Barnes & Noble: what do users think?
Jason Alcorn: If you want to support the written word, books (fiction/non-fiction), and authors; I urge you to shop online and at mom & pop shops, rather than B&N.As much as I'd like to support a brick and mortar store like Barnes & Noble, they've made it abundantly clear that they don't care about readers, literature, or authors. Between prices that are double those listed online (yes, literally 2 to 3x recommended retail in some cases) and new policies that will limit availability of hardcover books in store (carrying only hardcovers of famous and well established authors, apparently it's not enough to get a publishing deal anymore), it's just not a place that deserves my business anymore. This local store in particular has made changes in recent history (last 3-4 years) that I don't agree with. Both locally and on a corporate level, it seems Barnes & Noble has lost its identity. I understand they're a business and their business is making money at the end of the day, I just wish they cared even a little bit about what they sold, and it's clear that they don't. Don't shop at this Barnes & Noble, don't shop at any of them, just go elsewhere. You're better off.
Diana Eiberger: Love this store! The children’s section is well stocked with a variety of books. I have perused the YA, Romance, cookbooks, travel, and puzzle sections of the store and have always been impressed. My only wish is that they kept more hardcover books available for purchase but beyond that, no major complaints.
Colleen Young: It's nice to have a physical store to be able to visit. B&N has a wide variety of inventory... they keep it interesting
Susan Miller: We came here for information on Springfield history and found exactly what we wanted. The associate I asked for help was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Tom and Phaedra Ferguson: Friendly staff and great selection.
tina beaulieu: Great place first visit
Nelson Burrell: Disappointed that they have gotten rid of their discount section.
Just ME: Very clean, helpful staff. Was in & out in no time!
Chet Harris: When you walk in, what's the first thing that strikes you? The smell of PAPER! The scent of coffee brewed carefully, the sounds of people sharing knowledge and experiences FACE TO FACE...There's something to be said for doing things the old ways...I fear for places like these, for the future of personal interaction. Here, you can stretch your mind, encounter those of similar bent, and have yourself sharpened by those of different opinions then yours.Don't forget from whence ye came...Or places such as these...For when you do, you will find your world, and yourself, a little smaller. Now, it's time to read...
Brook Demm: Amazing selection. Friendly staff.
Zita Nelson: Amazing customer service, great people that can give great recommendations if you need one
India Visser: A stand alone store with a wide selection of books, toys, crafts and more. The children's section is huge and has a stage. Very helpful staff. The back wall had a variety of Lego sets and different kits and activities.
Caylee Briggs: Great layout! Tons of books to be found and a great place to find gifts that are more niche than the mainstream. Also great for kids, my littles had a great time looking through books and toys.
K Crane: Doesn't have near the selection they used to.And they stopped taking checks.
Gavin Peryer: Good
Jesicca Williams: I'm there almost every weekend. My manga and mango dragon fruit drink its a good time.
Braden Deal: Soooo many books!
Mckenzie Breedlove: Didn’t have Lana del rey magazine in stock:,(
Chris Crosby: It is exactly what you expect from a Barns & Noble. Books, coffee and a bunch of kids running around. Don't mind any of it.
Brandy Howard: always love this store!!
Robert Varusa: Great place to, grab a coffee and find a favorite read. Also, a good location, not hard to park !

Renaissance Books & Gifts: what do users think?
CinderAngel3: Great selection of items and cool stuff
Alaina Mulvihill: I have been going to this store for years. I love how kind and passionate the employees are. Anytime you have questions, they are more than happy to help. You have so many options as far as books and gift go. If you are a crystal and candle lover like me, you'll be in heaven.
Jessica Marie: I could probably write a novel about how awesome this place is but to save some time you'll just have to check it out for yourself. You won't regret it!
Emily Richardson: We stopped into this store for a ring. The woman at the counter was very quick in assisting us, very knowledgeable about the stones, and so friendly and helpful. I left with exactly what I came for! I would recommend this store to anyone. Good quality good prices
Jd Underwood: Great place. Great gifts, cards. Always smells great.
Jes Julsgard: Fantastic atmosphere, good people, many books, tons of rocks, incense everywhere, statues on everything
Luke “Cool hand”: Bad inventory Mgmt
Robert DelMar: Always a Zen and peaceful place.
Sarah Lexie: Absolutely wonderful experience! Everyone was so kind and knowledgeable with great prices. I strongly recommend this store and I will be returning. A big thank you to the wonderful staff!
Stephanie Buchanan: An amazing shop if you are in need of witchy supplies. Highly recommend!!
Kassidy Gregory: I live in Michigan, but I am always looking forward to the next time I visit Missouri so I can stop by this store :)
Jesicca Williams: I like it. Nice place to get your magical goods.Minus one star for the guy who is always a grump. Other than him, everyone there is really cool.
Nicole Ahlstrand: Love it ..BoHo unique selections..great gifts also
Daniel Oldfield-Clark: Nice people and has way more than books.
Jennifer Pleiman: I recently moved to Springfield and don’t know the area too well. I came here after being horribly treated by a worker at mystics in north Springfield. I had purchased a salt lamp from them and the worker didn’t give me the cord/light with it. I came all the way back to the store to get it and she told me sternly that it didn’t come with one. Really? I knew for a fact it did (it wasn’t the first one I had purchased from them) aside from the absolute obvious but her unwillingness to help me, her complete disinterest in the store in general and the way she talked down to me calling me “hun” (I must be 10 years older than her) I will never go back.I go to Renaissance books and have the total opposite experience. The workers are incredibly helpful and even happily spared me cord and light for my salt lamp like it wasn’t a big deal because it wasn’t.. we go to these stores wanting to be in an environment like Renaissance has. We want to be around knowledgeable people who care about their customers. I’m glad I found a place to shop I’m welcome at :)
Suzie Williams: Very lovely store, friendly staff.
Jack Knee: Wonderful place !
Ingrid Vigil: As always, this place has all kinds of amazing things to check out, and the people there are just really easy to connect with...can't recommend this place enough
Alicia Pacheco: Kind and professional staff always willing to lend a helping hand. Great products and educational books of all types to help you strengthen your religious beliefs. Would recommend to all!
Robert Gary (Rob): Always love the vibe here
Adam Plott: Been coming here for years! They have all my rock, mineral, and book needs! The crew is absolutely awesome! A MUST visit!

Pagination Bookshop: what do users think?
Rafailia Vogiatzis: This was a fun find! If love books, the anesthetics of the layout of the store will please you. Very awesome place.
Eva Beshears: I love walking to Pagination and getting my puzzles (and books) from here. It's a lovely bookstore with an awesome vibe.
Brook Demm: The best bookstore in Springfield!!!
Kristin Harper: Such a quaint and cute local book store inside an old house off historic Walnut street and only a few blocks from Missouri State University campus. I nice place to buy used and new books, and their back patio is where they sometimes hold events! I went to the recent book reading, q&a and book signing with the author of Bronze Drum and it was a wonderful night and good event!Street parking nearby is free, but sometimes hard to get in the weekend evenings. Plenty of spaces during the week! Highly recommend everyone checking it out.
Jonathan Kershaw: Super friendly staff and lovely place to shop.
Jacob B: Poorly organized, limited inventory. I looked at 3 used books that caught my eye and 2 of them were former library books from Springfield library. They are animals friendly, as 3 customers had their dogs in the building on leashes but it scared my son because the dogs barked a bunch when we walked in. Not a typical bookstore vibe.
Kelly Hochanadel (Kelly I. Hitchcock): This store was SO cute and the staff were super friendly.
Chloe Shaw: I’m not a person who leaves reviews (this is probably the first and only review I’ve ever left), but I had to help out this wonderful, wonderful bookshop. As soon as you enter this place it feels like home, along with little reading nooks filled with books and a lovely shop owner who might give you a free bookmark if you’re kind. He greeted me and discussed books with such amazing patience. I loved it here and so will you 😊 Wonderful selection as well, I picked up three lovely copies of science fiction books I have been dying to read.
Ella Kiersey: Beautiful quiet bookstore!
Davine Nash: I booked an unrelated appointment at this location and stumbled upon this beautiful little bookstore😍 I can't wait to return!
Thomas Nowacki: Lots of books to choose from
R Turer: Loved my first visit. Was at large event so need to be back and explore more quietly. Could be a 5?
Julia Taylor: Lovely independent bookshop. Very friendly. Collecting items for the local unsheltered community
Haley Gray Nelson: Amazing people, books, location, vibe ✨
Tina Austin: This is my go to book store in the area. Great in shop selection and an easy to use online store.
Leslie S: The bookstore where everyone knows your name ❤️ I love this locally -owned shop. They offer so many books that the big chain stores ignore, and they can order you anything that you want! They also make GREAT recommendations based on your interests or needs.
Stephanie Atteberry: Love what they are doing! Very welcoming! Can't wait to come back to get to look around!
Bethany Dixon: The owners are friendly and incredibly helpful, the store is so lovely and welcoming, and their curation service is AMAZING. We needed a box of books put together for a family with a lot of children in a wide range of ages and Jen was able to put together a great selection that fit the age ranges and interests of the family, within our budget and time constraints, and she did it astonishingly quickly. She saved me HOURS of frustration and heartache trying to figure it out myself, and I was so pleased with her choices. I cannot speak highly enough of it. Pagination is perfect for anyone looking for a local bookstore to support and anyone who needs a recommendation for themselves or someone else.
Faye Griffin: Very friendly. Very professional.
greg askew: The best Esthetician in Springfield is on the second floor. Visit Brenna at BrenEsthetics!!
Levi Jackson: A hidden gem near downtown. There is a great selection here and if they don't have it they will order it for you.

OTC Bookstore: what do users think?
Shragi Hershberg: Never got my items I ordered them over 1 month ago and never showed up
eric schleman: I just love reading!!! awesome sauce!!
Killian Lile: Staff are extremely helpful and nice, easy to navigate and find stuff that you need.
ronda mcfaul: Always excellent staff.
Da Juan Murphy Sr: Always an enjoyable time. The employees are really nice & super helpful.
Austin Koehler: Super friendlyExtraordinarily helpfulVery honest too they could have tried to sell me the store, yet they told me what I needed and what I should wait on, and I highly respect them for that.Otc has been phenomenal all the way aroundAnd I'm actually proud to say that I'm a student there because of just the decency every staff member has treated me with makes me know that they really want their students to do well without too much hassle. So if the people working there sees this I wanna thank yall again publicly so people can feel the sincerity in this review.Cause I'm brutally honest in my reviews and I have not one bad thing to say except classes need to hurry and get here cause I'm excited to start!!
lucky cloud: Pretty bad selection of books overall, it just for class books, has way too overpriced electronics all around, basically scalping/ripoff prices, but has some decent snacks, but overpriced jerky for the amount. Books are also overpriced and can be found online for free. Staff was good at doing their job.
Matthew Sheppard: Super friendly and helpful staff.
Andrew Rasmussen: It was downright the best shopping experience I've ever had. I am going to start doing all my grocery shopping and clothes shopping here!
Joseph Duncan: Easy to find the books I needed for class. They also have computers, tech, and swag.
J R: I went to school briefly, was invited to church by 2 different teachers. This school isn’t capable of following their own rules. I shouldn’t have to pay for going to school here but I did. This tells me that they are mainly after money. I’ll pray for you disrespectful religious people. God Bless.
CMN R: They do not give you cash back, if you purchased a book using cash, and need to return it, you WILL NOT get your money back, they just give you credit on your account. It says on the receipt that they can put credit onto a credit card if refunding a cash purchase, but many college students don't have a credit card. Also if you purchase a new book in it's wrapping, DO NOT open it until you actually start the class. You cannot return opened books for full refund even if you never used it. My daughter bought a book she was told she needed for a class. On the first day of class she found out she didn't need the book afterall. Paid $100 for this one book, thank goodness she didn't open it yet. UPDATE, just bought more books and noticed at the bottom of the reciept it says only 3 DAYS to return items, except for course items-13 days. This doesn't give you much time to make a return.
Aicha Ben: I love the bookstore so much, they have the best employees there. When I get stuck on finding items or books, the employees do not hesitate to help me. There is an employee named George that’s always taking care of new students that come in the bookstore, and he is very good at taking student pictures, so if you ever come across him, please have him take your picture for you.The bookstore sells all kinds of merchandise, so let’s say you want to grab a snack, wanting some new clothes or feeling a little down, the bookstore offers snacks clothes(with our OTC eagle on it) and all sorts of things! So if you ever have the chance please by the bookstore, you won’t regret walking there! They are the best!
Lauren Powell: I’ve never had a single good experience at this book store but everything elsewhere because they don’t know what they are doing they don’t send you any emails on where your stuff is. This place is such a mess
Kristina Nelson: The lady who answered the phone was very rude. I thanked her for helping me but she just hung up on me.
Giuliano Bruno: Very good place to work and even better place to get books!
Seth G: I'd say they're pretty cool!
Queen Mino: they be dope
Mike Watts: Great place to shop! Employees are helpful and it's a fun environment.
ChannaMoo ChannaMoo: I give the store a 4 overall. If I could rate staff separately I’d give them a 5 but this is a review of the bookstore as a whole. The prices are WAY inflated, so pricing gets a 2.5 or 3. Accessibility gets a 4. Variety gets a 4.5.So overall 4 should suffice.
Alycia Taylor: Would not recommend selling book back here. Over $400 worth of books bought and only received $91 for great condition books. Will be looking somewhere else to sell my book for next semester.
