Jo Newbold: Go drive by my warehouse on the corner of South Grand Boulevard and Cherokee and you will see why I gave them five stars. The roof was dilapidated and now it is beautiful. Anthony and his entire crew crew showed up to give a bid. It was pretty much what I expected to pay. What I did not expect was that they were finished in less than two weeks. They called me ahead of time and let me know they were coming out and sent pictures through each phase of the project. This was a 12000 square foot section of my warehouse and it is now absolutely beautiful. Jim Heffernan: We contracted with the Flat Roof Company (FRC) to repair our leaking commercial flat roof. They installed a completely new tapered system that changed the slope of the roof so that we no longer had standing water on the roof. We dealt with Anthony, and he was straight and direct and let me know of issues as they came up. We have a three-story building with a concrete decked roof on steel trusses.While FRC was performing the initial demolition portion of the roof, they discovered some structural issues that prevented them from properly repairing the roof. Anthony informed me that this was a rare occurance but that they would not be able to fix the roof until all structural issues were corrected. He said replacing the roof with the structural issues would cause severe problems in the future. Anthony then promply refunded me our deposit and told us to call him when the repairs were made, and he would do all he could to work us in his schedule to get the roof rescheduled as soon as possible.We had the structural repairs made, and Anthony rescheduled us within one week of my call. His guys worked Wednesday through Sunday evening to complete the roof and avoided forecasted storms in the next week.The job was completed at the originally agreed-upon price, and we will have a dry building for many years to come. patricia emmons: Guys, if you need any roofing/construction work done on your home, I cannot recommend this company enough! We have had our share of contractors not showing up on time, leaving a mess, saying they would be there at a certain time and showing up hours later, etc., etc. MLK was nothing but the consummate professional from the get go. They came out in a timely manner to give us our estimate; made suggestions on other work we could have done; worked with us, and our budget; went to the exact same paint store we used and matched our paint colors for the work they were doing; showed up exactly when they said they were going to; worked at least an eight hour day; cleaned up the work area at the end of every day; and we’re careful not to disturb my garden too much. The completed work is above our expectations and looks great! I have to mention that our house was built in 1865 and the work they completed was on a dormer on the third story, so NOT an easy task! They sent me at least 30 pictures in a google photo album before, during, and after that work. These guys are the real deal! Service:Roof repair

Shani Knight: We had a flat roof replaced as well as repair of extensive damaged wood under the roof. We shopped around a bit and found MLK to be the most reasonable in pricing. They provided a few options for types of roofing and were very clear about the possible extra expenses that might come up due to the extent of damage on our roof. They provided photos of before, during and after. The team was respectful of our property and cleaned up very well when they were done. I would absolutely recommend them for flat roof replacement.

Lorraine Gary: I compared bids from many roofing companies, and MLK was the only one that offered a bid I could believe in. The others were way too low, way too high, or being bid by someone unprofessional. The repairs were great. They sold me exactly what I needed, did great work, and didn't try to oversell with a bunch of useless extras. MLK offered many ways to communicate - phone, e-mail, docusign. They were responsive. I never had to hunt them down to get information. There were weather delays - like all outdoor jobs, - but they followed through with completing the work in as timely a manner as weather would allow. I did think the business was named after Martin Luther King Jr, admittedly - the man or the street. I really wanted to use a homegrown St. Louis business, and I thought MLK Roofing may have once been located on MLK - a nearby street - or even be named after MLK. Now, I figure those are the owners initials. Nonetheless, they are a local business. In fact, it is a family business, and I enjoyed talking to the matriarch whenever she would answer the phone. Richard Price: Without a doubt, one of the best home renovation decisions I have made in the past 30 years has been to use MLK Roofing and Construction for a new roof - and with improved venting.Matt and his team were superb from beginning to end. Matt Kettner (MLK) is personally involved and communicates all along the way from inquiry to bid to roof installation to wrap-up.The quality of work was simply the best - including improving past ridge venting, adding new vents, changing old out-dated vents to more up-to-date vents, and installing an attic exhaust van as requested. And, my 1915 built house has old house nuances that Matt and his team had the patience and skill to manage through as needed.The MLK roof installation team could not have been any better and the clean-up was amazingly good. Lindsey Stewart: The siding repair they did was great. My siding was getting pulled on in one spot by wind. In the most recent wind storm the siding stayed put, and the color matches. Only reason I gave 4 stars was because it took a while to get the job done, and by the time it was done, more siding pulled off which caused the project to cost 150 more than the original bid.

Roger Zucker: In June I discovered a leak and had someone come out for a look over and possible repair. The repair appeared simple according to them and came back later and finished the work. With the Monsoon level rain recently discovered the fix was not effective.Given everyone is busy now I was still able to get 3 different companies to evaluate and give quotes. they all found the actual issue which was not a glaring issue but on reflection tells me not to use a roofing company that cannot diagnose the basic issue.If I could get my money back I would but I agreed to the work whether it was correct or not.Service:Roof repair

D J: Spartan Roofing helped me out when I woke up on a Sunday morning and noticed I had water leaking from my livingroom ceiling due to high winds and rain tearing off a portion of my roof shingles. They were at my house within 2 hours to install an emergency roof tarp.They were also at my house to meet the insurance adjuster to explain all of the damage that had occurred and they worked with the adjuster and myself to come up with a full estimate for exterior and interior repairs.Spartan preformed all of the repair work including a new roof, replacement of damaged attic insulation, replacement of damaged drywall ceiling and painting of the livingroom.I recommend Spartan to anyone that has any type of roofing issues.

Rachel Morgan: I'm sure I had a unique experience since so many others have rated 5 stars, but I wouldn't suggest this business for single women looking to be treated fairly for needed repairs. I was gaslit on the phone and told that my problem couldn't be as bad as I was explaining it to be, which is absolutely inexcusable.I was also told that my very simple repair would be upwards from $450... before the technician really thought through the BEST solution for this customer. I think they might be a bit quick to dismiss women, but that's just my experience. I won't be calling them again. Cardinal Catastrophe is quicker and gives much better service.
Jay Boyd: I emailed on a Sunday asking if they could squeeze in the installation of a through the roof bathroom vent in the next 3 days - got prompt reply on Monday and on Tuesday the vent was installed. Excellent communication, delivered as promised within my very tight timeline. Not a big job but 3+ stories in the air on an old roof. GEOFFREY BARNES: I have a 3 story city house with multiple roof profiles and steep slopes, plus a 3 season room/addition at the rear. Had roof, gutters, downspouts replaced. Took a little longer than I had anticipated but probably not unusual in the this strange year.The roofing team struggled with the weather and had to pause a couple of times but despite strong wind they executed a really good job, with thorough clean up each evening. The finished product has been praised by my neighbors.The Gutter story, initially complicated by supply problems, unraveled a little when health problems took out Spartans preferred installer.Eventually Patrick found a team to complete the contract, making sure a minor error with one of the downspout was corrected.I was impressed with the way Patrick regularly checked in on the work as it progressed, ensuring that the finished product was everything I wanted. Their cost was very reasonable, as they gave me a discount for doing roo/gutters at the same time and they upgraded us to architectural shingles (stronger, more durable, better aesthetic look). They also work with me on getting the right shade of gutters for the house, even making the extra effort to drop off samples of the shingle/gutter so that we could ensure it was the right fit for our home.The scheduling and payment process was very easy, all done through an online contract and payment system. Best of all, their customer service was unparalleled, as they responded to every question I had the same or following business day.In fact, for the gutter installation, I'd requested that our gutters (which were copper) be left with me so I could turn them in for scrap (copper is very valuable). The contractor missed that in the instructions and they hauled them away. When I reached out to Repair It, they instantly apologized and credited our final bill with the value, no questions asked (which I didn't even ask for).The work itself was timely and looks great. The roof installation took approx. 3 days and the gutter installation was done in one business day. Dice Mofo: Was quoted something like $3995 to fix a microscopic leak that occurs every now and then. Simply needs to be tarred around the chimney. Yes, they were correct in stating the new roof was incorrectly installed over existing roof by house flippers.Said flashing around dormer was not done properly. Perhaps... I don't know. And that after new flashing was out jn would have to put in new roof on that part.All of this for a microscopic leak thst I showed them. I think it is extremely predatory and a total money grab. Michele Hellstern: Our home is nearly 200 years old, much if the roof is slate which was originally put on around 1890, with maintenance done around 1980. We had hail damage to some of the slate, Scott came out and the damage was repaired and he helped us plan for prevention of future damage. We also plan to start adding slate back where it was removed over the years and we are definitely using this company for that! They have a annual maintenance program that we are also signed up for. Prices were very reasonable and the staff that I dealt with were phenomenal!
