He seemed to know less than me and really somewhat reluctant to help. I'm not a painter and thought I could get a little help there as last year I was greeted with helpful people. Not anymore. You're on your own there. It's like getting help at Walmart. Bummer for my wasted time there.
Keegan Lile: I never realized how nice this store was on the inside, or just how much stuff there was!Also, I called and went in looking for a wall adapter to allow me to plug a 3 prong power cord into an older 2-prong outlet, and they were super helpful. Especially the young lady working the register, who was super sweet.Definitely will be back to irresponsibly explore/spend when I can afford to. Lol.

You walk in and they asked you what you're looking for and tell you which aisle is on, then they watch u the whole time ur in there. I understand being paranoid of shoplifters, but I'll never understand treating everyone who walks through that door is if they know you are a shoplifter. I wanted to look around but felt that I needed to grab what I came in for and get out as fast as I could. I also noticed that a lot of their prices were higher than the other Ace Hardware Stores

I don't know, chances are you haven't read my review on the hard hat gear store on South Campbell avenue but it reminded me a lot of this service that I got over there. consumers hardware first open their doors in the 40s and they've been continually doing business and serving the Springfield public since then. I think that legacy alone has a lot of value to it and is worth supporting. they had a little more than most hardware stores also, for instance they had cooking supplies. if I was to guess I would wager that 90% of the business this place gets is from repeat customers and regulars who go there for the customer service and small town feel of the place which I totally get. in fact I'm going to try to get my bosses to set up an account here. this is kind of off the subject but if you're a flashlight collector like myself, they got a great selection of flashlights! anyway I just wanted to write this five-star review for them because I know that anytime you go there you will get five star service and five star prices, and because I hadn't heard of this place the entire time I've lived in Springfield, which is almost a decade, I wanted to do my part to spread the word about it. please come by next time you need hardware store things and I'm sure they'll be happy to see you and that they'll be happy for your business!

However the worker behind the front counter upon my arrival was clearly disappointed with my choice to come in and grab what I needed quickly. Instead of asking what I needed or to help me find it, he scuffled and made sure I knew the store was closing in “5 minutes”. I arrived at 6:48 and the store closes at 7. Disappointed!

Hannah Spratt: This is my go-to spot for spring gardening supplies. Their prices are good and it's so convenient! Not overwhelmingly crowded like those big box stores. And, I happened to stumble upon their Spring plant sale last year. Awesome plants/trees/veggies!Plus, there's a lot of untapped potential for all of my other hardware needs. I definitely need to check out the house paint. They seem to have great selection.

Lorelei Valkenburg: I like what the store has available and the plant sales have had some extremely good deals. However, I can't understand why they close so early. On Sunday at 5pm they had to turn at least half a dozen people away. Also one employee hassled us at least 8 different times about the fact they were closing, interrupting our thought process and making us take longer. We still checked out at 5 to 5. Anyway, it's nice to shop local.

Anthony Dykes: I would not recommend ordering doors from here....as far as I know my doors were ordered on the 10th of December and today is the 8th of January and I was told a week to week and half max I would have them. The worst part is everytime I talk to someone it is a different story...first they shipped...then they didn't....then they would be delivered Thursday...then Friday....the Monday after that I was told they hadn't been received yet even though a full week before I was told they were there. Then I get to a manager and he says they actually ordered the wrong doors and they have to be reordered...now I can't get anyone to call me back. When you call after 230-3pm they tell you everyone has gone home already, but they didn't have time to deliver your doors today. It has been a complete disaster. Paid cash up front....still no product. If Lowe's carried Knotty pine doors I would already have installed doors in my house.
Emily Reyelts: Very good staff here. Didn’t know they closed so soon and helped us get lumber 20 minutes after close. Didn’t complain once and still helped every step of the way. Very cheap prices too!
Nancy: McClernon Villas a 55+ affordable housing community by the Kitchen, Inc. had a block party May 10th. Meeks provided the grill, and manpower to barbecue for the tenants. Everyone enjoyed the burgers, hot dogs, and chicken you cooked Tanner. Thank You Rusty and Tanner for making the event so special to our tenants. You are true to your words about being invested in Community, and we are very appreciative. You are the Best!!!!

Frank Raimann: I have been buying lot of flowers off there clearance rack.
Erin: Took over a month to get my carpet installed after constant reschedules. Was a HORRIBLE experience trying to talk to anyone about it.
Jamie Burchett: I went to the lawn and garden to buy 24 landscape blocks. When checking out at the outside lawn and garden register, they scanned the 24 block. Then, because I had 100.00 bill, they told me I would have to go inside and check out again because they couldn't cash it out there. That they didn't have enough money. Now my bill was 76 dollars, and some change. Do you mean at your busiest time of year they didn't have the 20 some dollars and change? Come on Lowe's you can do better.

Woodpecker Peckswood: my review is based on lack of customer service at this location and I come here often. today I just ordered something online and went to pick it up. as I arrived the employee standing at pick up took off their vest and walked away. I look over and see 5 people in the return line. Kenzie and Nate both working customer service . After 5 min or so neither acknowledged me, so I ask loudly if Im supposed to move over to the return line. Nate said yes. Geez thanks Nate for telling me after standing there visible to you for over 5 minutes. Kenzie ended up helping me but lacked basic knowledge how to read the screen and kept referring to my purchase as "the thing with a weird name" it's was a sander.. 😄. so you can't expect to save time or pick up items here with any efficiency because you end up in their slow return line with everyone else. this has happened simular a few times. then another time I purchased $140 at the store and apparently your system was glitching because the cashier told me it didn't work and to run my card again. well of course she ran the purchase twice but I only received one receipt. so I didn't know until I got home and my bank account is empty. I called and was told to come in to fix it. when I did I couldn't get the customer service person to give me the refund it turned into a, get me your manager situation. just ridiculous! clearly hiring the youngest people that have zero clue how to treat a customer or have any sense of urgency .. everyone is aloof and annoyed they have to help a customer. well im annoyed at this branch and your lack of management and training so you get a deserved review.

Diane Watters: Had eyed the Solar Kits for quite awhile and finally splurged ! Not regretting it, however we had to get a marine battery at Batteries plus and an EverStart Inverter at Wal Mart, note Walmart beat the others prices. Daughter now has lights in the new hen house we built and later can plug in other things when using the inverter.
