Teresa Thompson: Paid $12,000 for a canopy (they required me to put a $6,000 down payment in Feb 2021) and they didn't start working on it until Oct 2021. They tore off the roof overhang, (see pictures), and then didn't come back for 7 days. It rained and since the plastic was put up shoddily, it leaked into our ceiling (see pics) . Our ceiling was soaked and the rain also ruined our drywall (but it took a few months for that damage to become evident)! One of the workers was acting erratic and when he started talking to me I smelled alcohol. The next day I found out he fell off the ladder and broke my plants and planters (see pics) This spring when my husband and I were cleaning under our deck, I found empty alcohol containers! This cemented my suspicion that this worker was drinking alcohol while sawing the roof off my house!!I talked to the managers of Modern Exteriors and when I asked if they would reduce the price of the canopy because if the damage to our ceiling, they refused, and all they did to "fix" the soaked/stained ceiling was to spray paint it with Kilz. I was very disappointed with the experience I had working with Modern Exteriors.

Rick Ayers: Overall a very positive experienceThey were to replace a screen room with a 3seasons room and a pavilion attached to that.John Cook was a pleasure to work with, no pressure, he was honest about the long lead times because of Covid.The only issue was a cement pad for the pavilion. They contracted that out to Jeramy Butts who did a horrible job. The quality was terrible, did not pour correct amount for the pad. Then he never showed up to finish the job. He no longer works for them.Dough Posey made it right by sending Russ to the rescue. Russ corrected everything, and it looked great when he was done.January 2020 - Russ Harig and Will started on the 3 seasons room - and I must say that Russ did such a great job! It looks fantastic. Better then expected, and the quality of material is excellent.Russ communicated everything along the way, had great insight as to the best way to do everything including electrical. He is professional, courteous and efficient.Plus, they cleaned up so well we never knew they were here.Still waiting on materials for the pavilion but after our experience with the glassed room, I am looking forward for Russ to get started.I would strongly recommend Russ, Doug and Megan from Modern Exterior.I would give 5 stars if communication was better.

Steve Capps: I had a sunroom installed approximately 3 years ago by Modern Exteriors and I am extremely happy with their work ethic and the product. Recently, I had them install a heating and air unit as well as a doggie door in that sunroom. The heating and air unit took a while to get here due to manufacturing delays, however, Megan Allen was very diligent in keeping in contact with me on a consistent basis. When the unit arrived, John was amazing with the installation process of the heating and air unit and the doggie door. Thank you John and Megan! I highly recommend Modern Exterior. Steve

It took six months to receive the materials, however, that was due to covid and supply chain issues and not a reflection of the company . When the materials arrived, they contacted me and started working immediately. The cover was installed by a gentleman named Russ. Russ was thorough, courteous and very good at his job. The finished product looks great and Russ cleaned up the area of all debris and leftover materials. I Recommend Modern Exteriors and would not hesitate to use them again.

Ann Steinberg: This is a company with which I have done business In the past – siding-soffit etcI asked about their ad In the paper and was asked what I wanted to have done I was looking for an extensive change to my sunroom deck and roof overhang and was told “we don’t do repairs” I explained that this was much more than a repair and could I have someone come out to give me an estimate The person said “we are promising 8 months out o new builds and don’t do repairs”This person was rude – ignorant (obviously not able to understand over the phone what my request was about) and obviously empowered by the amount of business that they now have I hope they realize that some people are long time residents of Springfield and when the boom goes back to normal they will be looking for business from us long-timersI certainly will remember the way I was treated

Presumably scoping out our property to make sure we could afford their services (?) We had $5k allocated for repairs to our home. They will get none of it for now and ever. Don't waste time unless you live in a nicer home or neighborhood. Our house is very nice btw. At least I thought so.

Dean T: We are very happy with out new deck conceived and constructed by Chris and his team. It took a while from conception to completion, but this was due in part to the scope of the project and waiting on delivery of replacement doors. Our previous deck was 16 years old and falling apart. We replaced it with composite decking and had them built an extension of our roof to cover it. We went beyond our original plan and had the patio beneath the deck screened in. Kyle was the point man on site for our project. His communication was excellent, at the beginning and end of each day that the team worked. He communicated with me very well for other things, such as getting answers from other subcontractors or the home office. His responses were always within a day, usually that day itself, and often within the hour. Along with communication, he was patient with all my questions or concerns. Eli always had a smile on his face and came through with a creative way to fix some ruts left in my lawn from multiple supply deliveries to our back yard. Jordan replaced our doors and was a joy to have around. All three of these, along with everyone else we encountered, were professional, and their work was good. Chris was always available by email and phone, but most of our communicationi was through Kyle when the work started. Matt Yendes: Chris and his team did an excellent job adding to and replacing our deck/patio. They tied the covered roof into the existing house making a seamless transition and overall improving the space dramatically. They were easy to work with, responsive to any questions, and seemed to really care about their customer experience. The job was completed in a timely manner and they kept the work area clean and tidy. I am overall pleased in the quality of work and feel I received a good value for the money spent. Matthew Brown: Chris is great but I am still waiting for he or his guys to come out and caulk the inside of my windows which should have been done last spring when they were installed. Big gaps inside and air and bugs getting through. Called a month ago and still waiting...After posting this Chris called the next morning and corrected the error. That was a Class act....or Classic!

Not only did they start and complete the project well ahead of schedule, their bid came in lower than any of the competition and the quality of their work exceeded expectations.
