THRIVE Martial Arts: what do users think?
Alisha Grace: I need to brag on my bugs karate progress for a moment! She is doing so well and and learning so much so fast. Any opportunity she gets to brag on herself or show people what she knows she takes it. She has been trying so hard. She pays attention and is focused (most of the time. She's a kid lol) she gets excited to go to her classes and gets upset when she misses one. Im so proud of how she's doing and wanting to stay with it. She tests for a new belt at the end of March (yellow belt) and we couldn't be more excited for her. All of this is because of her awesome teachers and helpers at Thrive Martial Arts. They not only push them but they make it fun.
Amber Galindo: My daughter has been going here for the past three years and has no desire to quit. Thanks to the wonderful people here, she now has a “go get ‘em” mentality, looks forward to every challenge, and she aspires to be a sansei of her own school some day. I love the leadership they are teaching her and the confidence she continues to build. Her younger brother even had his birthday party here, and it was a ton of fun! Highly recommend it here!
Chloe F. Baby: Great place to build character and self esteem!
debra buckner: My Grandson attended this schools 4 years ago when it was k 5.0 academy of martial arts . The first 2 years were good then it just went down hill I put alot of money and my grandson put alot of hard work and years into this school which basically turned into a preschool ,he was constantly held back or test put off because of the ones who didnt practice.after struggling the last year over what to do as my grandson was starting to lose his passion and being kept stagment we decided to take a loss of those years and try find another dojo.when I informed Mr.Lane he started accusing me of taking bribes from other instructors to leave it was very disturbing. I told my grandson if he started getting angry to film it as I had witnessed his temper before he had lost his temper before in front of kids and parents before .I started questioning him being a role model. when he saw he was being recorded he cussed at us told us to leave and never step foot on his property again. That was uncalled for and as a martial artist he should have wished Seth well with his future.I can only hope Thrive is better than he ran k 5.0 but I saw a old review that is still up of mine and want everyone to know it was old review and not meant for his new Thrive Martial arts as I cant give a review for a place I've never attended.
Avante Frasier: While we did go to K5, we never attended their new business called Thrive, so the review from past is not accurate. the first year of K5 was great, however, the morals and policy kept changing constantly to accommodate a few parents that wanted their kids to belt up even when they did not practice like others or learn the material. Parents complained, all kids gets to belt up, regardless. Not fair to the few that really studied and practiced.. when the instructor loses the will and passion to be there and teach, the students no longer want to attend or care either. The best thing about K5 in the end, the few friendships we made and bonds some of our kids formed. Not too mention being pushed to buy the Nary Kay products and always nickel and diming you for everything. We also did not like the required missions that were started after we had been already going there. The kids spent too much time doing homework and chores and not enough Kenpo. We paid for them to learn the Kenpo not “how to be polite and do chores” some of us already have children that are well behaved and disciplined, I did not need to pay $179 Monthly to spend 6-8 hrs of physical writing homework when he had 4-5 daily from school. It took the fun and interest away from them. Hopefully with the new business they have learned but from the looks of this. I don’t think so. We were also supposed to have a great elite 10person bushido team, parents and other students got offended so we kept being charged monthly for the group we were chosen for, but learned absolutely nothing. Lots of promises made to our kids, but none kept. One of the required missions was to give a 5* start review, required for belt testing. Very disappointed in the end.
Jennifer Heinrichs: My kids absolutely loved it. $42 for 2 weeks, 1 time a week, up to 15 to 45 minutes. Kids earned karate outfits and boards after second time, they are so proud of themselves.. but I truly wish we would afford $ for 3 children to keep going but the problem is contract for 12 month and $407 a month for THREE kids with family discount. That stopped everything for us... I love those people, they are absolutely amazing people. Truly wish it's affordable place just like YMCA.
Jeff Jones: Fantastic! Kenpo 5.0 is a great system and very practical. The instructor and staff are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the martial arts.
Michelle Bowers: LOVE the people had a blast in the class and well worth the 2 1/2 hour drive. Very willing to work with you even if you live quite a distance so you can still take classes.
Brooklynn Roberts: This was one of my favorite places I loved it and wish I didn't quit
Vince “CannaPLUS” Galindo: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMy daughter is a student here and she absolutely loves it. The Lanes are phenomenal people and they really are an extended family to us. My daughter is always excited about going to classes, she has fun, and her confidence is building every single day. My only regret is that we did not sign her up here sooner.
Jonathan Evans: Love the place my youngest boy start there from a group on and love it so much he has stayed with it and the instructor are very caring and respectful and highly trained in martial arts
Adam Boster: High quality instruction here at this long standing icon of professionalism! As a black belt I highly recommend learning from the leaders at this amazing school. The presence and sense of family in the middle of a motivating, disciplined environment makes this place a hidden gem. Be ready to learn some serious street smart skills here!!
Chris Westmoreland: Kiedis: "I love this place and Mr. Lane, Mrs. Lane and Miss Lydia are amazing. Mr. Lane is Oh Captain, my Captain!"This place has been a real blessing for my 5 year old. He loves it very much. One year ago he was shy and timid, but now he's got confidence and a no-quit attitude. I'm so very proud of the things he's done here and looking forward to the things ahead.
Travis Bradbury: Outstanding instructors and a very welcoming community.
Christina Pritchett: We have been apart of K5 for over a year now. My kiddo went from being afraid of riding the bus (due to bullies) to being confident enough TO ride the bus. Not only is his confidence growing but so is his self control! He has gained so much from the staff at K5! Every one of the staff memebers truly care about the kiddos and their families. They take the time to be invested in their lives. No matter what’s going on. I won’t take him anywhere else.
Beverly Tyler: The owners Mr and Mrs Lane take their job very seriously they go above and beyond for the children during a good safe place with constructive discipline
Melissa Vdl: We loved our experience at K5 Academy of Martial Arts on Sunshine. The Lane family is super kind, committed to their students' growth and success, awesome at training kids in respect and proper self-defense while NOT advocating fighting whatsoever. We didn't stay beyond the six-week promotion, but I would absolutely consider this being a regular part of my boys' education in the future. Highly recommended.
Xiaoning Hu: My son Jaden loves Mr. Lane, he’s the best in town. Absolutely amazing place and staff for kids!!
Emily Payne: A perfect mix of fun and discipline! My son has gained more than just knowledge of kenpo, he now has a strong male role model and confidence about handling real-life situations. Mr Lane's goals for the kids are attainable and achievements are highly celebrated. We consider the Lane's a part of our family!
Stacey Powell: Micah was 4 and Mr Lane's first student. He is now 9 and an Advanced Blue Belt. I am very thankful for all Mr Lane has done. Micah and Mr Lane have a special bond.
