Was in and out within less than 20 minutes. Definitely recommended if you're running late on a Saturday even though it's in the heart of the City.

Reid Krueger: Things seemed to be going well, but then... I connected with RIMCO several weeks ago in search of a metal recycler in the STL area that would be responsive and communicate some level of detail about the metal we sent to them. They got a lugger box on site quickly and talked about additional containers on site to accumulate material in for an ongoing program. We filled the container with thousands of pounds of small parts, steel mostly, but other metals in there too, ballasts, smaller amounts of aluminum and copper, etc. After they picked up the box, it was the same story as the other companies I've used locally. I had to chase down payment for a few weeks, getting no reply to my efforts for days. Then the check finally came. I'm certain it's not the amount we should have been paid, but more importantly the description of materials we sent is simply listed as "Sheet iron". I've asked for clarification and a review, I was told they would find out why that description was given and get back to me. Over a week and I can't get anyone to respond. Same garbage I've dealt with at 3 or 4 other recyclers in town. I'll try someone else next time and keep tryin. I won;t use RIMCO again or give them any positive word of mouth.

Shriek: So if I could give him a zero I would went there on January 16th of 2023 not only did I get get jipped out of not getting paid for my scrap but but the workers were just rude disrespectful called me money hungry mocks me and wanted to fight me all because I was upset about not getting paid for my scrap would not recommend this scrap yard to anybody unless you want to get ripped off

Vance Shearer: My visiting to top metals was almost criminal was what they offered I've even scrapped trucks whole vehicles full size truck weighing 8,000 lb they pay me less than a ton which is 2,000 lb so for the average price of scrap metal which is the same usually whenever you go they cheat you out my weight and $200 a ton and you have something to weigh 7,000 lb that's three and a half tons should be $600 no they give you $162 I don't suggest anyone going there there's other places around Wood River

Steve Thorpe: Thieves they distract you while unloading won’t show you the scale that reads 10 percent light( exactly on 6 different containers). When he found out I had pre weighed and wrote lbs on each container with magic marker he found 97 lbs of the missing copper. He then offered me cash for that and made sure I realized he had a copy of my drivers license. After that I left feeling threatened and only paid for 90 percent of my metal.
John Doe: They definitely cheat you at this place. I wasn't satisfied when I went there and everyone I know that went there felt cheated.
Michael Ddd: I went in with 15 lbs of crushed cans, and 18 lbs of mixed brass. I figured they were paying the most, thats where Id go. They paid me for 9 lbs of brass and 8 lbs of crushed cans. I asked why, the scale guy said, "Oh well, that sucks, its too late now" as he rushed by me to the breakroom. I would only recommend them if you REALLY WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF !!!

Tom Evans: I deal with a lot of scrap yards at various times.However Ace is the friendliest and easy to deal with scrap yard I've ever dealt with.The owner is a wonderful lady and needs to be applauded for the job she does.They run on a skeleton crew but yet I have no problem getting in and out of there easily and quickly.Very helpful unloading my truck.I give ACE metal and Miss Denise five stars.Thank you!!!

Nicholas Cook: The employees were nice but they pay way under what everyone else does. .40 a pound for cans when everywhere around is .60+. They pay .05/lb for scrap steel, did the math and the basically stole $40 and acted suprised when i called them out on it and still claimed they pay the best when i know thats a lie. Only thing they payed somewhat accurate to everyone else was the copper. 1/10 if you want nice people come here, if you want what your scrap is worth go somewhere else.
Amanda Lemonds: Don’t worry if you only have a small amount of metal, a bunch of appliances, or if you’re uncertain what metal type you have. The Saturday hours are very convenient for weekend home projects, and Ace’s friendly staff offers fair prices!

Crazi LBE: Called ace scrap at 10:30 on april 13th 2020 the lady in the office quoted me $1.70 for my scrap we got ther not only did they short us on the weight of the scrap they put our scrap in with theirs b4 giving us a weight limit as far how many pounds we had. (which was well over 800 pounds) they wouldn’t calculate up our total in front of us told the guy on the dock accepting the copper in couldn’t add so the lady in the front had to do it for him and remember when I said she quoted us 1.70 for the copper ..... then she tried to give us 1.35 and if we wouldn’t have caught it we would have been out of more money from them. They shorted us and said we only had 400 pounds which was totally incorrect and when we told her that that wasn’t reasonable she stated there’s nothing she could do because it was already mixed in Which their copper so not only did they get us out of our correct weight of the copper they tried to short us on the copper amount after she quoted us a price over the phone this company is not where u want to scrap especially when Vince jacks is right up the street just a heads up (THIS COMPANY WILL TRY TO GET OVER ON U) definitely won’t look this direction ever again and seeing from their other bad reviews their probably gonna say they never serviced me b4 lol But it’s a lie lol post the receipt if I need to ....GO TO VINCE JACKS save your self a headace

Penny Closser: I have gone once to this place. They are extremely rude to people. I went into recycle cans so I went there that day. WORST mistake of my life. They have customers who purposely tell you the wrong place to go. Then when you tell them what's going on, they start treating you like you are a criminal and tell you that you are harassing customers. The daughter works for mom. Apparently she can't get a job anywhere else.... I can see why. If you have a problem with their service and call, they will deny any wrong doing..you have been warned not to do business with these idiots.

Gary Stein: Ace Scrap Metal is a highly reputable organization. There prices are fair and far better then any other scrap metal dealer I’ve visited. Additionally they are always willing to explain how they arrive at that quoted price if asked. I’ve tried several other dealers, and they just don’t measure up to these guys. I will never go anywhere else.

Rick Andrius: They advertise best rates around for scrap iron.And yet I get paid less taking any metals there, as compared to Southern Metal products or Scrapmart recycling in Fenton.I took 100s of pounds of beautiful clean aluminum trailer siding there, and they gave me the price of "Old sheet" aluminum for everything.Every other metal yard I go to would have given me a better price as, "Painted," aluminum.I took a similar load elsewhere the next day and got more than $300 for it instead of the 200 Wellston gave me.You might get a fair market rate for your metals here.I would watch very carefully, to make sure you get paid for everything you bring.

This place was open when literally no where else was; and they are open an hour later on a daily basis than the place we had normally been going to... Dyna Lone Rider: Closed during open hours listed on their website, drive was 45 minutes to get let down and not get paid. Apparently you can only scrap while regular joes at work because they aren't even open Saturdays anymore. I get home at 4pm and can only get here when I'm off early which is never. Used to be open until 4pm every day but also Saturdays until noon....but they changed their hours to 4:30 to toss a bone I guess....but they still close up shop. Some people have jobs, don't you want to make money just like everyone else? Apparently not, someone else will make money off my recycling I suppose. 0 Stars

I was told to "get the f×ck out of there and never come back today. For some reason I was suddenly a problem today but before things seemed to be ok the other times I was there. It is easier to fit smaller bags in my car which I mentioned then large but they didn't care. The sign sometimes seems to apply but not always. I was told how time is money and I put my car to shame.

I know what the barrels weight and it's no more than 10 to 12lbs. I saw the error and confronted the worker who tried to play dumb like he did nothing wrong . Always check you ticket and pay close attention to your weight. There is no telling how many time he and others have done this.

I weighed my stuff before going here and they were actually a pound better in my favor on a couple items over a hundred pounds. #2. I know exactly what I'm selling and they didn't try to lowball me at all. #3. They gave me much better prices then anyone else. #4. Great service. Tommy: If I could give it zero stars, I would. I took in over 120lbs of copper and about 5 or 6 of cat5 cable. I was rung up to 127lbs, got the ticket and they put the entire load of copper under "communication wire". I questioned them as to why and they said I had wire nuts still on some of the wire. I loaded this copper into the car myself, and I saw not even a handful of wire nuts. I've given them loads like this for years and a few measly wire nuts were never a problem.So if you don't like to get screwed out of money, I suggest going elsewhere.
laura poropat: Very friendly staff and so helpful. I was in the area helping a friend and had a truck load of cans and scrap to be turned in. The guys were so helpful in unloading my items. I have been to other facilities that make you unload your own product. I got in and out with no problems. Not being from the area I will definitely pass on this company’s name to anyone in need of recycling services.

So when you call for prices we have no idea what you have and can NOT quote you exact prices as aluminum have several types .WE DO NOT BUY STEEL OR IRON . You can throw it off to get recycled but we DO NOT PURCHASE THEM. You can always see the SCALES .
