Rachel: They have a fishtank but they don't sell certain parts for it. You can't even order them online. You gave to rig it up or take a chance and buy stuff in hopes that it works.

Crystal Rice: Staff was incredible. I arrived literally a minute before closing but they were the only place that was open to pick up my dogs food & my dogs had ran out. The closing manager kept the store open so I could quickly get the dogs food. She didn't have to because I know it delayed them getting out by a few minutes at least.

Patti Smith: Went in to pick up crickets for my daughter and her fiance and came out with a lot of information about the gecko and it's proper way to feed it. Even was introduced to the cricket keeper to assist with keeping extra little devils on hand for the next feeding. I even found a few treats for my friend that was outside waiting for me but I didn't get my friend a treat just her dog LOL

Dippity Doo: Took my girl...this is what SHE wants to say ~~HI I'M PEPPER!! Me, being an adult dog, I tried to keep my cool, cause after all, I'm not a puppy! First thing...When I stepped out of the car sure enough...I couldn't believe my nose!!! then, had to squat!The see through doors opened like magic!When I walked in...omagosh!! the SMELLS!!extremely excited... immediately my nose took to the floor! Every toy, bone, antler, chewie, ball, every corner marked territory by others before me, then I ofcourse marked my own little spots just to be fair! Mom said they were nice enough to leave cleaning supplies all over just for our messes sorry!We miss my Twitchy so mom stopped to look at the cats up for adoption it was really sad, they all looked lonely, we couldn't go in the room mom didn't want to startle them...ONward with the hunt! We walked through so many aisles, looked at steps for my short legs, I got to smell all kinds of bones, chewies, clothes, toys, tried on a funny hat I didn't like so much then looked at birds and fish!! Even annoying crickets live there.It was so much fun to explore but then I saw a hooman with a white coat, they call a vet, he looked scary and I was glad I didn't have to visit him!We got me a new car seat and stuff I needed for my itchy skin and probiotics for my tummyMom says she gives 5 stars NOT ME...I'm giving 2 cause :I ⭐got to pee2⭐⭐ for my favorite duck treatsThanks!

Annaliese Willis: My partner and I have been exclusively shopping for pet supplies from Pet-Topia for a bit over 2 years now. When we first got our fur baby as a kitten two years ago we knew we wanted to give her the best an healthiest life we could, for us that started with her diet. I’ve heard night mares about certain pet food brands and the health issues linked to them and stores like Petco and Petsmart sold those brands along with a few ok and good ones based off of the research we had done. No employee at either of the stores previously mentioned could give us any suggestions on what food to start our cat on. We felt so frustrated that such major chains couldn’t provide a simple recommendation. We found Pet-Topia on accident just driving by it and I’m so glad we did. All the employees that we have interacted with have not only been friendly and kind every time we’ve come in but they also know their stuff. They were easily able to give us recommendations for food and every brand they carry is trustworthy and great for your animal. Our cat has never had a problem with the food they’ve recommended us and two years later she is as healthy as a 2 year old cat can be. We are also the owners of a boa constrictor and we love that we can pick up both of our animals food at once. While they don’t have a lot of products for snakes the rats they carry are awesome in our experience and our girl loved them. If you need a pet store to go to in the northland area of KC, I would only shop here.

Deana W: Pet-Topia has an excellent selection of tropical and saltwater fish. I was recently there and was amazed by the different fish they had. The associate told me the store had a low fish stock and would have a new shipment Friday, the next day. The prices are not cheap but are appropriate based on the quality of their fish. I didn't purchase any fish, but did buy a new female pet rat.

Steven Jones: I have been an aquarist for over forty years and I have seen it all in the hobby. This shop is the best shop in the four state area from KC, MO. north until Minnesota. I know there’s heated competition on the Kansas line so I’ll speak on what I do know. Walking into his shop recently to pick up a custom tank from Planet Aquariums I was floored by how nice his aquatics section was. We have to support our local shops at all cost. They are the lifeblood of the hobby. Petopia’s effort in maintaining an incredible looking shop has to be commended. To speak about the one star reviews I have to comment. In most if not all cases it was a lack of knowledge before they entered the store. Know the fish you’re buying and signs of disease before you go home and rip the shop. No shop is perfect and we must take a step back before complaining. I hope my hobby relationship with Petopia last for years to come.

Nerds Corp: I asked an older gentleman that worked there about the hill stream loaches that I had seen a Facebook post about and he got really upset and frustrated about me asking a simple question he said some rude remarks and told me “you young people know nothing about fish” and goes on to say something about a waiting list that doesn’t get followed and how people don’t realize how big some fish get and bring them back. After all this I will not be coming back and I’m going to recommend people to stay away.

Rachel Silkwood: By far one of my favorite places for fish! I signed up for the rewards and I also get text kessage updates on new arrivals and daily sales. The selection is always broad for freshwater and salt water fish. I'm patiently waiting for them to get upside down catfish again! All of the fish I have got here have been healthy and lively. Aside from the time I got some khuli loaches. They happened to pass away a day later.. assuming from a parasite; they spazed out and then died.. but, definitely recommend this shop to anyone in the aquatic hobby!

Cassi Verhelle: Not even 2 days after adding the fish to my tank, it has red bumps with white strings hanging from it. Come to find out, it was infected with hookworms and now my other fish (that I've had for more than 2 years with no problems) are infected. I called them and they said there's nothing they will do because I can't prove it came from the fish I got from them.

Grace Feng: Wow we were in the store for 25 minutes with no help. 3 people were trying to wrangle one fish from a big tank and q barely said hi when we walked in. After 10 minutes of no interaction I asked for help. They said they would be right with us. 15 minutes later still no one. We left very disappointed. Won’t be back.
Deana W: Picasso is a must-visit for all fish enthusiasts! The store is up-scale and carries both fresh and saltwater fish. The store also has axolotls from baby to full-grown. It’s Kansas City’s best aquarium around until the zoo’s aquarium opens.
Danielle Johansen: Really neat place to check out if you are an aquarium hobbiest. I only have freshwater so that's all I really paid attention to, but their selection of aquarium plants is what I like best. It's a decent selection of ludwigias, repens, a few anubias' and ferns, and others, along with a lot of tissue culture plants. They all look good quality and healthy (though they have a bit of algae, but that's too be expected when the lights are on all day for business) and I like that I don't have to worry about them dying in shipping like of I had bought them online. Not sure on the tissue culture plants but the stemmed plants were all a decent price for a good number of stems and there's even a buy three get one free deal. The freshwater fish looked healthy and there was an especially good selection of beautiful healthy Bettas. There neocaridina shrimp were pretty large and vibrant as well, and a bit less then I've seen in some shops. They've got axolotls too! Plenty of juveniles with good coloring and looked pretty healthy. Even if you aren't into the hobby it's worth coming in just to look at the beautiful freshwater setups. 🐠👍
Michael McWilliams: Store looks nice from the outside.. I’ve tried to go in twice now, both time they were closed with no online notices. I wouldn’t care that much if I hadn’t driven nearly 40 minutes both times from my aunts house. I’m visiting from Nebraska and wanted to visit some local fish stores. The first time, on Tuesday they had a sign saying they were closed just for that day. So I came back on Thursday, only to find a new sign saying they are only open on the weekend. Again I wouldn’t care if my drive wasn’t so long.. please update your hours online if you’re going to extend your closure more than a day or two.. thx :)

Kimberly Large: Highly disappointed considering the website. I have never seen as many sickly, belly sunken in fish in a "high end" store before. Aiptasia was everywhere, fish clearly had ich, and suspected several have flukes. Corals were nothing special and hard to see considering they're housed in a hot tub. Aiptasia was all over in the coral tank as well. The sad quality of the fish being sold will ensure that I will never return.
