Jeff Dietzel: Update 10/11/2022: After reading some of the other reviews on here, I felt I needed to provide another update because the same thing seems to keep happening to others. After my last update in which I seemed to fall for their continued excuses, I was promised a full refund (despite that being against their own policy) because my piece was still not finished with no expected completion date. But, I have never seen the refund. This seller has zero accountability. I have since commissioned a new piece from a local builder. If I ever see my refund, I will be sure to let you all know, otherwise all I can say is buyer beware. - Back to 1 star.Update 5/17/2022: I was able to work with Heather over the last couple weeks to resolve our order and my frustrations. I truly got the feeling she was making an honest effort to catch up on their backlog and reach out to their customers which was appreciated. I hope they are starting to do better keeping up with their work load and are able to stay healthy.Update 3/16/2022: I did finally hear from these guys after making my initial review. I ended up not seeking a refund through my credit card and will hope to get this item in the near future, but so far no estimate on a completion date. I will update my review again once the product is received.Unfortunately I have been forced to leave this entirely negative review. We worked with Heather and Brittany to design a custom cabinet piece last fall and all seemed great. However, since our order was placed and invoice paid in November 2021, we have not heard from them. We attempted to contact them around the expected completion date but the ability to get a response became impossible. We have called many times since, all unanswered and no voicemails returned; emails seem to be ignored with the exception of one reply which had excuses for the delay and a promise to have it done within the week - that was a month and a half ago without any further communication. I cannot recommend someone who would completely ghost their customer. I have begun the process of seeking a refund through my credit card company.I want to be clear that my grievance is not with the delay, things happen; not with the quality of work, haven't seen it yet; but rather with the complete lack of communication and feeling that we have been scammed because they went silent after receiving our money.Service:Custom furniture
tiffany ertle: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AND GET SCAMMED BY THESE LADIES! I should have listened to the others posting about the scam, but I wanted to believe in the good and they were just "behind because of Covid and material shortages"I ordered a table in June 2022. The communication was excellent, very timely and attentive. I was told 6-8 weeks for delivery. I had to pay for the table upfront and would need to pay for shipping once finished. I checked in about 9 weeks later to see the status. I was told they were a week behind due to illness. I checked back week 12 and nothing. All communication has stopped since. I have emailed several times since and left messages on their voicemail. I asked for a refund without any response. Looks like once they get their initial payment, they bail on you. Ali Rawski: I've been trying to decide how I was going to proceed with this review. As much as I love my piece overall, there are so many things that went wrong.About a year ago we ordered a large custom entertainment center. We ordered in late January and did not receive our order until well into May. With understanding that there was a wood shortage we were very kind in our approach in trying to communicate with the owners about the delay. It was apparent that we were being ignored. When they finally reached out to us to set up a time for pick up we asked if anyone could help us load the piece since I was pregnant. Beautiful Fight Woodworking was more than happy to drop off the piece at our door to make the process easier. My husband was there for the drop off and I returned later that day. When I walked into my home the air was thick with the smell of fresh wood stain. I was so upset because under no circumstances should anyone be breathing that in an enclosed space, let alone a pregnant woman. We wouldn't have cared to wait a few more days just to let the stain air out but they didn't even give us the option to make that decision and unfortunately we did not have a safe location to let it air out outside the home.It's now a year later. I look at the random design flaws and smile, telling myself it was an artistic choice. What is hard to look over is the fact that, yes, the piece was stained but it was most certainly not sealed. There is now a spot on the base of the piece that the stain was easily lifted because it wasn't sealed, visible to the whole room. There are supports that were not stained at all. Some parts look as if they were picked from scraps, possibly from other projects. Finally, the shelves have bowed. I'm not sure if it is due to the shelves not being stained, if the wrong kind of wood was used or if they were just not properly supported.The experience has been very frustrating. We went out of our way to find a local small business we could support. Instead of getting a nice handmade piece we've had to settle for a overall visually appealing but very subpar piece.Looking over the more recent reviews I'm shocked to find that over a year later customers are still having the same issues, several left unresolved. We will not be using Beautiful Fight Woodworking again.

Becca Cohn: We originally ordered a farmhouse table back in February 2022 and the owners responded to my inquiry about the stain of the piece. However their website says items ready in 6-8weeks and I’ve been trying to contact the owners for over two months (ever since we hit the timing on the website) and it has been total complete silence from my many phone calls (voicemails), emails, and Instagram message (left me unread). Since they don’t appear interested in filling my order I’ve canceled it via my CC company and am seeking a refund. I would highly recommend avoiding this establishment and not purchasing from them as they don’t respect orders and have no interest in following through. Amanda Thomas-Castillo: Buyers BEWARE- ordered a piece in December being told it would take 6-8 weeks. They don’t respond and make excuses and don’t provide shipping details. Never received item and reported to credit card because they are a bunch of liarsEdit for response to seller- my refund came from my bank after telling you I’d report fraud if a tracking number wasn’t sent, it didn’t come from YOU. You didn’t show any proof when asked about a tracking number- even after 3 weeks. You continued to not respond to several messages on your website, email and Instagram. You might be a two person business, but it doesn’t justify not sending a product. Your bullshit is overwhelming.

Kelly Downs: Like others I have had a horrible experience. I ordered an entryway table in June of 2020. I still have not received my product; however I paid for it in full at the time of purchase. I inquired about my piece almost monthly and was always met with a COVID related excuse or no response at all. I filed a complaint with the BBB and then I received multiple aggressive replies from Beautiful Fight Woodworking along with multiple excuses as to the status and whereabouts of my piece. I then filed a complaint with the MO AG, process has been ongoing, but during this time when I have been forwarded their correspondence to the AG they have made up blatant lies. Luckily, I have all correspondence saved. But it blows my mind how they have attempted to undercut my integrity when all they need to do is reimburse me. I was beyond patient. And got excuse after excuse or blamed for the issues. What I have noticed is these owners refuse to take accountability for their actions. I’m not sure how they are allowed to have a business license. Do not purchase from these people.

If you're looking for quality, custom-made furniture and a way to support small, local business, then look no further than Beautiful Fight Woodworking! Some of my favorite pieces of furniture have come from this hardworking, women-led business. I love the kitchen tables and chairs, coffee table, blanket ladder, and nightstands that they've made. I often get compliments on these pieces, too! I plan to continue to not only tell more people about this gem on C-street, but also get more matching furniture from them. kelly cook: We like the store but it’s the staff that makes a difference. We met Mary months ago while shopping for a bedroom suite. While we didn’t purchase anything at the time, we were very impressed with her knowledge and personality! So much so, when it came time to buy some other furniture, we came back to Mary! We live an hour from the store, so we communicated a lot through text and pictures. She was great at sending us pictures of suggested pieces and she helped us tie it all together with existing pieces we had. She was great and made the buying experience very enjoyable!

She answered all questions, and helped us make the purchase we were ready to make.Wow, I had to edit this initial review after the delivery service was soooo bad. They damaged our furniture prior to delivery, so it didn’t arrive as scheduled. Then when I called customer service, they try to lie about the circumstances and blame us for it not being delivered. The woman said, “they tried to deliver, but nobody came to the door.” I told her that was not true! Then she said, “they tried to deliver it, but it was refused at the door.” I was like, What????? My husband said nobody ever came to our house. Then the lady said, “ok, the furniture got damaged and so we’ll reschedule your delivery for next week”. Umm, no. I either want the furniture tomorrow or my money back.

He is super knowledgeable on all of the product, and always goes above and beyond to make sure we are happy. THAT is the reason we keep going back to the store.

I already spoke with Brad, the Store Manager, and he offered zero help or recourse, as well. Frustrating and useless conversation. Lots of blaming the manufacturer, etc. Please have him contact me if there is a sudden change in policy and something can be done.

Basically you are at their mercy. Second product was also damaged. Now we have to go through that process. 10k on new but have to settle for refurbished.

After seeing their showroom and just what they have to offer, we were sold on them. We had a vision for a custom pantry in our kitchen and Jacob designed exactly what we had in mind. They kept us informed as to when the cabinets would be finished and were right on time. When it came time for the installation, it went off without a single problem. Anne Baggott: UPDATE 6-7-2021: After the original review, Cabinet Concepts got back out to the house to fix the issues. Through the GC's miscommunication, they had not been made aware of the problems. And we discovered the issues were other subcontractors' fault, so they ended up fixing others' mistakes. The cabinets now look beautiful!The cabinets we had custom-built, custom-designed, and installed at a lake home are beautiful. We have had a problem with installation. The cabinets have a gap between the countertop and the top of the cabinet, about an inch on one end that tapers to even on the other end of the countertops. There are ugly shims showing in the gap instead of a beautiful finish. We've made multiple attempts, through our GC, to get Cabinet Concepts back out to make the cabinets look as good as they should. It's been about two months. Patrick M: They helped design, craft and install our custom cabinets for our new home. They were able to take some of the inspiration photos I had from places like Instagram, Houzz, and a couple kitchen designers and make it come to life. We also had a "natural" oak stain requested for our master vanities, which were executed perfectly.Also, they were contracted through our builder, so we technically didn't see their show room until after our project was underway. They have the capability to do pretty much whatever you want from a storage and organization standpoint.Also, we did full inlay cabinets and vanities. Kate Alsup: Scott and his team built and installed cabinets and countertops for our kitchen renovation, as well as updating our existing cabinets with new doors. We were interested in wooden countertops and Scott gave us butcher block tops that transformed the kitchen into a modernized, inviting space. The craftsmanship and installation of the cabinets and doors was perfect. During our renovation we’ve met and interviewed quite a few craftspeople and Scott stood out to us because of his expertise, his character, and his commitment to his customers and his product. I’ve yet to find a flaw in his work and I am looking forward to working with him on future renovations.

Standard Woodworks was willing & able to customize chairs for my 6' 3" tall husband so that his head could rest on the back; rather than hitting him at the neck line. He offered & we agreed to have him paint the chairs. I chose Nile Blue. All customization was delivered at a nominal fee - especially when you consider that heavy duty plastic chairs of similar size are 2-3 times more - without being able to customize. Having the ability to match the blues to the rest of my patio furniture (see cushions in photo) & then actually use them - rather than have them for "looks" because they are so solid is a win-win for us! Couldn't be happier with the results!
