Hannah Meese: I would not recommend Lem's Truck & Auto to anyone! We took our truck to them after it had died on us on I44, after weeks of them having our truck we received no answers on what was going on with the truck but was told they could replace a part but that wasnt going to guarantee that it would work. Very soon after being told that they called us and told us the truck had been broke into and we needed to come pick it up. They told us it was our responsibility to fix the windows, ignition etc that was busted up but after asking them for video footage they decided to change their mind and said they would fix the window. We scheduled a tow truck to pick up the truck after the window people finished, when the truck arrived to our house we were surprised to find every piece they had taken off of the motor inside the truck just thrown in there. Several mechanics have told us they should have never done that and atleast put it back together. Putting the truck back together there were several missing parts that we had to pay for, and the "New" harness we paid for(through Lems) had several missing plugs.So in the end we paid a pretty penny to get NO answers, A truck that was broke into, and an engine with several missing parts and half the engine left in the cabin of the truck!! Matt Giles: I was in a panic today as I am suppose to be driving my family of 9 to Alabama for Christmas in 2 days. I have a Dodge sprinter van that has a specialized Mercedes Diesel engine in it. I warmed it up this morning and heard a horrible clacking noise in the engine. I normally go to Ricks but they can’t ever seem to get me in in a timely fashion anymore so was forced to call a dozen different shops begging for someone to work on my vehicle. I finally ended up at Lem’s doorstep, He was busy like all the other shops but took pity on me and squeezed me in and fixed my fuel injector that same day. Thank you for helping this family take their vacation they have been dreaming about for months!

Jonathan: if you use your truck everyday for work, you really need to leave it in Lem's capable hands next time you need to get it repaired or serviced. This garage is busy, there's no shortage of diesels in need of repair and servicing. However (this is directly out of the man's mouth) if you need to have this servicing done on your work vehicle that you use daily to make your living, your vehicle is his priority so that you can get back out there, making your living. That points out a great quality in a mechanic doesn't it? Lem works there everyday along with his really kind wife and he's all about helping the working man out. Seems to me that the average Joe who lives by the "honest work for honest pay" credo is becoming more and more, an endangered species. I fall into that description. seems like more than ever before, and especially of late, I see a more and more people who have no problem doing nothing for their living, wishing rather, to let working taxpayers pay for their free ride (free for them, not everybody else). It's really really nice to see somebody like Lem who's willing to recognize hard-working people and who wants to help them out doing that hard work by giving their vehicles priority. Thanks Lem, can't tell you how much I appreciate that!So please, give this guy some honest pay and he'll give return the gesture but performing some honest work on your vehicle and don't expect to get overcharged or swindled in any way, he's the real deal. The man also has been in business long enough to know quite a bit about what he's doing so there's no need to worry about him making any rookie mistakes on your vehicle and messing it all up.I feel vulnerable kike I kind of stuck my neck out there a little bit far on this review, kinda waxed a little more political than I usually prefer to. I like to stay out of such things but these words are words that I believe in and i felt like they applied to this review so I hope I haven't offended anybody. just know I believe that everybody's allowed to think and feel whatever they want to think and feel about anything and I can't say whether they're wrong or right because I only know what's wrong and right for me. The words that I've said in this review are just things that I believe in and that doesn't mean that I think anybody else is wrong for believing otherwise. I'm not a person to judge anybody else for what they do, that's their business (I mean, unless it's something crazy and obviously evil).if you're still reading, thanks for making it this far, if you could use some work on your truck, don't forget Lem, I think once you use his services, you'll be using them again. thanks for reading this far and thanks again Lem! oh yeah, one more thing. while I was there signing my truck out, they told me that somebody had wrote them a one-star Google review and pretty much blasted them. The person that wrote the review had never been a customer of theirs and the services that they were complaining about had never been done. They were thinking it was a competitor or something. So if you read any bad reviews about this place please take them with a grain of salt and maybe just give Lem's a try yourself. I can't see them getting a bad review from anybody.

Mark Hoffman: It's been some time ago now. But I was having trouble with my transmission on my Taurus. I took it to Lems. And the honesty and professionalism I experience was beyond what I expected. When he called to let me know it was just actually a transmission sensor and that would be a much cheaper fixed then the transmission would be. Needless to say I was just delighted. They could have told me anything and I have believed it. But that's not how these folks do business they're honest light I'm just a great bunch of people.

David: American Fleet towed my truck in 441 miles on schedule, the engine was out and disassembled the next morning at 8am. Then I got called saying the mechanics family had a death and his peers were taking over, i said give the man time to deal and if they could, let him finish when he returns. They gave him time and the truck was delayed only 5 days in total. better to have the man who took it apart put it together then somebody else trying to figure out the puzzle. I arrived to pick up the truck, inspected the truck, test drove the truck, and everything they promised was done with out requiring a punch list of leaks or forgotten items. The punch list in my case is very important because they didn't just do an out of frame. I have them replace an input shaft on a transmission replace the clutch replace the radiator replace the intercooler replace the air conditioning condenser all the lines hoses and belts and so on. To their great credit they did fix two small items that I didn't tell them about, a gauge didn't work, and the other item I don't even recall but they were both small and identified by the shop and resulted in less than $100 price change without calling me. The price change was perfectly acceptable because they and I had discussed items like this ahead of time a lesson learned from my nightmare with Pittsburgh Power. The truck ran flawlessly and four years later still does. A year after the first truck I brought them a second and had the exact same experience, on time on price and good communications if there was something unexpected. All this shop does is Detroit engines. They had lessons to learn because both my trucks are automobile hauling stinger units making the engine removal a level of difficulty not experienced in standard tractors. The first truck was a learning lesson in how to remove an engine from a WG series Volvo. The shop American fleet, did not ask for additional funds when they underestimated the labor required for that first truck. Rightfully so, they raise the price $1,000 for the second truck only to find a different style head rack required a different style approach to getting the engine out and again American fleet did not increase the charges for the increased difficulty. The first truck had a front bumper that unbolted allowing the engine to go straight out and unbolting the front axle allowed oil pan clearance. The shop thought they could do the same with the second truck, however the bumper was welded to the head rack and required torch cutting and welding back in place. To the shops credit they tried removing the engine without dropping the bumper, incurring a day delay and as such additional labor costs but they had permission to cut the bumper the whole time and did not back charge the customer for the delay. These guys were upstanding, took responsibility for their own actions in such that there was that one day delay, and still delivered the truck in the exact promise timeline without delay and without changing the price. This second truck also had radiators intercooler turbochargers and new belt hoses and lines.

I’ve likely exhausted Mark (Patterson) with all the big and small questions before and during the engine swap process, but I got exactly what I was looking for. Their efficiency and professionalism should make the industry benchmark. Bob, the owner, didn’t spare time giving me a tour of their clean facility, including the dyno table.I hope my review stands the test of time for the AF as well as for my beloved 12.7 60 Series.Stay safe and healthy and happy trucking!

Lance Crossman Sr.: My favorite thing is the fact they will paint your engine any color you want. I got a Detroit 60 series 12.7 liter engine and it's very strong. It has 500 horsepower with 1650 of torque and a pretty good warranty. They do offer a larger warranty if you wish to do so. I was having issues with my MPG only being 5 to 6 MPGs from the first day to 50000 miles. I happened to be driving by in the area when I 44 and told them that I was getting ready to drive by the place. After mentioning that I had called into other times about the mpg problem, they told me to come on in and we will do an overhead on it and check it out at the same time. They went above and beyond by doing a computer readout on it and printing detailed information and providing it all for me. It cost nothing to me for this to happen because it was under warranty and that I had called two other times prior. I was totally impressed with the fact that they pulled my truck in on the spot with just literally minutes of notice. The environment is very clean both in the shop and in the office. The bathrooms are also very clean and they have a driver's lounge with a TV. They also have free internet. Plenty of parking by the way. The total price of a complete rebuilt on my engine came with lots of extra stuff and was very competitive. After driving down to Joplin Missouri, my MPGs boosted up to 6.75 at an average speed of 69 mph with 11 mile per hour crosswinds and a little bit Against the Wind. I recommend this place. Thank you you guys.

E. Cameron Hitchcock: You won't be disappointed. My Detroit 8v92 blew a turbocharger miles away in VA. Bob Hendrick and his manager, Danny held my hand through a stressful engine replacement. Every mechanic has been there over 20 years and can rebuild any diesel engine. They are hands down the best and probably highest volume diesel overhaul facility. 1 yr parts AND labor. If you are within 3,000 miles, consider getting towed there. You will save in the long run since they do hundreds of engine swaps per year and won't make the mistakes that others make. Many months after the sale, you'll get to call them for support questions and they cheerfully pull a mechanic to the phone to help you. I would use these guys again and again.

Joe Dugan: Dale installed my apu about 5 years ago and we've had a few issues with it but they've always taken care of me at a very reasonable price. Since we live on the east coast, it's not always easy to bring it to him for repairs, but whenever we are in the area we always stop by for service. We had a custom installation that put the unit on our rear deck plate and he built a custom frame for it and had it ready when I arrived and did the complete installation in one afternoon. The employees are the nicest people, and answer all of your questions so that you can understand. Dale has walked us through some issues over the phone after hours. The great thing is they provide a great service with a reasonable price and I never have to worry about being "ripped off".

Richard Beckwith: The service I received from this location was top of the line. I had a driveshaft break off my truck on a cold winter night. Got a tow to this location for the repair. They didn't have the part but they searched high and low and found all the parts required and had me back on the road in a day and a half. The service manager went above and beyond looking out for me by allowing me to sleep in the truck saving me money and inconvenience as well as offering me some of his lunch and I greatly appreciated it. If you need any work done I highly recommend you give them a try.

Digg It LLC: DO NOT USE...Pros...Clean shop.Eddy and Derrick are good honest guys.Cons...Overpriced.Seldom completed in promised time.Uses cheap after market parts.Attention to detail is nonexistant.Ie...clutch adjusting rod fell off 20 miles after 7k R/R 13spd transmission.Blown turbo boot/clamp 10 miles after CAC R/R.Missed multiple grease zerks (5) on a class 8 lube.Installed pilot bearing grease line, it fell off 4 days later.Paid for Eaton, 2250, easy pedal install,Clutch didn't feel right, 4 months later discovered an "auto adjust", after market, junk clutch was installed.Latest was a bill for 9k on R/R 13spd trans and 600.00 pto pump, when I disputed the amount and asked to speak with Tim(mgr), I was told he was "too busy", i paid the bill, asked for a call back, left messages and text Tim....30 days....still no response.If you do use this shop, double check ALL the work and invoices.Disclaimer...Before Tim got so busy, he would communicate and stand behind his work, but apparently that's a thing of the past.
