Melissa Burandt: Been with this company since 2018. They have been amazing. Anytime I have a maintenance request, they are on it. They were and are understanding lovely people. My interactions with them have always been very pleasant. I recommend them to anyone I know that is looking for a place. My kids and I love our home. ❤️
Victoria McGath: About a month or two ago my boyfriend and I put in our applications as well as the fee for the property we were looking at. we were in contact with them and were told we were the first or second in line. they told us we would need a co-signer so a third application + fee was paid. The day of the tour I was scheduled for was cancelled and then later that day they told me we were denied. I called and asked them for a reason and the lady said to send an email. I did and no response was given. I called again the next day and she gave me the same answer. So I sent another email to which no response was given. I paid over a hundred dollars, was given poor communication, and never got a response from my calls or emails.

Alexis Jones: The only issue we had is the fact that they didn’t give us any of our deposit back. They charged us $150 for a cleaning fee when our apartment was spotless when we left (see attached photos). Then they charged us $109 for a new garbage disposal when we had issue with the garbage disposal when we first moved in. We notified them about it and they came out to “fix it” but it wasn’t actually fixed. Other than that, no issues except for extremely loud neighbors from the apartment below us. Intentional stomping, banging, SUPER LOUD TV, kids skateboarding, etc. at all hours of the night. Notified management but nothing was done.

Hailey Michelle: I’ve lived here for 3 months now. I haven’t had any problems. The management was super friendly when I met them and the one maintenance request I had was taken care of the same day! The portal online is super easy to use for tenants to pay rent. Internet was already set up, just needed a router to plug in. I haven’t had any issues with noises or obnoxious dogs etc. Highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a nice place to live.

Amanda Shields: Edit: Initially I left a scathing review of this company, but I feel credit should be given where credit is due. While my property had some serious issues including leaks, roaches, and broken fixtures. At Home has had wonderful customer service in regard to answering and fufilling my maintenance requests. Should these issues have been there prior to move in? No. However, it is because of the terrific work of their maintence director that I have not broken my lease. She is very quick to answer and is very kind and helpful. The same cannot be said of Robin. I would not recommend speaking to or working with her as she is very unprofessional and SO rude. If you decide to work with At Home, make sure to be very thorough when doing walk-throughs and steer clear or Robin!

Lindsey Lewis: At home has always been responsive to our maintenance issues, as soon as we put one in someone is there the next day. All of the women in the office are very friendly. We also had a situation where we weren’t intending to move at all but a place popped up and we jumped on it only to find out it had safety issues and did not want to move our son to that environment, I was also diagnosed with cancer during this time at a young age and we had to retract our 30 day notice and at home really worked with us and helped us out and even kept us at our same rate. Nothing but positive things to say about them!

After we moved out of the house, they sent us a letter saying they were taking our entire deposit and also demanding that we pay $2,000 for a new carpet. They wrote that we had ruined the carpet very much and they were forced to replace it. We had all the photos before entering and after leaving, apparently they did not know about it. And when we sent them our photos and said that we would not pay, because the carpet was in the same condition as it was when we moved in. After 2 days they sent us a letter that we do not need to pay $ 2000 and return part of the deposit.

Laya Darville: I would recommend checking the house/apartment you're interested in before moving. I've had a lot of problems with the house I'm currently in but At Home has done pretty well at fixing those problems as soon as they get the request and the people they send are usually very nice and will explain everything that they were working on. If everything keeps going smoothly I would like to continue working with At Home in the future.

Because apparently school money isn't good money. I was told I would have to have a co-signer or an entire year's worth of rent. I was also told that my award letter for school doesn't count as "consistent" income. I have the necessary money to pay for an entire year. But I wouldn't do that for these folks. It's much the same way as saying we need you to make the "proper" income (Which i do) but oh wait... that money is no good here it comes from a SCHOOL with the entire purpose of its use is to pay rent and living expenses while in school.Response to their review: You are correct their are criteria that need to be met, however a responsible adult with proven record of attending classes is guaranteed funding. These funds are used exactly for that reason to pay rent, and living expenses. The problem I have with your review here, is that you make yourself sound more concerned with money. Than you do with people. Which is fine as a business that makes money. But it just further reinforces me not wanting to pay your "revised" option. You offered me two options. Both which you knew in the conversation was not going to work for me. Option 1. Have a co-signer with income that you could verify, with good credit. So that you would have an avenue to seek reparations in the event you assume I wouldn't pay. Option 2. Pay for an entire year up front. While I could have done this. I wouldn't do this for a company more concerned with their bottom line than the good people applying to live there. Like I said. It's your preference to be a "business". And before you do say it. I know its very clear you aren't a charity. As that would logically be a response from a business perspective, and from someone who doesn't deal in feelings. Rather cold hard cash. Have to be about that money dontcha?

Grace Moore: I had nothing bad experiences from the two times I rented from At Home.Starting off on a bad foot, when we started renting from them 5 years ago, they tried to bribe us with smoothie coupons in order to get a good Google review. Not only is that a red flag by itself, but the coupons were expired.They do not fill their maintenance requests. I had a fire extinguisher completely dead and submitted a request for them to recharge it. Instead of doing so, they marked it as "complete" through their web portal. My stove and oven each lit on fire twice in that time frame.If you call them, it's extremely difficult to get in touch with anyone. You will sit on hold, and literally every 30 seconds, you will have to press 1 just to stay on hold. And when you do finally get a hold of someone, they are always incredibly rude. If you really need to talk to anyone, you have to go to their unmaintained office building.

Phyllis Julien: I’ve had nothing but a great experience with At Home. The duplex I rent is much larger than I need but the price was right so I rented it. They maintain the lawn without ever having to be reminded & the yard always looks great. If anything is ask of them they get back to you immediately & I have a small dog which has never been an issue. They have an automatic payment so you need never worry about a payment being late either & that works well for me.

Hope for today Generation: One of the best management and ownership rental properties. Out of any place my wife and I have rented from.Those who rent from Northern Air, stay at these rentals for years. It’s truly a rare find these apartments and duplex’s. I highly recommend them!!!
Lorraine Henry: Very friendly and professional management. Easy online application process and tenant portal available 24/7. Reasonable application fee. Option for 6 or 12 month leases, then mtm. Somewhat older buildings with outdated appliances. Apts are fairly decent size for small 1 bedrooms, rent very reasonable. HUD friendly. Supportive of Veterans. Assigned parking spots, but virtually no parking for visitors. No pets allowed. Quick to respond to maintenance requests. So far only downfalls are: it is VERY difficult to move furniture from the parking lot into the Apts, people from nearby apt buildings use this property's grassy area to toilet their dogs, the bass of neighbors' tvs vibrate thru the walls and ceiling, and the footsteps of those living above sound like elephants stomping across the ceiling.

Kimberly Soriano: Was quick and easy to schedule showing. Approval process was quick turn around. Toby was very nice and so easy to work with. Busy guy so sometimes hard to get a hold of but be patient and he will get back with you!
Michael Jakes: My family and I lived in the same home for 7 years and leased our home with Brax. They were a fantastic organization to do business with. The understand situations that come up, they are caring and most of all they treat you with respect. We had to leave suddenly due to my grandfathers illness and they were so accommodating with my situation. Old Alex Cool: Had plans to view a property for over a month and they canceled the night before having leased it out to another tenant before even showing us or letting us know that someone else would be looking at it. We had been lead to believe that we would be getting first showing of the property after the previous tenant was evicted. Poor communication and all from a company that could have caused issues with our housing situation had we not had a plan for it.
Matthew Cockrum: I've had a relationship with Brax for roughly 10 years. I started using them when I was unable to sell my home. My first tenant was not great but you're going to run to that no matter who you have. After that they taken great care to get me great tenants and I've had very little issues with them. From the homeowner standpoint it's been as easy as receiving a check in the mail each month and having and having very little to do with the actual tenants. If the tenants alerted them to a problem they were texting me immediately to get it resolved.

Dj jenner: I will NEVER work with or recommend this company again! Brax managed my property for a few years-it was absolutely impossible to get in contact with them! They didn’t answer their phones, or emails. They never returned phone calls. The last tenants we had in our home were allowed to pay rent later and later each month. Turns out they had let someone else live with them (not on the lease agreement) and they caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to our property. This could have been handled if only Brax had done check ups and inspections on the property as stated in the lease. The tenants also took the utilities out of their name leaving us with the bill...all things that Brax was supposed to be checking on and informing us of. We have wasted time with this company and have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on problems that should never have occurred....if only they had actually done their job. DO NOT work with this company! If you are a property owner, do not trust this company with your property! If you are a tenant, do not work with them as they will not communicate and work with you!
Godfrey Life: I would not want this company managing my property as a owner or tenant. They do not answer their phone regardless of the time of day I call. They do not return calls after several voicemails left. If they don’t answer the phone to rent houses why would I believe they’ll answer the phone after I am in a house. 2+ star rating speaks volumes. I am going to save myself the trouble and just find another rental/management co. I would have left them no stars because I have literally gotten no response from them but google gives at least one for having a phone number I guess.
A: Just looked at the property and was met with a very rude lady who didn’t want to show me around the house and I had to ask her to. My husband and I were interested in this house and have all of the requirements and good past renting history, but I have never seen such unprofessionalism.

Nic L: Absolutely impossible to reach anyone at Brax. This isn’t anything new, foolishly we’ve dealt with this for years now as a tenant since late 2014 to now (July 2019). We’ve been awaiting their response on an option to terminate our lease early (yes, I’m that level of fool to still have a lease almost 5 years in). We could just pay their ridiculous fee equal to 2 months rent and give 60 days notice but our lease is up at the end of November so that seems pointless and we’re then liable for utilities until they find a tenant (doubtful if they don’t answer calls/emails).I feel for the property owner. Mid-summer is prime rental time to have a home on the market and the Bent Tree community we live in is pretty hot. Why they want to wait until between the holidays is beyond me. They could negotiate a deal with us that’s mutually beneficial, let us out pending releasing the home to someone else and have little gap as well as adjust the rent to market rate which is higher now due to supply/demand.What I question is whether the property owner even is aware of our goal and how it might benefit them. I doubt it.Really surprised these yay-hoos have stayed in business. Seems pretty shady.
Jenny Stevens: 5/5 stars! I have been through the full cycle with Brax & I wanted to wait until I had been before I left a review.My husband & I were moving back down to this area from 3 hours away. We fell in love with a property that we saw online that Brax was managing. They were extremely accommodating with scheduling a showing on a Saturday. The lease, deposit, payments and everything is done online, which is a bonus. We had no issues holding the house and signing the lease. All of the questions we had were answered extremely quickly. We picked up the keys on a Friday and moved in. The house we loved/moved in was up for sale (which we were well aware of before we signed the lease). About a month after we moved in, the owner sold the home and we had to move. Brax was so helpful in getting us another property. We are now in a house that we love even more (with a year lease). The move in procedure was the exact same and went off without a hitch. We followed the move out checklist and did not have any problems with the previous house.I put in a maintenance request on Monday afternoon about our laundry room water line and seriously within 5 minutes, I had a text saying that they had contacted the owner of the home and someone would be reaching out to us to come over to do the repair. Within 20 minutes, the repair person called us and came over to fix the issue. I haven't had maintenance respond that fast even when I lived in an apartment complex with maintenance on site.Like many people, we looked at the reviews on Facebook & Google before choosing a property management company, but I really can't say enough positive things about this company. I would rent from them over & over again. I have dealt with some real doozies when it comes to leasing/property management companies & Brax puts them all to shame! Keep up the great work, Brax and thank you all again!

Bailey Strohl: I am sharing my experience a year later because I’m still upset about it. My friends and I rented a 4 bedroom house near Mt Vernon and Grant in Springfield. The company never answered the phone. Upon move out, I called and was told someone would call me back to set up a walkthrough. I never got a call, so I moved out the last day of our lease, leaving the house completely spotless, minus a couple of things my roommates had left. (Made the mistake of not taking pictures of it empty and clean) I’m assuming the company never went and checked on the house because squatters moved in and completely trashed it. We lost all of our deposit due to their lack of care for the property. We tried to communicate with them, but had little proof and there was no getting through their heads they failed to do their side of the work when a tenant moves out.

Karen: Totally unprofessional. I set up two viewings for one of their properties. The first one was cancelled the day before in an email filled with grammatical errors and with no attempt to reschedule. I attempted to reschedule on my own, and a time and date was set up. I arrived at the location, after taking time off of work to do so, waited around for 15 minutes, and no one showed up. I called to find out what was going on and was told that because of a “computer glitch,” there was no record of my appointment. Waited another 5 minutes on hold only to be told that I would have to wait yet another 15 minutes for someone to show up and do the showing. Obviously, I told them to forget the whole thing as this was the second time this happened and I had to go back to work. The person on the other end of the phone laughed and hung up on me. I guess I dodged a bullet - but it’s still too bad because this property was exactly what I was looking for!

Emily Adams: HPM took over management of a building I had been living in for several years. I did not choose to rent from them, and based on my experience with their management, I do not recommend them. Maintenance gives a week long window of days they "might" come by to do things like air filter changes. Pets are expected to be put away during this time, which is a challenge if you don't know what day they're coming. This happened multiple times. Please be aware of this if you are a pet owner and no one will be home during the work day, which is the only time maintenance comes. My biggest complaint, however, was this: I went to drop off my keys at the leasing office on the final day of my lease, as I was instructed to do. Because I do work a job with normal workday hours, I arrived at the office 5-10 minutes before closing time, which I was told was 4:30. There was another car in the parking lot, which I assume belonged to an employee. It is written on the door that visitors are to knock or call if no one answers. I tried both, multiple times, all before 4:30. I then waited in my car until 4:40. At that point, I pulled around the building to see if there was a drop box specifically for keys, which there was not. When I pulled back around to the front of the building, the other car was gone. I can only assume that the employee waited on me to leave before getting into their car. If the office stops serving tenants at a time before 4:30, it would be courteous to communicate that instead of ignoring visitors. I then had to go home (Ozark) to retrieve an envelope so that I could leave the keys in the mail box intended for rent. This was particularly frustrating because I was there within work day hours. Even if the employee present could not take my keys, they could have communicated what step I needed to take to return my keys on time before leaving for the day. If the office actually closes before 4:30, hours listed online should reflect that. Overall, I found HPM a frustrating company to work with.Additionally, HPM began charging an additional $45 a month for water during my time with them. They did communicate this with tenants at least one month prior.Positive experiences:-My one maintenance issue (broken mailbox) was fixed promptly. However, there was no communication that maintenance was coming at all that day, so it was a surprise.-Jessica is genuinely helpful and easy to communicate with. Overall, communication from the company was positive.
Vicki Sanders: Jessica is wonderful! She helped me find a home so I could move in quickly as I was trying to get to Springfield to take care of my elderly parents. It had been difficult and frustrating. She listened to me and made things happen. I appreciate all she did for me!

Hunter Properties has done everything possible to make our transition from AtHome to Hunter as easy as possible. We are in love with the property we have selected, and would also like to say thank you to Jessica for everything she has done to make sure Alysyn and I are happy with our property. We now have a place we can call home and raise our little daughter in a much more safe environment.

Tristan Sajona: Jessica was absolutely amazing!!!My partner and I have been scrambling trying to find a new home to live in, with failed multiple attempts, Jessica sent me an email to let me know at one point that I was declined and she refunded my application fee, I checked their website a few days sent her an email asking how many applications they had received on the home, she advised that none had came in we applied, I get paid in a non traditional style so there isn't any way of proving ALL of my income, and that wasn't a problem I sent my W2 from a previous employer as well as a few bank statements, Jessica was extremely patient during the application process this go around with me including the animal and pet screening application. As soon as the information was submitted she actually performed the credit check and the background checks necessary to move to the next steps, I think she could tell that I was a little bit stressed out to say the least but she handled it beautifully she deserves a raise. Thank you so much Jessica for giving us an opportunity to stay with Hunter property Management.

Steve Duffy: Hunter Property Management is unlike any business I’ve encountered. They accused me of making threats. I made no threats. They claim I have been evicted several times (when I have never been evicted). They claim I am on house arrest! I have never been on house arrest. I have absolutely NO criminal record. I can prove everything here that I claim is untrue to be 100% untrue. They claimed also that my credit score unqualified me. This is not possible. I can back up everything. Absolutely a ridiculously bad experience. Can’t figure out if I was mistaken for another, or if they just didn’t like me! Bizarre situation!
