy lindsey: Very nice place
Terry Graham: My mother-in-law was looking for a cute little kitty and this was the best place we came to find one. Little did we know my sister and I walked into this one room where a 2 year female cat named "Martini" wanted to be around me. I could go on but no need to waste your time reading when you can come here and find a cat or dog you're looking for.
butch nelson: Smaller.nice park
Rhea Bassett: Good times
Nancy Monahan: Looking for a little black female dog. Lots of pets here.
Logan Schulmeyer: Awesome
Kenneth Morris: Quiet place to enjoy all kinds of activities
Tracy Dinwiddie: A nice little Park to go to in Independence.

Van Hook Park Soccer Field: what do users think?
kevin hendrickson: Walking trails are good!
Staphanie Spoor (Effie): Nice quiet
Anthony Ramirez: Very poorly maintained fields and area. Soccer fields are functional but that's about the best that you can say about a seldom mowed field of grass with a few broken goals on it.
Tim Brigham: Restrooms: There used to be a restaurant stop at this location, but it is permanently closed with a nasty port a john left in the parking lot.Dog-friendliness: Not dog friendly, there are signs specifically saying not to bring dogs onto the soccer fields.Picnic area: There are ahead of picnic tables I don't want to be broken down.
Derek H: Gates were locked and we weren't able to enjoy this beautiful park....
Toni Sims: Very peaceful enjoyed my time here
Darin Good: This park is huge and has tons to explore if you're not scared of homeless people. I found a bunch of really lovely Bethany Falls limestone forming bluffs alongside the creek that runs through it. The ball fields feel very abandoned but it looks the city does come and mow it every once in awhile.
Joe Cusic: Nice park!
Wayne Simmons: Great little park we practice soccer at. Nice flat space for running and playing with a combo goal that can be soccer or football.
Stephanie Carstens: Could have a better parking lot and road, field needs mowed more often too. No shade, but it's soccer so hey
Jennifer Theen: This place has not been well maintained. The road and parking lot is like driving over the Grand Canyon. The restrooms look like a death trap. Portapotties are destroyed.
Jennifer Bosley: Quiet but remodele is needed
Cheryl Taylor: Quiet park has kids area and covered picnic area
Brian Deconink: CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!!! Lawn well manicured, playground was IMMACULATE, picnic area was clean enough to eat off, and the restrooms.....the RESTROOMS?!?!? YEA, that bout sums it up!
john eads: Great little tucked away place. Nice shady picnicking, weather under the covered roof or under the shade of the shade trees which are plentiful. Large parking lot would Park 30 plus cars easily. Nice young children's swing set and jungle gym clean restroom which is been open each time I visited
Charles Feldpausch: Lousy worthless park
Bonnie Woods: Great
Jennifer Esque: It's a nice park but pretty sure homeless people camp there.
Judith Warren: Was there on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and it was closed.
Jackie Long: This park has a bad reputation of being a drug park and YES I can verify it STILL IS! If you have younger children, my advice is, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
Brad Richardson: Bathrooms were locked up, but the fields were in decent shape

Jason Brickey: Used to be our go to place for picnics, such poor maintenance has made it almost unusable
SHELLEY PRICE: Was out here to support the Truman Trot 5K
Raven Pinkii Black: I've been several times and it's beautiful but unfortunately people leave their trash and there's uneducated people that feed the birds (ducks and geese) bread without realizing it's extremely bad for them. Please get signs telling people to pick up after themselves and to not feed the ducks bread. Other parks have those signs I don't understand why this one doesn't.
Ahnesti Davis: It’s really beautiful
Oscar Bustos: This place is fantastic to take kids to have fun and a adventure

Independence Park Maintenance: what do users think?
Chad MarlIng: It's not going to help the park in anyway by sending someone that's as lazy as the people that trash the park in the first place, also driving through the park while the grounds are wet is just going to tear the grass up. Very sad 😥........
