Children's Mercy East: what do users think?
Lorelei Winzenburg: Everyone was super sweet and patient. No issues.
Amanda: This is unfortunate because two things.People in radiology are MAGNIFICENT - Rachel, Amanda, Amber!! Mrs. Marla in speech is LOVELY! We love them. And idk what happened to Vivian in labs, but I hope she's not gone forever. She was a good one and I hope they didn't lose her.Why one stars???Something has changed. Dramatically. The lab techs need some serious changes in the attitude. Why are you working in a children's hospital acting like that? Rude, 100% disinterested in helping and absolutely upset out family. Someone dropped the ball and didn't get our orders to them. Ok, mistakes happens. I had to call the ordering doctor to get this taken care of, no big deal. Then I told one of the two rude techs that we had the orders faxed over. She acted like we were intruding, that we had kicked her dog. She comes back and gives us down the road about not checking in before coming down there, but we literally do this every 3 months; we've always been told to just go to labs after our son's radiology. She talked to my husband and I like trash. We are there to get out 2yr olds cancer screenings! We don't have enough room for these medical "professionals" to treat us like that. I still cannot believe it happened. And it wasn't just one lady.Get the seniored people out of there! They're angry and jaded. They have no place in a children's hospital and I'd get hand over fist they are the reason fresh faces aren't there anymore, the people who are gentle and kind and patient; where are they??!---------- below is my original review. It's been up for over a year. That's how long we went with no major issues. It's absolutely awful now. I can't even give more than one star for how absolutely Terrible labs treated us ------You never know what you have until you go to another facility and see how things could be. Hah 😬Thank God for this location. The people we've encountered are a breath of fresh air.All else considered, we have always had a pleasant experience and Debra up front has gone above and beyond to help make things easier. Im not sure she could ever know what her helpfulness and kindness means to us.Also to add Vivian in labs. Amazing. Truly. She's incredibly patient and easy on our baby. We love when she's available to do his lab work.We worry about our child especially around time to come in, but we feel he is in good hands here and the staff are all empathetic to us and ... Just thank you. ❤️
Cooper Stock: I love this location. I live close it's very convenient. The staff is AAA++ and so friendly and thorough. I wish they had a PCP there Lol!!
Alheli Aburto: De los lugares que hemos visitado por emergencia para mi hijo, este es uno de los más rápidos en atenderte, hay un chico en check in,y es super amable.Tiene muy bonitas instalaciones.
Rachel Burris: Unlike CMH Downtown, East is SUPERB! I’m always treated with respect as a mother and my kids aren’t intimidated. And I’m usually always in and out.
Robin Davis: I've been taking my daughter for the last 10 years, and we ate always seen fast and the staff ate amazing. I wouldn't go to any other urgent care. I just hate they close early now.
Trisha Schreck: Staff in the registration are just not motivated to get patients checked in to have labs done, that is suppose to be a walk in based but I have to register….. doesn’t make sense to me Literally sat in front of a gentleman for 30min with him doing nothing but clowning around with a another staff member instead of doing his job or her even doing her job. I will mention we were the only people sitting there. No one else, just my daughter and myself.
Mohammad Rawashdeh: Despite being busy most of the time, the staff are always attentive and wonderful
Frodo Baggins: Best place to ever bring my kids! Everyone is so nice, respectful, and compassionate! CMH is the only place I trust.
Ron Huff: Quick in and out along with fast diagnosis.
Delicia Edwards: Called CMH nurse help line for my sick 10 month old. The nurse instructed me to come to this location and be here before 8 pm. Arrived here at 7:03pm and was told my son couldn’t be seen because they don’t take walk ins after 7pm. The nurse told me I need to drive to Overland Park Er Or Downtown Er. I’m so frustrated and angry.
Queen Karla: We were in and out of here , versus when we went to the nearest emergency room and waited 4 hours. The staff was sooo nice to my daughter, they made her feel so much better even when she was super sick and down. They immediately knew what was wrong with her. thank you all so much for being in this health care industry! I would definitely recommend this facility to all parents ☺️
hi there: The building is clean, the staff are professional and awesome, and my granddaughter has always received excellent care. Recommend to anyone with children
David Michaels: You know I understand thing are busy I’m a frustrated parent but doctor Addington should never speak to a parent like she did to myself. I’m unsure what she was trying to say on her way out the door but I know she pointed her finger towards me which was surely somewhat threatening in my eyes when it happen. I felt the professionalism she’s supposed to have was not there, especially after telling her i’ve been up since 4 a.m. just picked him up from daycare came straight here we’re tired he’s hungry and need a bath an changed. Not to mention she turned the t.v. off when I was clearly watching it. Jeanna James, Lonna Anderson, ect. whoever should speak to this individual and reach out to me if you would need anymore information
Berda Warren: Children's mercy east
Jake H: Had to take my sick toddler here as my pediatricians office wasn’t taking walk-ins that day (which is a whole other annoying story). We were back in the room for MAYBE 10 minutes. The dr listened to his breathing and took his blood pressure, that was it. The nurse gave him a Covid test and we went home to wait for the results. A few weeks later I get a bill for over $500 after I already paid $50 the day of. My insurance won’t pay anything because I haven’t hit my deductible. They won’t negotiate the bill down either. This is price gouging, they charge this ridiculous amount because they can, and people like me who actually care about their credit will have to pay it. There is no way this visit should cost anywhere near this much.
Ranae Jack: Brought my son in to get looked at when he was having a hard time breathing. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly kind.
Keri Tjaden: Charged us $50 at time of service. Insurance says we only owed $34. Never recieved a refund, and their hours of service to call for billing are terrible. No other way to contact them.Update: When customer service is open, they are very helpful.
Crystal Kramps: Didn't even think to look in the ears when you've got a kid with cold, fever etc. SMH!
Kristina: I was so disappointed in the lack of transparency when it comes to being seen (setting appointments vs. walk-ins). I drove 25 minutes to have my child seen by a children's mercy provider as our pediatrician is an affiliate. I called ahead to confirm hours because that's all that I had time for- however, when I arrived I was informed that no walk-ins were allowed. I had to scramble to find nearby urgent care for my child during a desperate time. It would've been very helpful to have this information heard during my call, via the automated message.
Christina Slusher: Check-in was very quick and easy. Staff was professional and caring. In and out in under 3 hours which I consider great for any walk-in medical care especially when stitches are involved.I really appreciated how child friendly it was. It obviously needs to be that way, but it was a much better experience with my kid than it would have been at a non-child specific care area.

Cockerell & McIntosh Pediatrics - an affiliate of Children's Mercy: what do users think?
Latresa Behrens: After the passing of my child pediatrician that my kids saw we found Dr. Beck! She is the best and has always been wonderful with my kiddos!
JN C: So far a 5 star review. I'm from FL & VERY spoiled by my 24/7 pediatric care pediatricians there. Alle made all three of my children's appointments & was so polite, kind, knowledgeable & I thank her for all the information she gave to me. Kudos to Alle for sitting there doing all of that! Thanks so much!! I will F/U after my children's appts.
Arika Tomblinson: We have been coming here since my daughter was born and always had excellent care. Until today, when they told me they would no longer see my daughter because I had two bills previously, that have been paid in full. Now we have to find a place at the last minute, for my daughter who has cried for hours while waiting to make an appointment to get her looked at.They’re clearly more worried about money than they are the practice.
Heidi Clark: No one will answer the phone! They keep misdiagnosing my daughter 4x now. Then billed my insurance incorrectly too! This place has really gone downhill over the years!
Kate McClain: Dr. Beck is awesome she has been our kids doctor since birth. I love how straightforward she is and no nonsense, she doesn't tip toe around issues and just tells it how it is! She has always guided us in the right direction with child rearing. I also love the nurses, my kids don't take shots well and they are always kind and quick, even when my kids are throwing a fit. I would recommend everyone I know with kids in the area to go here.
Cris Guillen: Execelente atencion
M S: The dead fish in the tank should have been an indicator of the service, or lack there of, that we were about to receive. I've had various issues with this office over the years, but with them being so local, and accepting walk ins, it was convenient. The final straw was when our school nurse advised I needed to take my child to the doctor for an ear infection. We were at Cockerell within 2 hours of that phone call. The nurse practitioner said there was nothing wrong with him. I said clearly there is, he is complaining of ear pain and his ear becoming muffled. NP continued to say nothing was wrong with him but if it's still hurting in a few days, to call them. Frustrated, we left. The next morning, my child was complaining of even more severe ear pain so we went to a different urgent care, and within seconds of looking at my childs ear, the doctor stated he had a really bad ear infection on one side, and the beginning of an infection on the other side. That spoke volumes of the lack of care my child received. Wish I could ask for my copay back 🤦‍♀️
The Blue Gods: My son has gone there all his life and I think everyone is truly fantastic!!!
J: Communication with the staff about appointments has been wonderful and the nurses and doctors themselves has been a very helpful it has been very easy to get appointments and overall very satisfied. BEST STAFF,HANDS DOWN
Mercury Hesse: This place is alway taking so long, everytime we come here it take us 1 to 2 hours to be seen and finish, wiring time is 1 hour and one nurse was rude, my appointment today is 11:15 , and the front seat said I have to pay,$20 for copay so I said, no, my daughter got insurance. So it took her 30 minutes to figure out. By the time she checked us in there were already a lot of patients checked in so we had to wait for 25 minutes then we get in and we wait for an hour. It is so ridiculous!!!! The nurse is rude, my daughter said asked her if it’s is a checkup the nurse said, “ no, this is not a check up, my 5 year old left confused I told her, she doesn’t know what she talking about. So we were waiting , for an hour I came out and asked the ride nurse said we will be next there is one now. But the doctor of my daughter is talking and lauging at the front desk ! I am so mad at tgis place for my daughter . Will definitely change so don’t have to deal with this!
Sarah Dudok: I have went to Cockerell & McIntosh for years and have had several issues but always went back because it was just easier not having to have things switched over to another office. After todays experience I will never be going back. My son was very sick and we waiting in car for well over a hour and half waiting to be seen by the doctor. There is nothing urgent about their "Urgent Care". The front desk staff is very rude and will never set foot in this office again.
Kimberly Armer: Everyone was friendly and professional
Gabrielle Rubalcaba: Being a first time mom, I came to C&M worried, unsure, and somewhat unknowledgeable about caring for a newborn (you can prepare as much as you'd like before having a baby, but nothing compares to having the baby in your arms). My son was seen here for 4 months and I did not have a good experience there for many reasons. 1) The front office staff was not friendly nor did that really even acknowledge my existence when waiting to be called forward to be checked in. They were brief and seemed to be too focused on their computers and headsets. When I'm speaking with someone, I want their full attention and the headsets made it seem like they were busy speaking with someone else. This is not the receptionist's fault by any means, but it's definitely note worthy. 2) The office has art work EVERYWHERE which is/can be quite overstimulating visually. It's beautiful artwork, don't get me wrong, but it made me anxious with it being so busy. I think this important to note for kiddos with ADD/ADHD. 3) The nurses or medical assistants, don't have name tags and do not introduce themselves. I work at a dental office and we always make a point to introduce ourselves so it's weird not knowing who these people are. It seems quite unprofessional. Not one time have I been told any of their names. 4) The nurses aren't very friendly either unless they are playing with the baby; they seem to flip a switch on when they get to hold the baby. 5) The staff and especially Dr. Kirby-Diaz is not supportive of breastfeeding. Anytime I had concerns about breastfeeding, she just told me to see the lactation consultant. My son had issues with his weight from the beginning and she just pushed it to the side and made me feel incapable of feeding and nourishing my son. She gave me incorrect information regarding the quantity of milk to give my son in which 30+ women (apart of the breastfeeding group I'm apart of and who have/are breastfeeding themselves) told me she was incorrect. I also was told by a MD and several IBCLCs that the information she gave me was wrong. I found published articles proving her information was incorrect as well. Instead of trying to figure out why my son was slowly gaining weight, she just pushed it to the side and told me I was not producing enough. I suggested getting him evaluated for lip/tongue ties and she dismissed it and said it was unnecessary. Now that my son is 5 months old and I've seen a different doctor, we finally got my son seen by an SLP who diagnosed my son with SEVERAL medical conditions including lip and tongue ties. If Dr. Kirby-Diaz didn't just blame me for his slow weight gain, my son would have had these revisions completed by now. I've left this office every time but one time either on the verge of tears or in tears because I was not supported by Dr. Kirby-Diaz or the staff. I would 100% NOT recommend ANYONE to go to this office for these reasons. I give this office a rating of 2 stars because I liked Amanda who is a NP. I saw her only one time, but she was the only one who was friendly and supportive.
Mamabear: Not sure if they have new management but front office staff is a joke.Up until recently you were told to wait in your car due to Covid and every time I call to tell them I arrive I would ask if I was calling the winner road location. Every time I was told no but they could help me. I figure maybe they now had a call center or people working from home as I could never actually get someone from here to answer. This last time I was told I could now check in at the lobby.Last week I walked in for our appointment and no one even noticed me, no one greeted us, no one smiled, nothing. The girls were all too busy laughing withtheir backs toward me while talking to the girl in the back. They seems bother I had interrupted their conversation. While waiting for the doctor to call us back I counted 11 yes ELEVEN separate times that they phones rang and rang and rang. They were all too busy chatting and using their cellphones to even noticed another family had walked in. The nurses and the doctors were nice but I did not like the vibe while waiting staff is truly terrible and now I know why I can never get though on the phone when I ask for winner rd office. It’s quite a shame to be honest. Not sure how management even allows this or if they are even aware but I can tell you the family that checked in after me got the same vibe.
Jenniekcmic Kcmic: Myself & my siblings were pt’s there when we were young, my children were pt’s there & for over 20yrs I have been a Medical Assistant in which most of those yrs I spent in OBGYN & referred many pt’s to Cockerell and McIntosh including suggesting my daughter take her son there but after his most recent visit I will NEVER refer anyone there EVER again! There’s more than one problem with this group but I assure you all the negative reviews are spot on 👌🏻 There has to be a good relationship between you, your Pediatrician & the office staff! Soo many other options in the KC area parents!
Jacob Wright: Amazing pediatrician office. Everyone on staff is friendly, helpful and very well informed. I cannot say enough good things about them.
Ashley Henry: My son has been going to this office since he was 8 weeks he is now 4 years old. Doctors and nurses are amazing office staff not so much. Please verify where and when your sending your patients I came a long way for my child not to be seen for a urgent matter.
Shymika Medeiros: Love this practice, my children love the doctors, and nurses. They always get us in quickly when we need them. Very happy with how we are treated.
Amanda Snapp: Nurses were nice until she she asked about hep B vaccine given in hospital.. when I said he didn’t receive it she said “ so he will get the hep b shot today” and I immediately said “no he won’t” she stopped talking to me.. she could have asked if I wanted him to have it..other than that, I love that they text!! So much easier!!
Kayla Johnson: I highly recommend Dr. Cockerell. The nurses are all very helpful as well. They are doing phenomenal even during this pandemic in keeping everyone safe and healthy. Also, they are wonderful at answering any questions you may have, thoroughly. I will be back time and time again until my kiddos are 18! Thank you.
Amanda Harrelson: I would not recommend this doctor's office, ESPECIALLY in the middle of a pandemic. They do not believe in sciences or masks, nor do they believe children are at risk. For the safety of your babies, PLEASE go elsewhere.

Independence Pediatrics / Lee’s summit pediatrics (Lee’s summit office of Independence pediatrics): what do users think?
Tammy Matthews: The fact that you address the positive feed back and NOT the negative says it all. I have read so many posts stating the clinic used to be good but not now. How about you address that issue.
Ashley Pitman: The site manager Dana has been so amazing, she’s been so helpful and supportive and she genuinely cares about your kiddo!I appreciate her so much !
Harley Vassholz: I’ve been going to Independence Pediatrics since I was a baby & I’ve never had an issue with any of the staff! The nurses are sweet, work in a timely effective manner & the providers are ABSOLUTELY amazing. They keep the office tidy & clean, & the walk-in times are great & I’m in & out of there in no time! Will definitely be recommending my friends to take their children here.
Shawntell Cato: I give it a 2 because the receptionist team and doctors are amazing and helpful. However some members on the nurses team make it difficult. Answer their personal phones while in the room checking out my kids. 2 months ago I was supposed to receive a referral for my son. It never got put in. When issues like is come up I leave messages on the nurses line and never get a call back. I don't want to blame all the nurses as I don't know who listens to those messages. But again when a certain individual shows laziness and unprofessionalism and all my issues happen when she's our nurse.
Christina Caldarella: My children have been going there from 6 weeks to now at almost 20. I have no complaints and would recommend this pediatrics office.
Jolene Skaggs: You could tell that all they cared about was making money and not your child. I no longer take my child here. The care was terrible
Mike West: No respect for anybody’s time. 3rd visit, 3rd time in a row I’m waiting more than an hour after my appointment to see the doctor. The reception girls are always rude. Wouldn’t come back if I was paid to do so.
Nicole Youngstrom: I was shocked how rude the front staff is. If I could give an office 0 stars I would. The doctors should be embarrassed to have these people representing them.
Sumar Kelley: There are 2 great NP there, and Dr. Harris is great but he isn't there often. It's a revolving door of nurses, most have horrible bedside manner, they don't know their left from their right. They never have consistent answers. I had a NP lookup a rash on Google and misdiagnose it and had to go to CM to get it properly treated. We are switching offices. I have given SEVERAL complaints and they're never taken seriously and nothing comes from them. This office has went down hill so quickly. I have been going here since I was 3 and now my kids go here. Very disappointed.
Aleana Christian: I would recommend NEVER bringing your child here. Our last experience was possible medical negligence. I brought my 3 yr old daughter in after a week of high fever and worsening upper respiratory symptoms and losing weight rapidly. We ended up seeing a male "provider" who is not listed in their staff on their website. He offered no treatment plan and was not concerned with her losing 2 pounds in a week.( she weighs 30 pounds) I pushed for any tests, covid or rsv. He told me that even if she did have RSV or Flu he would decline any treatment since she was a "healthy child". I pushed for him to at least test for RSV and he stated in front of my child that the test would be very painful and unnecessary. This obviously scared my toddler badly. The nurse that took the rsv test did not swab her nasal cavity. Instead she swiped a drip of snot or saliva off of her lip. The test came back with a false negative. After another 3 days of illness we went elsewhere and received a positive RSV test and diagnosis of secondary infection. This office will minimize your concerns and treat parents as if they don't know their own kids health. The nurses are not gentle with the kids. They make no attempt to explain procedures or shots and will manhandle your child in front of you. The provider scared my daughter unnecessarily, and offered medical advice that is outdated and disproven. At all appointments the front desk staff has been downright rude, and wait time is 30min to 2hrs past what you schedule. All of that seems inconsequential considering their actual medical negligence. Please go elsewhere if you can, I wish I had.
JD Roberts: Like our pediatrician but not how office is ran. Was charged for co-pay when insurance doesn't has one. Was told would get reimbursed and months later never have been. Don't answer phone or return messages.Waited over 2 1/2 hours for appointment one time. Was supposed to go back to work and told them needed to reschedule and said I would be charge for cancelling with less than 24 hours noticed and would be 2 months before could get back in. Apparently okay to have someone wait that long past their scheduled time. The LS office seems to be run much better.
Angelo Ramirez: Great staff and the pediatric team is very knowledgeable and have a wonderful bedside manner.
Shelby Willett: Sam is an RN typically at the Lees Summit office. She is Amazing! Her bedside manner is impeccable, she is honest and upfront. And extremely helpful. Even followed up on her own to make sure I had recieve the information I needed. I have had less than favorable experiences with many member of the staff. But Sam is a one of a kind.
Brandy Kroeger: Horrible experience! We are not the only ones that feel this way either. They didn’t even say hello or how are you when they came in. They jumped to conclusions without meeting our kids yet and spoke very rudely and were strangely abrupt. They were also very rough without warning when moving the kids and the kids felt uncomfortable. They didn’t even explain that they were going to be looking at our kids privates and just did it abruptly. That made our kids feel very uncomfortable. I would want them to be nice, and explain what they are going to do before they do it. They were also rough when giving shots. I’ve never seen anyone do them that way. This location has disappointed us and others that we know. They also don’t take time to tell you what percentile the kids are in and how they are doing developmentally, even with new moms. I would suggest going somewhere else…
Cynthia Jimenez: I been bringing my kids to this clinic for 15 years. Most of the doctors are great. If you need to talk to a nurse, you will never be able to reach one. Leaving voicemails is a joke because they will NEVER return your phone call.
harmony tyndall: I've been going here for 2 years now with both of my kids. Overall they are ok. But whenever I call the nurses line they never answer and they never call back even when I leave a message. They have been like this for two years.
Rada R: By FAR the worst pediatric clinic I've ever brought my daughter in. Be ready to wait over 45 minutes for your kiddo to be seen.Receptionists are extremely rude and disrespectful. In many occasions I've had to call the clinic because they always fail to send my daughter's prescription over to my pharmacy even when they say they will.Unfortunately, my family overall experience at this location is been greatly bad.
Bradley Burkhart: Showed up 15 minutes early as per usual. Waited 15 minutes past our appointment time to be called back, as per usual. Been sitting for over 35 minutes in a room with no word from a nurse or anyone on the staff, as per usual. This place has zero consideration for your time
Adrian Klein: Big issue with a policy they have and the attitude of the front desk worker. Showed up for our two kids' Dr appointments at 920 assuming that was the start. We got the times wrong and our first kid's appointment was at 9, the second appointment was 920. Okay we will reschedule the first and get the 2nd in right? No. Because we missed the first, they would now not see the second. We asked if we could just get our first in to have her cough looked at and still no. The lady at the front desk told us (with quite an attitude) we could either wait around all day in hopes a time opened up, reschedule both for next week, or go to urgent care. Seems ridiculous that because the first child was missed they won't see the 2nd who was there right at appointment time. Disappointed with this policy and hope to see it changed. Our previous experiences have been good so feel bad leaving a low review but it's against the policy not the wonderful PA Caitlin Sunderland we seeEditing from 2 to a 4 because despite policy and a front desk issue, Caitlin Sunderland is magic with the kids and my wife. She is just awesome.
Mackenzie York: In regards to Independence Pediatrics:Our girls have been coming here since birth. My step-children but my husbands bio children. Since day one of our receiving custody (in 2018; prior to covid) my husband and I have continued to bring the girls here so there was not so much change for them. I can not speak on how Independence Pediatrics has treated their bio mom but I can say a number of doctors and assistants have had beyond hateful attitudes and been borderline disrespectful which is completely uncalled for especially when it comes to the parents of sick/injured children. There have been many condescending remarks, unexplained treatments, and impatient behavior toward my husband and I during our children's visits, in front of the children mind you.I should be able to ask what the solution ingredients are that is being used/poured all over my child when cleaning out her ears so that I can explain to my fearful child what's going on since sed assistant was not explaining or comforting her at any time. When we suggested numerous times that our child may need tubes because her father had them/her sinuses do not drain properly we have continued to be denied without reason. This sinus drainage issue creates huge amounts of hard wax that needs to be physically removed if we don't keep putting over the counter ear drops in. There was an asthma medication that was given to our child that we were told would help her ears but it did not and gave her worse night terrors than she already had. They did not suggest any other options when I called to inform them it was not working. We do not have time to keep going to the doctors office because the issue wasn't handled the first 3 times. We do not appreciate the disrespect of not considering what we know and say about our own children. We are not visiting for your judgement, we are visiting but you are a place of treatment. Never once have we been rude to any of you. When we are visiting due to a concern of a slight learning disability in one of our kids because of what they have been through/genetics, we do not need the school to tell/suggest anything because we parent our children not the school system. Please do not continue to repeat the same condescending remark while my husband is there with a concern already. Again, we are not visiting for your judgment only treatment. You do not know/care to know the extent of what we've already dealt with/keep dealing with so it would be great if you could just gracefully do your job. I understand, during this time, some may be overworked and underpaid and I am sorry you are going through this. I truly am.You should love what you do regardless of how burnt out you are. My suggestion to you is get a good nights sleep, eat a good meal and take your breaks. We have all been there in one way or another and we are all human. Above all, treat people with understanding and kindness. For each of you struggling and taking it out on others, I hope you consider this review and you have a blessed year this year.
Keri Shockey: I will never go back there. They treated my teenage daughter horribly. They did a ua test for an infection and never called me back. After a month she had a check up. At that appointment they accused her of having an std at 14 and called her basically a liar. I insisted on another test and the doctor annanth seemed annoyed that I doubted her. She ripped things out of my daughters hand saying she wasn't paying attention but my daughter was in tears having an anxiety attack using her fidget bracelet on her phone. The test came back the next Tuesday and it was wrong. My daughter had nothing wrong with her and I received no apology from Sheela Anaanth. She hung up on me because I was upset how they were handling the situation. I've never had such a horrible experience with doctors who didn't seem to care at all how they treated a young girl who was there for their help and especially after losing her grandfather just a few weeks prior to all of that. Another doctor called and did apologize but was supposed to call and make a new appointment with her and so I could file a grievance against Dr. Annanth and I have never heard one thing back. Very disappointing a pediatrician handled this situation so poorly after being patients there for years.

Swope Health Independence: what do users think?
Darnell Murray: Fast and courteous service
Erin Gill: They are currently forcing my husband to wait literal WEEKS on lifesaving heart surgery because their dentist refuses to perform oral surgery that he needs to clear an infection before surgery is safe for him. We were first told we needed clearance from his surgeon, which the surgeon provided, and were then told the dentist wanted him off his blood thinners for three days before surgery and they would call him the same day to reschedule. My husband had to call them, only to be told the dentist "doesn't think it should be her decision how long he's off his blood thinners" (interesting, since she was pretty confident about it earlier this morning), and they're waiting on someone named "Mr. Dickson" (no one can tell us who on Earth Mr. Dickson is) to decide that for her. Meanwhile, my husband's risk of a recurrent heart attack or stroke increases by the day while they keep dragging their feet, but as long as no one swears about that over the phone, they're apparently fully comfortable with that risk, as well as the extended hours I've had to take off work to be there for sedated surgeries that wind up not happening. Do not recommend AT ALL.Update 10/24/22: "Mr. Dickson" is evidently "Dr. Dickson", and has scheduled an appointment with my husband for Wednesday at 2 pm, despite the fact that he has already had the required oral surgery after going in to this office and refusing to leave until someone explained the situation to him, at which point they magically produced a same day appointment. It's also worth noting that the entire reason my husband even needs this heart surgery is because Swope previously dismissed his active congestive heart failure as a simple respiratory infection, so there's that. I stand by my original comment that I wouldn't seek treatment here if you value your health.
Monail Cole: We had an emergency situation and Delania at the front desk was very patient and helpful with getting my son in to be seen.
Dawn Dawson: No walk ins, have to make an appointment, and is a minimum co-payment $25 & up.
Laura Bryant: I have tried for 10 days to simply get a refill on a prescription! Rude...nasty...unprofessional office personnel.
Michael Nichols: Waste of time and money. No mention of "limited walk-in appointments" by receptionist when we called to schedule a visit. Wasted money to get there on a uber and not be seen to go to the hospital ER instead.Avoid this joke of a "medical facility" at all costs.
Trina: I went to the dental side, everyone was nice and did their job perfectly. I saw doctor Pellengrino and she was awesome. I would rater higher if I could!
shelli miller: The front desk doesn't care about who's here 1st it's the rude people that jump out of their cars and jump in line knowing you were here, but front desk just sees 1st in line smh so I don't get seen? it's not good
jen appell: Every single interaction with staff was fantastic. I arrived early to fill out paperwork and the staff got me in swiftly. I was met with care and compassion at every turn. Honestly couldn't ask for a better experience.
M H: Was told my bill would be 25 dollars. Got my bill in the mail and it’s 218. The reason I went to swope in the first place was because I don’t have a lot of money. So they lied to me. Not only that, but I waited over 4 hours to be seen for literally 10 minutes, maybe less, because all I wanted was a doctors note for my work. Absolutely horrible. Will be disputing this bill, I am not paying that much. I could’ve went to an actually good doctor for that. Like an urgent care. Should’ve just done that to begin with. It’s sad that less fortunate people are treated like this.
Michelle Flemings: The receptionist is trash. I mean she is not professional at all. They will turn you away with no antibiotics. I promise. It’s looks like a place with a high turnover of employees. I have gotten my back molars taking out. They do not provide any antibiotics or anything for pain. It has been two month since I had the surgery and I am still in pain. Now I’m starting to have my ear hurting me behind the same side my two teeth being pulled out from. I do not recommend this place for great quality. Find somewhere else more decent with greater staff.
philo caly: we called 3 DAYS ago and they told us to come in at 7 am today, they didnt open the doors til 7:30 then turned away other people that also said they were told to come in at 7 for a walk in because they have 1 spot open in the afternoon.
Ryno: The only reason I gave this place one star is because it was not possible to give them negative Stars they lie they do not care about their patients even when you pay them. I have been 2 months without teeth in my head and since they decided to leave six on the bottom I can't even chew anything. I call almost everyday to see where they are with the dentures that I paid over $1,000 for. Do not go to this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don Underhill: Real sad when you wait a month to get in to see a doctor and think your going to get some help only to be handed another appt 30 more days out!!!!
Amanda Hardy: Not very good was waiting 4 hours still waiting and I can see my kids back tooth and she said she can not see it this is a sham I don’t thank I will ever come back again some thing needs to be done I have never waited this dame long my kid is in a lot of pan I have been here since 7:30and it is now 10:45am I am pist
Gina Ward: I see Dr. Naiomi Jamal, at the Independence office. I REALLY like her!! I recommend her!!
victor cromwell: Great place for families or anyone who needs minor health care. The staff is both friendly and helpful a clean safe place to bring children and the elderly a very convenient clinic right in our neighborhood just right down the street it's not like most clinics much nicer can't say enough about the staff so if you live here or just happen to be in the neighborhood and need care stop in and see for yourself
Alondra Jaimes: Tried to call to make an appointment, and I was transferred more than 3 times. After the 5th time I was over it.
Rachel Smith: Was skipped not once but twice from the callback phone queue. Was 2nd and 3rd then called about 5 minutes later and was 11th and 16th in line, never got the 2 calls I should've. Kansas city location called back within 10 minutes the 1st time I was in queue with them.
Stephanie Njisevynse: Long 3 1/2 hour wait then told they'd x Ray me then bring me back out to the waiting area for another hour while they went to lunch...never again
Eddie West: Better off going to an animal hospital
