St. Louis Country Club: what do users think?
Henry Liaw: The St. Louis Country Club, in the St. Louis suburb of Ladue, Missouri, is a private country club. This club, which dates back to 1892, is among the oldest and most prestigious in the metropolitan St. Louis area. The course is both difficult and beautiful, with tree-lined fairways, immaculately maintained greens, and well positioned bunkers and hazards. On a sunny and windy day, I went there, and I've since created a YouTube video to show my relatives and close friends.
Steven Woods: Really don't know too much but that's a place for the rich people
Jamie Patrick: very nice, masonry looks excellent
John Reitz: I was there once years ago......snobsville.Really nothing special. Needed paint.....men's room smelled. Those were my impressions.
Angella Ryan: Love it!
Sherry Smith: Great service and food.
Todd Golden: Great place
Traci Peters: I am giving this Country Club a one star review. My daughter worked in the dinning hall as a server. She was under her 90 work review. She became pregnant during this time and was still working. She did have some pregnant related issues that is most common with any pregnancy. The management was unwilling to work with my daughter's condition. They assigned her double shifts without ant breaks (12) hours. When she was in the bathroom facilities staff members were sent to search for her. She stated that she had told a fellow server and or manager that she needed to leave her post, And she would return. She was fired for not being able to complete her duties as assigned by her management team. I contacted MIke Hartign, the head manager at the dinning facility at the Club. I made him aware of laws concerning firing pregnant women. As a retired manager for the US government, I have dealt with many pregnancies during my term. As a federal law we were required to make concessions for the employee even to the determent of our working staff.I guess that being a very exclusive club that these rules and federal regulations do not pertain to them. According to the baby gate and the FMLA they do. But, alas my daughter is still fired. She was harassed at work and given extra duties beyond her abilities due to her pregnancy. I will be reporting this unnecessary treatment to the Federal agency for her lack of treatment at your facility. I am very disappointed that Mr Hartigan could not give her another chance to prove her dedication and desire to preform her duties to the fullest of her abilities. And provide your customers with the service that they deserve. Proper training and monthly evaluations were not given and this I know as being a manger for 34 years is the top one priority for any manager to give the new employees the tools to help make the operation a success.
Carol Trotter: Wonderful good and service. Beautiful club.
David Spavale: I work There
Alohadonny: The management and staff make a great team, the golf course is beautiful, and the club house itself is full of artwork and beautiful walls and doors, dating back from the mid 1800s.
Gerardo Castro: Excelente
Cell Chaos: The Saint Louis Country Club features fine dining for private events, for club members and guests. The club prides itself on a rich history going back generations in the St Louis area. The main club house boasts an elegant and historic club setting with multiple rooms, bars, and dining halls all staffed by white glove employees. Of course, the club also is home to a fine golf course, as well as other recreational amenities.
Denise Taylor: My boss dines here
Mary Ann Young Schulte: I've only worked there as this is a private club. If you have the $$$ it would be great to join.

Andy Kohn: Beautiful Country club with fantastic food and service. A pleasure to be a guest

Paul Kohnen: Fantastic

Everything that we tried was amazing, from the simplest dishes to the more complex ones. The staff were super nice and great, and the whole place was beautifully decorated and well maintained.I definitely recommend this place, it has great food, nice environment, beautiful golf course, and awesome staff. It’s a good place to come with family and friends, and I will definitely come back when I get the chance again.
Dave Woolley: What a beautiful and historic facility! Built for the 1904 World's Fair, the course has turn of the 20th century charm. The staff is incredibly attentive to the needs of the members and guests and the catering is top notch! An interesting and challenging course, too!
TJ Butts: Very nice facility. It's back up in cut, kind of hard to find. Should have a sign at the entrance from Lucas and Hunt.
Thomas Sandifer: A hidden St. Louis gem!
Alicia Berry: First time there and it was very clean, spacious, cozy, and inviting perfect place for any event.
Tom Brimer: Wedding reception for Corey and Maggie Scott. Dinner, dancing, and refreshments. Excellent staff and Facilites.
Michael Buell: I have only played the course once, 70 degree day in December when the rough was short, fairways dormant, no leaves on the trees, and the greens not up to Summer condition. It is an old course on fairly hilly property. Many holes tee off down to a valley and then back up to the green. I do not recall that there are any fairway bunkers and I do not recall bunkers being directly in front of any green. There are approximately four par fours in what I would call the short range from 300 to 360 yds from the White tees. There are also about four or more long par fours over 400 yds from the white tees. The course is covered in pin oaks many of which are diseased and will have to be removed. It is my understanding that approximately 115 are slated for that. The primary course defense is the hilliness, including many fairways that slant from side to side, and the slope of the greens. Because many are on the top edge of a hill there is more slope to the green than appears. Most of the holes are straight away and the few dog legs that exist are mild. This overall setup requires you to be able to move the ball both ways from the tee or at the very least hit a straight drive that you can aim up the left or right side to ensure that it finishes in the fairway. With most of the greens elevated you have to be able to drop the approach where needed rather than run the ball up even though most of the greens are open in the front. The greens are not overly large either so where you leave the ball on the green is important. You don't want to be behind the hole too often when the pin is near the front or even in the center. The bunkers are fairly deep and some have pretty steep walls facing the green. The sand is very fine but not exceedingly deep but that may just have been the winter conditions. Keep your tee shots in the fairway because you will not get enough spin out of the rough to control your distance to an uphill green. I look forward to playing this course in season and perhaps give it a more fair assessment. The staff is very nice and helpful. We had lunch in the restaurant and I thought there were a number of good choices and everything was well prepared. It's a great old Tudor style country clubhouse that could use some updates to the locker rooms.
Guy Kellerman: Very nice and a great place to have a Christmas party no matter the setting.I would have preferred an old-fashioned Christmas setting my self. But that wasnt the setting the company i was with choice. The baby grand and big fireplace are a great hit be nice to have the piano by the bar in the fireplace room
L Greer: Beautiful clubhouse and fascinating history. The oldest golf course west of the Mississippi. I attended a luncheon and the food was wonderful.
Deborah Jones: Great
It's Me: This is a very nice place to have an event.
William Sinon: An absolute showcase club here in STL. Become a member. Big recommendation
Tim Keeney: Glen Echo is a beautiful and challenging course! All of the staff we interacted with were enthusiastic, friendly and helpful. The facilities are very nicely kept, too. If you ever have an opportunity to accompany a member be sure you do it.
Dwayne Bass: I grew up in Bel-Nor and know the course well. It's a classic layout that challenges you on every hole.
Carl Holt: I was fortunate to be a member at GECC for 10 years. Recently moved out of state so had to leave which was bittersweet. This club gave me so much. When I moved to STL I didn’t know anyone. At this club along with life long friends including one that ended up standing up in my wedding- I found my Lawyer, Jeweler, Dentist and Financial Advisor. It gave me so many connections in a new city. I LOVED the golf course. It’s an old classic track with fast greens and great variety. I miss the days going out after work playing a round of golf on a beautiful summer evening. Then having an adult beverage or two after the round with friends. This place will always be in my heart and can’t wait to come back and visit. If your looking for a great club that isn't pretentious, this is the one. Very welcoming and accommodating. Great Golf Course, Great Club, Great People. Thank you GECC!
Michelle Haley: Awesome day for golf at the best course in St Louis
Nancy Minnick: This is a lovely old country club. We had dinner on the patio while enjoying the sunset across the golf course. Causal, friendly service and family friendly( we had a 2yr old with us). Food and beverages were delicious. I recommend the Cobb salad.

Normandie Golf Club: what do users think?
John Weiler: Reworking the course. I can't wait until it's complete.
Richard Beye: The greens = 5The price = 5The fairways = 2The carts = 2The tees = 1Cart path = 1Lots of remodeling soon. I'll wait for the next iteration of this course.
Ryan Graham (RYNO): I'm so excited to introduce the OLDEST GOLF COURSE WEST OF THE MISSISSIPPI! Thank you for having me catch up on some much needed practice today. Chasing my dreams one day at a time
J: Cart paths are absolutely terrible. The course is in pretty poor shape
Odie Junior: Historic golf course with a great staff that is friendly and helpful! Looking forward to the revamped course!
Rose Sharp-Robinson: Nice place, great location, no clubhouse.
Keith Nieters: Nice course tough greens
B. Crawford: The fairways have not been watered in a month. No telling were the ball will bounce. Pray for rain.
Clint Bohannon: Course was in pretty good shape compared to past few years. Greens are already in process of renovation; heavily sanded and kept a little long. It's obvious renovation is about to begin. Trees are marked for pruning and/or removal based upon condition.Really, really good layout. Course designed by same person who designed forest park, glen echo, and ruth park. Lots of risk reward scenarios. Looking forward to renovation. Course has great "bones," is adequately challenging for skilled players from back tees, and will be a great course again once remodel is complete.
Haley Smith: Trash everywhere, water coolers empty, rude staff, and the course is so poorly-maintained that the sand traps are rock hard and the putting greens have patches of dirt on them…. All for a 20% surcharge compared to nearby 18-hole courses.
Dennis Counts: Course was in pretty good shape given recent weather.
Robert Smith: NGC is conveniently located, is novice friendly, and has a generally good pace of play. With few exceptions, players are respectful of their less advanced comrades. Yes, there are areas in need of repair/refurbishing but the crew does a fantastic job of keeping the old course clean and in good shape. With the projected overhaul they walk a fine line between making major rehab investments now or waiting for the course facelift. Like waiting for a new home to be built, one is reluctant to expend a lot of resources into their present home. But one wants to be comfortable so he/she tends to the amenities that accomplish that goal.Like everyone else I am anticipating the new NGC but I am comfortable with the course now. It is number 1 on my short list of 18 hole local public courses and number 2 on my list of pubs overall.Keep up the good work!Bob Smith
Kyle Lackey: For a course built in 1901, this is a gem for any golf enthusiast. With such an old course there will always be wear and tear. The golf experience is still exceptional and challenging with plenty of long holes that force you to play strategic. I would recommend anyone to give this course a try.
Jon Blankemeier: Great playing course, loved the support for the tournament. Super people!
Richard Rice: Cool Golf was cool!
Matt Kallman: The best Zoysia fairways, the greens are tough and quick, a challenging layout. If you get a bad lie move it a little!
Jacob Schwyhart: First time ever playing this course and I loved it. Great course for placement shots and the greens were done of the best in St Louis.
mark dennis: Good ol golf course lots of woods lots of driver shots. Cheap enough too.
Craig W: Greens in great shape. Course in below average shape. Awesome layout still. Can't wait to see what it's like after the renovation.
Se-Young Jun: Cheap place to golf. Quality-wise, you get what you paid for.
Bill Brink: Course is closing in November. Greens in great shape I enjoyed playing the course my father worked on at a teenager carrying golf bags for the different baseball players and such he had some real stories I thought of my father a lot that day.By the way the course will be reopened in 18 months
