Darin Ohern: I had a great experience here at Springfield MO 160 Driving Academy. Jory in the office explained thoroughly everything I needed to before I got started and was able to answer any questions I had without hesitation. When I got out to the training site I found comfort in the experience and ability of the instructors Tim and Stan. If you do want they ask of you and do it the way they ask of you there will be no reason you can't pass all three portions of the exam the first time (one and done). There are other schools to choose from and I did my do diligence in researching them all. At the end of the day I chose the best one. 160 Driving Academy there is absolutely no better Choice. I'm doing great out here in my new career thanks to these guys! 160 Driving Academy just do it!

Amanda Jackel: I started 160 driving academy at the end of November 202! I didn’t know anything about trucking really except it was a dream of mine, so I had to go for it. From the moment I walked in and met Jory I knew that I came to the right place! He was very friendly answered all my questions knew that I was nervous but comforted me and never made me feel like it was just because they wanted money. I spent a week with Jory and then went to the yard. I was even more nervous and questioning my choices to become a truck driver.however I expressed my fears and all of the driving instructors reassured me that I was going to learn and do great i trusted them and that’s exactly what happened! I got my license with one try and have my job and a brand new truck and I owe it all to the wonderful instructors at 160 in Springfield that made this all possible! john salisburg: Pros-few instructors were genuinely great; crystal, ruby, brad-you can practice pre-trip while on 1 hour lunch breakCons-they dont follow the curriculum that they advertised-the lead instructor displays favoritism and unprofessionalism; Alicia-few instructors, way too many students;-instructors are not on the same page at all about what and how to teach, lack of leadership training-with so many students and so little time, darryl does mandatory meetings for 2 hours everyday, and with the yard closing at 3:30....in total u only are near the trucks for less than 5 hours each day, even though school advertises as being open from 8-5pm-tons more...jeezafter going to another school that had good ratings, I saw that good schools have 1 instructor to 4 student ratio, the atmosphere is respectful and very professional starting from management down to instructors, and their reviews are consistently positive.its cause and effect, when u value u quantity, quality goes does down and u act out integrity and start being authoritarian.if they stuck to their curriculum and didn't take on more than they can handle, they wouldn't be so disorganized and could even charge more, and their reviews would reflect that.every student I spoke to even ones that passed complained about the structure and lack of standards, we are all stuck because we signed a contract, and just had to buckle down.

Darrel just rants and raves about everything from people not passing to low key belittling someone for failing likes to say things like I dont thibk you should be here but the owner overriden me and if it wasn't for that you wouldn't be here talks about kicking peeople out all the time he lectures for at least a hour everytime. I was trained by another student the first day I was there no trainer no one came out to explain the Pre -trip all they do is sit there in the office and let's 10 or 12 students in a truck by themselves learn a pre -trip . THIS place is terrible.

Dax Rogers: I attended a 1 week refresher course and although I didn't get the full experience I expected I still learned quite a bit and sharped my skills as a Truck Driver. The school has both Manual and Automatic trucks available to train on which is fantastic. The instructors are great and will work with you, if you fail to show your commitment and dedication then I'm sure this industry/school may not be for you. If I could change anything I would dedicate a separate learning course for those attending for a refresher, instead of tossing them into the current 3-4 week classes so there is no confusion, etc. Some days felt very unorganized. Also.. invest in a cooler of ice and bottled waters readily available, it's cheap and will go a LONG WAY! Keep truckin TDDA, I'll see y'all down the road when I pass through again.

Corbin Dallas: Do yourself a favor and avoid this establishment at all costs!There are some very good instructors Mike, John, Ruby and Darrel that truly have a passion to teach drivers the proper way to conduct pretrips, proper backing maneuvers and lastly safety to obtain your CDL.But.. there is 1 instructor named Scott who will RUIN everything for you and any sense of direction you may have or thought you had will be at question. This man is a nightmare to work with and I strongly encourage TDDA to remove him from training or you will continue to see a domino affect of drivers who despise this program due to 1 man's actions. I witnessed disastrous training methods and absolute heinous acts from Scott that left me and others second guessing our need to being at TDDA. I would never recommend others to join this program for as long as Scott continues to train.This could be a 5/5 star review but it's a 1/5 due to Scott.

Anthony Hemphill: I drove from 1988 to 2010. I decided that I wanted to drive again and so many things have changed. Won't lie was pretty nervous with all the new rules. I got to Truck Dynasty on a Monday and everyone one here made me feel comfortable and less nervous. The trainers are exceptionally great people. They work with you and if you pay attention you will get your CDL'S. The office staff too are great people. The day I passed my test the owner tells me congratulations and shakes my hand. I would recommend coming to this school. Again all I have to say about these people is nothing but good.

Cowboy 145: Came here to start a career, and waisted $600 ill never get back thanks to TDDAWas cut from the CDL program after Day 3 because I was overweight, ask if I could finish the program (because I was understanding and getting everything down first try on the practice pad) and pay out on the signed contract, was told it wasn't an option, gave up everything to come down from Iowa...I was told by the guys further along in the course that everything on the test pad was narrower that the practice pad, if you come here for CFI don't expect to be trained on the equipment your actually going to be using, letting you use junk trucks with half the doors and grab arms broken off on the inside...And let's not forget when you are "allowed" into the CFI trucks the throttle control is completely messed up, no one truck is alike. There were 4 CFI trucks when i was there 1 was in the shop, another the throttle was set so you wouldn't have and acceleration until foot was against the floor, another had a coolant leak...And before I forget I came here and so did another student who we both planned to pass without automatic restrictions and were both told we needed to pay extra for this...

katieintheozarks: My 19-year-old daughter had ordered a brand new mini Cooper which was soon to arrive in St Louis but she didn't yet have her driver's license. We practiced but I was nervous and we didn't practice enough. She tested once in downtown Springfield and failed so we called Bill at Springfield driving School and they were able to get us in quickly since we had A deadline with the new car coming in.My daughter took 4 hours of lessons over the course of several days and her confidence increased significantly. On the day of the test Bill took her downtown and ran through the course so she would be prepared and confident. My daughter passed the test with flying colors and the next day we went to St Louis to pick up her new car.Side note: Bill has a dash cam that faces out toward traffic and one that faces in toward himself and the driver. Allowing my daughter to ride in a car with someone we don't know maybe nervous but Bill is one of the least intimidating people on the planet.

Driving is an activity that the majority of people will use every day once reaching the legal driving age. It is also one of the most dangerous and expensive activities that we do. I wanted James and me to give our daughter the best training possible; just as we have tried to give her in other areas of her life; such as, academics and sports. By the the grace of God my Google search found Springfield Driving School with Mr. Bill Nelson. We had the most wonderful experience with Mr. Nelson and Zoë found him to be very calm and kind while articulating very clear and valuable instructions. After each lesson, he went over with us what she had completed during the lesson, how she did and what to expect at the next lesson. If you are looking for extra training for your teen or even yourself, we highly recommend Mr. Nelson’s driving school. As parents we feel that he has provided our daughter with the driving skills that she needs in order to correctly operate a vehicle and to be a more responsible driver. We want to thank him for such a wonderful experience.

The six hours of hands-on driving lessons taught me things that I was never even taught as a teenager, especially since my high school didn't offer driver's education. I decided to give it another try with Capitol and I will say you will not be disappointed. I trained with Merle in Willow Springs and he was fantastic. He wants you to succeed and is not there to just collect a paycheck. The staff at the test site were excellent as well. Although Ron prepared me well for the test, he also made me feel confident about driving in various environments- city, inter-state, highway and woods. The school also offers 1.5 hours behind the wheel for a lesson, which I believe is the right amount of time. I would highly recommend this school!
