Friends Of-Family Pet Memorial: what do users think?
Debbie Church: I’ve used their services many times. Their so kind and respectful! They are very kind and heart felt. They make the redaspu heartbreaking process more bearable!Highly recommend!!!!!!
Michelle Cardwell l: My son lost his beloved hedgehog. It was hard for him and even harder for me. During this sad tone they did very patiently help me and ordered the perfect urn for my baby and made the most beautiful heart shaped memorial plate for him. My heart still hurts but these guys take the best care of their grieving customers.
Michael White: They were very respectful very helpful and sincerely empathetic about lost my pet
Carvel Wisenbaker: Very respectful and honest people!!! We have used them for our dogs several times. They're very stright forward with their prices.
Raven Shadows: If I could give them 10 stars I would. They were super sweet and sympathetic. Never called her it or her ashes as if she was just an object and not our pet. The box is beautiful and has a very sweet message attached to it. When they called to say she was ready they said "she is ready to come home". That meant the world to me.
Amber Percival: Couldn't have asked for better when dealing with the loss of my kitty. Absolutely beautiful box with my baby's name. An issue with my vet cause me to need a new name plate and I called them and had absolutely no issues and could pick up the new name plate the next morning. They made this difficult process just a tad more bearable by being such an amazing place with great people who care.
CopperAngel 1980: I've now had both of my kitty babies creamated here and both times they have done such an amazing job. My 23 year old was run over and they stayed past closing so I could bring her in. They go above and beyond for their customer, the boxes they give you to hold your fur baby are beautiful and they always make sure to add a special touch with a condolences card. I love this company so much and the team that work there
Beverly Markham: During this darkest time the Friends of Family Pet Memorial expressed the compassion and understanding that I needed at that time. The service they provided for my kitty's cremation was outstanding. But what really stood out was the deep caring and emotional support they provided at this very difficult time. Thank you so much friends of family you are very highly recommended.
Maricela Rodriguez Nava: Lovely and professional attention! Handled my baby with care and took care for her.
Trinity Armstrong: My mom's dog passed away a week ago today and throughout the whole process we talked and dealt with kevin, he was professional and sincere the whole time. I also bought some necklaces to put some of the ashes in and he put the ashes in for us at no extra charge. I highly recommend this place and plan on using it when the time comes for my dog too.
Rebekah Armstrong: Based soley on my initial phone conversation with Kevin, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND these folks to anyone in need of their services! You can tell that they're not out to make a buck off your grief. They really care!
Epic Thompson Life: We lost our beloved pup 6 months ago. When her remains were returned, the box was different than all of the other boxes from our other pets. I have a shelf with the pictures and boxes of all our pets over the years, so this box looked out of place. I called to inquire about getting a matching box, and was told the company started charging too much so they changed companies. When I asked for the name of the original company he flat out refused to give it to me. I have no choice but to use them since they are the only pet cremation place in the area, but I don't recommend them.
Tina Freeman: My son took my fur baby to them and in a few days I got my puppy back in a Beautiful wood box with her Name on it and a Sweet Sympathy Card.. Thanks for giving my puppy a Beautiful resting place... Thanks for showing care for my fur baby..
T Leep: I'm Troy Pittman. I just lost my cat, Tiger on 6/29/2021. He was around 20 to 21 years old. He was in doors always & means the absolute world to me. I can't stress that enough. I chose Friends Of The Family to cremate him. Doug and the others there have always treated me well and have used great care with my pets cremation. I know they are professional. Tiger will be the 13th pet, off the top of my head, that they have cremated for me. They always were returned in good time and in a nice little box and name with their ashes. Doug & I attended the same Highschool so, I know he's a good guy.
MC MC: These guys were awesome and very empathetic.
Kris Sims: My heart is heavy with grief, but I am so grateful for Kevin and all who are a part of this wonderfully caring place.
Maranda Nickels: Most definitely would recommend this business to anyone who wants to give their fur baby the best of the best!!!! The staff is very careing and patient! Great customer service! Thank you for helping our Brownie Rest in Peace in the best!!! ☺️
Countess Nikki: We had to put my poor old cat to sleep at the emergency vet last week and I wanted to have her cremated like we did her sister that we lost 2 years ago. I wasn’t coping well those first few days, not sleeping much, really heartbroken- I kept having thoughts of “what if her body gets lost, what if I never get her back” (i know, irrational, but your brain doesn’t work right when you’re grieving.) I called the number I could find for Friends of the Family since the emergency vet said that’s who does the cremations for them, and I left a message. Kevin called me back and was very very nice, reassured me that everything was fine, and told me when to expect her ashes to be returned to the emergency vet for pick up. I was able to pick her up that night. Beautiful box. Thank you for your compassion and helping my heart heal by being able to bring her home.
robert Spradlin: We had a puppy that passed. My 12 year old daughter was very close to the dog. They were very nice and sympathetic to her. Thank you so much.
Angela Copley: I wish I could give this company and the gentlemen that work there more then 5 stars. My baby Kasper passed peacefully and they made the process of caring for his remains so much easier. The handcrafted box urn is simply breathtaking and I am so happy to display my baby.
Regina Johnson: I had my 18 1/2 year old cat put to sleep at my vet on Saturday morning. I knew I wanted her cremated so I talked to Kevin and made arrangements with him to meet him at the cemetery before they left. He and Burt (sp?) were both there and let me cry over her for little bit before I let her go. I was so touched by their kindness. I can't wait to get her back home in her little box.

Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, LLC: what do users think?
EXO Harbringer: My Mother passed away. Midwest was the cheapest option around but the service and kindness showed by Missy was like I paid too dollar. Not once did I feel bad for asking questions or was I kept out of the loop. Missy always knew exactly who I was over the phone and was always ready to help. This place is by far the most humane place I encountered. I would recommend this to everyone whether you are struggling financially or not. Thank you and God bless to everyone there.
Jo Pinkie Poodles: Most caring loving people you’ll ever get to take care of your loved ones. They did my father my brother my father n law and will be doing my mother n law. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Randall Walker: Midwest Funeral Services helped me out in the hardest time, losing my dad wasn't easy to handle but Missy and everyone else was there to help us, the compassion and empathy that was shown was top notch and they made dad look very handsome, thank you Missy for all your help, I never forget it
This Bagadonuts G: Very warm and helpful folks in the hardest times, wonderful value, and compassion that was unmatched
Miriam Durnell: Very professional! From the moment they came to the house to pick up my father, to providing a photographed copy of the flower list after the services, they proved themselves to be genuinely caring people.
Nathan McClellan: Missy and the staff at Midwest Cremation were amazing. My mother passed unexpectedly, and I have had zero experience with this. Add to that being an only child and I was lost on what to do and how to proceed. Midwest Cremation helped me through every step and answered any question I could think of. Not only was the service incredible but the cost was very affordable for the services provided.
Janet Thompson: Midwest was there for us when we lost each of our grandparents and then again when we lost our mom and now with the loss our dad. Each time the love and care they give has been wonderful! I just wish they would change their name to Midwest Funeral Services and Cremation as we always have funeral services with viewings there followed by a graveside service. Midwest gets our 5-star rating!!!
Lenette Hall: Wonderful people, caring, and compassionate. We always refer Springfield families to Midwest Cremation because the team and service is stellar and prices are fair.
Bonnie Wilson: I don’t have one bad thing to say about this place or the staff. I had a rather messy situation when it came to other family members Cooperating after my dad passed away. Missy and her team are amazing. Missy is very down to earth Sympathetic and professional all rolled into one. I was able to talk to her like she was one of my friends. She has went above and beyond while dealing with a rather difficult family. I appreciate all of her hard work. I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a place that is Sympathetic, patient and understanding. This place and staff deserve 10 stars!
Katie Russell: When my mother passed it was literally a last minute change on where she was going, I was very nervous but satisfied. My mother passed 2 days before my brother's 28th birthday. I met with Ron the day she passed and I asked if it would be possible to get her home for his birthday. He didn't make any promises but he said he would try. We he did, I was able to bring my Mama home on my brother's birthday and my family are forever grateful.I had also never dealt with this stuff and they all have done wonderful helping me figure everything out.
Linda Falk: They were so kind and compassionate in helping us through our loss and working through all of the details that come with losing someone you love. Wonderful people and definitely, I would recommend them.
Chris Crenshaw: Missy and the team were amazing. My dad lived and hr our of Springfield, but they still were willing to handle everything. They handled everything plus more! Midwest Cremation prices are the cheapest we found, and we called 8 other Funeral homes. Once my dad went into hospice he declined rapidly, and he didn’t have any life insurance or anything set up to bury him. We were able to pay for everything out of pocket because of how affordable they were. I’m thankful for Missy and the Midwest Cremation Crew for all you did for me and my family this past week!
74alynne lynne: My sister and I were clueless on so much regarding my fathers death. Missy and her father held our hands through the most difficult time of our lives. My father was scattered on a lake with military honors with the help of Missy. Thank you to both of you and God bless you both!
Pamela Litke: Missy and the staff here handled everything from the moment they were contacted. They were professional but not overbearing. Took care of my every need, even things I didn’t know that had to be done, quickly and expertly. I never had a doubt that I choose the right place
Brenda Carter: Things were going smoothly until I went to pick up my mother's ashes. Then the creepy old guy at the funeral home coughed on me! We were both wearing masks, but I could feel the force of his cough from across the table! I bathed in hand sanitizer, and went home and took a shower. YOU DON'T GET TO COUGH ON PEOPLE JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE WEARING A MASK!
James Updike: Great personal and service, treated my brother n law with respect and helped us thru a trying time.
iwantaction1: Super nice people willing to go the extra mile for you without hurting your pocket book. Easiest 5 star rating ever, 5 stars isn't good enough of a rating for these wonderful people!
Tracey Brown: I have already recommended Midwest to my family members, and if I live in this area when my time comes, I would be honored for them to care for my remains. The service and compassion we experienced at the recent passing of my mother-in-law was excellent. Thank you to Missy, for her care for our family.
David Rapelje: My family friend of 30 plus years who was like a 2nd father to me past recently. From the initial phone call I knew I had the right place. Both Ron Blackwell & his Daughter Missy were exemplary in every essence of the word! The death of a loved one is hard enough to contend with. Their compassion, understanding and help made a difficult time less burdensome.
Lindalonsford Lonsford: Great people and will help the family with all their needs thank you all for what you all done for my husband when you all had him mother Joyce reed. All great with us.
Jerry Stewart: Ron and Missy are very ethical, compassionate and helpful. Ron listens to your needs and will not try to upgrade you (very refreshing these days). My mother's passing was my second opportunity to deal with Ron. I have absolutely no reservations about recommending them. I have already instructed my boys to go see Ron and Missy when my time comes. 😋

Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. Degraffenreid-Wood-Crematory: what do users think?
Erin Bloom: This facility is run in complete disorganization. For a business that is operated by people in anguish they come across as unsympathetic and cold hearted. I would wish that no one would have such an experience during a loss. It is my impression they feel as though they could care less if your business was taken elsewhere you are just another number on any other ordinary day. This has show to be true on both occasions.
Melanie Taylor: Walnut Lawn Funeral Home was such a blessing in planning our dad's funeral. They made my dad look better then his last days and that really helped as we had an open casket viewing. Thanks to the owner and their employees for handling the planning with dignity and kindness duringThis difficult time. If your loved one is a veteran you will especially love how they've organized the Freedom Riders Group to lead the way in the processional to the veterans cemetery. It was a very special experience.
Countess Nikki: I just wanted to say how thankful I am for Walnut Lawn Funeral Home. Melissa and Sheila- they are so amazing. We were treated with kindness, compassion, patience, and understanding as they helped us navigate this horrible loss. They went out of their way to help us with every little detail. I just can’t say it enough how much I appreciate them both. This is our second time working with Walnut Lawn, the first time was for my father 17 years ago, and I’m so thankful we were able to go through them again for my nephew. I hope we never have to deal with another loss but if we do we will always choose Walnut Lawn. Thank you Melissa and Sheila.
Gary Bird: My wife passed at 3am. Our hospice nurse called Walnut Lawn. They answered promptly and had 2 ladies out very quickly from 15 or 20 miles from our home. They handled my wife very carefully and gently. They informed me of each of the next steps. Everything could not have been handled better. I am very pleased with their and all the follow up calls, texts and offers of help.
Theresa Jones: To Walnut Funeral Home,THANK YOU so much for taking care of my brother Darrell Wallace. I will NEVER forget when I got the phone call from Birch Pointe that he had passed. The nurse had recommended Walnut Funeral Home to take care of him…I said YES!I REMEMBER when I was driving, headed to Springfield and Miss Sheila had called. She expressed her condolences to me and asked me what I wanted to do. We discussed the logistics of everything and we agreed to make an appointment for 10 am for Friday morning. I am so GRATEFUL to have a GENUINE individual to call and was so PROFESSIONAL and NICE!From that Friday morning doing the paperwork, being able to see my brother to spend time, to receiving his ashes was ALL done PROFESSIONALLY! THANK YOU Walnut Lawn for a GREAT experience! It truly meant a lot to me. May God continue to bless each and every one of you in a special way!😊Theresa Y. JonesBlythewood, SCIn Loving Memory of My Dear Brother Darrell Blaine Wallace
Courtnie Linn: Broke my absolute heart the way I was treated... 26 ...just lost my mom ... Having to be the only one paying for anything and doing it all ... On a teachers salary... And I was treated so awful after I found someone cheaper... I can't believe it ..that someone in this line of work would make someone feel so small after going threw the most traumatic time of her life... I pray for them
tasha dobbins: When it comes to veterans they have the utmost respect and gratitude for a veteran and the warrior watch riders escort for the veterans from the time if service at the funeral home to the final stop at the cemetery they really do love our veterans from all branches this is Walter
Patricia Lynch: Walnut Lawn did a beautiful Memorial Service for my mother, Pamela Bernhardt!!They are compassionate and truly understand the pressures I was feeling and they really stepped in and did what they could to help release the unneeded stresses and pressure of all the end of life planning and preparing… Thank you all, this is a huge shout out to Sheila, I couldn’t have gotten through this time with out Walnut Lawn…
Lala Valhalla: Unethical.
Susan Rankin: After shopping all over town, I found this spacious and gracious place. I was treated with compassion and attention from the start. Communication was consistent and service was top-notch! The people at Walnut Lawn really care about you and your loved one, they go the extra mile, to make everything special!Pastor Dan Hankins, is very caring and made sure all was just right and that requests were honored. He was very timely and helpful in planning and very creative in program design. The atmosphere is elegant, comfortable and very clean. At this very emotional time, they reached out and treated us like family,. So if your looking for the best in a funeral home, Walnut Lawn is the only choice.
Michelle Richardson: Dan Hankins was very kind, helpful and professional going above and beyond to make this emotionalt time go smoothly. I am definitely going to sing his praises to anyone I know that is need of pre-needs arrangements.
Stephen Whisler: The featured presentation about bedding plant soil preparation was very informative, the band was excellent, and the food was good!
Randall Latch: I am recently (October 2020) divorced. I am not trying to get back into a dating scenario, or seeking a companion, I just want to relate with someone, preferably multiple someones, share friendship, attend events as a group, have new friends. This first meeting has provided that opportunity. I look forward to future events, not just luncheons, but also attend movies, maybe Branson shows, luncheon outings, special events, learn new things, see new sights. I am encouraged.
Rose “Rosie” Wooldridge: Excellent service, prepaid plan was adhered to, friendly, compassionate, constant contact (but not too much). They were always striving to give the best service possible. My representative was Dan and he could not have been better, above and beyond. You felt like you were truly loved and treasured. Far superior to a previously used large local funeral home.
Terry Hoggard: I just had my first meeting with this staff and in just one meeting, they went above and beyond to clarify every detail for me. It was so well done that every anticipated question I had was answered in the presentation that Gabe provided for me.This team does everything with grace, compassion and a desire to provide the very best care possible.I am honored to give them my highest recommendation.-Terry-
Michael Wimsatt: Walnut Lawn cares about what they do and the people they serve. In every interaction I have had with Dr. Ruth Ann, I see someone who wants to provide the very best services for her community.
Travis L. Edwards: I have had the opportunity to work with Walnut Lawn Funeral Home on many occasions as a local pastor in the community. I have always found their staff to be professional, caring, and willing to go the extra mile to minister to families in their greatest hour of need. If you are looking for a funeral home I highly recommend Walnut Lawn Funeral Home. Ruth Ann and the entire staff will treat you like family!
Jeanie Kendrick: Great place and serves families with love and extremely good care. Pricing is good and facility is awesome.
Claudia Darr: I have just hit my one year anniversary of being a Walnut Lawn Funeral Home employee, and I can say confidently I have never experienced a more compassionate and tight-knit work family. Every staff member here cares deeply for the families we serve, and knows the great honor of being trusted to care for the loved ones lost in our community. I could not say kinder words about the team at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home.
Guy Weiland: Walnut Lawn funeral directors were very knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to talk to about the passing of our family member.
Amy Ingram: I wanted to thank you guys for everything that you did. You all did such an amazing job,and you took care of every little detail. You and your staff showed so much love and compassion for someone you didn't even know. We appreciate that. I will never forget all you did for my family.Thank you greatly

Springfield Mortuary Services: what do users think?
Myles Hufferd: Brian and his team did an excellent job bearing the lost of a loved one. Thank you!
Sheldon FH: Our business has had a relationship with Springfield Mortuary Service for many, many years. We wouldn't think of using anybody else in the Springfield area. They have always treated us very well.
Latoshia Williams: If I had the choice to leave no stars I would. Our baby boy passed away at five months and live for three hours. the chaplain at the hospital stated that this would be a great place to send him so that’s what we did. they had our son there for over 2 1/2 weeks sitting in their freezer. They gave us the runaround blaming it on the hospital and the hospital was blaming it on them. I’m really not concerned about the blame. I’m more so at this point concerned abt how heartless the owner Brian Simmons was. He didn’t even speak to us, didn’t even show any emotion, we could just feel his cold heart. no spirit no warmth in his body. I would not recommend this place to anyone, not even my worst enemy.
Mj Hodges: Brian was great to assist me in this difficult time.

Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home: what do users think?
Irene Frydrych: Heather was my angel during the process of losing my dad. The first time we went in, my whole family was there and they are talkers! She did a great job of letting them be them and still moving things along. She stayed in touch with me about what was going on. She treated my dad with the respect he deserved in death. She was kind, considerate, and got things done so efficiently. I hope I never see her again, but if the need arises, I’ll be coming here FOR SURE.
Olivia: Angela is an amazing funeral director and makes everyone feel comforted and ease during this process. Thank you Angela for all your help!
Cassidy Tonning: The loss of my mom was sudden and unexpected, and we had no idea where to start looking at funeral homes. I'm so greatful that we decided to use Gorman-Scharpf. They were so helpful, supportive, and amazing people to work with. Andy, the funeral director who helped us, was great and I know God pointed us in the right direction for our mom's services. Thank you SO much for everything, you all did an amazing job.
Angela Jackson: My family is so very thankful for Angela Collins at the Gorman Sharpf funeral home. She took time to listen to our needs, explained how everything works in a way that we could understand and even explained them several times because we were grieving. Angela really cares about the families that come to see her and my husband and I are going to plan our funerals with her. She also gave us Options on things, everyone knows that planning a funeral is so very rough when you've lost someone you love. Thanks again Angela for the loving care you showed my family during our time when we needed you the most.
Landon Bock: I only worked for Gorman Scharpf three weeks. The training was good, management informed me several times I was doing a good job, only to be lied to in front of my face and then fired after three weeks of working long hours, little sleep and always showed up to do my job. Management doesn't appreciate your hard work and they take advantage of the employees they have that are working for them. I wouldn't recommend working for them or using their services.
David Steiner: A very well kept up Funeral Home..
Maddie Mela: We’ve used Gorman Scharpf before, so when my grandpa passed away we used them again. And we spoke to Don. Good communicator and they’re so compassionate, and always answered our questions. I highly recommend this place.
Chris Elder: Heather, and all the staff at Gorman-Scharpf funeral home are fantastic. They made the process of burying our father easy, hassle-free and painless. Losing a loved one is hard enough. They took care of everything. I highly recommend them.
S Miles: I’m grateful for the compassion and information received from Angela. She walked us through every aspect allowing us to move at our pace while coping and planning. My brother, sister and I had never had to make these difficult decisions and didn’t know where to begin after losing our father so suddenly. Angela became like family helping us through this time and together we planned a service that honored my father beautifully. We are also grateful for Andy for giving a beautiful service and creating the slideshow that really celebrated the life of our father. Thank you will never be enough to express the gratitude we feel for guiding us through this time. You all are in our hearts forever. Thank you Angela, Andy and the rest of Gorman-Scharpf! ♥️
Andy L: Gorman-Scharpf recently took care of my mother's funeral arrangements. 5 stars is not enough to convey how much we respected them for their compassion and business morals. They don't treat this like a business transaction, but more like a friend helping your out during a rough time. From start to finish they were nothing but professional. They made the whole process very easy for us, and if we needed services like these again we would definitely use them.
Megan Sills: Absolutely wonderful experience. Or as wonderful a experience this kind of thing can be. They were so attentive and receptive to the needs of our family during our difficult time. They made an extremely trying time that much simpler. THANK you!
Douglas Rayl: I would highly recommend this place. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and listens as well as efficiently taking care of paperwork.
Steve Hargis: We have used Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on three occasions. Respectful, friendly, not pushy, caring, and they understood the concept of our budget.I'm not sure what more you would expect, but they continued to go above and beyond what I expected. One example, they delivered all flowers after the service to the home and even helped carry them inside and set them up.If you're reading this, I'm sorry for your loss, but know that in my opinion, Gorman-Scharpf will take care of you through this time of grief.
Stephanie M.: The staff treated our entire (sometimes difficult) family with the upmost respect and dignity. We felt the stress of dealing with the physicality of my sister's untimely death was lifted from our shoulders within our first meeting. Our personal guidance professional was incredibly sensitive to our situation and struggles during the most horrific days of our collective lives...our deepest gratitude!
Franz Ginsberg: I have worked with Gorman-Scharpf many times, and they are exceptional. The staff is kind, patient, and professional. They will check, then double check everything, so you can bet that you are in good hands if you choose to go with Gorman-Scharpf. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the area.
Janette Romero: Death is never easy but they made this experience go smoothly and with compassion and patience. Death is never easy but I'm glad that they were there to help me through it.
L.D. Johnson: Very professional, and excellent service, details and caring touches were on every part of the process.
Ty'Juania Campbell: Losing a loved one is extremely difficult. Having to choose a funeral home can be hard because you want to make your last decisions for your loved one perfect and as painless for yourself as possible. Choosing Gorman-Scharpf to help me plan my father's burial was the best choice I could have made. Andy was so wonderful. From the moment I first called to get started on my journey of things he took it all in his own hands. I met with him and discussed options and told him what I wanted and he made it all work. Thank you Andy and GS staff.
