Paul Niesen: This little restaurant is a gem. Parking was tight, but the food and service more than made up for that inconvenience. I enjoyed the shrimp kebab -- wonderfully seasoned, served with rice and seasonal vegetables. Our party feasted on humus and flatbread as an appetizer. Our waiter recommended a wine that went well with our dishes. In all, an absolute treat. I look forward to my next visit there!Vegetarian options: The menu has a nice array of vegetarian-friendly dishes. They all sounded wonderful.
Sonjay Joseph Fonn, DO: Dang! Where do I start. The ambiance, music and hostess were the only good things. Place was empty on a Friday night which was our first clue as to the impending horrible food and service - the waiter was in a regular tee shirt and shorts😳, took forever despite only two other tables, forgot our salad; and the food didn’t make up for it - dry, stringy overcooked kabobs and old dry rice. $60 for an appetizer and entree.

Ashley: Has this restaurant always automatically added 20% gratuity? We’ve come to this restaurant at least 10 times always on a Friday night and we’ve never looked at the itemized receipt. Tonight was different because I was curious on how much they charged for the chocolate martini and I saw the gratuity on there. We never cared to look at the itemized receipt because we always tip 20%. I am going to be livid if our server which is usually the blond guy with glasses has been receiving a 40% tip the other 10 times we’ve been there. In addition, the 20% tip is not posted anywhere in the restaurant or on the menu.

Farnaz Babaie: Great Turkish food! We had Kofte and Islandar. Both were delicious and tasty. The staff were so polite and nice. They checked with us very often and refill drinks almost every 5 mins. It was good but I think it was too much. I have one small point that they can easily fix. It was so dark there. We could not see what was in our plate.
Sean Murphy: This restaurant is an absolute hidden gem, and we have dined here enough times to assert this fact. Friday night was no exception; Prescott took care of us, which was the second time we’ve had him as our server, and he did not disappoint. Super well-versed on the menu AND of Mediterranean cuisine and wine, he steered us in the right direction while also taking exceptional care of us.I ordered the Tavuk (chicken) stew. Served in cast iron, it reminded me of a delicious yet not-too-spicy chicken Tikka or Tandoori dish, the latter of which as Prescott described it. We got the Meze platter for the table, and everything on it was fresh and delicious, but OMG the hummus and fresh pita are as good as they come! My spouse had the Kofte platter, and that might be my favorite dish of all.All in all, consistently delicious with unique and fresh flavors, paired with outstanding service and beautiful interior decor, are what keep us coming back again and again.
Egemen Curuk: This place is an experience!I was introducing Turkish cuisine to my friend and this restaurant made me feel proud. We got lahmacun (it’s quite big like a pizza) very rich in flavor, shish lamb kebab (see picture) I mean it speaks for itself. The grilled vegetables were great as a side. We also ordered a skewer of Adana, it was an experimental version of the authentic Adana kebab and it was indeed very good. That was my friend’s favorite. Also, baklava was PERFECT. The chef of this restaurant is an expert in seafood, you’ll see the news stories in the entrance. Definitely try those options. Have it with some Rakı.Other than that, great ambiance, nice concept, great lounge type music, well trained and professional staff, welcoming host. The place has a very nice high-end vibe. We will definitely come back, with more people! Serefe!

MG: I had a bad experience at my first visit but still gave it a second try and now I love going to this restaurant. Service has been improved compared to last year, ambience is great and washrooms are clean and well maintained . Kendra Marsh: I really love the vegetarian dolma here. It’s handmade and absolutely delicious, I could eat it everyday (most restaurants in the area and country serve canned). Meals are served with lentil soup to start. Highly recommend the mint lemonade. For appetizer I usually choose the hummus and fattoush. I really love the variety of fresh veggies in the fattoush.It’s incredibly busy on the weekend and sometimes completely full at nights. This is family owned and operated, one of my favorite restaurants for sure!

Rachana Baghel: We ordered a mix grill and lamb chops. The grilled items were too dry and the lamb chops were completely burnt on the edges. They were not edible at all. The salad did taste fresh as well. After raising this concern, the server did nothing and just left. We ordered a lentil soup to push the dry rice and some of grilled items in as we were so hungry. Food doesnt look like anything in the pictures. We were fooled. We paid them plus a tip and left. Hope they learn to treat customers better.Surely we will never go back to this place and will never recommend anybody!

All the dishes that I've tried have been spectacular. I had this tomato and okra soup with rice once, it was tasted pretty strange to me at first, but it was still great. I recommend anyone who wants to expand their taste horizons to give it a try. The inside is charming and very comfortable. The staff are always wonderful too. I could eat it with a spoon and be perfectly happy, it's so good.Parking: The parking is on Gravois, it's nothing special, just a lot. There's always plenty of space. Probably about 15 spots.Wheelchair accessibility: You don't need to walk up any stairs to get to the door, so I think it should be wheelchair accessible. I don't use a wheelchair, though, so I'm not really sure.Dietary restrictions: Everything here is halal, so Muslims can eat it.

Karebear: If I could give no stars I would. First time customer here and I love middle eastern cuisine so I wanted to give this place a try. I placed an order for the Fatoush Salad with Chicken, Cheese Fatayer and Shish Tawuk Sandwich. First off I would like to say that the atmosphere was nice and it was a pretty large space. Great for large groups and there was outside sitting. I ordered carry out and still had to wait 45mins for my food to be done upon arrival. Upon receiving my food and finally getting home to eat, I can officially say that I will not be returning. The food was inedible and was not fresh. Totally wasn’t even worth the wait! The Fatoush Salad had soggy pita bread and the added chicken smelled old. The 4pc. Cheese Fatayer seemed to be a pastry right out of the freezer, the outside pale and not crispy or brown. Finally the Shish Tawuk Sandwich….broke it open to see what I was dealing with and it had barely any garlic paste, three small pieces of chicken, peppers which shouldn’t of been on there, lots of cilantro, and the pickle was soggy not crisp. Threw my food into the trash. Do not recommend this place. Not wasting another dime at this establishment. Will travel elsewhere.

Wood walls blue false skylights, and some cowboy movie playing on TV. Music was appropriate. Two water bottles were brought to our table, these you will be charged 1$ for, so do not assume they are free. The Syrian chicken and potatoes was good. Mixed plate meats were very dry, the yogurt helped but not much. The kibbeh came with a small salad mix and were extremely hot, and came after the entrees were brought to us. Food meh, service meh. Overall meh.

The main entree was good for 2 meals for me (if you're not really hungry). Nice ambiance. The server slash cook was a bit shy but he was nice to us. It's definitely a good try. M K: It has been about a year since we’ve eaten at Js. We love it however, it is a bit of a treat for us. We went in for donations kebab sandwich but it was not the same as it used to be. The chicken instead of coming off of the rotisserie like the beef kebab does, is now just a breast of chicken that they grill. It is not the same sandwich and was a bit disappointing. When I asked the young lady taking the orders about it, she was quite unfriendly and basically told me how expensive it was for them to use that chicken and how they were losing so much money and then she proceeded to tell me that I’ve had it that way with the grilled chicken because they’ve been doing that for a while. I’ve only had it with the chicken that was on the rotisserie and I’m not sure why she acted the way that she did. I was just asking a question about the change in ingredients because the sandwich doesn’t taste the same as it used to and that is why I come there is to get that sandwich. My husband had the Berliner and it was delicious.

That he makes it for his business. Maybe I misunderstood, but as someone who grew up in chesterfield. We used to always go to Pita Plus when it was under different ownership and if they did not have fresh pita for sale out in the main area, they would run in back and grab some frozen pita. Does this place still sell Pita and what do you have to do to get some.... Not pleased with interaction and they do not seem to care about the business either. Pita Plus used to be the best of the best. But, it is not the best when the customer service is awful. Best of luck.

Food is always very good and the owner behind the counter is always helpful, nice and courteous. I would definitely recommend the place. I never needed to order ahead. I thought I'd write a review because most of the other reviews mention gyros and falafel, which are great, but I thought I'd mention the egg salad pita. It is delicious! They use spices that aren't typical in the American version - not overwhelming, just adds a new touch. They also include fresh veggies, which I really like as well (diced white onion, cucumber, tomato, and lettuce, with a pickle spear on the side). As some others have mentioned, the burekas are really yummy, too!
Maggie Hughes: Terrible customer service. I got the tandoori chicken sandwich. The description said nothing about being breaded. The chicken came out soggy and, in my opinion, inedible. It was also VERY spicy with no "hot" warning. After telling the manager what my problems were with the food, I asked as nicely as I could for a different sandwich filling. I was told I would have to purchase another sandwich. She said this is how they've made it for 12 years and they can't change the recipe just for me. I DID NOT ASK HER TO CHANGE THE RECIPE. I didn't even want a brand new sandwich. I just wanted a different meat. I work at a restaurant and I know the cost of replacing 3-4oz of meat is not worth a bad customer experience or a bad review. I don't care how good you think your food is or how long you've been making it that way; if the customer asks for something different, you do your best to accommodate them, especially if they are nice about it. To top it all off, after refusing to buy another sandwich, the woman went in the kitchen and complained about me to another employee loudly enough for me to hear it. So yeah, definitely won't be coming back.

Cassie Leavitt: Had a late lunch and the food was delicious. There was only one other table seated when we came in. And we were greeted by a very friendly server. There was a mix up with one of the orders that the server noticed on her way to the table, kabobs instead of the chops that were ordered and she instantly told us to have the first order while she had the correct one made. Q: I gave 2 stars because the staff was really nice! However, I did not like the food at all. The rice was very bland. The chicken kebabs and shrimp both tasted weird and left alot to be desired. My food overall did not give a Mediterranean cuisine vibe at all. I asked the owner was the food Mediterranean or Middle Eastern. She said it was Middle Eastern. That could be the reason I didn’t care for it. Also, they don’t have Tzatziki sauce which is what I love when it comes to Mediterranean food. I won’t be back but give it a try if you like more of a middle eastern flare.
