For my wedding dress she not only completed alterations, but added a bustle and attached a glitter belt. The dress truly felt custom to me and the alterations were absolutely perfect the first time I went in for a fitting. The attachment of the belt was perfect and it looked like it was made for the dress. Irina and her team helped save the day when we discovered a large dirt stain on my dress a day before the wedding! We called Irina hoping for advice on how we could get it out, but instead she said to bring it in and she would see what could be done! She kept in constant contact with my mother and managed to get the stain completely out and were were able to get the dress just a few hours later! Lulu Sheremeta: Irina is the best person to handle an expensive, detailed, designer gown. My dress needed a bustle, hemming, sleeve adjustments and some custom work over the bodice. It requires very detailed and delicate work because is was glittery, beaded, and sequined. The end product looked incredible and professional. My favorite was the bustle. It made the back of my gown flow beautifully and looked even more magical when I was dancing. I received so many compliments from guests, wedding vendors, and my family still continues to talk about how it was one of the most exquisite wedding gowns they’ve ever seen. Dana Comer: When I ordered my dress and picked it up it fit just right, however over a little time gained a little weight thankfully Yelena has done magic work and you’d never know she added extra material in the sides and got the exact same material it looks like it was made for me, she added cups because who wants to wear a bra on their wedding day 😂. She also added my simple bustle. Aside from normal wedding dress adds she also added sentimental pieces to my dress, my belt, the navy blue material being the waistband from my grandpas navy uniform in which still can be read with his name, then we added the Pearl belt on top. She also added to the top of my dress Pearl beads from my moms dress, I always wanted to use part of my moms dress and since her lace was too discolored this actually worked absolutely perfectly and added the perfect touch to my dress I could not be more thankful for Yelena for making my perfect dress even more perfectService:Wedding gown alterations

Lexi Smith: I had a dress hemmed here about a year ago and it was a horrible experience. First of all, she told me to come back a week later and even handed me a slip of paper that said when the dress would be ready and when I came back she looked at me like I was crazy… She said the dress wouldn’t be ready for another week. I gave her the benefit of the doubt but when I came back a week later I still had to wait about an hour and then my dress was hemmed entirely too short. For the record I had brought the shoes that I had planned to wear with the dress to the initial try on and the same shoes back when I tried on the final product. The lining also stuck out from under the dress like it had not been hemmed along with the outer layer. I took my dress, paid entirely too much for bad work in my opinion, and ran… I did not wanna spend anymore time in her store.

Chelsea Stewart: I'm waiting on a call back I would love to share photos... my pants are ruined I had a $400 silk pants the hem came loose on the bottom because I had tripped and instead of just making a simple straight line where the Hem was undone on these orange pants, she used bright white thread and sew them in so many different directions there's like three lines where they used to be just one straight line and it was only 20% of the Hem undone, I am just so unhappy because you can't undo the lines where she sewed because it is silk.She ended the sew line diagonally all the way at the bottom, it's just not back stitched...Its going to come undone again, and it was $16 for 20% of the Hem and it took her 5 minutes to do...and the money isn't the issue, I did a lot of research to get these done and I don't like to leave poor reviews even if it was decently done.. I wouldn't leave a review at all but I am really, really upset and I don't want to go back to get them fixed because I don't want my clothes ruined.I'm not saying she doesn't do an excellent job on other alterations but if I have such a bad experience I feelit is my responsibility to let people know of my experience so they can make a more informed decision before they get their clothing alteredService:Pants alterations

Gabrielle Butler: I went there to get a teddy coat taken down a size. As soon as I walked in everyone was behind a wall with a window. No one greeted me and no one got up until I said hello? Then a lady comes and asks what did I need. I explained what I needed and she instantly said no we can’t do that. I can only help with the sleeves. And that it wouldn’t be possible for them to do what I asked. I left and went to Willard’s Tailor shop in Fairview heights who immediately took me in and will be working on my coat! I think they were lazy and inhospitable.

After over-explaining why that was their policy it became clear that if you have have to do all that explaining it’s not a me issue, it’s a business issue. I DONT RECOMMEND.

June Bug: The location of this place was right on Lindbergh and really easy to navigate. The parking lot was a bit small but fit enough cars and enough space tmaneuver. when I called for an estimate they had me come as soon as possible to see if they could fit within my own schedule. It was a tight turn around and I got my suit back as soon as possible which was amazing. I had the waist of my pants hemmed. They were perfectly hemmed into the seam of the pants and there was a belt loop perfectly aligned with the seam which was a very nice touch. My jacket had really long arms that needed to be hemmed and they now fit perfectly with my arms. They fit right around my thumbs/wrist so that I can have a big range of movement and look great. Whenever I got to them, I was helped with nearly immediately and they were very quick with measuring me. Went to Anthony's expecting them to say there's no way they could do it in time, but instead they were so nice and friendly and said they would absolutely get it done. Sam was amazingly kind, and the lady at the front desk (i think her name is Gloria) was also very friendly and helpful. It was even busy when I visited, and they managed all customers with timeliness and professionalism. After the fitting, my dress was done in two weeks and looks AMAZING. When they get snagged they rip on the side of the pants by the pocket. It is very annoying. Additionally, I had have some of my pants taken in and adjusted due to weight loss and gain. He was impossible to understand, I took the courtesy of driving down to the shop to try a little harder. Mia Meyer: We will never go anywhere else for our tailoring and alteration needs after our experience with Noor! I had a bridesmaid dress for a wedding next weekend that was made to order based on an online measurements chart. When the dress arrived, it was at least two sizes smaller than anticipated. There was at least 4 inches that needed to be added for the dress to zip. We had gone to several nearby tailors, all telling us that altering the zipper/back of the dress was far too complex and would take months to complete. Just as I was about to give up, I decided to call one last place—Expert Alterations and Tuxedos. Noor told me over the phone to come in right away and he would see whether or not he could help. As soon as I tried the dress on, Noor was immediately brainstorming various ways to help and told me it would be ready to try on within 1 week! When I returned a week later, the dress zipped! Because the dress had two linings that were very closely matched to the color of the dress, Noor had taken fabric from one of the linings to add side panels and raised the waist line to cover the stitching, letting out the dress and hemming it at the same time. Could not recommend this business enough.

Noor welcomed my questions as to how he would alter the pieces I took to his shop. I have to say that I am thrilled with his work. In addition, his prices are reasonable, his shop is beautiful and spotless and he will work with you as to your needed completion date. BE SURE to give him enough time to complete your project, he is a busy man! I plan to return with an evening Oscar De La Renta evening suit, two Escada suits and other items. I fully trust him with irreplaceable clothing items. If I could give him more than 5 stars, I would!

Amish Mustafa Khan: Craftsmanship:I brought in a linen/cotton summer shirt to be hemmed at the bottom. Regarding the quality of Ms. Simpson's work, I noted two areas for improvement:1. The stitching was not locked on one end. When a stitch is not locked correctly on one end, it can unravel completely.2. The shirt puckers significantly where it was hemmed. This often happens when working with stretch fabrics. However, I brought in a shirt with little to no stretch. I was surprised to see the puckering!For $28, I believe you can find better craftsmanship and value elsewhere.Business Practices:Ms. Simpson has a strict payment policy, which I was unaware of:1. Payment must be made prior to initiation of services2. If invoice is not paid within 7 business days of scheduled pick-up date there is an additional $60 up-chargeMy scheduled pick-up date was for May 2nd. I went to go pick-up my item and make payment on May 3rd. There was a sign informing me that Ms. Simpson was to be out of office May 3 - 10 (something I had not been informed of previously). When my wife returned on May 11 to pick up the shirt on my behalf, Ms. Simpson refused to relinquish the shirt and demanded $60 up-charge. Rather than acknowledging the mutual miscommunication, Ms. Simpson became angry and unprofessional.

Victoria Phillips: As the saying goes, "You never get a 2nd chance to make a first impression". Came in to check out the business. I've never had any alterations done by anyone outside of family friends so this was a new experience for me. Lets just say the welcome I received made me feel as if my garment was too dirty and wrinkled. I literally brought in a dress that I tried on once and put back in the shipping bag. Now I had no problem coming back for a formal appointment or removing pet hair which unfortunately the dress had collected the one time it was out of the shipping bag (I understand people have allergies. Unfortunately some fabrics attract pet hair more than others) but it was the way it was said to me especially when I wasn't there to get services I just wanted check out the shop. I get it when I am not in my work clothes I look a lot younger and not like a doctor but the statement was so off-putting as if to insinuate that my dress and I were out of place. Again sometimes its not what you say but how you say it. I felt so uncomfortable I got in the car and called another business that took my dress same day same condition with no issues. As a young black professional I love to spend my money with black businesses so I hated to have this experience.
