Thriveworks Counseling St. Louis: what do users think?
Hannah B: Not military friendly, when I called there was only one provider who was covered by tri-careIt is ridiculous that you’re basically paying not only a membership but the counseling service as well.I wanted an in person session with a therapist and with having only one provider accepting Tri-Care my only option was online on SATURDAYS. The therapist always expressed to me that she had a very busy schedule and that Saturdays were her only available slot for me every other weekend but after our “visits” I was automatically scheduled every weekend AFTER she told me that there wasn’t availability and I felt she didn’t have time for me.I canceled after 2 visits and received my first bill 6 months later and they didn’t go through my insurance first….
Owen Duncan: I made my first appointment with Thriveworks over the phone and requested the free trial, gave my insurance information to the receptionist (who was very nice and helpful), and then went to my appointment a bit later. After a few appointments, I was notified by my credit card that there was a charge of several hundred dollars from Thriveworks. They had billed me directly (without warning) without going through my insurance. I called them, gave my insurance information over the phone, and was told I'd get a refund once they processed it. Another appointment later, there was another $100+ charge to my credit card, again with no warning. I called again, and gave my insurance information again. This time I received an email a week later (after calling again to follow up) which I sent my insurance information, after which they finally refunded me of all the charges (aside from the copays) and set up my insurance. I called after my last appointment to cancel my membership; a month later, I got a notification from my credit card that I'd been charged for the membership that I'd cancelled. I called again (today) and was promised a refund, and I'm sure I'll get it eventually. In the end everything worked out, but working with Thriveworks was a real headache. I don't normally leave bad reviews (or any reviews) for this sort of thing, but my experience was so frustrating that I felt obligated to share it.
Mya Nunley: I've seen Thomas Michler only 2 times now, but so far he is much more understanding and easier to talk to than the psychiatrist I was seeing for months. We've already discussed things for me to get in the habit of doing like writing down when I'm doing something we've specifically spoken about, tracking when I do something to see if there's a pattern, etc.. I'm actually about to schedule another appointment with him!
Shawn Smith: Dr. Airsman is awesome! He truly cares about his clients!
shina rae: I travel so I thought online therapy would be the best option. I chose an appt with someone who's focus matched my needs and who had my insurance listed. Before first session, a Thriveworks rep called me to ask if I was ready for my first appt or had any questions. I said yes & no respectively. That was the whole phone call, and Thriveworks charged me $39.99 after that call. When I got to my first session my insurance had not been verified and we spent the first 15 minutes dealing with that. She was also surprised by the $39.99 charge from Thriveworks and told me that should not happen. After our session I had to call my insurance and get info to connect the two. 2 hours before my 2nd appt the therapist emails me to tell me my insurance is still not cleared and I'll be charged full price for my second session. I am beyond frustrated. Much room for improvement within this service.
Lindley Assar (Lyn): Dr. Airsman is a godsend !! If i could give 5000 stars I would. As other reviewers have stated he will go out of his way to to take care of those he counsels. In a time when our world is so fast paced, you need someone who will listen to your concerns and respond appropriately. That person is Dr. Airsman. He will take time with you and listen to what you have to tell him. I know that I can present to Dr. Airsman any concern I may have and feel confident that he will address it to the best of his ability. Thanks for all your help Dr. Airsmanit's truly helped a lot..Lindley Assar
Donald Fansler: Dr Airsman helped me with my addictions and I am truly grateful. It wasn’t easy for me to open up and be truthful about my thoughts. Dr Airsman is very understanding and easy to talk to and made the process so much easier than I expected. Thank you
Laurence Bryan: John Airsman from Thriveworks is an outstanding individual! He believes in what he is doing, helping others. His insight is most beneficial.
Boyd & Marilyn Brooks: I recommend John Airsman.
Michelle Steeg: Tom Michler is hands down the best therapist you will find here! His years of experience and expertise will help guide you in meeting whatever goal you are trying to achieve. He’s thoughtful and compassionate, but most importantly, he’s Real. So if you’re looking for a therapist who will safely push you out of your comfort zone and give you the tools to help you through whatever life has thrown at you, Tom Michler is absolutely the therapist for you.
Ali Seoud: Tom Michler has really helped me through a lot. He isn’t just a counselor, he genuinely wants to help you. Will meet your understanding and help you see why you think the way you do. A lot of things that are going well in my life right now are because of talking to Tom Michler. He doesn’t pressure you into saying anything you don’t want to say, totally makes you feel comfortable! I for sure recommend him to just about anyone!
Sam Hackett: I highly recommend Tom Michler. With the support of Tom over the years, I was able to shed myself of expectations others held for me and move towards a space of acceptance and love for myself. Tom does an amazing job actively listening to me. I get the sense that he deeply understands me by bringing genuineness and authenticity to each meeting. In other words, he accepts me for who I am. The world needs more Tom Michler’s.
Katherine B: I went through a really hard time battling anxiety and postpartum depression. It's so hard to find a therapist that you trust and connect with so I am very grateful for my time with Laura Estes because she just gets it. She is compassionate, professional, insightful, and an incredible listener. I strongly recommend Laura as a therapist!
Katie Marshall: I have known Laura for many years, and she is kind and professional. She will actively listen and make sure I feel comfortable and heard. Laura creates an environment where I feel free to express whatever I am feeling. She is an awesome therapist and I highly recommend her.

Thriveworks Counseling St Louis: what do users think?
Olivia McCrorey: They will steal your money and ignore the issue when you try to contact them about it.
Gina Collins: No complaints! Tiffany Burke is easy to talk and open up to. She’s flexible and understanding… Offers good solutions.
Fallon Heibel: Tiffany Burke is your best asset. She doesn’t look at me as a sick person.. she treats me like a person who is not defined by their illnesses. Blessed to have her in my life!
laurie jordan: My son went one time for 10 minutes and was told they couldn’t help him. 3 months later I’m finding out they are still charging to my charge card $39.00 dollars and $99.00 for services not rendered plus they charged him also. Will be calling the attorney general and BBB. What a scam!
Anna Blome: I really got a ton out of talking and working with my therapist through Thriveworks. I've made some good progress personally. What really was good for me was that there were hours available on all days, which helped since I work very odd hours. Would recommend.
Kelly Crooks: Angela Johnson is an amazing clinician. Shes calm and patient but always willing to help.
