Springfield Fight Club: what do users think?
ZiplocWonder TheMiraculousPlatypus: Absolutely outstanding. Both the Instructors/Coaches, members, everything.
Jessey Mook: I have really enjoyed training here at SFC. Having class at 5am has been super helpful getting in training time before work every day. Great place and great people.
Mars: Great place to train, get in shape, and meet like minded individuals.
Micah Young: I joined fight club just to get a good workout in. Quickly I realized the positive impact it was making on my physically & mentally. I found a new confidence in myself that has translated on & off the mat! The coaches & students are so welcoming & make the gym feel like a second home. You won’t regret joining the SFC family 👊🏻
Jesse Owsley: Springfield Fight Club (SFC) is absolutely top notch and I recommend unreservedly to my friends and anyone who trains martial arts. The coaches are outstandingly good, and the atmosphere is supportive and challenging. I've been training here for a year and a half and plan to continue indefinitely.
Ryan Culbertson-Faegre: This is my favorite place in the world. Great vibes, instant martial art nerd friends, and great instruction from coaches who follow modern Jiu-Jitsu and MMA.They offer a free trial week for new students, and Sunday open mats are always free and open to the public. Come try it out!
1Time: I’ve been going to SFC for a handful of months now. Not only do I see many of the same faces from class to class, I see those same faces helping new faces learn fundamentals. SFC is such a welcoming home for those who are either looking to train professionally or to simply have an outlet in life. This will be the place to be for years to come. Come make some new friends and learn a thing or two about self defense!
Nick Johnson: This place is special. I’ve been to many academy’s or MMA gyms in general all over the country and this is a top notch school. All of the instructors are amazing and back it up with incredible skills to match their philosophies. They know how to structure their classes and sparring in general so minimal injures happen. Ton of positive energy and hard work will be had in this place. Recommend to any age, weight, size, or experience level!
Grant Zykan: Been a student at SFC for a year. Every coach cares about every student, and their improvement. The gym is full of great people who are family. For self defense, exercise, or fighting, Springfield Fight Club is the best in the 417.
Trey Brewer: Not one bad roll. Great people
Darth Wang: Nice guys, well. For fighters lol you will have fun here!
Andrea A: I've been a student at SFC for 3 years now. They're experienced, professional, fun, and very good at teaching. They have a ton of class times and several qualified coaches. The professors are well versed, but know how to make it graspable for beginners. The amount of coaches there allows people at all levels to get one on one details of what is being taught. I highly recommend Springfield Fight Club for the competitor, families, someone just looking for a cool hobby, and people who just want to come to work on their fitness. SFC has something for everyone.
Chelsey Gardner: So I'm am completely new to the world of jujitsu and kickboxing, but the staff was super helpful and more than willing to work with you. They were very patient and willing to show me things as many times as I needed. Everyone in the class was super encouraging and friendly! By the time I left I had the impression that everyone in that building just wants to help you be the best you possible. I can't wait to go back tonight!
Sherrie Birkinbine: As a female with no martial arts background, I felt immediately welcomed. Those who train here have varying levels of motivation: MMA/BJJ enthusiasts, trained fighters, or just learning self defense with a great kickboxing workout. Everyone is very respectful and the community dynamic is really quite moving. The coaches have a heart to help everyone at each level.
Nate Peters: I’ve been training with SFC since 2009 and can say that it truly is an incredible place! It has a great atmosphere that is welcoming to beginners and seasoned practitioners alike. There’s a great sense of community and it doesn’t take long for people new to the gym to feel like they belong to something! I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to train in martial arts whether it be for fitness, self-defense or competitive purposes!
Breno Viani: Best place in town to train brazilian jiu jitsu! I looked into other gyms before coming to SFC, and after training there I felt at home. They are one big family. I have been training there for over a year now and hate it when I miss one day of training.
James Lowery: Great place to train!! Coaches are very knowledgeable and helpful regardless of experience level. I made the choice to try it 2.5 years ago and it has been a great choice!
Michael Miller: This is hands down, the best place to train in southwest Missouri. Top notch instruction and great people. You’ll feel welcome from the moment you walk in. Very professional facility with a variety of classes and class times to fit your needs! If you want to get in shape, be part of a big family, and learn to defend yourself, give Springfield Fight Club a try!
Nicolas Wilson: Great place to get into shape and learn self-defense. I was nervous coming here at first but the coaches and other people are easy to get along with and made the process pretty painless. It is a challenging and rewarding environment. I have had a couple of minor injuries that were outside the gym and haven't been super consistent but the payment process has worked around my situation. I recommend you take the first class and see if you enjoy it.
T.J. Morgan: The name of the gym might be off putting to the conservative type, or maybe invigorating to the aggressive, but take note: this place is quite special! From my experience here, everyone welcomes new folks and encourages them in their individual journeys into the combative world. Spend your time and money here...oh, and bring the kids too!
Wesley Biddinger: Is it american top team?

Dunham's Martial Arts Training Center: what do users think?
Kimberly Alexander: I am 9 weeks into self defense classes and have signed up as a full time student. Martial arts is not something I would have ever thought I was cut out for. I was wrong. I feel better, I'm more confident, I've made some wonderful new friends, I look forward to each class, I have weight coming off, I feel encouraged and happier. Mr Dunham and Mr Kennedy are fantastic and teach mind, body, and soul as an overall curriculum. inside and out I have learned so much about myself and others. They are helpful and always available if I have questions. I recommend this to everyone.
Teresa Fairbanks: It’s been a journey 7+ years I have been training and developing essential life skills. I am humbled to say I have finally earned my 3rd degree Brown belt. Making the decision to continue to challenge my mind and body has allowed me to be a positive role model to those within my circle of influence. Anyone who wants to create better habits in life or want to be more balanced in mind and body should consider coming to train with us. It’s amazing what happens when you are in a healthy positive safe environment. Thank you to my Sensei Mr. Dunham & my other martial arts family for continuing to teach me to become a positive affective leader. 🏽
Kayla Curry: I have always wanted to train martial arts and had always been nervous to start. I’ve been training for a year and a half now and can’t recommend this school enough. Mr. Dunham and the other instructors create a judgement free, fun learning environment and are willing to work with each individual on their martial arts journey. The physical and mental training I’ve acquired from my time here have been invaluable.
Adrienne Deckard: I’ve had women’s self defense, gun defense, knife defense, leadership training, sparring, and MMA classes here, and I’ve competed with them at a couple of tournaments. I’m also in the regular adult classes and have had my son in the kid’s class. The instructors are professional, knowledgeable, and skilled, and everyone is very welcoming. It’s a great mix of abilities and ages. They take a very holistic approach so we go over lots of physical skills and strength training, plus nutrition, character development, etc. Mr. Dunham has a very structured curriculum and every class feels very purposeful and efficient. It’s well worth the cost if you’re looking for physical and mental self improvement or if you just want to learn how to defend yourself (or if you want those things for your kids).
Molly Eagan: EXCEPTIONAL place to train, instructors genuinely care about the well-being and improvements of their students. Every member of staff I met helped provide an encouraging and supportive environment which made me excited to come to class. They made martial arts approachable even as I am a novice to the art. I HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking to not only improve their fitness but also to train their mind. I’ve found their lessons to be particularly helpful in helping me navigate life’s issues. Thank you 🖤
Day: I have two teenage boys who have been going here for a few months now. We wanted something to keep them active, give them confidence, as well as the ability to become better focused. My younger son is very active and loves how active the class is. He grew up watching various martial arts shows, so he was quite motivated to put in the work to be able to learn. My older boy became quiet after hitting his teen years, withdrawn, he struggles in school, struggles with finding motivation, and deals with things internally rather than speaking to me about how he is feeling. He hasn't been here very long, and I was worried he wouldn't like the hard work he has to put in for class, but he gets in there and does it. He doesn't complain, he has started looking more and more confident, and above all else, he SMILES. He isn't one to admit he is having fun, but I watch him in class, and he just loves every minute of it. It gets him physically and mentally away from whatever is stressing him out and gives him a healthy outlet.I would recommend this place for martial arts. The instructors are knowledgeable, professional, and above all, they care deeply about their students. There is a big emphasis on respect and integrity, and I have noticed a big change in my younger boy's way of responding to myself and other adults (the use of "Yes sir/ma'am, and less arguing!). Overall, it is a very positive place, and I couldn't be more pleased with our experiences!
A Miller: Absolutely amazing environment to learn in. The teachers are patient, kind and motivating and there is a sense of family within the Dojo. I loved the time that I spent there and I learned a lot. I would recommend this Dojo to people of all ages and skill levels.
Positive Potentials: One of the best decisions I ever made was joining this studio. It's all about being the best that I can be. There is so much support and belief in each student. We may not have the same abilities or goals, but staff and fellow students are all about helping you find a way to reach your goal.
Devin Engel: Great mentorship, and nothing like Cobra Kai... no 'sweep the leg' going on here!
Sapp Sabotage: This place is amazing! They always have specials going and they have a very wide variety of teachers and dojo masters to help teach all ages. I really have come to appreciate the communication and the patience with the children they have and especially Alex she has been a dear with the kids. My son is only 6 years old and improved with each class.
Sweet Pierce: They are amazing with kids and people of all ages. I’ve seen my son improve in many ways, too many to count. Starting him off young is important because of the life skills and grounding that they are able to teach and really focus on improving every aspect of life. My son loves it tho it’s hard work for him he is good at it and the patience of each instructor and the communication is abounding. I’m thankful for them all at Dunham’s. They truly take the time and effort for each student.
Tammy Preston: Wonderful. Welcoming of all fitness levels. Instructors care about the individual. Joining this dojo family has been life changing!!! I cannot say enough good about Mr. Dunham, the other instructors, and other students here.
I am stuck IN THIS FUCKING FOUR LOKO CAN: Y'know, I started training here about a year ago, and I gotta say as a guy with previous martial arts experience, this is literally the best school I've gone to. the instructors are super awesome, it gets ya in shape, and as I had to learn the worst way possible recently, it really helps you with your self-defense skills.
Emily Baadsgaard: Immediately loved this Martial Arts School. I came in with no experience to the adult/teen class and expect to stay for a long time! It really does make a positive difference in my life. While it can be difficult to stay motivated, I never regret going to one of Mr. Dunham’s classes. I would highly recommend for both beginner and advanced students.
Rachel Fortner: Dunham's is truly a great place to build up confidence, learn how to defend yourself and have a great time doing it. I feel much more ready to handle anything that comes at me, physical or otherwise. The staff really care about you and make you feel welcome, especially Kennedy and Mr. Dunham. They always worked with my schedule, budget and skill level and never made me feel bad even when I fell very off the wagon with training. They also always checked in to see how I was doing, which makes it even more of a one-of-a-kind place in my book. Hope y'all join!
Andi Stanley: Great place to learn martial arts, self-defense and be part of a wonderful group of people! Fitness and personal development are other aspects of the training. Personally, I enjoy the whole package-working out, learning new skills and having fun! When I walk into the mat, I put everything else aside and focus on my time there.
Bonnie Patrick: I highly recommend for anyone wanting to work on fitness, personal development, or wanting to try out a new hobby!I have been attending Dunham's Martial Arts Training center since October of 2021. I had no previous martial arts experience and had set very low expectations for myself. I have seen my confidence, fitness, and how I handle my stress improve drastically. The instructors are all respectful and easy to talk to and the lessons on self defense reached far beyond my expectations. I find myself excited for each and every class and I'm greatful for the opportunity to learn from them!
Jesse James: Love it.
Candy Huynh: Great place I will never take my kids anywhere else!
Jody Furnas-Wright: Perfect birthday party for 10 year old boy.
Rema Ford: Amazing experience! You should try it. I'm 46. You're never too old.

Infinity Martial Arts: what do users think?
Tri-Force BJJ: While traveling to Missouri me and my wife wanted to find a place to train. Everyone at this school welcomed us with open arms. All the students were friendly, welcoming and super respectful. This all starts at the top with having great coaches/instructors. If anyone is in this general area I would highly suggest checking them out for great BJJ training!
Clint Craft: If you’re looking for a gym to train jiu-jitsu in Springfield, MO, I highly recommend checking out Infinity Martial Arts. I’ve been training at IMA’s Springfield location for just over a year. The main reason I opted for IMA is its reputation for being a solid gym with knowledgeable instructors welcoming of all skill levels. I’ve found all of this to be spot-on. In fact, over the past year, I’ve seen several absolute beginners walk through the door, greeted with a warm welcome, and treated with respect. All age ranges, body types, genders welcomed and given the same time, attention, and quality instruction. Membership rates are very reasonable, in my opinion, especially if you are attending several classes a week. I attend the 6 a.m. class Monday – Thursday, so at $100 a month, that’s 16 sessions coming out to about $6.25 each. What you’re getting back – health, fitness, confidence, personal wellbeing – is hard to put a price on.
Brody Nolan: I started BJJ about a year ago for my job. This place, the coaches, and other members have been super welcoming. Every class I attend I learn something and able to develop my grappling abilities. I have developed confidence when dealing with difficult situations both at work and in life. Thank you to the coaches and other members for helping me achieving my goals.
Jimmy Skrocki: This place is awesome! I had no experience when I first started and the coaches were and continue to be super helpful in answering questions and correcting my technique. I would highly recommend Infinity to anyone!
Sean Fischer: let me train while I worked in Springfield no questions asked. So nice, wish I had found this place earlier.
joe messina: I have had the pleasure of meeting Mr Aaron out of his martial arts center. This gentleman has a passion for teaching the arts of martial arts. Its not often that you meet people that want to give back to there community with there skills God has given them.Mr Aaron and his team at Infinity Martial arts will always be recommended by me as a excellent place to be taught the skills of martial arts and the discipline to excel in life .Infinity Martial Arts Center in my opinion has true leaders that understand how to grow people through the art of martial arts.Potentially an excellent place to start a youth down the wright path.CEO Messina Plumbing And Mechanical, Joe Messina.
natalie nicely: My name is Natalie and i’ve been doing this sport for a few weeks now, I have never fallen in love with a sport so fast. The people I kickbox are kind and want nothing but to lift one another up and my coaches are AMAZING. They put teamwork and love into teaching us. I get better everyday, and they are patient with everyone. The building is very clean, and a safe place to be. I enjoy going there and I HIGHLY recommend them. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!
Andy Wilkinson: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreat place to train and learn! Coaches are encouraging and other students are welcoming! Many awesome options for class times!
Dan Simmons: This is a top notch gym. The atmosphere is very welcoming and respectful. The coaches are very knowledgeable and care about all of their students. If you want to compete in bjj, mma, or just learn for self defense and to get in shape this is the place to go. I highly recommend.
William Couch: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreat place for all skill levels. Whether you're new to martial arts or a black belt, Infinity has something for you. I cannot recommend it enough.
Joe Caudle: Positive:QualityGreat group of guys, coaches are knowledgeable and train a variety of people in using their different strengths/styles. Individuals that are new will be pushed but not overwhelmed, the culture is great. If you're looking to make a real commitment to learning mixed martial arts, this gym is it.
Brett Decker: Great coaches, great training partners and an overall great atmosphere.
Timur Dzhabbarov: I highly recommend this place! Coaches are super knowledgeable with tons of experience. There is a great environment and team spirit. Everyone is encouraged to be respectful to each other. Also, there is a perfect combination of learning new techniques and free-rolling time, which allows you to achieve your goals which could be everything from learning self-defense to preparing for serious tournaments!Best place no doubts!

Martial Arts USA: what do users think?
Micaela Jackson: Great place for kids to learn with attentive instructors! My 5 year old loves it! As a mom, I really appreciate the class times and the app that makes attending classes super simply! Definitely recommend MA-USA, if you have a little one who “wants to learn to be a ninja”
Karen prescott: My 14 year old daughter has been attending classes for almost a month now and is really enjoying it. She is learning self defense moves while getting exercise. Mr. Kyle has been wonderful working with her and drawing her out of her shell. I can see her self confidence growing with each class!
Ira Assmann: Great environment, my daughter is always excited to go to her classes!
Joey Dupree: I love when the minute you walk in you feel like family. They have the best instructors to help you with your goals of which you want to achieve. Master C and his Wife Heather are great instructors that are there for you every step of the way to help you reach your goals thank you guys so much for all you do! Me and my son both love it!
MrWickedWaves: Clean facilities and great instructors.
Christina Thomas: Honestly I can’t say enough great things about this studio. We have been a part of this studio for almost 2 years. My kids have gained confidence a hundred fold and the instructors are amazing at meeting each of my kids where they are to help them develop both physically and intellectually. I started training well after my kids started and now we train and play together! Even if martial arts is only planned to be a season of life, your kids and family will benefit for a lifetime by joining this group of amazing instructors.
Nemisis: Seeing pictures of Mr. Biggers without a beard is like seeing baby pictures. But, that’s not a bad thing. I’m enrolled in the leadership team, jiu jitsu, and mixed martial arts program and I can say: I do not want to be a stealth ninja, I want to be the best me I can be. ANYONE with a blue jacket is HEAVILY trained and qualifies to go into the instructor position. Especially if they are accepted in the first place. These instructors are the most inspiring men and women you will ever meet. From the moment I walked in, I was inspired by Josh Parent and Brian Cain. They are by far the best instructors I personally have and ever will work with. They know exactly what they are doing and they base how they act on what kids they are teaching yet still build a bond with them. Mr. C tells us we can copy instructors because they’re doing it right and for anyone who dares to say they aren’t doing it right are VERY wrong. Every single time I want to quit, I remember every single one of the leadership team members and I keep going, keep pushing.I can’t thank this gym enough. I truly can’t. I can’t thank Kyle enough for the personal lessons, I can’t thank Mr. C enough for helping me through every single roadblock I’ve hit, and I can’t thank Brian for being one of my best friends. I can’t thank any of them enough. This gym will always hold a special place in my heart.
Diana Strong: You will not find a better martial arts school around. The instructors and staff are simply THE BEST. Master Cvitak is the most motivational instructors that I know. He is looked up to and admired by everyone in the martial arts community. Martial Arts USA is the premier place for martial arts instruction in the area!
Michael Hope: My son & daughter (now almost 13 & 15) started Martial Arts, USA over 2 years ago. The character & values all 5 instructors and classmates provide are 2nd to none. If they are motivated with goals, the school will see them through. Great place for all ages in a family environment. Nice, clean & professional facilities. Great amount of options for training to fit your schedule. A great benefit to children/teenagers in many different areas of their lives.
Freda Brawner williams: My great grandson, 10, has been going to this school for a few year and they have been like a big family to him. My great granddaughter, 6, started classes and everyone has welcomed her in as family too, I couldn’t be happier to know that they had such a great school and instructors to learn from.
Jim Hammons: I love this school! Having been around the martial arts for 40 years I can honestly say I’ve never seen a more amazing staff. The instructors art top notch and every one of the staff truly care about each and every students goals and wellbeing! I highly recommend giving this school a try. You will be glad you did🙏🏻
Hannah Vimont: I would recommend Martial Arts USA to anyone. The instructors are AMAZING! Since beginning my journey towards my black belt, I have gained tons of confidence and strength, along with many, many other things that have improved me as a person. Thanks to the MAUSA experience, I know that I am a martial artist for life.Hannah Vimont
Leah Leah: The owners and staff are very friendly and you can see they enjoy what they are doing. They learn your child's name very quickly and make it a point to include everyone. Our son is having a great time, I can see him listening and learning while getting new skills and exercise. I wish we would have got him here sooner.
FlightsimDad: great staff an classes are fun for the kids!!
Joshua Fillingham: Great teachers and staff. My children both love the classes and the teachers. This is a wonderful program!
Catherine HEREDIA: Martial Arts USA is an family friendly environment. It is a great place for the whole family to learn martial arts. The staff is wonderful! They have created a great environment for kids and adults to learn tae kwon do and jujitsu and make friends at the same time! The program is structured where kids can learn the art and other important character builders like discipline, respect and commitment. Participating in classes is an investment in your child! We love Martial Arts USA.
Jay Davis: My boyfriend goes here & I've gone once & all the instructors are so nice. I asked one of them who doesn't know me to send me videos of my boyfriend in class so I could show his grandma & he was awesome about it. He sent me a bunch & they are always so nice to me & I'm not even a student. My boyfriend loves all them & the training.
Trena Greene: We are so happy we found MAUSA! Each student gets individual help on techniques. I have been overwhelmed by the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. Not only are they a Black Belt School, but they are consistent in helping to build character in our children.
Gail Whiting: Martial Arts USA is an amazing school for my kids and I to attend. The instructors are very helpful and the classes are fun and informational. Not only do you learn how to box, kick, spar, self defense, and break boards, but it's a great place to make friends and earn a second family. We have been doing classes here for about 2 1/2 years and still loving it and learning lots. I was skeptical before I started thinking that this would not be for me, but I tried it and loved it from the start. It has given me and my kids confidence that we can do whatever we put our minds to. Thank you Mr. C and staff for giving us a wonderful school and for making us feel at home and cared for, and for helping us with that positive mindset that we can do it.
Alicia: Two years ago our son decided he wanted to try karate. We figured he would try it out and lose interest like so many other things. We were wrong! We started with Martial Arts USA and that was it, he was hooked! Two years later and he loves it even more! They have taught him so much more than just moves, he has learned respect, patience, and self confidence. He has also been taught self defense, he now knows how to escape if someone tries to grab him! It is an amazing school with an amazing owner and amazing instructors! They are like a family here and treat the kids like they are their own. They genuinely care. I am so glad we found Martial Arts USA, My only regret is not signing him up sooner!!
Kathryn Gold: We love MAUSA! The instructors are positive and caring. They are quick to praise and when needed, kind in their correction. They have high expectations without being unreasonable. I love that they have created a safe place for my daughter to stretch, be challenged and grow. I am also amazed at the friendships I have developed with the instructors and other parents. We really are like a big family!

Rhema Sanders: Most amazing Martial Art Dojo ever!!!!
Jessica Whittemore: My son has been going here for around 7 months and we love it. He has learned so much and gained so much confidence. Having the group lessons, as well as private lessons, has really helped him build his skills and memorize all the different moves.
Justin and Jenny Mantonya (Justin Jenny Mantonya): Sensi Kyle is great. He is patient yet firm with the kids. Great place.
Robyn Dix: This a program that has helped to build confidence in our children. Kyle has been a great leader for the class and has the patience needed to work with kids. So much so I've started attending myself just to keep up with him. Sensei Kyle and his team are great! Highly recommend
John Ray: I’m new to the team and I’m very impressed with Sensei Kyle and the dojo. I’ve checked out a variety of other places, but here you’ll not only find the best value, but you’ll get to train with a highly skilled, technically talented Sensei who provides a very hands on experience and a challenge to those of all skill levels. I’m a BB in another martial art and thankful that I found this place, realizing I have so much left to learn! Thanks Sensei Kyle!
Anon: Training under Mr. Sturges has taught me lifelong lessons, outside of martial arts.
Rad Nomad: I have recently started training here at Dynamic Edge and it has been a wonderful experience. Age is not a factor, from kids to adults there's something for everyone. The teachers and classes are top notch and the students are all friendly and helpful. It already feels like I am part of the family! The classes vary, so there is something for everyone and you will learn "street-smart" self-defense styles, among many other techniques. I am also a big fan of their approach to strengthen the body by mixing in various exercises programs. I recommend Dynamic Edge to anyone thinking about joining a martial arts studio for self defense training or simply wanting to get in shape.
Simon Willoughby: It's a wonderful and exciting experience to be at Dynamic Edge. The instructors and participants are very kind, skillful, and great to be around, I enjoy learning from everyone there, meeting great new people, and learning many incredible things.
Dawn H: I really like the people at Dynamic Edge. The classes are great and I have learned so much.

Kokoro Training Academy: what do users think?
Michael Duncan: I can’t say enough good things about this place… The instructors are top notch individuals that make you feel welcome from the very beginning. The culture this gym provides is appealing to all walks of life. I can’t think of a better place to start a new journey towards personal improvement. Highly recommend this place.

Ryan Reed: Best BJJ gym in town
Vernon Stern: Its an awesome place they make every person welcomed
Larry Phillips: Kokoro is a great place to learn life skills, I didn't know much about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu before giving this a try. Jiu Jitsu is one of the hardest things I have ever done, but the coaches here firstly make you feel safe, and will meet you at your level. As someone that came in feeling overwhelmed that was appreciated. the facility is great, very clean and kept up. Showers are available and safe to use. The gym members are also great, they don't seem to look down on new comers and are all willing to teach little tricks of the trade as well.
Corey Johnson: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueAs a beginner, the instructors are patient and thorough. The facility is clean and the sense of community is strong. If you are interested in learning or continuing your practice of Jiu Jitsu, I highly recommend Kokoro Training Academy.
Dakota Rhodes: I’ve been here for a few weeks now, and cannot be more impressed by Steve, Sam, and the rest of the coaches/trainers here. Every person I’ve had an interaction with on the mats have been great, no ego here like most BJJ gyms in the area. If you’ve been on the fence to try BJJ, or had a bad experience elsewhere, I urge you to come here and you will not want to be anywhere else.
Melanie Wilson: So fun and such supportive instructors and classmates!
Josiah Mann: Correct.
Chris Nemeth: Amazing instructors. Family owned with a family environment. My kids (10&11) go too and have thrived as a result. Confidence increased. Strength increased. Skill increased. Absolutely love this place.
Lucas Martinez: Best place to train. Best gym culture around.
Lucas Thach: This is an amazing family. Words can’t describe how great all the people there are. from day one not knowing anything about jujitsu to the journey that I am now on. This place will change your life.
Justin Williams: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Jarid Bowers: Positive:Professionalism,QualityA great place to train for a true jiujitsu experience.
Jared Klatte: Supervised by 3rd degree black belt and starting at only $40 a month, best school in town
Loguen Lewis: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,ValueI am so happy I found Kokoro! It's like my home away from home. Everyone is so warm and welcoming. The love for the game is unmistakable. I highly reccomend stopping by!
Justin Virtue: Great place for BJJ. Super beginner friendly. Come join the family!
Sunflower Wave: Great teachers , great training partners . Come in and change your life !
Joshua Boley: I have been training here for over a year and a half. I had kickboxer 20 years prior but had never done Jiu Jitsu. In short the team at Kokoro has made my life better. I'm in better shape and it's a great way to relieve stress. The team becomes friends outside if the gym as well. Coach Steve is a solid instructor and patient. You will not be disappointed if you try this place.
Claire B: The instructors at Kokoro make this jiujitsu gym the best in Springfield. They are very knowledgeable and are passionate about everyone being able to enjoy jiujitsu, no matter the skill level. The community is fun and passionate. Jiujitsu can be challenging in the beginning but this gym makes the practice much more approachable!

THRIVE Martial Arts: what do users think?
Alisha Grace: I need to brag on my bugs karate progress for a moment! She is doing so well and and learning so much so fast. Any opportunity she gets to brag on herself or show people what she knows she takes it. She has been trying so hard. She pays attention and is focused (most of the time. She's a kid lol) she gets excited to go to her classes and gets upset when she misses one. Im so proud of how she's doing and wanting to stay with it. She tests for a new belt at the end of March (yellow belt) and we couldn't be more excited for her. All of this is because of her awesome teachers and helpers at Thrive Martial Arts. They not only push them but they make it fun.
Amber Galindo: My daughter has been going here for the past three years and has no desire to quit. Thanks to the wonderful people here, she now has a “go get ‘em” mentality, looks forward to every challenge, and she aspires to be a sansei of her own school some day. I love the leadership they are teaching her and the confidence she continues to build. Her younger brother even had his birthday party here, and it was a ton of fun! Highly recommend it here!
Chloe F. Baby: Great place to build character and self esteem!
debra buckner: My Grandson attended this schools 4 years ago when it was k 5.0 academy of martial arts . The first 2 years were good then it just went down hill I put alot of money and my grandson put alot of hard work and years into this school which basically turned into a preschool ,he was constantly held back or test put off because of the ones who didnt practice.after struggling the last year over what to do as my grandson was starting to lose his passion and being kept stagment we decided to take a loss of those years and try find another dojo.when I informed Mr.Lane he started accusing me of taking bribes from other instructors to leave it was very disturbing. I told my grandson if he started getting angry to film it as I had witnessed his temper before he had lost his temper before in front of kids and parents before .I started questioning him being a role model. when he saw he was being recorded he cussed at us told us to leave and never step foot on his property again. That was uncalled for and as a martial artist he should have wished Seth well with his future.I can only hope Thrive is better than he ran k 5.0 but I saw a old review that is still up of mine and want everyone to know it was old review and not meant for his new Thrive Martial arts as I cant give a review for a place I've never attended.
Avante Frasier: While we did go to K5, we never attended their new business called Thrive, so the review from past is not accurate. the first year of K5 was great, however, the morals and policy kept changing constantly to accommodate a few parents that wanted their kids to belt up even when they did not practice like others or learn the material. Parents complained, all kids gets to belt up, regardless. Not fair to the few that really studied and practiced.. when the instructor loses the will and passion to be there and teach, the students no longer want to attend or care either. The best thing about K5 in the end, the few friendships we made and bonds some of our kids formed. Not too mention being pushed to buy the Nary Kay products and always nickel and diming you for everything. We also did not like the required missions that were started after we had been already going there. The kids spent too much time doing homework and chores and not enough Kenpo. We paid for them to learn the Kenpo not “how to be polite and do chores” some of us already have children that are well behaved and disciplined, I did not need to pay $179 Monthly to spend 6-8 hrs of physical writing homework when he had 4-5 daily from school. It took the fun and interest away from them. Hopefully with the new business they have learned but from the looks of this. I don’t think so. We were also supposed to have a great elite 10person bushido team, parents and other students got offended so we kept being charged monthly for the group we were chosen for, but learned absolutely nothing. Lots of promises made to our kids, but none kept. One of the required missions was to give a 5* start review, required for belt testing. Very disappointed in the end.
Jennifer Heinrichs: My kids absolutely loved it. $42 for 2 weeks, 1 time a week, up to 15 to 45 minutes. Kids earned karate outfits and boards after second time, they are so proud of themselves.. but I truly wish we would afford $ for 3 children to keep going but the problem is contract for 12 month and $407 a month for THREE kids with family discount. That stopped everything for us... I love those people, they are absolutely amazing people. Truly wish it's affordable place just like YMCA.
Jeff Jones: Fantastic! Kenpo 5.0 is a great system and very practical. The instructor and staff are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the martial arts.
Michelle Bowers: LOVE the people had a blast in the class and well worth the 2 1/2 hour drive. Very willing to work with you even if you live quite a distance so you can still take classes.
Brooklynn Roberts: This was one of my favorite places I loved it and wish I didn't quit
Vince “CannaPLUS” Galindo: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMy daughter is a student here and she absolutely loves it. The Lanes are phenomenal people and they really are an extended family to us. My daughter is always excited about going to classes, she has fun, and her confidence is building every single day. My only regret is that we did not sign her up here sooner.
Jonathan Evans: Love the place my youngest boy start there from a group on and love it so much he has stayed with it and the instructor are very caring and respectful and highly trained in martial arts
Adam Boster: High quality instruction here at this long standing icon of professionalism! As a black belt I highly recommend learning from the leaders at this amazing school. The presence and sense of family in the middle of a motivating, disciplined environment makes this place a hidden gem. Be ready to learn some serious street smart skills here!!
Chris Westmoreland: Kiedis: "I love this place and Mr. Lane, Mrs. Lane and Miss Lydia are amazing. Mr. Lane is Oh Captain, my Captain!"This place has been a real blessing for my 5 year old. He loves it very much. One year ago he was shy and timid, but now he's got confidence and a no-quit attitude. I'm so very proud of the things he's done here and looking forward to the things ahead.
Travis Bradbury: Outstanding instructors and a very welcoming community.
Christina Pritchett: We have been apart of K5 for over a year now. My kiddo went from being afraid of riding the bus (due to bullies) to being confident enough TO ride the bus. Not only is his confidence growing but so is his self control! He has gained so much from the staff at K5! Every one of the staff memebers truly care about the kiddos and their families. They take the time to be invested in their lives. No matter what’s going on. I won’t take him anywhere else.
Beverly Tyler: The owners Mr and Mrs Lane take their job very seriously they go above and beyond for the children during a good safe place with constructive discipline
Melissa Vdl: We loved our experience at K5 Academy of Martial Arts on Sunshine. The Lane family is super kind, committed to their students' growth and success, awesome at training kids in respect and proper self-defense while NOT advocating fighting whatsoever. We didn't stay beyond the six-week promotion, but I would absolutely consider this being a regular part of my boys' education in the future. Highly recommended.
Xiaoning Hu: My son Jaden loves Mr. Lane, he’s the best in town. Absolutely amazing place and staff for kids!!
Emily Payne: A perfect mix of fun and discipline! My son has gained more than just knowledge of kenpo, he now has a strong male role model and confidence about handling real-life situations. Mr Lane's goals for the kids are attainable and achievements are highly celebrated. We consider the Lane's a part of our family!
Stacey Powell: Micah was 4 and Mr Lane's first student. He is now 9 and an Advanced Blue Belt. I am very thankful for all Mr Lane has done. Micah and Mr Lane have a special bond.
