Noor Issa: Such a nice brunch spot. The food was delicious and the service was quick and flawless. The workers were very kind and friendly. I absolutely recommend this spot.Recommended dishes Nutella, Arugula, Side of Breakfast Potatoes, Nutella Crepe, Fried Egg Sandwich, Breakfast Burrito Crepe, Breakfast Sandwich …More
veronica king: The Manager this Saturday afternoon just cursed me out. Unacceptable behavior.
Jamie Haruska: Brunch was amazing! There were multiple vegan and vegetarian options, as well as traditional meat choices. The food came out quickly, the vibe was on point, and the staff were friendly. We got the veggie scramble, goat cheese/ mushroom crepe and a half order of the vegetarian biscuits and gravy. All was reasonably priced. We didn’t have cocktails but they looked amazing.
Jafer Abbas: Waited 10 minutes at entrance was never seated. Went across the street to Sen Thai 10/10 better experience.
P L M: Food: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 3/5More
Quirin Rall: Nice place to have breakfast. Good selection of food, perfect quality and a good price. You are sitting in a loft style designed hall, which makes it a bit noisy - so getting there well rested is better. I love the coloring and funny paintings - it must have been pro designing that restaurant. Service is Standard, nothing to remember.
Logan Wertin: I absolutely love the food here. The pancakes are huge and the drinks are delicious. The service is mostly good, but I'm more focused on the food at a place like this.
Ben Pavlovits: If you know anything about cooking, you're not going to like this place. Eggs are simultaneously dripping with oil AND overcooked. The avocados were hard/inedible. And in my veggie omelet, I recognized random bits of other misc. omelets, like chorizo and bacon-- which isn't gross by itself, it's just indicative of the fact that they don't clean their pans. This is all made worse by the fact that a tea bag costs $5. For those that don't drink tea: EXPENSIVE tea is like .50c a bag at the grocery store. Everything here is of the lowest possible quality with some of the highest prices in town.
Johnbosco Okpala: Nice brunch selectionFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Arthur Greenup II: We had one of the best breakfasts in St. Louis. Their omelets are to die for. The staff was helpful, our server Danny really made the experience here even better. Happy and joyful. Get up. Go there. Eat good.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Mike: Great sourdough toast. Great gravy. Good eggs. Check your silverware, plates, cups, etc to make sure they are clean.Food: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Biscuits & Gravy, Gravy, And Gravy, Rooster Slinger, Toast …More
Waifu._. Material: The crepes are very rubbery 🙄
Peter Jackson: Good standard American breakfast place. I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy. If you ask for scrambled eggs, they will come runny even when you ask for them hard or well done. I have sent them back every time to be cooked more. Fresh grapefruit and orange juice, wonderful.
Linda Sherwood: The worst biscuits and gravy I have ever had!!Extremely odd flavor. Biscuits were hard!I was really looking forward to a great breakfast and was extremely disappointed!!On the plus side, our waitress was really good and took care of our unhappiness with our food.
Ryan Leigh Runyon: With a high ceiling, cheerful yellow seating, graffiti-type chicken art, and egg-shaped globes on the lights, Rooster has a relaxed atmosphere from the moment you walk in. There's a huge u-shaped community table that was surely a bar in a previous life, along with tables and booths. We've noticed that some restaurants here provide glasses and a carafe of water at every table (or every two chairs along a community table), which is especially nice while you're waiting for a server just after being seated. We had breakfast/brunch here two days in a row - it was that good! Between the two of us, we had the biscuit and gravy, the stuffed French toast (the thickest I've ever seen), and we shared the scramble with bacon, goat cheese, arugula, etc. both days. The scramble is, without a doubt, something we will try to replicate at home.
Debbie Einsteder: Food was ok.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
EVE Mc Donald: Loud food was just ok..Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Kelsey Jo: Food was pretty good, but service was severely lacking and it was extremely overpriced . I definitely don’t recommend going on a busy day like I made the mistake of doing.
Amnon Nachshon: Thank god the food was good because the rest was ok. They only open at 8am so there was a long line outside and I can’t imagine the pressure in the kitchen. Maybe that is why the food took so long to arrive.
Emily Scott: Overpriced mediocre crepes

Patrick Dieter: The best grits in the Midwest! My favorite brunch spot in STL with a diverse menu that can satisfy all eaters. The poached eggs are phenomenal. Also a great staff, the owner and GM are very personable, and the bartender and waitress never have a drink empty. Food always comes fast! I prefer the Gravois vibe to midtown.
Turd Sammich: This is my favorite breakfast place of all time. I'd eat here everyday if I could. So effing good. Friendly staff too. Clean environment.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Cornbread Benedict …More
Daniel Kiwacka: Service was stellar and food was phenomenal. Had the Carne asada Mexican slinger that was recommended to me and they were phenomenal. Also got a Paloma and it was refreshing and delicious.
Rhonda Cammann: They give small portions for the price you pay, but the food was excellent.Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Breakfast Tostada …More
Yolanda Mcgill: I’m sitting here on Mother’s Day’s (with my daughter who brought me here) and my waiter never got my order right, and my breakfast was served separately because he didn’t remember what I ordered… I’ve already eaten my breakfast and now comes my French toast which is the second item that was forgotten… maybe he should have had a note pad!!! Food tastes ok.Parking: Pretty convenient parking easily accessible
Beau boy: Excellent breakfast spot on Gravois!!! El Ranchero was awesome! My companion said the best omelet she's ever had! Great fresh vegetables and flavorful delicious well cooked beans. Highly recommended!!!
Oniel Polanco: Is a bid expensive . Good flavor. Although. The shashuka was. More like a soup of veggies. Thou … something changed there
Nicole M: throughly enjoyed our meal here. the food was tasty, staff was nice, and the environment was very cute. would love to come back again.
William Hopper: Busy place, but not so busy that there was a long wait. Wait staff was very pleasant. The presentation of the food matched its flavor which was amazing. Definitely would recommend this place!
Michael Moussa: Food was alright but wasn’t worth the 1.) wait 2.) the price 3.) The serviceThe waitlist system is archaic. No phone number writing or online resy/texting system. Me and 20 others huddled shoulder to shoulder in the small front room waiting for our names to be called. The server forgot our coffee and water 3 times then made weird jokes.Wait for food was ~45 min. I’d give the smoked pork belly Benedict an 6/10. The pork belly itself was good but the rest of the dish didn’t have much flavor. The Chakchouka is unique and an 8/10.Was super excited to try this place from all the recommendations and I really wanted to like it.
lafayettecatering: 16.00 for Cornbread and Gravy!!!
Ray Hendershot: Another great meal here but I do have to say the pricing has increased making it a little hard to stomach.Mimosa, French Toast, and Bacon was $38 with tip.Eggs gonna have to be more of a treat brunch instead of a regular occurrence. On the flip side the staff is really quick and friendly. The food is wonderful quality and bursts with flavor.
Kasey Miller: They have a small menu but what I had was very good! It's pretty tightly packed in there and our waiter didn't really say much.Food: 5/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Smoked Pork Belly Benedict …More
Keletso Thaga: Beautiful spot inside a remodeled historic building. Great breakfast and lunch choices. I ordered Chackchouka. Filled me upParking: Plenty of parking next to Studio and Street ParkingWheelchair accessibility: Small Elevator
Brooke Mollison: My fiancé and I went here for my birthday. We chose this place because of the menu and it was open on a Tuesday morning with alcoholic drinks (birthday celebration). Such a cute place! And the food was amazing! As well as the staff! I had the breakfast tacos and my fiancé had the El americano meal. Everything was delicious!!! Will definitely be back!
Daniel H: I'm leaving a review so that when they eventually find out that there are some incredibly addictive substance inside of those pancakes that I can say I called it.There were five people at my table, we each ordered something different, and we all tried everybody's dishes. Everything was amazing. It doesn't make sense. It was so good.
Dorothy Widelka: My family and I were visiting from out of town and were excited to try out this breakfast restaurant based on all the positive reviews we read. We felt extremely misled and would not recommend eating here. My group of 4 was seated at a table that only had 3 chairs, and the server walked away without even getting another chair. We had come in about 20 minutes after they opened, so it was not too busy within the restaurant.Groups that came in after us were able to order their food before us, receive their food before us, and pay before we were even given our food. We waited over 45 minutes for our food and we had to chase down our server to ask him how much longer until our food would be ready. When we finally received our food, it was cold, the French toast was soggy, and the breakfast tostada was dripping in oil. We would have asked the server and tried to get our food situation worked out, but we could never find our server until it was time to hand us the check. He dropped off the check in a hurry and quickly without ever asking how our food was, if we wanted the bill to he split, or if we wanted any refills on our coffee or waters. Overall, our food was cold, bland, and far too expensive for the small portions. I had high hopes for the eggs, given the name of the restaurant, but I have honestly made better poached eggs at home. It was extremely disappointing and not worth all the money that we spent. :(

Chris' @ The Docket: what do users think?
Mike Romeo: Was there on memorial day for breakfast - one of the few open places in downtown for breakfast. Was alone and assigned a place at the bar. Service was quick and friendly. The place is run professionally and efficient - a lot of food comes out of the kitchen.Menu is rather small and for breakfast offers typical American choices - not too ambitious...missing healthy and fresh options - also missing clear labeling regarding vegetarian/ vegan food options. Coffee was free refill.Would go there again and would recommend the place to any party looking for a conventional American breakfast. No place for adventure-seeking foodies.
JD Pearson: I enjoy the breakfast all the timeRecommended dishes Belgian Waffle …More
Cody Cummings: Let me start by saying that Chris’ is great option for diner style menu items if you’re in the downtown area, and don’t mind a short walk to eat there. They are also big on mimosas with 9 different kinds on the menu, so it’s great if you’re grabbing brunch with friends.I tried the Chris’andwich, a highly customizable breakfast sandwich that reminds me of a sausage egg and cheese croissandwhich from BK, but actually good.I also tried the Cali Eggs Benedict and the poached eggs were cooked pretty close to perfect. The hollandaise sauce was a little on the salty side, but overall it was pretty good. The smoked chicken grits were heavy and tasty, but it’s a big portion, so make sure you save room.Overall it was an inexpensive meal that was fast, filling and well made. Definitely worth stopping by for a Sunday breakfast or during the week for a quick lunch.
Meredith McAdam: Excellent brunch and friendly staff! It was great!
Lachrista Derington: A friend and I always make sure we visit when she's in town! We love this place!Parking: No much so good luck!

Dana Herbst: Last week we came down town for breakfast and a trip to IKEA, ended up in a finder bender on Grand and we asked the responding officer who had the best breakfast in the area and this place was his response. The atmosphere is nice, staff wasn't overly friendly, but not unfriendly either.Food however was great. I had the summer omelete with hash and French toast. The amount of cheese to ingredient ratio was perfect in the omelete, hashbrowns are decent, however toast wasn't really toasted. French toast was tasty, didn't finish it, but took it home and did later (I never eat my leftovers)The big guy had a country omelete and the kiddo cheesy eggs, bacon, and cakes. Strawberry lemonade was good, but not the best I've ever had.Would definitely come again. Limited lunch menu.
Cade Long: Excellent costs. The atmosphere and service was amazing and friendly and just felt like Saint Louis. The only recommendation I have is more vegetarian and vegan options. Aside from that, excellent choice for breakfast.Recommended dishes Mediterranean, Short Stack Pancakes …More
Troy Harris: Little bit of a wait to get in, I usually won't wait for food. I'm glad I took a chance and stuck around. Delicious food, generous portions, great service and an early bar make this place worth waiting for. Next time I'm in town I'll eat here again.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Neil Jones: Amazing Bloody Mary Mix. Tasty breakfast fried rice. I don’t know what they do to it but it is great and when you put the chili sauce on it, it brings it to another level. The wait staff is great, too. (Brenda)
Sherrie Snyder: Third time here, gluten free pancakes are a win!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Harrison Mcdonald: The Manager Audrey Was Amazing. Smiles and gives Gives great Results. Came from Chicago and she made us feel like we was from St Louis.Kid-friendliness: Very Family oriented and welcoming
Tiffany Brandell: Very good food at decent prices for downtown STL. A couple of us had omelettes, and those were very delicious! The sourdough bread was amazing, as well.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Nichole Renn: Wow! If you want delicious food, allergy friendly menu options and exceptional service Rooster is where you need to go!! Our server, Montra, was very personable and was attentive to detail when it came to my many allergies!
Lynne Hart: Hate the inside setup so we only come in summer. Service is always great and fast if you arrive outside peak brunch time. Food is good but it feels like they removed some health options from the menu. Not sure.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Elizabeth Loudon: So disappointed. Couldn't order what we wanted because they were out of avocado. Paid more to add the chicken sausage to a different scramble. Both our potatoes were hard and undercooked. After trying a few, I did mention this to the waiter. He brought a side of more undercooked potatoes. My friend and I both had to take our dishes home to recook them because half the potatoes were inedible. I mentioned this a few times. $49 including tip for 2 black coffees and 2 half inedible scrambles.

Marsha Hall: Solid brunch place with good coffee, mimosa and bloody mary offerings. We tried the strawberry doughnuts and were disappointed with the plain doughnut holes/ hushpuppies that were served with strawberry syrup. They have some vegan options and lots of pancake, waffle, crepe choices. I have eaten on the patio and inside. Both were pleasant. The servers are hopping and mostly keeping things covered.
Glynis McManamon: Enjoyed my mushroom and brie crepe and Turkish coffee. Food delicious, wait staff attentive.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Ryan Milley: Decided to step up our breakfast game while in the Lou. We got here before the brunch crowd rolled in on a Saturday. Very cool building and interior! Could totally see someone playing a live acoustic set here or a DJ spinning, lol. Ordered the bloody, it was thick and chunky (not quite how I like it) and no heat. However, I ordered the bacon (real bacon -thick sliced), goat cheese, red onion, arugula, tomato jam and pesto scramble. It was outstanding!! Additionally, order the donuts...OMG, they are delicious!!! The service was on point as well. Definitely worth the trip!!

Scott Grenerth: A good friend suggested this spot and I'm glad she did. They had a fantastic vegan biscuits and gravy. I mean spectacularly good! The service was excellent too. My friend loved her dish and made it clear the food here is always great. We went on a Sunday morning and by the time we left there was a loooong line of people waiting for a table, so plan accordingly in that situation. I'd be VERY glad to go back again!Vegetarian options: They had a fantastic vegan biscuits and gravy on the breakfast menu. I mean spectacularly good!Parking: There was a decent sized lot directly behind Rooster and on a Sunday morning there were a few spots available when we arrived, but by the time we left there were no open spots.
Patrick Gilfoil: Recommended dishes Biscuits & GravyMore
Jyotsna Nath: Food is always great here. Love this place.
Amelia Allen: I love the food & drinks. The waiters are always nice. Sometimes the wait times are kinda crazy but they’re doing their best! I’m a loyal customer!Vegetarian options: Options for all dietary restrictionsDietary restrictions: Gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, dairy free options
L B: What a great place on Grand Ave. in the city! Went there for late breakfast on a weekday before the Fox Theater matinee. Holy cow! Vegan options! I got a tofu scramble breakfast with plant based sausage! Yeah! My sister got a standard American breakfast. We were both happy. The food was good, the server was terrific and customized the meal for me, and the atmosphere was trendy. We're going to try lunch next time!Back again for a second go, but did do breakfast again. Do want to put a word in for our waiter who we had again too. The place was full due to graduations at nearby schools. Yet Joseph H. Was amazing! Worked a lot of tables he but still was so calm and attentive, making you feel special. Worth going for the service here!If there is any one downside, it is the way they have seating arranged. Tables slid together to make long, cafeteria type seating.Parking: Free parking in the lot around back.
Rishikesh Datha Algole: Reducing rating as the staff is annoying. Waiting time is exceptionally high, they won’t ask whether you prefer inside or outside, lot of tables are empty but never filled. This place probably has staffing issues like all over nation, probably overworked staff who obviously won’t be smiling and friendly.Fork and knife set had unwashed food on them, so I asked for replacement, waiter asked if I need fork only and if I’m going to use knife at all. Just get me another set sir, they were touching each other in wrapped cloth, so probably unsanitary anyways.Food is good, picture shows Fried Egg Sandwich. King smoothie is also good. Veggie Crepe and Crepe with Brie cheese were also good.I would definitely say that food is not worth the wait though, if you have other choice go ahead with other choice.
Kory: This was the first time my family and I had eaten here. We were in St Louis for the weekend and tried this place on a Monday for their variety, including sweet and savory crepes, and Gluten Free options for someone else in our party.Pros: menu variety, coffee drinks, fresh ingredients, crepes, seasoned food.Con: slow service, not super attentiveOur party was 4 adults and 3 kids. It took about 10-15 min for someone to give us water's, then another 10+ min to take drink orders. Food took a while but that's expected with a larger group. Check ins after food arrived was also few and far between. The food is very tasty and well seasoned, and the seasonal Vietnamese Iced Coffee was very good, too. Only thing lacking was attentive and timely service from our server.Would recommend any of the hashes or skillets as well as the crepe with strawberry and Nutella. Both were very good. They have kid friendly options, too.Wheelchair accessibility: I believe there is a ramp near the entrance for wheel chair accessibility.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free options, including crepes.
William Shirley (Bill): Visited on a Sunday at one of the peak morning times. Was given a 20 estimated wait time. Received a simultaneous text and phone call within 5 minutes for outdoor seating (weather was July, but suitable). Food was good. Service fast. Server friendly and courteous. Checkout by Square or similar system which recognized my credit card and emailed a receipt.Kid-friendliness: Kid-friendlyParking: Good sized parking lot
