But the last two times we have boarded our dogs, one dog has come back with noticeable injuries that staff didn’t communicate with us about. The first time I figured it was a fluke, but when I called about our concerns the second time after returning home, I never received a call back. This did occur a while ago, so maybe staff or training has improved, but it was so disheartening for us and we won’t be returning to happy tails.

We additionally had to make arrangements for our kitties to be picked up by a transportation service, and the Happy Tails team handled the process without a hitch. Katie Daniel: We have used Bark & Bathe for grooming, doggy daycare, and boarding with our two dogs. They always do a fantastic job with grooming. They also do a great job with daycare and boarding. One of our dogs gets pretty nervous, but even he settles in and does fine there.

Received a text at 12:30 he was ready…then a follow up text that I had to be there by 2pm or it was a $15 “Extended Stay” fee. Next day he had an accident at home, first time in almost 2 years. Has turned super clingy for the last 4 days.. Found a huge cut on the bottom of his ear scabbed over. No clue what happened but it wasn’t good. Semi friendly staff,, overpriced, and a $15 surcharge after 5 hours? If you love your pet, this isn’t the place, sorry.

No call or message was left on either of my phones. Bad communication to let people setup an appointment for a weekend grooming and stopped it in April 2022. Will not go back to earn my business.

But the staff was very friendly and helpful getting this rescheduled and put us on a cancellation list so we got in a few days early. I have to say I’m genuinely amazed at how great our doggo looks/smells after and our groomer (Tony) did a great job communicating with me prior to the appointment despite our pup being a bit crazy in the new environment. He clearly took lots of time on our doggo and we can see the benefits of that! The girls at check out were also very helpful in making sure I was happy with the results. I look forward to coming back!

I made my complaint, and the owner contacted me and went above and beyond to correct the situation. I know mistakes happen. It means everything to me to know that they take accountability, and do what they can to make it right. I give 5 stars , not only did my dog come back sparkley clean, the people are super nice. I will come back for a spa day. and will be adding the enrichment activity to his day. I think it really helped ease his grooming anxiety. Thank you so much!

Sam May: We drove three hours from our home for a weekend getaway in Branson. In doing so, we rented the only property we could find that was dog friendly, so we could bring our pup. We scheduled for him to have two play days at the Springfield camp bow wow. He stayed for probably 4 hours each day. After picking him up the first day, we found out that it was $36 each visit. Their website says $30. My local camp bow wow is $25 for a FULL day. I researched every single camp bow wow in Missouri, and the most expensive is this one, followed by one that is $30. Every other camp bow wow on the state of Missouri is between $25 and $27 for a full day. Some even range as low as $18 for 5 hours or less. I called camp bow wow after the first day as asked why it was $36 when their website said $30, and they said that they raise it to $36 on the weekends. Please keep on mind that this is NOWHERE on their website. When I explained this to the girl over the phone, her only response was "sorry, but I don't set the prices." I then stated that I would write a review to make people aware of this before taking their animals there, and she replied with "that's fine, have a nice day" and hung up. My local camp bow wow charges $40 to board. Essentially, we could have paid $4 more than what we did pay to board our dog and not have to pay extra for an airbnb that was pet friendly, and cart our dog 3 hours away. Literally for $4 more.

Tay™ meeduuusssaaa: This is our second consecutive incident with Camp Bow Wow- where we dropped our dog off overnight for camp, they did not give him the two blankets provided seeing how they were folding exactlyyyyy the way we dropped it off with him, they lied by saying he gave them his food however he just grazed over it giving us back one full bag of food. Our dog threw up food that was not his, looked like canned food. The second incident being his nail had gotten smashed into a door or stepped on causing the nail to break, he then was put into the kennel until we came to pick him up unbeknownst to his owners that this has happened. We had to take him to the vet the following day due to the severity of the broken nail. Camp Bow Wow used to be a place we raved to all of our fellow dog owners, albeit over time the service has gone down while the prices have gone up.

Kim Wilson: I feel they had too many dogs at one time. They didn’t interact with the dogs very often., Only to clean up their messes and just stand around. They were in the kennels Way too long. I blared my dogs for eight nights. Just didn’t They were very personal with my babies. The outdoor was very small for very active dogs.

Michael Kindel: We recently went on vacation and left our beloved 8 year old lab mix at Camp Bow Wow in Springfield Missouri. We couldn't have been happier with the results. The place is kept spotless, with dogs having the freedom to spend time inside or outside whenever they want. The dogs seemed to be grouped by personality, which leads to them getting along with each other, and they get a lot of personal attention from the handlers. There are web cams in each grouping that allow the dog owners to look in on their dogs during the day. I brought my own food for my dog, and she was fed as per my instructions, making her stay as routine as possible, but they will provide food. We are already planning our next vacation and Macy's next stay at Camp Bow Wow.

She says "oh hes next in line and NEXT time if you need him done at a certain time, let us know because we have other dogs that come first" in the most rudest tone. So then i say okay, its just never taken this long before so thought id check, but is it okay if my husband shows up around 4 to get him on his way home from work? She said yes thats fine..so my husband shows up at 3:40 and asks about him.. He gets home and tells me how his encounter went them with, just as rude! "If you didnt get a call, hes not done. Next time tell us a time. It wont be until 5:30 that's he done." bla bla bla..girl you told me he was next in line at 2 and it's now not until 5:30 that he will be done?!7 hours?!!!!Not okay to treat your customers that way.Last time they get my business and I was always generous with the tips. NopeBye.

D Jackson: Signed my dog up for boarding for what was supposed to be 2 nights and 2 days. However, there was a snow storm the day I was set to pick her up and the facility closed early. They called me ahead of time to let me know they would keep her an additional night free of charge if i wasnt able to make it before closing and they did just that with no problem. Not to mention this facility is already VERY affordable compared to surrounding boarding facilities. The building is always clean, smells great and is very warm and inviting. And also BEAUTIFUL inside and out. My dog has been seen by the vets here twice and they do such a phenomenal job. You can tell everyone here really cares about the pets they oversee. As a visitor of the area, I couldn't have gotten more lucky to find a place like this. I will continue to bring my dog here for as long as we are in Springfield.

bethany house: I have contacted this facility on two separate occasions and left a note for the owners of the facility to call me back. I have 5 dogs that I wanted to board here. I board my dogs all the time, and I figured this facility would be interested in earning my continuous business. The first time I called I spoke to the front desk receptionist to inquire about pricing. She informed me they did not offer any discounts ( military or multiple dog boarding discounts). I have NEVER been to a boarding facility that did not offer some type of multiple dog discounts for 5 dogs. This is the reason I left a note for the owner(s) to call me back. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of business response to my messages left. I will be sure to let anyone I know interested in your facility of the experience I had .Update: This facility just replied to my review 2 years later. I find that humorous. Rest assured I have found other arrangements for my 5 dogs.

Also I love that they take pictures so I can see how my fur babies are doing! I would recommend for anybody to take their pets here. They have reasonable pick up times for everyday of the week. They even went out of their way on a weekend to fax our dog's rabies shots info to the humane society so we could adopt our second dog.

They are joined with a vet clinic, so I don't hesitate to leave my dog in their care. Many times I am there, dogs are outside playing together. They also offer bathing and nail trims.

MK Magnuson: Pet Ranch at Millwood has a caring, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Charlie is a dog with anxiety and has zero issues staying at Pet Ranch! It's also comforting to know there is a veterinarian available should the need arise. I wouldn't take Charlie anywhere else.

Garen Gilmore: In the middle of moving we boarded our dogs with Millwood Pet Ranch. We had used them many times in the past and had a positive experience. So we dropped our dogs off on Wednesday and were scheduled to pick them up on Friday. Trying to meet a timeline to get out of our old house we were not able to pick them up Friday. Not knowing the holiday weekend hours I called Saturday morning to try and find out. There was no answer so I left a message. I also checked the website and still could not find the hours of operation. I had really wanted to get the dogs over the weekend to get them trained on our invisible fence. Because I could not reach anyone I had to wait until Monday to pick them up. I was charged 2 additional nights and voiced my opinion with the girl at the front desk. She informed me that she would talk to management and the would call me. I did get a phone call from them 3 days later and Explained to her what happened. I told her that I was not able to find any holiday hours and never received a return phone call from the message I left over the weekend. I asked her if she got my message and she said that she did. She simply told me that everyone else knew when they could get their dogs. She also asked me if I called the emergency vet line and I said why would I do that when I was boarding my dog. I was very disappointed in the lack of care or customer service. I truly felt that it really didn't matter to her whether I continued being a customer or used a competitor. I would not recommend this company to anyone!

Tom Cannon: Can’t say enough about how great their staff are at taking care of your pup in a great facility and location. We have taken two of our dogs to the east location since it opened and one dog to their west location for years before that. We love being able to check in on the pups while traveling and knowing they are being cared for very well.

The camp counselors are great about following our feeding protocols and have even gone above and beyond to make sure we are comfortable with the care they receive while we are gone. What was once stressful is now an easy solution.

Jo: I made a call for my friend today. She brings her dog to the east location. I was watching the cameras for her this morning and noticed one of the girls there was being aggressive in yard 1, shoving them down and yelling at them. The woman on the phone said her name was Lauren and was extremely rude even though I was being nice considering the circumstances. I relayed the info and she told me that I was wrong, and needed to know my dogs name. It's not my dog, so I didn't feel comfortable telling her, especially because I was worried they would treat her unfairly if they knew. So I explained that I didn't feel comfortable since the girl was doing it to other dogs, so I don't understand why it matters which dog. She got very hateful, said I was wrong and hung up on me mid sentence! I have a dog of my own, and if I ever need to board her I absolutely won't be going here!!

Rochelle Wertz: NOT ALL CAMP BOW WOWS ARE THE SAME.I will never set foot in this location again. The Springfield Camp Bow Wows do not follow the standard protocol and doggy care we’ve experienced at other locations across the country. Our sweet bully breed passed the interview in Georgia with flying colors. I called Springfield East to make a reservation (we would be vacationing in the area), and they indicated she would need to have another interview. I was a little disappointed, but agreed anyway. When we brought her in for the interview, it was clear the Camp Counselor hadn’t read our dog’s intake form. Our dog was kenneled for 2 hours (stressful) before the introduction. They brought her into a yard and made her meet another dog immediately without giving her time to get used to the smells of the yard, or relax from being in the kennel, and was kept on her leash. From the video, you could tell the Camp Counselor was afraid of our 80-pound dog. We called immediately, since our dog has some leash aggression from being beaten by her previous owners and should not be introduced on a lead. They apologized for not reading the intake form, and agreed to reintroduce her off-leash. They reintroduced her to an old fragile greyhound, and again were afraid of my strong dog. They did not pass her the second time, but agreed to keep her for our full reservation (just without play time), and would re-test her the following morning when she was more relaxed. They said either way, they would text us with an update following the re-test. By 1:30 the following day, I had not received any update. I also noticed she was not in any yards, and did not get “off-time” exercise as promised. We cancelled our vacation and the reservation a day early. When we picked up our dog, they gave us the dog bed we left and the food before bringing her out. Her dog bed was not warm, which means it was never in the kennel with her. This location is a gross misrepresentation of the great franchise that is Camp Bow Wow, from experiences in Nevada, Tennessee, Ohio, and Georgia. This office should be ashamed of themselves and embarrassed to call themselves dog lovers.

Dakota L: I would not recommend this facility to anyone looking for boarding unless your ok with your dog being kenneled for 18 hours a day. They offer daycare services from 7am-7pm but the dogs are kenneled 6 out of those 12 hours (staff explained they are cleaning, feeding animals and taking lunches during this time). Dogs are only out for 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in afternoon. This should be something disclosed to every pet parent on evaluation day. I picked up my dogs during kenneling time, it was so loud it was deafening in there with all of the dogs barking wanting to get out of the kennels. How stressful for my fur babies to listen to that for hours! $56 a day for daycare for 2 dogs is outrageous and far above industry standard. Also not disclosed, there is no outdoor potty area at Springfield East- good luck teaching your dog that it’s OK to potty in this building but not any other building!

Matthew Hedges: Knowledgeable, helpful friendly, but they area bit higher on routine vet care than most others.

Warren Sandwell: They always take very good care of our dogs! We trust them all the way. Our dogs have stayed here several times and always seem happy and healthy when they return home. They even played with them and sent us pictures which made us feel very good about how they were being treated there.

Barb Novak: Have an elderly dog, they know all her issues, sometimes we're not sure what goes on? At times she's not given all her treats that we instruct, this last time she had a mess in her bed and blanket during her last night and that is her safe haven, so we wonder what she slept on during that day?( She sleeps a lot)(she has very bad eye sight and hearing) When we did get home with her, they didn't put her blanket in with her dirty bed, had to call the next day to try to track it down! Not the happiest!

Bbodega Bbodega: Love this place. They take excellent care of her animals when they are kenneled there is a vet right next-door so no worries when we are out of town a great place they know the animals by name call us when something isn’t quite right and I trust him to take care of everything until we get home if there is an emergency.

Luke Sherman: I love this place! Wonderful grooming, and such a sweet and attentive bunch for kenneling my cat!

Andrea Boatman: Never used their boarding services, grooming only. Groomer Erica always did a great job with my dog but out of nowhere she was gone and nobody told me until I showed up for the next appointment. The new groomer did not bother to introduce herself to me until the second time but only because I asked for her to. She never showed any interest in talking to me about what I wanted to have done for my dog and after giving her a few chances and multiple unsatisfactory grooms including scratches on my dog's belly, choppy cuts and not using the correct clipper length as requested, I gave up and found me a new groomer. Even when I complained nobody seemed to care. Also, grooms take forever because they "collect" the dogs in the morning or afternoon and most of the time afternoon appointments were unavailable.

Robbie Rudder: Used their boarding service for three months. Great service.
