Mercy Hospital Springfield: what do users think?
Larry Colwell: Transported there from Joplin with torn spleen and broken ribs. They put me in a room w elderly man with dementia who was disoriented and loud vocallly to the point of keeping me awake. After some time at 2:20 I requested a new room. After several complaints I was moved at at 9:20. Between 2:20 and 9:30 NONE of my meds were issued
Tra Jones: I was kidnapped, tortured, and drugged, by Michael Tipsord, Mercy Hospital, and criminals paid by Michael Tipsord for a month and a week in a building rented by Michael Tipsord. Mercy hospital has refused to help me and because of it I have been tortured without my adhd & anxiety medicine for years. Ever since I stopped receiving care at Mercy Crestwood in St. Louis my experience with Mercy has almost cost me my life. All of it was recorded and Mercy allowed Michael Tipsord to put hidden cameras in the doctors offices so he could watch my appointments. They also gave him access to the hospitals cameras.
Sydney Routh: Dismisses patients without listening as to why they are being seen, rude nurses, bad staff and bad attitudes. Will never be a Mercy patient ever again. This whole hospital and its clinics are lawsuits in the making. Don’t waste your time, especially if you’re disabled like me. Absolutely horrendous treatment by staff/nurses. Doctors are rude too. Definitely a big no.
Brenda Wilcox: ER waiting room is terrible!! My 80 yr old step dad has been in the waiting room for over 24 hours now because they say they have no rooms available, according to one of the staff the reason no rooms are available is because they don’t have enough staff. One of the nurses was even passing out a pamphlet and telling people to call that number and complain because they are sick of being short staffed too. My step dad was sent by his VA Dr after seeing his results of an EKG, Dr said go straight to ER. I guess Mercy doesn’t think their patients are really sick or don’t care about how long they have to wait as long as they save money by not having enough staff… It’s a sad world when health of a person isn’t priority in a hospital.Edited to add someone did reach out to me, but only asked if they could have the patients number to speak with them, which I did give but they never called them. I think their comment on review was just for show. The sisters would be ashamed of this place now.
Leslie Hardy (Shorty): This place is deplorable. Waited seven hours before even getting into a room then another hour before being seen. The hospital was absolutely disgusting as far as cleanliness. The smell, mixed with the stained carpets and blood splatters and grime on the floor was enough to make my stomach turn. I felt terrible for the kids that were working there it was so understaffed and no one seemed to know what they were doing. I will never ever ever return here and I don't recommend anybody else take their loved ones here either.
Garett Gutierrez: Worst ER experience of my life this is the 3rd time I have had to go to Mercy ER and every time has been worse then the last..Wait times are extremely long, the staff are clueless .. I have waited to make a comment in hopes I just had some bad luck but it the hospital.. I would say borderline malpractice having wait times in excess of 12 hours ...
Bob Miller: Mercy thanks for everything. I have been suffering leg and foot pain for ten and a 4 hour procedure today and I'm now pain free.Thank you and a job well done.
Heather Ruble: I'm not a fan anymore I used to only go there but it's lost so much in humanity and kindness however with that being said I took my grandson there lastnight he's 3 months old and we got the best dr in that place and we just adore her she is very kind genuine and puts patient first very attentive I could go on and on thank you dr Sampson for being you you've seen both my grandsons and for a yr now you've been the same fun loving caring dr who is just awesome we adore you
Myron L. “Mr. T” Boyd: Love it and they take very good care of myself
Lisa Mosher: Mercy has the worst ER. It is very poorly ran. And if you need an ER try Cox they may be better ran I had had been living in the bathroom for several days. I called my Dr. The said go to urgent care. Urgent care said cause I was so weak go to the ER. ER is so broken. You don't care how bad someone is you leave them sitting out there for more then 12 hours. You have diabetic people coming in who can be sitting there like that. My daughter lives in WV. There are two hospital close by. If they are busy they will tell people to go to urgent care. It helps free up the ER you just tell people you don't no how long it will be so they can make a decision. .people need to have some choice in there health care and you don't give them tose choices. There are a lot of people waisting the ER time who could go to urgent care.have you though about putting an urgent care in the hospital that would be open 24hours I will never go to mercy ER again. I can't have my time waist sitting there when I could better spend it in my Owen bed dying
Kristen O'Hara: *****Please note the abundance of negative reviews below. I got tired of scrolling and liking them, there are so many. Also, note the pat PR response. It is a public CYA. They do nothing to help you. The client concern hotline is a young girl trained to repeat answers word for word. One review is correct. There ARE good people in the system. I was privileged to talk to a few. They are the exception in a weak and incompetent overall system. Perhaps this place can handle “urgent care” matters??? Common cold, splinters, uncomplicated cases like strep, easily cured with a simple test and an antibiotic. I wouldn’t recommend seeking support for anything more severe.*Completely agree with the “if I could give it a zero” review. I am a mental health counselor. My mother was in the middle of a psychotic episode with violent behaviors and dangerous accusations. Dr. Recommended no release. However a charge nurse on duty, in the middle of a 96 hour involuntary hold due to mental unwellness, physical assault and threats of violence, decided she was safe to release. AMA. Of course, since it is big business health industry, I am getting a complete run around. And they can claim Hippa privacy since my mother now hates me for checking her in and would NEVER sign a release. I was rudely hung up on, transferred to endless dead end PC PR, and have no answers as the who released my mother and why. It is blatant negligence. Do NOT count on this hospital as a resource for mental health support. They are either uneducated, under resourced, or they just don’t care. But don’t worry. They have “the system” behind them, so I will just suffer their ineptness with no actions, because I am just “one annoying voice” to disregard and silence.
Jamie Holford: I told the staff at mercy I have a guardian, they told me I had to wear these green scrubs. They also took my belongings I took to keep me busy away, even all my clothing. I felt I was treated like a psyche patient. I will not be going there again.
Nancy Ketron: As of today, May 17, 2023 I STILL HAVE HAD NO ONE CONTACT ME FROM THE HOSPITAL! After my review below my mother had a heart attack, blood clots in both lungs and one leg! I bet this could have been avoided if she had seen a do for an December!!!Went to Mercy ER with my mom (a stroke patient) by ambulance yesterday. Waited over 11 hours, never saw a Dr., never got any tests results and we left because we get tired of being lied to. The nuns are crying about how terrible and money grubbing this hospital has become. 😰😰😰Was contacted by Mercy that they would contact me as of today January 26 - NO CONTACT!!!!
Laura Jane DeHart: Mercy ER was a terrible experience. I have always had such high standards for Mercy. That is not the case with the ER department at this time. I am not saying it is their fault, from what I understand the hospital side does not discharge on the weekends which makes the ER department backup on Saturday and Sunday. Please have whoever is running the place put a small team together so that there can be discharges at ALL times and hopefully things will run faster and smoother for the patients and the staff.
Susie Shippy: Honestly as sick as I was I feel it was about the best they could give me.
Belynda Scott: My son Chris was in there for 6 weeks and lost a leg. He got shotty care and at a little over 7 weeks he passed away because of discontinued IV medicines. I won't ever use Mercy again
BD Skeleton: Almost unbelievable how bad it was I am basically traumatized from it my experience was bad 😞Too bad they don't know how to do their job not a safe environment!! 😔
Burst Out Beys: Yes we are never coming back to this hospital the simple fact is they play games they are very evil they don't care about the patience in the reality is that the doctor are the sick one. the nurses will play with my pain medicine after surgery knowing that I have more surgeries to come in the crazy thing is my discharge twice was not good and safe so basically what I'm trying to say is very poor healthIt's sad but turn 😔
Karen Ramirez: do better abby
Jacqueline Wasson: I have been a patient at Mercy in Cassville, Mo., Aurora, Mo., and Carthage, Mo., with no issues. But today we brought my 82 yr old Aunt to the Oral Surgeon in Springfield, Mo., because her Dentist said that she needed to be seen immediately. We saw the Oral surgeon & he said the same thing as the Dentist they suspect cancer in her jaws. We were instructed that we need to take her to Mercy ER in Springfield immediately, I said "Good, I like Mercy. We arrived at 4 pm tonight and now at 11:40 pm she is still waiting to see a Dr.!!! People puking in cups everywhere & waiting in almost Diabetic comas!! I would not bring my dog here! This is terrible.
Ashley Robinson: My daughter was taken to the ER there via ambulance today with severe psychosis. The Dr, nurses, and all staff were beyond caring and compassionate to both my daughter and me. Such an amazing change from any other ER I've ever been to. I know my daughter is in good hands.

Mercy Emergency Department - Springfield: what do users think?
Sarah Wanders: Waited 5 hrs was never seen. do better.
Jessica Merten-Schmidt: Go to cox. You’ll save yourself 5 hours.
C Stegall: Very long wait time that's crazy.....you'll probably be half dead before you get seen
Frances Crawford: 14+ hour wait for anyone my fiance was have bleeding and cramps and being 6 weeks pregnant took them 4+ hours to even check on the baby for them it's money first patients last mercy doesn't care about it's patients just there wallets.
Ulises Silva: Demasiado tiempo para atender alos pacientes q yegan demasiado enfermos
Kelly Callahan: If I could give a lower score than one star, I would. My husband spent 17 hours laying on the ER floor in extreme pain and never saw a doctor. There were other patients (elderly) who had been there 20 hours when we left and went to Cox. Cox ER got us in four hours. Mercy is a misnomer.
Bailey Barker: After having to one time sign out AMA due to lack of care, I had to return to mercy emergency today after being told mercy urgent care refused to see my son.A nurse who claimed to have experience with children with autism forcibly held my son down and shoved medication into his teeth. I offered multiple times to take the tablet and administer it myself. She ignored me and continued to force that Zofran onto his teeth. I had to help hold him down so he didn't hit himself or anyone else trying to get away from that woman. A doctor came in and evaluated him to the best of her abilities, even allowing me to help with the exam to keep him calm. She was poverty. But she is the only positive portion of this garbage trip to mercy ER. An hour after a doctor tells me my son is okay and they won't give me discharge papers. Yall act like frustrated parents are the problem, when you're forcing people to stay in hospital rooms until vomiting toddlers eat? Please, get a hold of yourselves.
Virgil Taylor: Nurses didn't intervene until my seizure was over and then tried to send me back to the waiting room. I'd rather die at home alone then die there alone. My previous visit I had a seizure that sent my heart rate to 145 so my boyfriend hit the nurse button and it took a while for anyone to even check if I was conscious. Now I've been becoming unconscious and stopping breathing, which I told the nurse checking in this time. Over 30 seconds of seizuring outside the front desk before anyone even checked on me, and then told me I should go back to the waiting room when I couldn't even hold my own head up.Some staff really does their best, others shouldn't have their license for risking the safety of their patients.
Tabitha G: Nurses are very kind and so are doctors. But it's unsanitary entirely. Sick people laying in the lobby chairs, dirty bathrooms, they literally had me carry my urine cup to the front desk for everyone in the lobby to see. How is this a sterile environment ?
Patrick Planer: Arrived by ambulance at approximately 6 p.m. within 15 to 30 minutes saw the nurse. Believe to have suffered stroke. Also have ICD and was concerned about the possibility of another heart attack. Had blood drawn. after 3 hours of sitting in waiting room with no contact with anyone went to front desk checked out and left. Sad state of affairs for an emergency room
Willow Morris: After visiting this ER and waiting hours, I now know why this ER gets such low ratings and reviews. When this many people rate it one star, there is a problem that needs to be addressed.
S Full9001: It's been 24 hours and I'm still in the waiting room. Not the only one. You come in with shortness of breath when you walk, they don't test it. Chest pain, ask you about it once. Can't think they can get an IV in you, so they don't try or pass it off to someone else for later. And stick and stick and stick. And still you wait. Which is what I'm doing. Not for lack of trying. Maybe I should've gone home, but it's my life. And here I still wait.Update, waited 26 hours was told I wasn't critical enough and would keep being pushed, so I left. Like so many others did the whole time I was there. They even admitted that it wasn't right. But still did nothing to help me. At all.You would have to Force me to go back there. Unconconcious.
Chandler Turnmire: If I could give zero stars I would!!!My sister was in the waiting room for 11 hours while PUKING UP BLOOD and only one test being done!!! Waited 4-5 hours for a CT scan to be done all for people to go in front of her!!!! HER SYMPTOMS WORSENED THE ENTIRE TIME!!!! TOOK THEM 3 HOURS TO GIVE HER A NAUSEA PILL THAT SHE ASKED FOR 3 TIMES!!!!!Ignored my sister and her medical needs!!!HORRIBLE!!! DO BETTER!!!!
cole kibbey: Been here for 19.5 hrs, would not even let me bring a cot to sleep on. Was told at Bolivar mercy needed emergency surgery ( apparently not that emergency significant). The least they could do is let everyone know approx wait time so maybe the ones that don't want to stay can leave. The staff have been friendly, I know they are just doing their job, but mercy as a system SUCKS. And I don't wanna get one of their automated " we are sorry for inconvenience please email or call to leave a detailed review" I won't fill it out yall need to review yourselves!
Mizku11: It is very sad seeing what this hospital has become. My wife and I left after 13 hours in the emergency room; we never saw a physician. What was once a top hospital nationally, Mercy has become a beacon for dissatisfaction
Tonjia Price: Used to be a really nice place now it's a dump and very unorganized I waited 5 hours and finally left it's really awful
Kay Danae: Waited over 4 hours when having a miscarriage. No excuse for that in my opinion.
Valerie Cox: Absolutely worst e.r. experience EVER. 12 HOUR WAIT for kidney stones....and we still aren't in! Can you do negative stars?
Ulrich Morningstar: I spent over six hours before I left. I traveled to Emergency Rooms in third world countries. I will tell you that the third world countries emergency room is 100x better.First of all it looks like it is lacking maintenance and upkeep. Looks like the place hasn't been deep clean or not once did they ever clean anything in-between patients. Not even a single wipe down. The in-take staff was extremely rude. Along with several other staff taking vitals was rude & unprofessional as well. They never addressed my issue but wanted to do a bunch of unnecessary tests. They wanted to keep me for 12-16 more hours before I left without eating and sitting in the waiting room.I gathered from talking to someone who has been waiting almost 20 hours without being treated. By the time I left the nurse at the desk was talking needing help to discharge over 18 people who walked out with notice. If I had to wait to get my IV removed I would just take it out myself and walked out.In short you better off taking changes dying the streets then here.
Garrett Capra: Do NOT go here unless you want to sit and wait for care for hours on end. I have never had a bad experience with MERCY until last week. I just finished typing a comment out to the hospital or I would put more detail here. Horrible nurses, horrible waiting room, horrible experience as a whole.
Donavon Kalebaugh: My son is 5 months old and sick and we have been sitting in waitin for over a hour don’t bring your family here

CoxHealth Medical Center South: what do users think?
Audrey Belden: Went in for severe back pain that had been going on for a week. Unable to walk upright, unable to sit for more than a few minutes. Neuropathy started a few days after. My feet and legs hurt from the tingling. Being discharged without any pain management and even more discouraging, without even bothering to find the root of the problem or a solution. But don’t worry friends, sent me home with education to seek medical attention if I have x, y, z symptoms…..which is why I went to get help in the first place.
Sammy Lea: Terrible! Do NOT GO TO THE ER.My 4 year old son and I waited in the emergency room for 4 hours, with him bleeding from his nose and ears and coughing up blood. We went to a hospital the day prior and they told us his skull was cracked, but the bleeding wouldn't stop so we went here. Apparently a 4 year old with a cracked skull isn't enough for them to hurry, do not go to this place. Go to mercy 10000%.
Dee Reid: Watch a nurse pull strings get ppl back at 1230 am when they was gonna leave. But I having issues breathing exerted n still setting in waiting room 7 hrs now. Not helping me get bk so they do what want for who they want in emergency room up front
Will Stubblefield: Wanted say thank to everyone at the hospital Doctor,Nurses every one.I came transported from Cox Monett to you for intencare and all of you were fantastic folks and you saved my life.I had failure to breathe and even though I was definitely sick I knew in my heart you would save me and make me well as possible and you did.Thank you.
Amanda Dixon: They do so well, from the Nurses to the Dr., to even the security officers. Kudos to you all! It sure helps when you all are so nice to the family/friends of patients as well.
Hannah Parnell: My mom is in the hospital. On multiple occasions her food has been forgotten to be given to her and left to sit, the wrong diet has been sent to her and she has had to wait more hours including a shift change to get food after a biopsy was done on her. She almost went 24 hours with out being fed or given a drink other than something my father went to get her. Mind you she is in renal failure.
Rick Cox: Canceled our neck surgery without any notice and cost us over $1000 OUT OF POCKET for hotel nights and plane tickets.
Darlene Medina: Do not feel their response was adequate I had a procedure 3 days ago still waiting for my results leave message no answer very frustrating
David Tucker: Daughter nearly lost her life in a canoe accident. Everybody from Cox Ambulance to the ER to the doctors were amazing. We are from out of town, so obviously insurance was "out of network". CoxHealth chose to accept our out of network insurance's payment and the out of network insurances contractual amount on 3 of the 4 bills, but on the 4th bill, did not leaving my daughter to pay over $10,000. When I called CoxHealth, they stated that that is a common practice to not accept an out of network insurance's contractual allowance, instead sticking the patient with the entire bill. I agree completely to the charge my insurance says we should owe, but the provider does not care about people using out of network insurance.
Gina B.: After being seen in Mercy's ER 3 times in 2 weeks, given fluids and sent home (they could have cared less) I went to Cox the 4th time. Boy am I glad I did! I had been having bloody diarrhea and nausea for several weeks and was in critical shape. As soon as I arrived at Cox they were on it. I was admitted almost immediately. They literally saved my life. I am so thankful to the staff that tended to me! Thank you!!
Jacqueline Mosqueda: If CoxHealth Medical Center was a game of Clueless, the 7th floor nurses would win. They are clueless about patient care, patient rights, well, anything having to do with patients. Yet, they are excellent at creating the atmosphere of a junior high pajama party. The drama, the bickering, the sugar highs and lows, the lack of adult supervision . Just a bunch of Clueless Cox cash cows playing with other peoples' lives.
Billy Fitzgerald: Great care. Made me feel like I truly mattered. Not just another person.I was really blessed to have been helped by this great staff.
Melissa Glor: We brought my husband to the ER after he blacked out and lost consciousness. We have been waiting to be called back to an ER room for 8 hours with no indication of when it will actually happen. It should not be this difficult to get medical care and attention! Cox needs to do way better!! This is absolutely outrageous.
Shan man 82: Doctor Carr of Anesthesia done an amazing job from first contact to last follow up. I believe Doctor Carr deserves a reward, and recognition for his fantastic work and dedication. Thank you
Dave Dambrosio: 7hrs waiting room. Dirty uncomfortable no water in machine. Just disgusting. Please don’t thank me for my comments, as they will be used to make things better. It won’t and you won’t. Was told I was dehydrated really? That’s not what I was there for. I will never return. The VA is much better. Just Sad.
865 Dent Lab: I'm writing this while sitting in the cardiovascular ICU.Dr. Zolfaghari and his staff are absolutely incredible. He's a solid surgeon and an even better human. Knowing my dad is being worked on by the best heart team in the area means the world to us.The cardiac ICU is full of great people. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. His nurses have been very comforting and informative during this entire process. Thank y'all for giving my dad years more of life and ensuring he's around to see his grandkids continue to grow. When it's game time, this place knows the playbook better than anyone else. A Google review doesn't begin to express our thankfulness and gratitude.
Crystal Baird: No one seems to know what is going on! And when you ask questions or ask someone else for answers they get angry and defensive. There is no compassion or concern and they just focus on passing the blame.
Carla Urbano: Horrible care. Rude and incompetent Doctors. All they want is money.Worst care anywhere.I've been lied to and scammed into unnecessary procedures.I will never
Jeanne Thomas: My father is currently in Cox South, Springfield. He's on the second floor in room 203, bed 2. We live an hour away, and gas money is tight. I keep calling to get updates and every time they tell me his nurse is unavailable. I leave my information so his nurse can call me back, but I never get that phone call. Makes things a little discouraging. Professionalism is not this hospitals strong point.
cindy ellis: Waited in the er for 8 hrs before getting called back and waited 4 hrs in here I am exhausted tired and hungry. The room needs to be cleaned better it’s a little in the nasty side someone needs to be trained to clean er bays. The nurses at the desk are very rude and don’t care about you.As if you are a nuisance to them. I will never be guilty of coming here ever again.
Jackeline Hernandez: I understand hospital has been busy and the staff is probably overwhelmed and overworked but the youngest lady working the desk/check in at the ER entrance was very rude and careless (“she was just releasing someone else for lunch”). Maybe if you make her help her coworkers that are constantly moving and helping she will appreciate her position a bit more. Although you have 6 workers just happily chatting, on their phones and Pinterest while there’s ppl that’s been waiting 12hrs!!!! Bathrooms are disgusting and vending machines don’t take cash.

Cox North Emergency Department: what do users think?
Ash Heaston: 2nd time in two weeks as always you guys are awesome!
Phoenix Segrist: Sat in the waiting room for 3 hours with my mom only for her to get taken back to a room and harassed and discriminated against by a nurse named Mandy. Worst experience we have ever had!
Robert Stone: We visited the ER on a Saturday night For my son who had an eye problem. The staff was very courteous and got us in and out in under an hour. Amazing! Dr. Hunter was terrific as was Claude and Malina, As well as the rest of the staff. Thank you very much!
toolfreak4157: My girlfriend was a recent patient in the ER at Cox North. The night staff there was very loud and rambunctious with their chatter and personal conversations. I also heard them talking about other patients in earshot of us and others as well which included them laughing at the patients expense. The day shift staff members were actually quieter and did a much better job at checking in on their patients. Also, the psychiatrist was supposed to be seeing patients in the ER during the day didn't arrive until 730 at night wearing sweats. This caused much frustration for the patients as well as for the staff.
Helix Sass: Me and my Boyfriend brought our roommate in because of a suicide attempt. Less then 4 hours later he was released. Now we are terrified of waking up and finding him dead in the other room because this hospital decided that somebody who tried to kill themselves is totally fine to go home
Kimberly Constable: If I could give this hospital emergency department negative stars I wouldWas in waiting room with a family member for hours and hours watching others that had walked in after been seen with very little wait timeStaff was very rude and disrespectful!!! Feel that the reason the family member was being seen was the cause for the treatment and wait. When the wait time was addressed to desk staff they laughed !!
Matthew Shaffer: During my last visit to Cox North ER, which was 2017 and for mental health reasons, one of the ER nurses started having discussions of wishing that I would commit self-harm due to my background. She went on to also be verbally abusive towards me while I was in an emotional state. Cox North ER is NOT a safe place for people to go to get help. Avoid that hospital is whenever possible.
Kayla Hill: Terrible experience
Chevelle Hargis: I took my daughter in bc she has gi problems and was getting sick with stabbing pains in her stomach. No one looked at her stomach they just wanted to test her for strep and covid. Which neither one of those has those symptoms... the doctors do not care about you or your health!!! Would never recommend anyone to go there unless you wanna end up in a body bag.
Riley O'Shea: They lose your stuff every single time and one of the security guard has some serious issues. And they don't seem to care at all about mental health patients.
Hilary Grayson: When it came to treatment as a person last night everyone was amazing but after like 4 hours for bad stomaches pains distended stomach and very tender they had given me a CT scan without the dye that helps detect infection they did take blood but not all they were supposed to they kept drawing blood out but pushing it back in over and over and when they'd actually keep the blood they'd just keep throwing it away instead of using it for the rest of the samples they needed and never took they came back at the end and they said there was nothing wrong with me well I checked my patient portal after if there was nothing wrong WHY IS MY WHITE BLOOD CELL COUNT 16.9 THOUSAND WHEN THE HIGHEST IT SHOULD BE IS 10.8 THOUSAND THAT MEANS THERE It IS AN INFECTION yet they said there is nothing wrong PLUS THERE WAS OTHER RESULTS THAT WERE TOO HIGH OR TOO LOW YET THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONGI DIDNT WANT pain medication nothing like that I just know I had an intestinal bacterial infection that almost killed me before like this and I wanted to make sure I was ok MY BLOOD TEST RESULTS SAY THAT IM NOT OK YET THEY RELEASED ME SAYING THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH NO TREATMENT FOR INFECTION if I could post my screenshots of my blood test results I would to show you
Untongue Tied: Nice to me atleast
Jaime Rochin: If you like people that hate you, then this is the place to go!
Lucky Guggiana: If this place is your only choice, choose to die instead.
Jennifer Salazar: If I can leave zero stars I would I have been here over 12 hours for my daughter to be seen and nothing has been done now I got a wait until they can transport to take her else where
XoXo MiMi: From the receptionist, RN, police/security, everyone is just horrible. This hospital is lacking empathy for patients. Worst hospital in Springfield, don’t come here !!!
Sherri Riili: Walk in and all 4 nurses sitting at the desk are on their phones! Another one is sleeping at a desk! Perhaps one of them could put on gloves and pick the used tissues off the floor and the cottonball with blood on it!
Jonathan Cook: So I have a significant amount of health issues and have been to the cox north er 6 times or so in the last few years. Every single time has been a great experience. The wait times are generally shorter than any other er in town. So much so that when I had kindney stones years ago and waited in the cox south er for 2 hours only to get told it would be 7-8 more hours to get in. I was in excruciating pain and decided to leave as I just couldn’t stand the waiting room for 7 more hours. On my way out someone mentioned that cox north had no waiting so I drove over there. I walked in and was in a room talking with the doctor in 15-20 mins. Had a ct right after and was given pain meds to help. One of the best experiences ever. The longest I have had to wait at north er was 45 mins to be seen. Absolutely fantastic drs nurses and staff. They have even started a remodel and the rooms are very nice.Thank you for positive experiences!
Anne: Very dirty. Wouldn't recommend
kimberlinah h.e: Was seen june 27 after i was involved in a motorcycle crash. I had always had good treatment in the past at cox north but this time it was horrific. My husband and i was both being seen. Was both treated like inmates pretty sure that cox north is a hospital and not a penitentiary. The dr never once spoke to me. The nurse i had informed me that i could not have any info on my husband or even make a phone call out.I was also man handled for no reason on the arm that had damage and profiled as a honkey by nursing staff. Denied warm blankets even tho i had just spent 30 minutes in the rain.Save your self some time and choose a different ER this one lacks everything it once had.Wasnt clean- someome elses bloody napkins by the bedNursing staff are very rude and have no compassion or empathy.
Terry Simpson: I was seen by doctor Patrick Gilbreth last night with concerns of a lump on my chest and me having cancer multiple times in the past. He was extremely professional with a great bedside manner. He got me set up with a primary physician so that I can get reestablished with an oncologist. He also reassured me that it wasn't cancer again. Thank you so much for making my experience better last night. And thank you also to the nurses that were so kind.

Abdullah Basaloom: The worst wait experience in my life to do MRI scan for my 15 month kid. We drove all the way from Rolla, but they made us wait 3 more hours and my kid is starving and so hungry. Unbelievably careless MRI crew. Don’t take your kid to Springfield Mercy Hospital. Just DON’T
Kathy Bonilla: I will never go anywhere else as long as I am in the area. Best hospital for my kids ✝️💙
Devon Davis: Thank you to everyone on Floor 7 in the Peds unit for taking such good care of my boy! The nurses, the child life specialists, the ortho surgeon, the anesthesiologists... they were all amazing! 🙏❤
dan lu: This is a good hospital and they are always so friendly and kind
Joshua: Baby had great surgeon and all staff put in 110%. Thanks
Samantha Woods: Dr.Caffey saved my son's life with vigorously giving him mouth to mouth resuscitation. Couple days after birth. Staff is wonderful.
Paul Cox: Three hour wait in the emergency room. Unbelievable. Hope your child doesn't get sick in Springfield. 5 hours and counting for a routine visit.

CoxHealth: Emergency Room: what do users think?
Echo Alexzander: Buyer beware. Not only is this location badly understaffed meaning you'll be sitting and waiting for 12 hours or more in the hallways after the lobby has overflown, plan to pay a minimum of $634.84 for check-in and triage services if you opt to leave without receiving care.
Angela H: This place is not busy!! Been here 2 1/2 hours. They have only taken back 2 patients. The front desk area at one time had 5 employees out there socializing. Not once has anyone asked or checked on my fathers well-being. I suppose we come to the ER for fun and kicks. They don’t seem to care how you are feeling. I understand non emergency and emergencies. This is BS! I’ve been very observant. Those beds aren’t full back there.
Deanna Moskalenko: It is clean but the service is horabel. My little 2 year old brother had a fever of 103.7 and thy kept us waiting for 6 hours. My brother was throwing up and looked tired. We asked them what is taking so long but thy just ignored us.

Select Specialty Hospital - Springfield: what do users think?
Burst Out Beys: I do not like this place because they called me a very big infection did not take care of the infection anyway turns out I had to get tendons cut off and now I'm in worse pain than ever
Tina Cloud: My mother stayed at Select for 4 weeks. Only complaint that I ever had was there was a few times that it took a little long to answer call buttons but it wasn’t because of lacking on job but because of being short handed on those days. The other complaint that I would give is in case management, the one filling in for our original case manement girl had a very poor and sorry attitude, Never answer a call to come back to the room. So when I went to the office she gives a very sorry attitude as though you were nothing her. The women was very short, smart and obviously annoyed to have to make any changes to the discharge plans. Very unprofessional and needs a different profession other than working in public relations. One of the respiratory therapist was so sweet and would sing to my mother when she was anxious. After so long a stay mentally and emotionally it can take a toll on a person and even through my meltdown one morning the poor nurse (God bless her) who had to deal with my breakdown was a sweetheart. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL TO ANYONE. I left this review 4 years ago and I can tell you I did not say any good things about this place other than the few nurses who made our stay somewhat tolerable. My mother has since passed, and this place was one of the places she spent her last weeks in and it isn’t a place anyone should have to spend their last days in. My review was edited to seem as our stay was nothing but good, but it was anything but that. Even though it was 4 years ago, we have still not let this places negligence be forgotten. Whoever changed this original review, and took it from a 1 star to a 4 star review (?????), just know, people deserve to know the kind of treatment that was given in this place.
Jennifer Johnston: There are absolutely no words to describe what an amazing place of healing this is, but I'm going to try.I was cared for at Select Specialty Hospital of Springfield for a little over a month after a devastating infection resulting in a large surgical wound. To start, the building is beautiful, rooms are single capacity, clean and spacious. Housekeeping staff are uplifting people who do an excellent job daily. The food is excellent! There are lots of options and the dietary staff are friendly and helpful. Doctors, nurses and therapy staff are some of the most sympathetic, caring and knowledgeable caregivers you will experience in the healthcare setting. I shared laughter on my good days and on the days I was feeling down, they lifted my spirits and were my biggest cheerleaders! The wound care staff are second to none and brought my extensive wound to a miraculous place of healing in a very short time. Everyone there obviously acknowledge and embrace that they are treating people and not just an illness. I had a wonderful experience there and would not hesitate to go back or send a loved one there if it was needed. May God bless them all and continue to guide their hearts, hands and minds in their daily care of the people they serve.
Dawnita Campbell: FANTASTIC!! I was there 56 days and the care was phenomenal!! I will miss the people there, very much!! There food is AWESOME!! Wide variety of options and everything is extremely clean and smells AMAZING!! Housekeeping staff does an exquisite job cleaning and tending to patient needs. Everyone is VERY friendly and helpful!! The registered dietitian listens to your needs and helps make the plans to get your health back on track. The doctors are very cordial and you see them everyday and they genuinely care about each individual and they listen to you and your concerns!!Believe it or not, I was very sad to go and would DEFINITELY recommend this hospital to anyone...THEY TRULY CARE!!! Thank you!! And they WILL ALL be missed!
Garrett Dutton: I have worked here as a Doctor of Physical Therapy since Aug of 19'. We have had some coworkers from each department come and go throughout the years. That being said I have been proud to work here since day one. The amount of miracles I have witnessed are innumerable. I am heavily involved in patient care, as well as satisfaction surveys. I love hearing all the positive feedback patients and their loved ones have to offer about how friendly the staff is. Also our kitchen staff get high marks from just about everyone.I have attached several photos of our facility, that I personally took. All of our rooms are private, & have all amenities. One of my favorite features is the large windows!
M S: This hospital is very nice personal, very good doctors you see what they really care about you,I was few months ago in Mercy it’s absolutely different-no good service,I’m escape after 1/1:2 days after surgery,I like how nurse doctors take care of you
Laurin: The most vile medical practice I have ever interacted with. Just cannot believe what they are doing to my family. May be time for a medical malpractice suit. Don't know how you sleep at night.
Ashley Capital G: Absolutely loved and adorned the staff! Went above and beyond for the patients. Definitely yummy food!!!!
Jessica: They are great nurses and aids that really care. They ask me to do therapy I did not think I was capable of, and could have said no. But I trusted them and they knew me better than I did. I got better and better each day quick. You have to trust that they know what to do and really do care about their patients.
madrespect2: I read some reviews and found a few that said they were fake reviews. I am a real person you can find me on Facebook. My name is Angie Ball and I was in Select Medical Rehab hospital after spending weeks in Mercy ICU with Covid. The whole rehab facility was exceptional to me and my family. room was kept clean, beds were made when I would let them. I couldn't stand after my stay in the hospital along with breathing issues and they addressed both with care. They not only had to clean me when I couldn't they did it with compassion. I pushed that nurses button when I got scared, couldn't sleep or when I needed help of any kind. I know they had other people worse off than myself to help yet they also helped me. When they had to limit visitors to only 1 per day they let my husband bring in my son who is an adult with Autism. Imagine how much that helped in my recovery. I am home now and still recovering but Select Medical Specialty Hospital gave me the tools and are still a resource for me to contact when I have questions or concerns. I highly recommend them if they are needed for you or a family member. As most hospitals and rehab facilities in our country are trying to keep up with the influx of people, this facility is exceptional. Thanks for reading this long winded post. I talk a lot.Sincerely,Angie B.
Ivan Olson: You will not experience a greater level of care and compassion towards the patients and visitors, then here at Select Specialties. The staff is extremely friendly and caring towards their patients visitors, and other staff members. They go out of their way to make sure you are well taken care of. The employees seem to work well together with all departments. The facility is very clean. I'm very impressed with everyone here from housekeeping, security, cafeteria, administration, facilities management, and all departments of nursing. I deal alot with hospitals all over the Midwest. This one comes in at the top. Thank you to everyone at Select Specialties
Eli Hensley: This is a very great hospital the staff is very professional and attentive to all needs of the patients . Would recommend them for any health care issue. I spent 6 weeks here for wound care and it was the best care I have ever received from a hospital staff. You can't go wrong with these professionals....
Kenneth W Davenport: I was in there for a month and had 4 major screw up, altercations, and overall discontent with this hospital. 1 After I got covid the overall attitudes of the staff became very mean and hateful towards me. 2 One of the nurses one night while trying to collect blood samples became very agitated and began digging in my arm with the needle once she couldn't draw blood. 3 None of my answers were ever answered on how I could monitor and alleviate the problems that I had dealing with my disease. 4 Once I was discharged they didn't send me home with none of my pain meds and was told to just follow up with a family doctor The whole experience was a joke.
Bridget P: This is one of Springfield's best kept medical secrets. This may be long but worth the read if you are in need of their services. My mom was in a terrible auto accident and spent 2 weeks in ICU and had a tracheotomy using flow by oxygen with it when we were discharged. We were transferred to Select Hospital the day after she was moved from ICU to step down care. From the first day I walked in every staff member acknowledged me as they passed me in the hallways and after 2 weeks they still do. Now they are getting to know me and we even chat when they have time.I have noticed a genuine sense of pride in where they work and they truly care about their patients and the patient's family. They want to make their patients as comfortable as possible while they are healing while and your loved one is in their care. They keep everything clean and it never has a smell that is displeasing. They have quality products they use. They have quality people they hire in all areas. They were attentive when we used the nurse call light. My mom was not able to speak at first and only answering questions with yes and no responses most of the time we have been here. It was very important to me that she get the attention needed when I could not be there. They did this and made sure to check on her frequently because of her lack of ability to communicate and move. They worked with her to get her off of oxygen flow by and then moved her step by step to gradually removing her trach. Now we are ready for the next steps in her care and will have to leave the wonderful staff we have become close too. She is ready for more intense TBI therapy.I was with my mom most of the day, everyday. I watched how each staff member from all different departments interacted with her. From Housekeeping to Doctors they all wanted to be sure she and I both had anything we needed. They treated her like their own family. Caring and compassionate yet they made sure she pushed herself to do what she needed to in the recovery plan.Of course they are not perfect but they always asked if there was anything they could do better and listened to any concerns I had. They also worked very hard to correct things they could or explain to me why if something couldn't be done.Again, they are proud of where they work and want it to be the best possible and strive to do better with everything since there is always room for improvement in anything we do.I highly recommend Select Specialty Hospital for your medical needs.
Nancy Bosley: I could not have asked for or received better care than was given by everyone. Positive attitudes and many smiles helped in my recovery from Covid.
Ron Hutton: It all just don't sound right !
Allan Wong: Guess I'll leave my review here as well since they haven't claimed their yelp page.Do yourself and your loved ones a favor and avoid this place even if its the last resort. This is their "Mission" on their website. Our mission is to provide the highest quality health care and cost effective outcomes by providing specialty inpatient acute care services to those we serve while providing a positive and fulfilling work environment for the staff. They don't care about their patients. There was no high quality care for my dad, he was sent back to the ER within 12 hours of being transferred there. Its been half a year and still waiting for an update from Brian and Lisa, who have both stopped communicating.Edit: the exact dates of everything was 10/14-10/17/2020
Holly Brown: Excellent Hospital, Angel's caring for you .Extremely blessed to have been treated here.
Scott Baker: Just wanted to tell the select administration that they should feel lucky to have one of the best nurses I've ever known and her name is Sylvia Dixon. She does a great job with her patients. Downright impressive!!!
BETTY TOWNSLEY: They are a very caring place. They are taking great care of my wife.
Janet Callarman: I cannot express how thankful I am for the staff at Select Specialty Hospital. During this time when no visitors have been allowed to visit me, the staff at Select has been my family. The staff is very positive and I can always see the smiles thru the masks they wear. Everyone at Select has taken great care of me in my recovery.

Cox adult urgent care: what do users think?
BRENDA SALKIL: We was well impressed. They was really caring for there patients and loved ones. They was open 24 hours urgentcare. Where st.johns is not after 8. They are there to help others at all cost. I feel God lead us to another path. Ty. God bless
Kyle Tomc: My pregnant wife and I have been waiting for a strep test in the waiting room for 4 hours. She is shivering in pain, we are worried about the baby, and we cannot get anyone to help. I don’t blame the people on the floor, the administration NEEDS to understand how short staffed they are on a regular Tuesday evening. We will not be using this urgent care again.
Megan Imhof: 0 starsDO NOT GO TO THE ADULT URGENT CARE HERE. While staff seems friendly they do not listen or care about their patients. I went in on Monday to be treated. On top of the antibiotics they prescribed, I mentioned I could use specific OTC product. The Dr told me to go ahead and take it. Throughout the week my symptoms got WORSE (not better) enough that I was dumb enough to return to these people on Friday. The SAME doctor informed me that the OTC medicine she encouraged me to take 4 days before would make things worse, not better and that she’d prescribe me something else (this all would have been nice to know on Monday). So I’m in 10x more pain than I was.The nursing staff is also very rude here and will talk down to you. Horrible horrible experience.
Karina Smeltz (M): My boyfriend Alec came here today and said Doctor Scott Dooley was great and was very kind and caring! He cared about my health and answered all my questions !
Jonathan Hammerschmidt: Nothing “Urgent” about it. Waited for two hours only to never be seen, and they asked me to sign an AMA even though no medical advice was given. Also, for another visit when they did actually see me they billed it as an $8700 ER visit. Go to an actual “urgent care” if you need to be seen and not charged an obscene amount.Edit: since this review they have renamed it “Urgent Care Plus”, probably to avoid a lawsuit from all of the people that they misled into believing this was just an “urgent care” facility.Only go here if you absolutely must, otherwise just go to the ER.
Mary Antonniette Policher: Had some bad flu, went to urgent care at 9pm, finished at 3am. Few of their staffs said I had to wait another hour (until 4am) for the xray and there's no option to view results online. Then one of the staff said there is, then when I signed the paper to leave early so I can just go check the results online, the staff who made me sign had no idea about it. Every time someone comes in and out of the door, you wait 30+ mins for someone to come back and continue the process. It's so inefficient. I spent almost 6 hrs there and 5.5hr is just purely waiting. People pop in and out with long intervals. Worst experience especially when you're already sick. Never again.
Mahala Jennings: The RN was great, as well as the night time xray tech. NP Crystal was very cold, unfriendly, and dismissive. Literally go anywhere else. Even a veterinarian would be better.
Halie Schultz: If there was a 0 star rating that's exactly what they would get. My son was seen two days in a row and the first day he got a splint put on his arm/wrist and he had an allergic reaction to it so we took him back and they took it off and we brought a brace with us that fit him because the ones they tried on yesterday didn't fit him properly and now today apparently those aren't even used for this type of injury but the only reason it wasn't used the first time was due to it not fitting him right. This dr today Diana Roe didn't do one thing for him wouldn't even acknowledge his allergic reaction or that the fiberglass splint they put him in caused it. She didn't even look at him instead she just told me that he's gonna be evaluated from sports medicine so the sling will be the only option today. Mind you he's not suppose to be able to move his wrist freely and in the sling he can. He's literally 3 years old! This place is a joke! I will be contacting others to make a complaint as well! This is uncalled for and if his injury gets worse because of them this momma will not be happy!
Shayne Walker: We have currently been sitting in the waiting room for two hours. There were about 5 other patients when we got here. They are seeing about one person every half hour. There are three nurses sitting and gossping at the counter. Best case scenario we have another hour before we are being seen. We came in because one of us has heavy bleeding.
Felix Cat: Worst care I have ever seen was here for two hours!!! And the service was trash had an appointment for 3 pm with medical ride had to stay over night because there was no doctor..... Mercy is the way to go if u don't want to die ..... Told them five time I had to be outta of here by five ..... Was not able to make it home
Kayla: Had a terrible experience here at the Pediatric Urgent care, had an incident with my 8 month and wanted to make sure he was okay. The whole vibe there was terrible, felt very judged and was being treated like I didn’t know how to take care of my son. A day later CPS showed up, who I have no doubt was called by the doctor/NP he was seen by. They were trying to say he was immobile (like as if he’s far behind not meeting his goals and I don’t take care of him) like we were there for a reason and of course he wasn’t able to move as much because he was sore and I made that very clear that he wasn’t acting like himself and is usually super active. The CPS person was even confused why they were even sent, so for the doctor or nurse who filed the report just know my son is VERY well taken care of and has a CRIB and EVERYTHING he needs with TWO parents who take care of him & love him very much. You’d think the place would have people who are passionate about their jobs while working with kids but this urgent care didn’t feel like that one bit, I will not be returning here to this urgent care ever again for my son.On the other hand the ED was amazing to my son once we got transferred to get X-rays done, we loved his nurse & all the girls who helped! They were all super sweet and the doctor we seen that day was super reassuring and awesome. He understood what we were going through, we didn’t feel judged one bit.
Nicholas Osborn: This place is awesome. Sometimes wait times can be a little long especially depending on time of day but that is the current state of all emergency based healthcare especially in times of high Illness (flu/rsv/etc). The staff really hustle and they really are quite efficient considering the sheer volume they handle on a daily basis. Thanks to Dr Winston for making my trip a speedy one.
D Dave: The staff courtesy is the only thing getting them 3 stars. Multiple days of coughing and fatigue, and even when I mentioned I had coughed up blood, no offer of even doing chest radiographs. When my respiratory panel came back negative, I was offered antibiotics, without even a sputum culture or any other diagnostics to get to the bottom of the issue, and to continue doing the ibuprofen, Tylenol, and mucinex I was already taking on my own. As both myself and my husband work in the medical field, I was very underwhelmed.
Kristi: Although my wait time was very long (6 hours from walking in the door until discharge), the doctor I saw was excellent. He was caring and compassionate and took the time to hear what I had to say and he truly wanted to help, explaining his recommendations thoroughly. Truly an answer to prayers that I would see someone who cared! Thank you Dr. Pharris.
Daniel Funk: This is the worst place to go for any clinic need's. I went for an eye injury pretty big deal causing lots of pain. They told me would be right with me. Two hour's later i started to get a little impatient only to be told it would be another five hour wait that people where sicker than me. Well of course i came with an eye injury im not sick. Looked around there was maybe five people total waiting when they said they had 11. I asked if i could go home and them call me they said no. After i left i find out you can save a spot online from home hmm how funny. The staff working there tonight dec 1 to dec 2 night shift has no clue about the save a spot or doing any of that or how to guide people to do it. They will lie seat you down and make you wait hours my wait was seven hours total for an eye injury needs cleaned out still. I have to wait over night till another clinic open's no reason to sleep outaide in mycar when i can sleep at home and wake up and go to clinic who will actually help me!. I will be contacting hr or any other higher up's i can tomorrow about this seven hour wait or longer. Pretty much saying when there is no one else sicker than me they would see me.
Lilli Parrow: I’ve only taken my son here twice in 12 years. Both times, I wish I wouldn’t had wasted the gas. When he was only 11 months old, I felt the NP practically forced a flu vaccine on him, when he was already very sick. His PCP wasn’t even thru Cox. In hindsight, I should’ve stuck to my instincts. Came there to get help for a sick baby, ended up having an adverse reaction to the vaccine and made him much worse. Today, was Thanksgiving, and being a nurse myself I do thank all healthcare workers and staff that give up their holidays to serve others. But it was PACKED, all very sick kids. Before I checked my son in, I informed the lady at the front desk he was having chest pain and needed access to the cardiac equipment, so I asked her if I needed to go to the ER. She assured me that we did not. We tried to find a place to sit and the only place open had dirty, used basins full of emesis and trash everywhere. I went ahead and cleaned up that mess, before my son almost went unconscious. I asked for some further assistance, received none, but she wanted me to wait to get him help, elsewhere, to sign paperwork. I understand that’s her job. Maybe she’s not allowed to leave her seat to clean up throw up from the previous patients or maybe she was unaware. She appeared to be very complacent and annoyed about having to be there, at all. I know if we’d had waited on their time, my son would’ve felt too horrible to stay. It would’ve been AT LEAST a 5 hour wait so that he could just lay down. Thank God, for good ol’ Cox North.
Neka Parker: Very Unprofessional Establishment, On 11/20/22 Went in For a SevereEar infection, + Q-tip Broke off in my ear. Ive had Cronic ear infections over (past 6 Months) They was Unable to Get it with Tweezers (didn't even try) Said we definitely see it , and it was to far in my ear OK. So proceeded to Flush it out w the Saline Solution did not come out. Took a culture, was suspose to get referred to a ENT after culture Results came back, waiting DAY 3 with a Staff infection ON-GOING in my ear Still have not gotten a referral. Called Multiple times, talked to a Nurse Named Julie- said oh use the drops it will go just around the q-tip. I'm Not a Nurse but Absolutely NOT! I'm Really at a loss for words, just baffled they would say that..I Spoke to a ENT 5 Star Rating on 11/21/22 Who Said it was VERY Concerning that they would put the water/Saline in my ear with the cotton bud Stuck that Cotton Expands.+with infection Said Call right now and get the Referral it's a Medical Emergency and Needs Attention to Remove before it turns into something Bad. They said they could take me ASAP on 11/21/22 Still NO Referral on DAY 3! I Still Have It Stuck in My Ear and Solution made it worse! Will be Reporting to STATE BOARD, and Escalate this issue to the Fullest. Not how any patient should be treated. Dr. I Seen was Dr. Phillip Kelchen. I will be Disputing this Visit too! Hence the Terrible Star Rateings
Maya Weitz: Don't bring your kiddo here if you don't want to wait 3 hours to be seen. I used Save my Spot and still waited 2 hours in the waiting room. When my child and I were finally brought back to a room, we waited another hour to even be seen by a physician. It's a waste of your time. Don't come here unless you have no other option.
Talor Lafferty: Worst walk-in clinic experience ever!! I do not recommend this place to anyone! Dr had the worst bedside manor ever!! Lauren Grover left my urine in the bathroom unlabeled and I had to track down a different nurse to put a label on it to be tested. Who ever the MD was diagnosed me with a pulled muscle after having flu symptoms all weekend!
katlcol: I am from Oklahoma and I had a medical emergency, from breaking my arm, ambulance and I was brought to Cox Health South. From the ambulance to the er and being admitted and surgery and being discharged, I received excellent care. They treated me like I was important! The care, the love, the understanding and prayers pulled me through this traumatic time. Thank you Cox Health Hospital. 💘 ❤
Eric Weiskopf: Quick handling at front desk, triage, x-ray and time with Nurse Practitioner.
