Missouri Athletic Club: what do users think?
B Abs: Stay for the historical nature and beauty of the hotel not the room quality. Elegant hotel lobby, restaurant and event areas. Dress code for the restaurant which felt appropriate for the decor. The room I had was small and outdated. All the staff was fantastic. Security to the building was tight.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Great value …More
William Hu: Very nice hotel
Jamie Haruska: This was a great boutique hotel! We were cautiously optimistic, given the cost was so affordable for such a great location in the city, but it was an awesome space. We explored some of the hotel and it was beautiful. Our room was nice and clean, although worn (duh, the hotel was built in 1915). Highly recommended this hotel if you are looking to walk around the city, just a block from the Arch park and less than a mile to all other places.
pedro fernandez: Hotel antiguo, pero cómodo.El parking caro.
Scolly: Ideal for the price and overnightRooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Brandi Stoddard: Lots of history here. A bit of road noise we where on 9 th floor.Has parking garage very friendly staff restaurants in walking distance that we are ate where sugar fire bbq and aubergines. There is a step up to bathrooms since they where added later. Don’t forget collared shirt to go to restaurant that is with in the hotel.
Tina Rubio: Only downfall was restraunt had dress code & wouldn't allow us to eat thereRooms: Out dated but comfortableWalkability: Very local and easy access to downtown
Sarah Shaffer: Old style charm with dress restrictions in bar & restaurant areas. Clean, secured and tasteful which is hard to find in most places. A time of the past but worth enjoying currently. Military personnel honored.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Brett Benyo: Awesome athletic club for exercising and social events.
Jack Michael: Arrived at around 2pm to be told the room wasn't available until 4pm. Personally this is far too late for a check in. We had driven down from Chicago and needed to get into the room to change and shower for dinner before catching a cardinals game at 6pm and we had to rearrange some of our plans because of this. The location is fantastic, it's a very short walk to the arch and busch stadium. This and the nice lobby is probably the only good parts of the hotel. Parking isn't included its $18 a day, considering the room itself is on the higher end this is greatly disappointing. The room was very small, no fridge, tiny bathroom which the plug to the sink didn't work. Also no breakfast included and there's a dress code in the lobby which considering it's an ''athletic club'' is a bit ironic. Overall pretty poor experience, check in time is enough for me to not return let alone the poor room. Location only thing keeping it from a 2 star review.
Cheryl Wambach: Beautiful buildingService: 5/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Donna White: Nephew had his wedding here. Tremendously attentive servers. Quick to respond and always checking on us. Beautiful dining room. Something we would never be able to afford on a regular day, but a very fun experience.Walkability: Not for those of us that have trouble standing and walking. I made it, but it was difficult.Food & drinks: The food was amazing. Tender and delicious. So so good. The bartender wasn't as nice or helpful. After asking what drinks she had, she said everything. They were premixing drinks to serve more people. I get it. She pointed to one she had just made and I asked what was in it, to which she replied everything and went back to mixing drinks. I told her i can't do mango or peach flavor. I grabbed one of the drinks, because I didn't want to hold up the line further. Took a drink, it had peach schnapps, and I immediately felt nauseous. That continued thru the rest of the night, so I had one ship sip of an open bar. But the rest was amazing!!
Nicholas Clarke: Recently stayed in the hotel whilst the Cards were on a home stand. Hotel is in a decent location downtown and less than 5 mins walk from the metro station. Room was large and clean, albeit dated. Receptionists were friendly. Hotel is dated, served a purpose for a 1 night stayRooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Joseph Gilligan: Awesome facility
Kyle Rawling: Location is convenient - the stadium, Arch and park, and restaurants are a manageable walk. Staff is super helpful and informative. The lobby is beautiful as well. Rooms, especially bathrooms could be updated and soundproofed a bit more, but it wasn’t unreasonable.

Saint Louis Boxing Club: what do users think?
TG: Great gym. The classes are coed with 60-70% women and 30-40% men with a variety of ages. The first boxing class I went to, I assumed that it was going to be almoat entirely women, but it wasn't. There were a decent amount of men. I've tried 2 classes so far and 1 was intense and the other was mild. But the instructors don't yell at you if you take a rest or don't do all the reps. The Boxing class was also tougher because the instructor didnt explain or demonstrate the punch combinations, but the kickboxing instructor did. The only negative is that the free trial is technically not a free trial. You have to buy hand wraps that protect your hands and wrist. The cost was a $11. In other words, the free trial actually costs $11. It may costs slightly more in the future because there was an 11% discount. Overall though I plan on becoming a member. I recommend this gym.
Oniel Polanco: This is a one fantastic place, the trainers the staff members the class and the energy, Place is clean and well organized, the glass is worth every penny of it
Darcy Smith: Trainers are excellent; very motivating. club is spotless and well equipped. I'm 64 and feel very respected. To them, age is just a number. Great club!
Erik Edmonds: I love this place. Tons of bags and lots of different classes. Love the breakdown of warmup, cardio and ab work.
Christine Edwards: Every class I’ve tried has been a great workout. This is the one type of workout, for me, that truly gets all the stress out of my system and tires me out, that’s a good thing! I love that unlike other places, you don’t hear phrases like “pain is weakness leaving the body”, or “I know it hurts, but push through”. Instead they encourage you to make it your workout, not everyone is at the same level, and there is no feeling of shame for not being at the same level as others. The instructors walk through and give modifications constantly. If you need/want more intensity, or if you need a different type of modifications, just ask.
Cloaked: Clean, friendly, attentive
Angela Liebermann: Fun workouts! Always challenging.
JJ Lane: I never thought I needed a gym family until I stepped into St. Louis Boxing Club. During the pandemic, a group of women and I started taking their outdoor classes. It was challenging, but the best part of it was the coach, Bre. Her teaching style and confidence-building approach was unlike anything I've ever experienced. She made class difficult but doable, never yelling but always encouraging. Once I signed up to join, I immediately fell in love with the family atmosphere of this gym. The coaches are unique and amazing in their own ways. They are the most inclusive, accepting, and welcoming place. Not only are the classes adjustable to your fitness level, but they keep you wanting more. Now that I've been a member for nearly 2 years, I can honestly say that it's been the most transformative gym I've ever belonged to. Join NOW, you won't regret it!
brittney williams: Saint Louis Boxing Club has been great. I put off joining for years and man do I feel like I missed out! So welcoming and every class is a great workout!
Jaffet Ayala: I first started coming to this gym in 2019 and I will be there till the day they close or I can't box, the energy is unmatched and the trainers and staff are all super friendly, knowledgeable, and excited to answer any questions one may have, This gym started me on my health journey and has been a constant ever since, if you're looking for a gym to try no matter what experience level I recommend STLBC to everyone!!!!
William Vallellanes: Love this place. The workouts, the community, the trainers are all amazing! Go in and unload all your negatives on those bags!
Michael Lee: There’s plenty of space, especially during the 5pm classes.
Judy Tyler: As a “newbie” to boxing I thought that I would feel very out of place. That was not the case at all….upon arrival every morning Rita and Leslie and sometimes the instructors are always very welcoming and helpful! Rita and Leslie assist in helping me wrap my hands (daily)😊 The classes go very quickly and Heather always has great music!“ Boxing is for everyone”, is what they say😊Give StL Boxing Club a try, I’m sure you’ll like it😊
Catherine Killeen: I absolutely loved my experience at Saint Louis Boxing Club! I took one of the 45 minute classes, with a quick warm up, 8 rounds of boxing and active recovery, and 7 minutes of ab exercises at the end.As someone with 5 years of boxing experience, I found the trainer to be knowledgeable, and the class to be both challenging and fun. The best work out I’ve had in a long time!
Nick Jones: The classes are great and versatile amongst instructors! I also love how the staff takes the time to connect with each and every member. On my second day it was like I had been a member for years.
Dale McNaughton: Absolutely love working out here!
Emily Struckhoff: What a gem! Amazing people + an amazing workout = MAGIC. You will hurt and then want more.
Andrew Evola: Awesome place. Great staff. Great workout.
Luis M. Parra Rodríguez: This is an outstanding boxing gym. Knowledgeable trainers, super friendly environment, great equipment, and kickass classes! 100% Recommended.
Marsha Mahan: Excellent place to work out. Friendly & motivating trainers/instrctors. Clients are also fabulous. EVERYONE will push & motivate you!
Richard McNelley: This is one of my happy places. The coaches and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. And you get a stellar workout with friendly and motivated members.

Genesis Health Clubs - Ballpark Village: what do users think?
Marco: Clean and spacious gym with knowledgeable trainers, modern amenities and state of the art equipment. Plan accordingly during busy BPV event days.
Micah C: This gym would have been a great fit for me if I was not pressured to sign up for a Membership from The time I walked in , I was told I was required to take a tour of the facility in order to work out with my friend as a guest . They also told me if I did not sign up that day it would be a 200$ fee to sign up which has never been true . This really disappointed me because the gym itself sells customers . I already wanted a membership the minute I walked in but he definitely talked me out of it by trying to force something that was already going to happen . Huge red flag . Staffing needs an upgraded . Breathe taking facility.
Ryan Zapko: Just a genuinely great gym. I'm from out of town and stopped in for a workout ($25), so I cannot speak to the membership cost and experience but everything else is very high quality. Gym is very spacious, has fantastic equipment with an open and airy layout. Locker rooms maintain the high level of cleanliness and open space that the gym excels in. Can't wait to return.
Rowan Nelson III: After 4 months, I am withdrawing my membership. The management here is absolutely garbage. I was just completely lied to several times by the managemebt of this facility! The fact that I couldn't get into the parking lot or out just to work out the ENTIRE time I've been a member is INSANE! For some reason there is a disconnect from corporate to the management here. None of them have the tools to succeed nor the training. This is club is not to Genesis standards in any way!
Chasen Johnson: In from out of town and they wanted to charge additional fees to use the gym. Genesis continues to be a dishonest and exploitative organization. There are cheaper options that can do the same thing for you without the headache.
Bryan Vickers: Clean, centrally located, convenient, and well-staffed. Top notch facility!
Tara Luhning: Best gym in St Louis. Genesis is never overly crowded, always clean, great machine options, and has beautiful studios. I don’t have a single complaint, where else could you get your cardio in while looking out onto Ballpark Village. 20/10 would recommend to everyone no matter your fitness goals.
Sumvrudhi Chariyamane: The staff is always so friendly and the workout spaces are very clean
Yigit Akduman: Solid gym great staff
Mark Ryan: Nice
Jakob Osterberg: Been going here for around a year. Great equipment, great personal trainers (Kramer’s so handsome!!!) and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend training here.
Brandon Segelhorst: Gym is great
Johnny White: Shout out to Nicole and the management staff. Thanks the club and always clean and spotless... I enjoy working out there and enjoy the welcoming feeling.
georden miller: Staff is great gym is always clean and never messy always cleans towels
Jason K: I’ve been coming here for years and it’s always a nice experience. Everything is always stocked and the bathrooms/lockers are always cleaned. Nice staff too
Edwin Moore: Very clean gym .people are very kind i came in from Florida for Business stay at Hilton hotel came here for leg work out the lady that check me in was very professional and kind .
Dakota Hylton: Great place
Dana Garcia: ZERO STARS for management. The facilities here are great top notch, and if you can check it out when traveling or get a deal, great; But fair warning, DO NOT enter into a contract here! The management is ridiculous. I'm a former employee, I used to work here when it was under a different company and continued to work for a bit when it became Genesis. I left on good terms. However, months later I am now being charged for a membership for which I have no signed contract with them and the GM Jalen is insisting I come in person to sign a cancellation for this membership. My husband had worked out here for months after my employment and he signed paperwork to cancel his membership months ago simply because we couldn't afford it anymore. They told him to his face that his membership was cancelled. Jalen is now telling us that the membership has been in my name the entire time (since I was the employee there) and that he actually has no paper trail of my husband signing a cancellation. My employee membership was a benefit to my employment and NOT a contract yet they are charging me as if it was and insisting I come in to cancel it. They have not shown evidence of the 'contract' membership they say I have. I have had multiple conversations with Jalen detailing the errors of this and have made no progress. I am trying to get my money back from the past few months (since the time my husband signed a cancellation). Getting ahold of anyone at the corporate level in this company is impossible, none of them have direct phone numbers listed and the VP of sales will not respond to my emails or calls (and I've been persistent for a couple weeks now, it's not like it's been one day). And I'm a former employee who left in good faith! And they are charging my credit card monthly. Without a contract. Don't give them your card.
Anastasia Aarons: Great gym and the best personal training experiences around! It’s very well kept, clean, spacious, and has the best staff. It’s in a prime location and has a great view when the Cardinals are playing.
ML: Excellent facility! Outstanding management and staff. World-class equipment with superb amenities!
Brandon Vazquez: Best gym in St. Louis! Very friendly staff and the sauna is the best after a good pump!

Mov in the Lou: what do users think?
Sarah: I'm here for a 6 week challenge (to start) and all the staff is nice, the facilities are clean, and I like my trainer and nutrition coach.
Rebecca Currie: I’m so happy I found this gym! Everyone is so nice and welcoming at the STL location (MOV in the Lou). Gloria made me feel right at home as soon as I walked in for my tour, so I joined right there on the spot :) I’ve been a member for a few months now, and have not regretted that decision once. The gym has all the equipment you need, the bathrooms/showers are clean, and the 24-hour access is incredible. It looks small on the outside, but the inside is pretty big—I’ve never felt like I’ve been right on top of anyone while working out. There’s always plenty of parking and it’s never too busy regardless of what time I go. I used to be so bad about being consistent with my workouts, but I love the staff so much that I’m excited to go in. The manager, Allison, is the sweetest and even wrote me a hotel workout plan that I was able to follow while I was out of town. Matt is the best trainer and so fun to workout with. Can’t say enough good things about this place =D
Laura Tromben: EXCEPTIONALLY RUDE DESK PERSON. I got an invoice after having cancelled my account a year or so ago out of the blue and called to clear it up only to be handled by a person who’s customer service was atrocious and aggressive.Don’t give your personal information to these scammers
T. Purnell: Some staff WILL HARASS YOU!!! N.J.First like to say that MOST of these reviews are fabricated. 4.4 star gym would be a gym that has water you can get that’s NOT FROM THE BATHROOM SINK. Yes. You must drink out of the bathroom sink if you run out of water.“We are a private gym so we can’t buy a water fountain.” Equipment is falling about. Weight played aren’t even. Some plates are pealing off and benches have wear and tear. Definitely go to club fitness for a better gym experience.
Marlon Muñoz: I want to know if only with a card I can pay, can it be in cash I want to know if only with a card I can pay, can it be in cash
mario mazzola: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
Craig Moore: Clean beautiful woman
Jimmy Conway: Nice, clean facility with all the work out equipment and physical trainers you'll ever need
Wesley Petty: Positive:Professionalism,QualityLove this place. The staff is amazing and super friendly. Great atmosphere!
Angel Vanfleet: St. Louis Fitness Club is an awesome place to come to lose any weight on the body. A very welcoming staff. The place is very nice and very clean . The staff is worth talking with and very professional about their job and no matter what what kind of mood people are in , you will leave from the gym happy, joyous, and free. So come and join our family.
Katie Farrar: I’ve been a member of the gym for five years and in personal training with Matt Tinker for 4 years and I often feel like it’s the only thing keeping me sane. If you want to put headphones in and do your thing, no one will bother you. If you want to engage with others, you’ll find a very welcoming community of regulars. The gym has done a great job during COVID - very strict with masks, disinfectant out the wazoo, temperature checks, lots of spacing. The staff and trainers are all great and willing to help if you want it. As a woman, I’ve never felt creeped out or uncomfortable in the weights area. I’m very, very happy with the community I’m a part of with St. Louis Fitness Club and would highly recommend to anyone else.
Zack Blakeley: A fantastic gym with options for everywhere at a great price point! What more could you ask for?
Paul Gibson: This place has everything I need. My trainer is the best around, and has helped to transform my body. Also - Given the state of the world during this pandemic, I can say the staff and the members make every effort to keep things clean and safe for everyone.
Jordan Rhees: My experience with St. Louis Fitness Club has been nothing but exceptional! I train about 4-5 times a week and find the consistent positive trainers, awesome music and participants who take class create a perfect workout environment. Their trainers are exceptional, the overall vibe is great and I have had nothing but good experiences. I definitely recommend them to anyone regardless of experience level.
R B: My partner and I have been going to this gym for about two years and it's been great. Very clean, the staff are knowledgeable and kind, along with plenty of machines and equipment to use(while socially distanced). Seriously, a great spot to workout at.
Peggy Sannes: I have been a member of this gym for over four years and I absolutely love it! It has that 'Cheers' feel where everybody knows your name. The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable and the trainers are second to none! i had the privilege of working with Matt Tinker a few years ago, but would recommend any one of them! This gym has everything you're looking for with a variety of classes for all ages and abilities taught by caring and highly trained trainers. These people genuinely care about you and want you to succeed wherever you're at in your program.
Olantriz Kira E: Critical:Communication,Professionalism,QualityI canceled membership for over a year. I was still being charged. They have just now canceled my membership, but refuse to reimburse over a year of membership. I relocated over a year ago! Extremely disappointed.
Timothy Holmes: Incredible and awesome gym services. The trainers are great and the other members are truly amazing.
Sea Merchant 46: They have good machines, the staff was very friendly. If it wasn't so crowded all the time I would have given 5 stars.
Malik Luckett: I love St Louis fitness club is working out getting healthy and staying strong 💪🏾

The Boxing Gym: what do users think?
Delaney Alyse: Been a member for a year now and honestly best health I have ever been in, I give credit to the boxing gym. I went to one class because I heard about kickboxing before, and I am so glad this was the gym I walked in to. Every trainer I work with obviously loves working there, and every member loves being a part of it. They meet you where you're at; you can go as hard as you want during class & learn technique, or just use it as a cardio session. At the end of class, I usually can't wait for my next one. I highly recommend Nicki, Jim & Trent, but honestly have loved classes with everyone.
Kendall Burks: Couldn’t ask for a better gym experience. The workouts are fun and challenging with lots of variety in the class offerings. The trainers are encouraging, motivating, and safety-conscious (super important, especially when it comes to weightlifting). As an added bonus, there are two adorable and friendly dogs always looking for pets after class is over. Coming to this gym has been extremely important for my mental and physical health for several years now, and I can’t recommend this place enough.
Ruby Robinson: I’ve been a loyal member since moving to the STL area about four years ago and I refuse to find a different gym. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable, and patient. Every class is challenging and fun. They are always willing to answer any fitness question and assist you with your health journey, if needed. There are a variety of classes from basic to intermediate/advanced boxing, and strength training. All fitness levels are welcome.
Sarah S: Editing to say that I LOVE the Boxing Gym. I've been going to The Boxing Gym since 2017. The variety of classes and instructors, at different times of day, means I can get the workout I need even when I have a busy schedule. Each instructor has different music and a different style so I can change it up anytime! The bootcamps are especially challenging, and I love that I can modify them however I need if my knees are sore that day. They’ve added a lot of weightlifting and cardio classes without boxing, including on Sundays. The instructors have all been around for YEARS so it feels like a family welcoming me whenever I go. I switch around between classes with Stephanie, Jim, or Trent, and I recently went to a class with Karen and had a great workout! The owner Jim has two adorable dogs who hang out all the time, and they love getting pet. They’re literally the sweetest most gentle pups, so it’s so relaxing to visit the gym. It's conveniently located next to Schnucks so I often go to the store afterward. I LOVE this gym and the instructors, and they keep people coming back for years!
shanta towns: Whoever BOI is a Asian man is extremely rude ! I walked in to sign up for a few classes and the owners dog charged at me while growling and barking. Boi told me if I don’t like dogs I shouldn’t come there & he had a snappy attitude like this isn’t a place is business and I’m sure it’s not professional to have dogs in a business no matter who’s dogs they are. So if you don’t wanna get bite or attacked find another gym.
Maria Woodson: I did the 7 day pass and loved it! Now I have a membership for 10 sessions a month. Very friendly staff and great workout! Great location right around the corner from my job. I even go on my lunch break for a quick workout!
Jessi Hatfield: The best gym! When they say boxing is for everyone they mean it. As a wheelchair user, everyone has been helpful and friendly. I have been a member for 2 years. The classes are challenging and fun. The instructors are helpful and knowledgeable!
Damon Martin: 1st class went very well. Friendly atmosphere. Let you work at your own pace to get use to combinations. Great staff
Jeffrey Halverson: Jim gives me a good workout once a week. The wife wants me to go three times a week. I may get there.
Malik Luckett: I love the boxing gym it's hard work and I enjoy it then fighting skills💪🏾
Mudd Bone: The boxing gym has a great learning environment for all skill levels. The staff is very envolved and the make learning fun.
Ace MEECHII: Positive:Quality
Joshua Geller: Trained here for a few months during an internship in the city a couple years back. Amazing experience, phenomenal Muay Thai coaching, and a terrific workout. I wasn’t personally seeking to compete, but they trained me with the seriousness and discipline as if I were. The owner is also fantastic. Wish I could have stayed longer. Highly recommend.
Hunter Schaff: Love Jim and Trenton’s classes! I always leave happy I got a workout!!
Paul Oberle: It's the one of the best boxing gyms in St Louis. Oscar is a great instructor as are all the other people there.
Heidi Lynn: Positive:QualityGreat classes. Knowledgeable instructors. Small gym where it’s easy to get individual instruction whenever needed. Been a member for over ten years. Basically my home away from home.
Mukhtar Abdi: Their place is disgusting and there's every one swet boxers on the floor
A McQ: A great gym that will get you in great shape, the staff are very friendly and the trainers are great and will work with you. Would highly recommend to anyone from beginners to those already in shape who are looking to get a super intense workout and pick up some boxing skills.
Michael Bell: TBG is the most welcoming non- judgemental gym around. Clean and safe! Jim and David are the best and everyone that works there such as the trainers are the best in the industry.
Jon Brown: Love these guys. Always a great work out.
Liz Pulliam: Instructors are encouraging, knowledgeable, and fun. The workouts are hard but time flies quickly, and you feel great afterwards!!

STL Fencing Club: what do users think?
Xena Colby: I love STL Fencing Club! I didn't know anything about fencing before signing up with my friend. Everyone has been so welcoming & the training is really fun! I've learned so much and I'm looking forward to learning more from these talented athletes! :)
Citrus Dennis: Amazing club with a welcoming atmosphere and a friendly community of Fencers of all skill levels! I was able to go from zero experience to participating in bouts within a month thanks to stellar coaching. A++
Corey J: Had the pleasure of learning to fence here last weekend and it was a blast. The atmosphere of this place is electric - and I gained a newfound respect for the sport! Way more physically demanding than I anticipated. Can’t wait to come back!
Amber Stefanski: Thanks for hosting our group at your club tonight, Tran! So much fun!
Sarah Flood: This place is phenomenal! We had so much fun learning to fence. The environment is fun, the space is inclusive, the aesthetic is very cool and it felt like a community most would be excited to be a part of. We got lots of great instruction as well. Can’t wait to go back!
Josh Potter: Great coaches and welcoming atmosphere!
David Wickman: I’m the president of the SIUE fencing club. We just hosted a tournament at this place, and it went super well. Lots of well maintained, professional strips. Tran, the owner, is amazing at what he does. The coaches there are really good too. If you wish to train there, 10/10 would recommend.
Alana Golden: Awesome place to fence, enjoyed every second!
Julian Anderson: Hands down the best club to go to in the St. Louis area. Tran gives great, detailed lessons
Joseph Hartman: Good coach
Thomas Begush-Cook: Great instructors and good variety of students - makes for a wonderful and fun class experience.
Luke Paule: I joined this club on a whim after never fencing before in my life, and it has easily become my favorite hobby. I'm always looking forward to the next class and learning new techniques and improving as much as I can. The coaches are all incredibly knowledgeable, respectful, and skilled.Highly recommend STL Fencing Club👌
Paul Vaughan: Phenomenal club - Conveniently located, incredible amenities, and truly personalized experience. The Coach, Abram, is very friendly and knowledgeable. There are 4 working strips in the club, and the club devotes certain times to every weapon. Full size kitchen, filtered water and various other refreshments are provided. Armory services second to none. Can't say enough nice things about STL Fencing Club, keep up the great work!
Amy Smith: My kid is new to the sport and absolutely feels very welcomed here. The coaches are amazing and the other fencers are very friendly and are eager to help eachother out with learning new/different things.Very positive environment in all.The coaches are also out there with thier students at tournaments competing at times. After a week my kid said this is where they belong.
Aimee Rich: My son (who is 11) takes fencing classes with Tran and Abram and really enjoys it. It’s a great atmosphere that offers a balanced combination of technique and practice. The coaches are very supportive and encouraging.
ilia katritch: I used to fence but stopped for many years, came here on a whim and rediscovered my love of fencing. The people here are all amazingly friendly, there's plenty of people from all skill levels and ages to fence with, and an atmosphere of collaboration, with everyone willing to give advice and to learn together. Definitely a place I'd recommend to anyone, whether you're a beginner or a long-time fencer.
Logan Massena: Beginner course is great to take! I learned a lot from Coach Tran and Coach Abram. Both is excellent coach and I felt at home with my deafness disability! I look forward to fencing here for hopefully a long time.
Ana van Bosse: What a wonderful find! Great dedicated staff that really cares about their students. They often give pointers and address issues one on one. It is overall a very nice atmosphere.
Krystal Stevenson: Fencing is a great sport that combines movement with strategic thinking and I love it! The teachers here are top notch. They are inclusive to all ages, body types, and ability levels. You will feel welcomed and safe to be yourself. If you don't have equipment that's okay, the place is stocked on a variety of sizes and gear and Tran will even order your size if there isn't one. This team is amazing at teaching. Tran is excellent with technicality and precision while Abram excels at strategy and speed. Their group classes are a wonderful workout and the environment is supportive and non judgemental. I love seeing and working with all ages and range of abilities.
Eva Kappas: I came here to watch my little brother fence and I ended up fencing myself! Tran invited me to try fencing because I was there, and taught me individually the basics of fencing, how to hold the sword and different moves, in 30 minutes to get me caught up with the beginner class. Then I got to fence other students, including my brother :)))The teachers here are fantastic. They notice when students perform a move well and identify when there's a skill they should work on and address the students individually. The teachers will pause a match to teach something and let the student practice a move on them before continuing the match. If you wanted to try fencing ever, STL Fencing makes it easy to start. Tran and the other instructors make fencing accessible and fun. This place is inclusive, knowledgable, organized, and friendly.
Sonny Saggar: I started fencing here with my 14 year old son, both of us absolute beginners. We loved it. The teaching, the sparring, the other people at the club (interestingly many other 1 parent + 1 child duos) was simply the best. Tran is an excellent and patient instructor. The equipment is clean. It really works up a sweat, and an appetite, making for a pleasant drive home back to Wildwood, all the while both of us talking about it. Highly recommended if you want to start something new, something noble and respected in many cultures worldwide. Tran also helped me modify because of my sciatica and piriformis - ugh - thanks Tran!
